waiting for the sun to smile on everyone
This is a series about the long road home. Danny is an alcoholic. Jason Todd dies. Moving forward doesn't mean moving on, but someday you find yourself having done so anyway. Actions always have consequences, but everything is as it is supposed to be. Probably. (An unrelated and outside POV adjacent to what happens when you punch the Multiverse. A Crisis on Infinite Earths, indeed.)
took me forever to come up with that. but anyway... the post-nasty burger explosion (long) fic i always dreamed of (jk)
(series [rated M] spoilers ahead)
lost in the universe timeline (litu au, lol) [AO3]
like, c'mon, Vlad would be the worst person to take in Danny after that, right? He'd try, and be pretty confident he could finagle his way through it, but, uh. yeah, that wouldn't work.
[pre-story] Danny cheats on the CAT. The TUE Nasty Burger explosion happens. He goes to live with Vlad, who is ill-equipped to raise a grieving superpowered child. Danny rips out his ghost half on his own, and then attempts to commit suicide. He does not succeed, and develops not only severe identity issues but also an alcohol addiction. He also stumbles over some new powers and makes a deal with the Ring of Rage and Crown of Flames — he can create doors to the GZ and has empathic abilities in exchange for becoming the Ghost King when he turns 18. He runs away when he turns 18 instead and ends up in Gotham. He spends about a year and half on the streets doing manual labor and illegal meta fighting matches before getting a job at Gotham General Hospital. This overlaps with Jason’s death, resurrection, coma, and escape — canon diverges further when he gets sent to Gotham General again after being picked up by the police before Talia can grab him. Jason doesn't remember anything before his death, and it's just him and Danny figuring themselves and each other out for the first three (four) main parts of the series, which ends with a chance encounter with Dick and Tim. [part 4] Tim and Dick investigate Danny, and determine that Jasper is Jason, and that Danny is a meta. Timeline issues are rampant and apparent. Danny saves their universe from the multiverse collapse/gravity pull to singularity of Infinite/Final Crisis which is happening at the same time as the OG Danny Phantom TUE events in another timeline.
hell is a warm place au
a what if to when Danny was on the street... he almost kills someone in the fighting dens. This impresses Jay, Lark, and Crow, the Penguin's most loyal trio. So, Danny is sorta pressured but jumps at the chance to gain somewhat steady employment. He gets free drinks out of it too, so it could be worse? At the same time, Arthur Brown (Cluemaster) returns to Gotham and just like. Doesn't go back to his wife or kid because why? So Stephanie Brown (who kinda sorta takes Jasper's place in this timeline) doesn't become Robin. She does get a job at the Iceberg Lounge though, and a name even: Finch, from the pariah of the club, Goose (Danny.) She hits him with the brick though.
mr fear au
Danny accidently kills someone in the meta fighting dens, and goes right off the deep end. Turns out he can get the most fantastic high off of Fear Toxin. He also saves Scarecrow from Killer Croc. Johnathan Crane finds Danny very, very interesting. Too interesting. *coughs* Tim (who kinda sorta takes Jasper's place in this timeline) isn't happy about it.
eat the heart au
Time Slip Baby Damian + Danny who is Selina's age (31) by the 'main' start to the story. A what if, concerning a fight between Danny and Gotham from the main timeline. She loses. He loses. Everyone loses, Damian (Ivan) most of all; it's a No Man's Land timeline. Danny has a duplicate named Jake, who is just a funny guy. Identity issues abound between these two. Cassandra makes a friend.
ultraviolet heart au
Danny dies. This is about what's left behind. A (Teen) Titans AU. Umbrax Sees You.
the visitant and the island of misfit toys
post-agit. A Glitch in Time is a by-product of Dark Crisis. Danny is unamused. Klarion is having a great time. Jason would like to get off this ride.
