Kissing the homies goodnight for Willie (/Willex) because I feel like Willie would.

Ack I'm so sorry this took so long but here you gooo!

Willie ducked into the kitchen to grab the water pitcher and some glasses, praying he wasn't forgetting anything important. They knew it was just their friends crashed across various surfaces in the living room, but it was still nerve-wracking. Willie hadn't been to a sleepover in like... five years, let alone hosted one. They got why the foster care system had to check over people before they could stay overnight, but with the number of times Willie had moved around since entering the system, it just... had never happened.

Caleb had been hesitant at first when Willie asked if they could all stay over, wanting to ensure Willie was settled himself first. And also wanting to meet all of these kids before he let them have free reign of his home.

But it was finally happening. All of Willie's best friends (and his boyfriend, but they hadn't really managed to wrap their head around that one yet) were lounging in his living room at 2 in the morning, some closer to dozing off than others.

Willie wasn't sure which was stronger: the excitement or the terror of messing this up.

He was pretty sure he hit all the main bits on all the 'how to throw a slumber party' lists he'd found online: pizza, way too many types of ice cream toppings (they're not entirely sure how many of those canned cherries Luke ended up fitting in his mouth), random games (he'd never heard of turning pictionary into a drinking game with shots of soda, but apparently that was a thing his friends did), and a movie with lots of popcorn and cozy blankets.

So they're pretty sure they've done alright thus far.

Still, it'd been a long time since Willie did this.

He re-entered the living room just as Alex managed to grab the TV remote and turn off the rolling credits of Legally Blonde. Flynn looked to already be asleep, lying across one of the air mattresses with her feet up on Julie's stomach. Julie had propped herself up a bit on her elbows and was debating...something with Reggie. Both of them looked closer to dozing off than winning though. Luke and Carrie were both sitting upright on one of the couches, madly swiping on their phones and hissing at each other.

"Do I even want to know?" Willie asked Alex quietly, setting the water and cups down on the coffee table and rejoining him on the loveseat.

Alex groaned. "I made the mistake of telling them there's a PvP mode on this tower defense game they both play."

Willie tried to hold back his giggle. He failed.

Alex attempted to glare at them, but mostly just looked sleepily confused. "I'm serious, we're gonna have to take their phones away now if we want them to sleep," he sighed.

Willie winced. "Any chance the game will kick them off after a few rounds?"

Alex shook his head, then leaned over to rest his head on Willie's shoulder. "And they're both too stubborn to give in, I already tried it."

Willie rested their cheek against his hair, letting their lungs adjust to expanding and contracting in time with the light huffs of Alex's breath against their collarbone. "Is it online?" he asked.

"Yeah, why?" Alex responded, blinking up at him sleepily in the dim light of the lamp.

Willie smirked and pulled out his phone. Okay, so Caleb hadn't technically given him the password for the router, but like... it hadn't been hard. He opened the app on his phone that connected to the electronic and started typing.

Twin cries of annoyance erupted from the pair on the other couch a moment later, informing Willie of his success.

"It just kicked me off!" Luke complained.

"Same here," Carrie griped. "Willie I think your wifi died."

Willie looked up, attempting to look innocent. "Oh yeah, I think you're right," they agreed. "Ugh, this happens sometimes, it will probably come back in an hour or two, but we just gotta wait it out."

Both Luke and Carrie groaned, but seemed to buy it and tossed their phones aside. Carrie peeled off her sweater and tossed it down next to Flynn's head, before pulling a blanket up and over herself and stretching out along the couch. Luke slid down onto the air mattress beside Reggie, koala cuddling against his back. Reggie laughed and shifted over so Luke could share his pillow, still discussing... Okay Willie was pretty sure they were trying to figure out who in their friend group would be whom in Legally Blonde. Fair enough.

Willie felt Alex's tiny sigh of relief against his neck and shivered. It felt nice, being close like this and knowing it made Alex just as fluttery as it did them.

Alex brought his fingers up to his chin, then let his hand move forward, palm up. Thank you.

Willie tucked his phone away. "Don't mention it," he whispered, daring to brush his lips against Alex's forehead.

