Taste of a cold spring night
I'll never forget the taste of this spring
The feeling I get when you play the string
Soft warmth in my hands as I drink the day
Sweet notes of honey slowly slip away
Nothing to eclipse the pallid crescent
Closed eyes and the world is evanescent
Those depths are so cold, I no longer see
But I hear you call, your voice anchors me
Blurred colors of life, nothing feels as true
I whisper a smile to the ghost of you
And bottle your words, filled with quiescence
Almost like you're here, I feel your presence

Ghost
I speak of the words you said years ago
Forever forgotten, you can hear no echo
A secret shared by two is bound to be just mine
Change is the ill consuming my mind
No one dares to speak of the deceased
If I am alone to remember, does a ghost become a dream ?
A fever-born mist with no ties to a past
Memories don't last when they didn't exist
There is a cemetery in my head
Rows of graves of you and us
Each tombstone marked with a sentence
Long faded out of your existence
Only I hear the echo
Alone I leave on each grave a rose
I am plagued in remembrance
Rotting hand clawing at the withering
Diseased love for the ghost of a living

My fingertips still trace the curves of your name
In hopes you feel their caress on your face all the same
They long to know the hills and valleys of your skin
Left in their wake the chills never seem to wear thin
I'll be the first to learn all your constellations
Scattered stars to discern, I'll name them temptations
For my lips to digress around proofs of beauty
And subtle scars to bless for love is my duty
Hands would nest together and I strive for this fate
Hiding inside letters dreams of us that await

Paper cuts and paper planes
Folding the paper in the shape of a way out
I pile up all your words to hide them in a cloud
Your promises will be secrets kept by the sky
I will escape with them, carried by one last sigh
A single red tear drops, you flee my fingertips
A thousand paper cuts, farewells won't leave your lips
Are you only running so you won't be the wind
Pushing me far away, making us paper-thin ?
Are you afraid to blow because it's a frail plane ?
Even if you cut deep you can heal from the pain

I came back home
And it didn't quite feel like home
The floorboards creaked with unfamiliarity
Crying for a pace no longer in synchrony
The dance faded from my memory
I came back home
To clutter too still and unfinished hopes
Lonely souvenirs, half-closed envelopes
Clothes forever waiting for the garden ropes
I came back home
To an empty heart disoriented by change
Untouched yet foreign rooms seeming so strange
Packed with old boxes and suitcases to rearrange
I went and roamed
Far, far away
When I came back home today
It didn't quite feel like home

I hold dear all things that wear your name, and give your name to all things that I hold dear

Warmth of an April sun
Unusual spells chased the rain and the cold
Find yourself at peace, brushed by hands of gold
Lie there amongst all the unspoken truths
Shivering silences of distant youths
Let time blur your limits, suspend your thoughts
Everlasting instant and fraying knots
Slowly dissolve your soul in the soft sound
Of the last voice that ties you to the ground
Stare at your sky; is it the same as mine?
Wind is a sigh; starry smiles always shine
When we leave it behind and April's gone
Will you remember the warmth of this sun?

You are getting glasses today
A chance at a change of I's
World upside-down, switch of perspective
Slight but brutal, see how through the glass
Magnified doubts become familiar
Magnificence found behind the blur
Renewed beauty, the inner is out
Laying there before your eyes