#litu au#hell is a warm place au#eat the heart au#mr fear au#the visitant au#ultraviolet heart au#batpoopwrite#dpxdc#dpxdc fanfic#idk ill blab more at length eventually...#dp x dc#again the fic is rated M so peruse the actual fic tags i regularly bring people to tears allegedly >w>;;;

Imagine being Namor's Wife and and stopping him from killing Queen Ramonda
Side Note: After Black Panther Wakanda Forever first came out someone posted. This fic idea saying someone should write it I was kind of inspired by never got around to it. Well here it is and to the original person who came up with it. I hope you enjoy.
Italics is english translation.
No one had seen where you come from. One minute it was the thick glass window between Namor and Queen Ramonda with the two locked into an intense staring contest.
Namor eyes filled with anger as his gaze turned to the young girl.
Queen Ramonda refused to back down reaching out a hand to move Riri behind her. Hiding the young girl from his prying eyes.
The action just fuel his burning desire for revenge and war even more. Namor let out a raging cry bringing his spare up, and Queen Ramonda stood her ground watching him preparing to stab through the window. She was confident the glass would hold and even if it didn't. The King of Talokan would still have to strike her down first before she let him touch the girl.
The spear was getting closer and closer to her face and then Namor paused his attack. The tip of his weapon resting inches from your nose as you stood before him arms crossed with a raised eyebrow.
"In yukanj" He whispered in surprise his eyes softening at your sudden appearance.
"Yes my love its me your lovely wife who entrusted you with one simple task. One that you promised me you could handle alone while I went off to lead the Americans astray to buy us more time." You scolded him shaking your head in disappointment. You wanted to be surprised by your husband's actions, but unfortunately you couldn't be. His hatred for mankind and the surface world had always been insatiable. It was your patience, his love and respect for you that kept those intrusive thoughts of invading world on land at bay.
You always hoped overtime maybe Namor would gain a new perspective on humans. But you should've known it was never going to happen especially with. The lack of sympathy after the events of Thanos invading Earth. Talokan had been affected by the snap as well, and you wanted to join the fight. Namor insisted that both of you stay out of it as it was a surface world problem. You should've seen all this coming your heart clenched at the sight of. All the destruction your husband and the Talokan's army had brought upon Wakanda.
It wasn't right. Countless lives lost for no reason. The murderous look you sent towards Namora and Attuma had both Generals cowering in fear. They called off the rest of the army and disappeared in the depths of the ocean without a word. You were going to deal with them later.
"Invadieron k otoch in yaakunaj kíins juntúul u le nuestros." He explained lowering his spear back to his side. They invaded our home my love killed one of our own.
Ti' ka' ta wuk'aj u princesa. Le k'áate' paal le Reina yéetel le ts'o'ok u internet ichil k'i'ik'el." You argued back pointing a finger over your shoulder at the woman behind you. After you took their Princess. The Queen's only child and the last of her bloodline.
Namor frowned. "Bix a wojel tales ba'alo'ob?" How do you know such things?
"Querías u Wakanda ka Talokan u convirtieran ti' aliados ti', máasima'. Tin tukultaj u sería útil mantener k'iin yéetel." You wanted Wakanda and Talokan to become allies right. I thought it would be helpful to stay up to date on information.
Namor scoffed earning a raised eyebrow at you. He hovered around you to land on the platform as well. "Wa k meentik u sometan ta To'one', Talokan yaan u sukbenilo'ob asab poderosa ti' le yóok'ol kaaba'. U yaalab le yóok'ol kaaba' le superficie caerá le kan k'iin." If we make them submit to us Talokan will be the most powerful nation in the world. The rest of the surface world will fall when the day comes.
A loud clapping noise filled the air and even the Wakandans heard it. As well as they witnessed your hand come up to smack Namor across the face. The stinging slap had his left cheek turning red.
His head snapped to the side from the force of it, and you waited for him to turn back to you with guilt in his eyes.
