Samira glanced over at Hazal with an almost wary expression on her face before she looked around the club and took in the amount of people and how they all seemed to be having a good time. "Do you think everything's going well? I know I promised Mahira I'd check in from time to time and make sure it's all running smoothly...but there was a reason I chose to be a silent partner. I can add money but I know nothing about running a business," she murmured before glancing back at where the interim manager was handling things. "thank god for them--otherwise I'd be lost completely." Samira took a sip from her drink and looked back at the woman who she had only interacted with a few times earlier. "So--how are things going with you? I feel like we haven't connected in ages. Things with your boss still going badly?"

"Honestly, I don't blame you. And certainly don't blame yourself: for their actions or for being unsettled by it. That's a horrible thing to be dealing with." Jessica was taken aback by the fact that Hazal was going through that, and they certainly wanted to help if she could. When Hazal asked if she could just keep an eye out, Jessie was nodding quickly. "Of course, of course. And if you need someone to walk you to your car or back inside or anything like that, you just call or text me okay? Don't even hesitate." Jessica was pretty tall, and with her work she was stronger than she looked. But even just having someone else present could dissuade someone from trying anything. @hazalyildizs
Hazal felt a wave of relief at Jessica's reassuring touch. Her eyes darted around nervously before settling back on her neighbor's concerned face. "I have a stalker," she repeated, her voice barely audible. "It's so unsettling, to say the least. I'm constantly on edge, jumping at every little noise." She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. "Thank you for offering to help. I'm not sure what can be done, honestly. My boyfriend is handling it, but..." She trailed off, her gaze drifting to the cafe around them. Every face seemed like a potential threat now. She shook her head, forcing herself to focus. "Maybe just... keep an eye out? If you see anything suspicious around our building, let me know? I hate feeling this paranoid, but I can't seem to shake it."

CLOSED STARTER
LOCATION: Outside his house TIME: Thursday, afternoon FOR: @hazalyildizs
Atlas stood by his door, coffee mug in hand, when his neighbor materialized like she'd been shot from a cannon. Her startled jump made him spill drops of coffee on his shirt. He dabbed at the stain with his sleeve, glad to have something else to focus on besides her weird behavior. The past few weeks had been strangely peaceful without their daily squabbles about his early morning piano playing or her sprinklers going off at 2A.M. "That's one way to avoid saying hello." He said but his trained eye caught the way she gripped her keys, the small tremor in her movements. Something was off. "I know we're not exactly friends, but … you doing alright?"

Her palms are raised in faux surrender, elbows hitting the bar top as she leaned in closer. So maybe she'd been trying to convince the bartender to open up one of the rarer bottles of champagne. "I'm not trying to cause trouble, okay? I swear." A pearly white smile was flashed at the woman at her side who was hardly paying attention, with a wink directed at her before she returned to her scheme. "And it's my friends birthday. She just broke up with her fiancé. he's starring in this stupid movie in France. Isn't it the least you can do?"

LOCATION: Fright Fest
Lincoln wasn't really sure how he felt about this time of the year. Sure, it was cool. He liked to see the decorations and the costumes and people having a good time, but for him, it was just another day. However, going to the fall fest in the afternoon turned out to be a better idea than he originally thought. Everyone around him was enjoying their time, the kids were having the time of their lives. The park had done a great job at putting together this event. He had taken a step away to answer a work call. He'd cut a glance back at Hazal every few seconds, making sure she was still safe. He'd find her working along side some kids. The children taking to her quickly, obviously excited to be in her presences as she helped them with whatever activities they were doing. Once the call ended, Lincoln made his way back over to his girlfriend. The kids near her wore bright smiles and loud laughter. A little boy sat next to Hazal, glancing up at Lincoln as he stood behind them both. It didn't take long to tell the boy was now territorial and protective of his new grown up friend. "Hey, bud --" Lincoln greeted, in which the kid continued to glare at him and turn back to his project. Lincoln shook his head and chuckled, "I think you've found yourself another secret admirer, Haz." Lincoln joked, leaning in closer to her. "I'll admit, I like this one better."