Alex's cheeks turned pink, but Julie interrupted before Willie could tease him about it.

"Hey, no PDA unless you're willing to share with the class," she mumbled, eyes heavy.

"You're one to talk," Alex pointed out, glancing pointedly between her and Flynn's feet still resting on her abdomen.

"Oh you wanna wake her up?" Julie snarked back, the words slurring together a bit.

"I don't think any of us have that death wish," Willie chuckled. They tapped Alex lightly on the shoulder in warning, then stood up. "And I don't mind sharing." Before Julie could respond, he ducked down and pecked her on the forehead. "Sweet dreams, Juju," they added, throwing a spare blanket over her and heading back toward Alex.

"Hey, we're part of the class too," Reggie called out. When Willie turned, he was sticking his bottom lip out, the puppy eyes mostly hidden by his drooping eyelids.

Willie glanced back at Alex, a little startled, but Alex just shrugged and gave him a sleepy smile. So Willie picked his way around to Reggie and gave him a goodnight kiss too. And then Luke perked up a bit and wanted one. And Carrie said she should get one on Flynn's behalf, since her girlfriend was asleep.

"I guess I should have warned you how clingy we all get this late," Alex murmured when Willie finally made it back to his side. "I kinda forgot you haven't been able to be around this before. Just feels really natural."

"All good," Willie promised around a yawn. "Just tryin'a be a good host."

Alex leaned over and hit the button on the side of the love seat to make it lean back, the extending footrest turning it into more of a bed. "It's perfect," he stated, pulling Willie in to lay beside him.

Willie let out a happy sigh and cuddled in closer. Alex's cool arms soothed the nervous energy that was always humming along their skin. He felt Alex's lips brush against his hairline.

"G'night Lex," they mumbled, eyes slipping shut.

"Good night, Willie."

4. Dirti Candi's first "gig" was at their middle school's Battle Of The Bands.

It was almost 2 weeks after Julie, Flynn and Carrie had stopped being friends so when Flynn found out that Carrie was gonna perform she decided that her and Julie would join the BOTB and beat her.

It was a great plan until they had to come up with a name and neither Julie nor Flynn could agree on anything (this is where double trouble came from !! )

Dirti Candi ended up winning and Rose sat both the girls down to have a long talk ab forgiveness and compromise when she found out

1. Andi Mack: Kira did not deserve the intense hate she got from the fandom and I firmly believe she would have been redeemed in season 4 if we had gotten one.

2. The Owl House: okay. this might be controversial but. al*dar*us. I do not like them. I appreciate the comedy aspects of the ship but I truly cannot see them acting lovey dovey at all and tbh I don’t think they have a lot in common. Also Darius is sooooo out of Alador’s league idk what he sees in him. And I may or may not be salty that they got more canon confirmation than gustho but whatever

3. Miraculous: Ms Bustiere. I hate her. She’s terrible at her job and the way she reacts to and treats Marinette, Chloe, and Lila is so messed up and extremely misguided and I just can’t stand her. Gay rights and all but she sucks.

4. JATP: I’m sorry but the boys should have crossed over at the end. The whole coming back to life thing makes 0 sense and undermines the show’s theme of overcoming grief.

5. The Babysitters Club (Netflix): I don’t care how many people hc Kristy as a lesbian she is a romance-repulsed aromantic to me and I will die on this hill.

hey I recently followed you after I watched npmd as my foray into its fandom and One NPMD Blog To Follow (your fic 10/10 btw, greatly enjoyed it) and was delighted by the aro/ace posts you also reblog ^_^ doesn’t need to be npmd, but do you have any favorite aro or ace headcanons?

omg thank you anon! one thing about me is i will be sooooo aro on main

i was big into jatp for the last few years, so one of my fave aro hcs is reggie peters! that boy is aro bi and you Cannot tell me otherwise. headcanon acquired from this iconic post by amanda @secretly-of-course and like i mean it's just correct. i even made a gifset and a fic about it (the fic does also end up aro-fying the rest of the polycule lmao). other aro jatp hcs include aro carrie, aro luke, and obviously the band as a qpr bc that's basically canon. i do also believe in aro bobby because i loveeee to project onto that boy lmao. you may be noticing some patterns in my headcanons and it is that i am extremely biased towards zapping characters with my arofication beam. well guess what i also transgenderize them

