SHINSOU HITOSHI : background headcannon

⚠️TW: ABUSE, BRIEF MENTION OF SUICIDE ⚠️

- His parents bout to get divorced b/c the dad was absolutely shitty about his quirk and abusive (like hitting him whenever he thinks Shinsou is trying to use his quirk and like covering his mouth and so now Shinsou has to find other ways to communicate because he is very anxious about talking cuz of his dad) (idk if i want to keep this) (basically family issues and occasional abuse)

- Momma is single (Toshi’s mom and Dad still live together due to convenience) and stressed and he decided he’ll be a hero to 1- help his momma, 2- prove (mostly to his dad) that his quirk isn’t villainous

- He tries to get into UA- dad makes fool of him, mom doesn’t try to help him and tbh sides with the dad out of fear

- He’s SOUL CRUSHED by her lack of faith in him and holes up in his room and skips a good chunk of schooling and his mom cant get him out of his room at all

- He gets the letter and gets accepted into the support class of UA to which he’s kinda upset but like its UA, he’s not too upset.

- USJ situation happens months before his parents kick him out cuz his dad convinces his mom to some bullshit reason and they (shinsou and his dad) have a shout match that then turn into a physical fight that Shinsou is losing cause he doesn’t work out and is scrawny

- His mom is sobbing and trying her best to break the fight and shinsou gets a chance to run (stumble) out the house and limps to a nearby park to wait out the rest of the day till late in the night to sneak back in and get his stuff

- His mom is awake and is waiting for him, he gets upset at her for just letting him (dad) do what he wants and she goes to say something but nothing comes out. So he just goes and packs up things he’s need and stole some coins from his dad

- He comes back downstairs and at the door he turns around and hugs her tightly and promises to come back and save her one day when he’s strong enough and leaves before she can say anything.

- He goes to the park again and just sits there and is trying to think up of what to do

- Aizawa is patrolling and finds him and talks to him (Shinsou admires him SO MUCH that he will geek over him if you give him the chance)

- They have a nice chit chat and Ofc first thing he points out the fact that he’s outside at ungodly hours of night with 2 bags (he kinda suspects that he ran away from home because the bruises and bloodiness of him- idk) and Hitoshi is very vague about it and Aizawa clocks it and Toshi finally fesses that he got kicked out by his dad, got into a fight, his mom didn’t really do anything to stop him and now he’s doesn’t know what to do

- Aizawa is very concerned and offers for Toshi to live with him till they could figure something out and Shinsou is internally bouncing off the walls and it’s eternally grateful

- And BAM AIZAWA IS QUEER AND MARRIED TO HAZASHI YAMADA AKA PRES MIC

- He’s getting comfortable and aizawa has to go so pres mic is the one patching him up, cracking jokes that make Shinsou laugh and makes a comment that he’s a lot like aizawa

- Insert wholesome moments of bonding and then USJ attack and Shinsou is BEYOND terrified for Aizawa’s safety.

- Introduction of dorms and putting shit in it

- He talks to Aizawa about transfering to the hero course and training, shit goes well

- Aizawa brings up his past home life Shinsou opens up to him over coffee and noodles and aizawa is livid

- They go check on his family and ofc Shinsou’s dad is PISSED to see him again and shinsou covers it uo by saying that he was here to see his mom and get the rest of his stuff to which is dad said that he had 30 minutes and he sold all of his stuff and shinsou is really unhappy with that

- He goes into the house, cant find mom till he finds her in locked in the bathroom and he tries to open it,has to break door down and finds her almost dead on the floor cuz suicide

- He freaks out and calls aizawa and he comes rushing and legal shit happens as well as Shinsou’s mom’s funeral

-dad gets arrested and gets his punishment

thinking about work from home! EraserMic...

like aizawa has enough work on his plate between 1-a and patrols, but yamada doesn't have nearly the stress from students as most of his day is spent teaching less problematic classes, and only having one period with 1-a. And sometimes it's nice to have a side gig to distract you from a more stressful job.

so he sets up his little radio studio in a closet/spare room and does his best to soundproof so he can dj from home. however, nothing's perfect, and any regular listener will know that.

because if yamada makes any (light hearted) jab or joke about aizawa, you can hear him from the other room. favorites of regulars that tune in include:

That's true, these idiots cannot and should not be seperated-

Present Mic gets along with everyone. For the most part. Like, he'll go to Karaoke with Ectoplasm, and they rock out, but. Well. Ectoplasm says lady gaga like 'lady guh-gah' and he insists that's how you say her name. Aizawa agrees with him just because it pisses off Mic, and All Might ACTUALLY says it the same way Ecto does. Help Present Mic, he's DYING, he's gonna KILL HIM.

Present Mic has only felt genuine resentment for Best Jeanist. Because at every single party they go to, Best Jeanist tries to outdo his look and steal his spotlight. Literally in EVERY other interaction, they get along beautifully. But when they want to dress and impress, they act like the most PETTY bitches. Constant shade thrown between them.

Present Mic likes neck accessories. He has a nice collection of scarves, necklaces, Aizawa's hands-

Present Mic finds himself beautiful, and he is, but he DOES find himself jealous of the more beefy heroes. Sure, he can throw a punch, but he's more of a long distance fighter, so he doesn't have the same muscles or scars as his brooding buddy. But hey, at least he can LOOK at the beefy babes all day.

Present Mic has a fondness for loud foods. Crackers, fried foods (especially chicken), and pop rocks. Aizawa hates it when they're on missions together, and suddenly he has to listen to Present Mic's mouth full of popping candy. And yes, Mic annoys him with it on purpose.

Present Mic does more of the domestic stuff around the house. The laundry (Aizawa just throws his shit in the wash without separating anything, drives Mic crazy), cleaning rooms, watering plants, etc. Honestly, the workload seems unfair, but Aizawa cooks and does groceries, so they're pretty happy with it. Oh and Aizawa kills the spiders, Mic sure as hell isn't doing that.

Present Mic reads to Eri, and he calls her 'his littlest listener'. She loves it when HE reads, he does all kinds of voices.

Present Mic has an ASMR channel on the side. It focuses a LOT on whispers and hand rubbing, but he also does cooking, and yes, I'm calling it, he's done spicy shit plenty of times. This man is hot and I need people to pay attention to it-

Present Mic knows multiple languages! I don't know the extent of it exactly, but he, in canon, knows Japanese and English, so more doesn't seem far fetched. Also, his parents are deaf, so chances are he knows how to do ASL too.

He. Absolutely. Loves his kids. And he's VERY open about it! Alongside Midnight, he's the most approachable teacher to come to for things, and WILL cut his lunch time to help students.

Teachers shouldn't have favorites. But he kinda does. Koda, Shoji, Jiro, and Uruaka. Little Uru is CUTE, Jiro and him actually have similar tastes in music, he's trying to get Koda to come out of his lil shell, and he just. Likes that Shoji is quick to catch onto lessons, and is able to help his classmates.

It’s these moments that remind me that Aizawa is not a healthy adult (mentally) and that he holds toxic traits that we're going to be exposed to soon.

I still love him, don't get me wrong. But every character should have their flaws and Aizawa is one that i absolutely love.

Same thing with Yamada, he has his flaws and it endears us to him.

I can't wait till Aizawa and Yamada meet Kurogiri! (This will make more sense in the future for the anime only people.)