Sofia hadn't seen Hazal in a few weeks which meant that they were due for a night out with her favorite girl. Or rather, one of her favorite girls. Shivani was busy with her boyfriend tonight, but since she got to see her before leaving for New York, Sofia gave her a pass. She sat at a table in Poseidon's Bistro, sipping on her drink and waiting for Hazal to join her which should be any minute now according to her friend's last text. Hazal's gift was sitting pretty upon the table, wrapped up neatly with a bow. She had seen that box of chocolates when she was out and about with Arnav and figured she couldn't go wrong with a fancy box of chocolate ganache.

location: rizzo's diner @hazalyildizs
Chiara settled into a corner booth at Rizzo's Diner, the aroma of vanilla and coffee filling the air. She glanced at her phone, smiling as she saw a message from Hazal confirming she was on her way. It had only been a few months since they'd met at pilates, but Chiara already felt a strong bond with her new friend. Hazal's sweet nature and occasional feistiness made their friendship all the more enjoyable. Chiara smiled as Hazal entered the diner, her face lighting up. "Hey, girl!" she waved when the other woman approached.

"Hazal, did you know Arnav said I'm undateable? The match maker can you believe it! Well actually he said he couldn't find me anyone at the moment, which is like basically the same thing." The boy said over dramatically with a flair of his arms as he perused through the records. "Maybe I'll just be a hot spinster, but I'd look so good with a ring on my finger. Maybe I should just tell Matias that once I'm like 34, I'll be his. But anyway enough about me, what's going on with you? Anything demure and mindful to spill?" @hazalyildizs

Was Lincoln taking it upon himself to figure out who could've possibly attacked his girlfriend at the ball? Yes, yeah, he was. He wouldn't explain to anyone exactly how he got the list of the guests, and he knew it would be best that way. However, it didn't help to ease his frustrations. While a list of names helped cut down who it could've been, it didn't give him the direct answer. Therefore, he knew until whoever this was was no longer a threat to Hazal, he'd have to make sure she knew how to protect herself. He couldn't be with her at all times, despite how truly tempting the idea was. He entered the code for the house and entered, Mungo running towards him excitedly. He kneeled down for a moment and rubbed behind the pup's ear, before standing -- the person he needed to see appearing before him. He smiled and closed the distance, laying a kiss upon her head, before heading towards the nearest flat surface. Sitting the bag he held down, he unzipped it, "While I plan to have you well equipped in combat, there's another area I'd like you to be well versed in." He stated, looking over his shoulder, he arched a brow at his girlfriend, "You trust me, right?"

LOCATION: New York City
Lincoln walked into the large state hotel. Mabel flooring, and high ceilings. State of the art decor plastered everywhere as he carried Hazal’s bag and rolled his at his feet. He had to meet Peyton in a few hours, which meant that he and his date had free time to do as they pleased til then. He’d halt to a stop, forcing Hazal to stop as well. He smiled down at her, taking in the radiate features of her face. She had the most pretty eyes. “We didn’t speak about this beforehand, but I think we should make it clear now before we make it to the desk to check in.” He said, “Are you staying with me, or would you like your own room?” He asked, genuinely curious. “I would personally prefer it if I got to wake up to that beautiful face of yours, but you know – precautions.” He started walking again, his head turned to Hazal, “And since we have a few hours before my own hell starts, how do you feel about a date around the big apple?” He asked, “I know a few places I think you’d particularly like.”

It hadn't been a smooth month by any means. Hazal was still dealing with the after math of her stalker, and he was still trying to figure out his new living arrangements with a teenager and a convict. Things had been even somewhat rough between him and Hazal since. He didn't want to overwhelm her, but he also wanted to make sure she knew that he was there and he wasn't going anywhere. Giving her a small smile, he shifted in the booth, resting his arms on the table top, leaning forward. "How are you feeling today?" He asked softy, "Are you sleeping any better?"

