“I-I…” You tried to look away, only to find the other two staring back at you now over their shoulders, Shura's lips twisting into a smirk as he blew out the smoke from his lungs into the breeze. “It's okay if you hurt me…I-I can take it.”

“Fuck!” Hayao shuddered, and slipped his sunglasses off the top of his head to toss them aside. The mere motion of him stripping off his leather jacket, and showing off those muscly biceps under his white tee, had you despicably weak in the knees as he descended on you against the tatami.

“Hey, don't go too rough.” Shura commented, as his friend yanked open the flimsy kimono they'd pulled over you after ripping your clothes from your body. “Mako's gonna tear you a new one if you break his new prize.”

The giant groaned, but not out of annoyance, rather in the face of your wet, glossy eyes peering up at him as he pressed his fingers into your opening. He would've had great fun being the one to lube you up in preparation, but that had been Kenji's job–him and his long, cool fingers that had you squirming enough to need his palm on your mouth to muffle you.

Spirited Away to become stage play in Japan

With its fantastic, unique story and setting, SPIRITED AWAY has captured millions of fans around the world. HAYAO MIYAZAKI’s award-winning masterpiece will make history with its world premiere stage production at the Imperial Theatre in Tokyo in February and March 2022. 

Adapted and directed by the director of Les Misérables, John Caird. The heroine, Chihiro, will be double cast with Kanna Hashimoto and Mone Kamishiraishi. The line up also includes Mari Natsuki, original voice actress for Yubaba and Zeniba, as one of the performers for the witches - sharing the role with Romi Park (most of the characters were double cast).

The story begins as Chihiro, a girl who is heading to her family’s new home, goes into a tunnel to find herself lost in the world of gods and supernatural beings. She encounters many spirits, but courageously overcomes their challenges on her way back to the human world. 

The Imperial Theatre will turn into the Bathhouse, inviting the audience to the enchanted world of spirits. Please look forward to this grand project the world has been waiting for!

After Tokyo there will be performances in Osaka (April), Fukuoka (May), Sapporo (June), and Nagoya (June and July)

Meet The Two Chihiro Played by Kanna Hashimoto & Mone Kamishiraishi in Spirited Away Stage Play

    A press conference for the forthcoming stage play adaptation of Hayao Miyazaki's 2001 anime film Spirited Away was held at The Prince Park Tower Tokyo in Tokyo on November 9, and two poster visuals featuring Kanna Hashimoto (Kagura in the Gintama live-action film series) and Mone Kamishiraishi (Mitsuha Miyamizu in Your Name.) as the protagonist Chihiro were revealed for the first time.

  The two actresses will be playing the same role and appearing on the stage on different days. In the poster visuals, Hashimoto is in the uniform of the bathhouse "Aburaya," surrounded by pink flowers. Meanwhile, Kamishiraishi wears Chihiro's personal clothes, a T-shirt and shorts, standing against the blue sky and sea.

    The play will be performed as a commemorative work for the 90th-anniversary of Toho, the original anime film's distributor. Tony Award-winning musical theater director John Caird is attached to direct. The anime film's original soundtrack music composed by Joe Hisaishi will be also featured in the play. General sales of the tickets will begin on December 18, 2021.

Spirited Away Is Getting a Stage Play

Toho has revealed that director Hayao Miyazaki’s legendary anime film Spirited Away will be receiving a stage adaptation in 2022:

Toho Co., Ltd. is delighted to announce the world premiere of a new theatrical production based on Studio Ghibli’s Oscar-winning film SPIRITED AWAY (original title: Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi). This production will be the first ever stage adaptation of the 2001 animated masterpiece by Hayao Miyazaki which became a massive box office hit in Japan and earned worldwide acclaim including Academy Award for Best Animated Feature of 2002. The Tony and Olivier Award-winning director and Honorary Associate Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company, John Caird (Les Misérables, Nicholas Nickleby, Daddy Long Legs), who has been an admirer of the film for years will write and direct the stage adaptation.

Chihiro, the heroine of the story, is a 10-year-old girl moving with her parents to their new home. They lose themselves in a mysterious world of fantastic spirits, ruled over by the sorceress Yubaba, who turns Chihiro’s parents into pigs. After a series of bizarre and dangerous challenges, including the loss of her identity, Chihiro must use all her wits to survive in this strange place and return to the human world. The story of her struggle and resilience is a timeless gift to all of us, but especially to those striving to live through these present difficult times.

“I feel so excited and privileged to be working on the first ever stage adaptation of Sen to Chihiro.  I have for many years now regarded Miyazaki Hayao as one of the pre-eminent geniuses of world cinema and the greatest ever proponent of the anime form.