(if i had a nickel for every time i made an ao3 series about a polycule consisting of musically-inclined main characters, then wrote subsquent fics transing their genders and aromanticizing their orientations/queerplatonic-ing their relationships, i'd have two nickels. which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice. if you're into be more chill you can check out my meremine series i wrote in high school lol)

other than jatp i haven't really been super active in fandom recently? i did find a very good aro bi steve harrington series on ao3, which i definitely recommend checking out if ur into that sort of thing

honestly my hcs change depending on the day and mood. i haven't spent too much time thinking about npmd hcs but i mean. any character i like ends up getting arospec'd it's only a matter of time

 “I will be enrolling at Hillerska Boarding School.  Nobody is more disappointed in me than my family, and especially myself,” he continues, feeling his mother’s gaze on him.  The mic pinned to his collar catches every word, every breath, every hesitation.  He gulps, lifting his chin ever-so-slightly, trying to keep his mask from breaking.  “This past year has been difficult for me,” Alex continues, fighting to keep his voice steady even though this is the last thing he ever wanted.  “There has been added pressure as I assume my official duties as prince.   Because of this, I have acted irresponsibly.  I apologise for this, and assure you that it will not happen again.”

like the other anon was talking about, I had so many headcanons of where you could take this. I’ve previously thought of jatp x skz but you brought it to fruition 🤩 I’m also curious how far you’ll diverge from the og storyline but also, it’d be so funny if the boys didn’t have a 4th member like Trevor but instead they had a frenemy who became successful as weird as he was is (JYP) 😂 Sososo many other hc’s, I can’t wait to read further :D

Ooooo, Juke writer/barista au headcanons?

ooh okay wait

i’m picturing julie working at a coffee shop; the same coffee shop luke used to slyly sneak up to unattended clipboards when music scouts weren’t around to keep an eye on their belongings

i’m picturing luke scribbling on said unattended clipboard one day as he usually does, but new hire barista julie notices him; and immediately asks him what he’s doing. luke is quick to jump back and attempt to lie smoothly but it all goes flying out the window when julie stops listening to him and reads out loud “sunset…..swerve? ..okay” (might have been said in a slightly judge-y tone)

“it’s sunset curve!!!” “oh so you were trying to sneak your band on this list? not cool, dude. people work hard to get on that list”

and luke is offended that this girl he’s never met is judging him and thinking he’s stealing other people’s opportunities and it turns into a full blown debate until julie’s boss throws her a look and she needs to get back to work

luke leaves but can’t stop thinking about that one barista that thinks he’s an ass who doesn’t respect Musicians

so he goes back. but she ignores him. and then goes back again the next day, and then the next and the next until he’s there everyday and julie’s had it — she goes up to him and is about to confront him when she reads the lyrics on the page of his journal that’s facing her, and it’s snippets of unsaid emily. luke notices her and quickly shoves it away but like. julie’s starting to thaw out a little. this dude’s work is full of raw emotion and julie’s softhearted. luke apologises and tries to explain his situation and how he has a deadline to prove to his parents this is the right path for him and that he’s run away but wants to make it before heading back etc and it’s a Moment.

from that day forward luke pops on and heads to his usual spot and julie’s there within a few minutes with his regular drinks and they talk every day. and exchange ideas. and one day she’s helping him with a lyric and sings it quietly and luke’s just like!? YOU’re A MUSICIAN?? BRUH and he’s begging her to sing and asking her to listen to their music and asking her to head to one of their gigs and suddenly they’re meeting up outside of the coffee shop and it feels Real and it’s magic 😌

THE END

HC: luke’s handwriting isn’t that bad in this au julie just wanted to butcher his band’s name that first time to take him down a notch.

it doesn’t take luke very long to ask julie to join their band. not long at all (isn’t this canon tho)

julie would sneakily slip luke’s tips back in his bag when she finds out he’s running low on funds and is still refusing to head home (and is struggling)

julie starts writing in sunset curve’s name in some lists herself

the boys loved julie cause 1. julie and 2. she’d always bring drinks and delicious desserts and snacks from the cafe to every practice 😌

Yes a classic!