From anyone else, Lily would have groaned and told them to get away from her for saying something as cringe as ‘BFF’ at Hazal’s age. It was truly mortifying if anyone were to hear that Lily didn’t immediately respond that way. Not that there were enough people in the world that actually knew her well enough to realize that it was out of character. In fact, the only person that would know this about her was currently sticking her tongue out even more childishly, and this time Lily did not suppress the groan. Nor did she stop herself from lightly punching the other woman’s shoulder and looking out the window as though to put distance between her gaze and the childish act. “You’re really making me question that friendship with you, Hazal. I should have never entertained you while we were in Cali.” It was apparent from her tone that she was teasing, and by this point Hazal would understand her gruff nature to know when she didn’t mean it. “I’ll make it my life’s goal, don’t worry. By hook or by crook, you’ll get your fancy dinner.” Though the stickler that she was, it was unlikely that it was going to be by hook or crook. “But hey, then you wouldn’t have to be slaving away at your corporate job for a boss you hate.” Though even now, it wasn’t like Hazal didn’t have options. Lily was fully confident in her friend’s abilities should she want to switch jobs.
“Baby steps. Besides I’m getting a lot more desk jobby types of cases these days. We have had a bit of turnover and that means we’re understaffed and overworked. So there isn’t as much action for me to get my hands dirty or my body bruised.” Lily said it as though it were a bad thing. Maybe it was by virtue of having so few ties to the material world that she had a bit of a thrill-seeking personality and was an avid risk taker. She needed to feel the adventure and the rush that came from being out in the thick of things, rather than safe and secure behind a desk. As they walked into the restaurant, Lily appraised the possibility of the woman that Hazal was going to be pretending in front of being a psychopath. She tended towards believing that the men were usually the strange ones, but she’d seen one too many cases to prove otherwise to fully generalize. “Do you want me to run a background search on her before you go? I can dig out all the dirty secrets just so you know what you’re getting into.” Lily couldn’t help but laugh when Hazal noted that she needed a hot man in her life. “As hilarious as it would be, I’d feel too guilty seeing your disappointment if you made the trip down to the precinct only to find out that the hottest man we have right now is well past his prime. How do you feel about criminals? Some of them can be quite dashing.” Her tone was again colored with humor. As if she would let her friend date a crook. / @hazalyildizs
Hazal was an adult, or at least she’d like to think that about herself, but while she was around her best friend, she could simply be herself—childish and all. "Yes, we are in third grade. And you're my BFF, deal with it." She said, sticking her tongue out playfully. While she knew Lily wasn't the most affectionate person, it was too bad for her that Haz was. "Okay, fine, no lottery talk. But I'm holding you to that fancy dinner. I expect to be wined and dined, Johnson." She wiggled her brows. “I can’t say I blame you there. I’m the same way. I need to work or I’d go stir crazy.” She would probably set up a small firm and buy out her contract with Wright Inc. At least then she wouldn’t have to be annoyed at work.
“You say that as if I shouldn’t still be worried. It’s progress, at least.” It wasn’t going to stop her from worrying, though. “But seriously, I'm glad you're being safe. I don't know what I'd do without you around to keep me sane." She was joking. Maybe. God knows she needed Lily in her life. As they arrived at the restaurant, Hazal considered Lily's words about Lincoln's ex. "Knowing him, there’s a huge possibility the ex-girlfriend is nuts.” Just like him, though she was nice enough not to repeat it. “I guess I'll have to watch my back. But if she tries anything, I'll just sic you on her. You can show her some of those fancy police moves. I doubt it’ll come to that, though." Furthermore, she wasn’t a weakling either. Yeah, she might not know martial arts, but she had a sharp tongue. At the mention of meeting hot officers, her eyes lit up. "Oh, I am so taking you up on that offer. Not that I’m saying I need a hot man in my life, but it would be nice, you know…”