The double casting in the part of Chihiro will give me the chance to work again with the brilliant and charming Kamishiraishi Mone, with whom I had such an exciting collaboration on Knights’ Tale, and now affords me the same opportunity with the greatly talented, vivacious and moving young actress Hashimoto Kanna.

Chihiro will be double-cast by Kanna Hashimoto and Mone Kamishiraishi. Kanna, who has starred and appeared in many films, will be making her long-awaited stage debut. Mone, known internationally for voicing in the film ‘Your Name’, has been delighting Japanese audiences with her versatile acting and singing talents.

SPIRITED AWAY will be presented at Toho’s Imperial Theatre located at 3-1-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo from February through March, 2022. The production will then tour to Osaka (April), Fukuoka (May), Sapporo (June), Nagoya (June and July).

Yakushima island (屋久島）: Ancient mystic Forest in Japan

Have you ever seen one of the famous Japanese animation movies “Princess Mononoke” (directed by  Hayao Miyazaki and produced by Studio Ghibli ,well known as “Spirited Away“ )? If so, you may know where this place is.

Do you want to feel spirits of the forest? (the story of the movie is connected to Japanese native religion Shintoism and animism) If you want, you should visit this place! There are primary forests areas in Yakushima.

Why Yakushima is so special?

Yakushima island was designated a UNESCO world heritage site in1993. There are 46 mountain peaks over 1000 meters high in this small island and it’s called “Alps in the ocean”. The geographical future of the island cause a variety of climates and its unique ecosystem. It rain 35days a month in the island and this rainfall creates misty atmosphere of the forests.

There are 1500 kinds of natural plants (which covers over 70% flora of Japan) and over 50 kinds of endemic flowers, hundreds of rare bryophyta and trees in Yakushima. so that it’s called “Galapagos islands of Japan”.

Location and Access

Yakushima is located in southern coast of Japan. There is no direct flight connection from outside of Japan.

To access Yakushima Island, fly directly to Yakushima Airport when coming from Osaka and Fukuoka. When coming from other areas, go to Kagoshima by airplane or Shinkansen and then change to an airplane or a high speed ship or a ferry. When using a ship or ferry, please keep in mind the following: it takes about 55 minutes by bus from Kagoshima Airport to the boarding site of the ship or ferry, the schedule changes depending on the season, the ship or ferry will be cancelled in case of bad weather, and you need to confirm the destination as there are 2 boarding sites of the high speed ship in Yakushima Island.

Please also remember that most of the trekking area is UNESCO protected land and there are rules and regulations in place to protect it:

Always consider the plant and wildlife

Whatever you bring into the area, make sure to take it all back out with you at the end of the trek.  Bring extra plastic bags for waste etc

Do not use the rivers and streams as toilets, and use the water with respect ie. do not pollute with detergent.  Toilets are few and far between, so always make use of a toilet at the beginning of a trail head or at the mountain huts.  Special (green) toilet bags are available at various outlets around the island should you find yourself in a place that has no toilet.

No open fires.  Bring camping stove equipment with you and only use designated camping areas.

Do not feed the wildlife; notably the deer and monkeys.  Once these animals have a taste for 'human' food then the local farmers suffer terribly as crops are destroyed and whatever you are giving the animals is unlikely to be good for them. This is a big issue on the island.

Please donate 500 yen to the Yakushima Mountain Protection group.  This money is largely used for sewage collection from the mountain hut toilets.

When I watched “Princess Mononoke” for the first time, I thought the location of this movie did not exist in Japan. I was a little, and I did not notice that the story was connected to our cultures and customs. It is an ancient time story of an imaginary forest. Actually,that’s a fiction but the forest is not just a creation. Now, I know how important it is. As a Japanese, we’re unconsciously believing invisible spirits in the nature. In general, the Japanese are not religious people. But I realize that we believe a lot of myth, and that influence our social behavior as a Japanese.

Makoi would be so pissed, but not for the reason you think. Of course, you probably wouldn't realize it until the baby is born with crystal-clear eyes or a face full of freckles just like their real father, but even when you find out it isn't Makoi's his anger isn't exactly what you would expect. He's the one that let Hayao moon over you in the first place, so it would be a bit hypocritical of him to go ahead and take it out on him after all. And he kind of passes over the fact that the baby isn't his, and he's honestly just frustrated that they're so damn cute!! Plus, watching you recover and seeing your body change as you adjust to the baby weight among a host of other things is really fucking hot. The month following your birth is a long and tortuous one when he can't even think about bedding the mother of his (kind of) child, and though he knows that at some point he's probably gonna have to knock you up himself so you'll have a legitimate Azumako heir, he's in no rush.