Ales has anxiety. This is not a secret. Everyone knows this.

Because of that anxiety, he needs to get to college super early. Like an hour early.

(Because what if his car breaks down or he gets lost or there’s no parking or-)

Anyway since the doors to his class aren’t even unlocked that early, one day he gets the idea to visit the college coffee shop. Because if he has to have an anxiety attack in his car, he might as well do it with a hot drink.

It should have been simple. It’s not.

He stops in his tracks the second he gets through the door because oh no! The barista is hot!

Luckily the barista guy is too busy wiping down counters to even notice Alex until he awkwardly clears his throat.

And oh no. It gets worse. The guy is even prettier when he turns around because he has a lovely smile and cheekbones! And his hair!! His hair is tucked up mostly under his cap but a few strands have fallen loose around his face.

The name tag on his shirt says “Willie.”

Alex is going to die of gay right here right now.

Except he’s unlucky that way because he doesn’t. Instead he just stares awkwardly until he realizes he’s been staring awkwardly for a really long time.

“Are you open?” he manages to ask. His voice only cracks a tiny bit. Yay.

Except then Willie smiles even wider and winks at him. “For you? Sure!”

What does that even mean? Alex does not know!

He does successfully manage to order a hot tea without being even more awkward though so... it’s the small successes in life.

But Willie isn’t done because he keeps talking to him and oh no Alex was not ready for this.

“Why’re you here so early?”

“Oh... you know... class...” If the earth could just swallow him now then that would be great because he sounds so so lame!

“You know you’ve got an hour to go, right?”

“Um... yeah... just... don’t want to miss it...” How was that somehow worse??

But Willie just laughs. “Then you can keep me company.”

What does that mean????

Apparently what that means is Alex staying by the counter for the entire hour, talking to Willie. They talk about music of course because Willie notices the drumsticks sticking out of Alex’s bag.

Of course Willie has great taste in music! Of course he can’t have a single flaw to put Alex at ease.

They share some reccoemndations. Alex secretly saves them to a playlist to listen later.

In the end he’s five minutes late to class. Even more shockingly, he’s almost okay with that, because he’s just has the most amazing conversation ever.

Willie makes him a fresh cup of tea to go (on the house) because Alex had let his grow cold. He draws a little doodle of a drummer on the cup too.

On the bus ride home, almost six hours later, Alex listens to the playlist and can’t help but notice how romantic some of the songs are.

Visiting the coffee shop during the early morning becomes a ritual. Almost every day he keeps Willie company before class. They talk about music, and when that runs out they talk about skateboarding.

or... Willie talks about skateboarding. Alex worries about all the crazy stories of Willie riding through traffic and breaking into museums.

Alex has stories of his own though. He tells Willie about the band. About the time Luke smashed Reggie’s face into an entire cheesecake. When Julie covered all of Alex’s stuff in wrapping paper as a revenge prank. When Reggie and Luke were banned for life for starting a fight because someone called Julie’s singing “mediocre” at a club.

In the end it’s almost a month later when Alex walks through the door, and Willie greets him by saying, “When are you going to ask me out?”

It takes Alex almost a full five minutes to recover from that shock. Because wait a second the hot barista guy wants to date him?? What!?

They go on their first date that night.

And their second the night after...

And a third... fourth... fifth... and so on.

I’m back on my Lonely Carrie™️ bullshit and this time I’m thinking about Carrie making friendship bracelets but having no one to give them to because her popular friends think it’s childish or sad or weird, so she just has a little pile of colourful thread bracelets sitting on her bedside table, then at school she sees Julie and Flynn wearing friendship bracelets they made each other and her heart breaks a little because she doesn’t think she’ll ever have that sort of thing with anyone