"Ku suponía u debías negociar jump'éel tratado Jets' óolal yéetel leti'ob. Utia'al u pudieran wáantik ti' le estadounidenses alejados ti' k wotoch. Tu cambio ta meentaj jump'éel rabieta bey juntúul chan xi'ipal petulante ka u negaron ceder." You were supposed to negotiate a peace treaty with them. So they could help keep the Americans away from our home. Instead you threw a tantrum like a petulant child when they refused to yield.
"In yakunaj" He pleaded with you.
"No Namor we talked about this" You said backing him away from him to run a hand through your wet hair. Your eyes drifted to the people standing before you. All of them regarded you with wonder and suspicion. The damage your husband caused wasn't beyond repair, but it was going to take a lot. For starters he had to be on the same page as you.
You went over to him to cup his face between your hands lifting his face back up. "Wakanda ka Talokan serán imparables wa k unimos bey juntúul chéen, ba'ale' ma' u páajtal meentik jump'éel alianza ichil le desconfianza yéetel le odio. Yaan k k'aax le bey chíikbesik." Wakanda and Talokan will be unstoppable if we come together as one, but you can't build an alliance off the back of distrust and hatred. We have to treat them as our own.
Namor closed his eyes and sighed "I'm sorry."
"You need to tell them that" You instructed nodding your head in the Queen's direction.
You took a step back watching as Namor turned to face Queen Ramonda, her daughter Shuri, and their guards. He laid his spear down on the platform and backed away placing the palms of his hands together and curling his fingers in.
Inside The Palace
Shuri reached out grasping her mother's arm. "I think he is surrendering."
"How can we be sure? Who is the woman?" Queen Ramonda questioned.
"The woman is his wife. He told she wanted peace between Talokan and Wakanda." Shuri explained meeting your soft eyes that seem to bore into her soul inviting her into your own world. She felt as if she could trust you.
You gave her a small apologetic smile and followed suit with giving her Talokan greeting.
"What does that mean?" Nakia asked this time a bit unsure.
"She's saying hello and maybe sorry at the same time. She wants to talk and I think we should listen." Shuri told them.
"I don't think that would be a wise idea" M'Baku voiced his concern.
Queen Ramonda watched as Namor stood by your side with his weapon still at his feet. Gone was the hatred in his eyes replaced now with shame as he barely met her gaze. You had that effect on him. If you were anything like your husband. She could possibly be injured or even worse dead by now.
"We will hear them out" She announced.
Everyone in the throne room let out collective gasps expect Shuri.
"Just one more question though" Okoye started waiting till Shuri turned to her.
"Where has she been all this time?"

Hidan lore overthinking! Sorry bad english
The little information of Hidan's life completly brings Red flags all over.
OK. That one thing on the books when his whole village blamed a child Hidan for maybe killing an entire clan makes me think what kind of child they saw him as to be able to do all of that. Even if they confirmed later the Chinoike Clan killed each other, they still thought damn what if this fucking child killed them all.
This also means Hidan as a child thought to go to the place called "the Valley of Hell" where the Chinoike Clan got exiled to. Towards a clan that was dangerous af, and were also scary. The Valley of Hell was also referred as unlivable and smelling of sulfur. No one stopped him, who knows how long it takes from Yugakure to the Valley.
Then he finds the entire fucking dead, massacred by each other. Runs back to his village tells everyone and first thing they do is blame him.
By pure speculation of numbers, Hidan must've been 6 when the war ended. Which is not great. Getting raised through war probably did affect him as well. I know there's no information of Yugakure involvement in that war, but it's in the middle of the Land of fire and the Land of lightning so.
No information regarding parents so either:
Parent's whos kid left the village to a place called the Valley of Hell
No parents
No clue
Also the general idea of raising kids as soldiers and killing machines, and expecting it to be all good. To then be like: "fuck you were getting rid of the military" which how much Hidan talks about fighting like "letting steam off" (seperated to Jashin stuff) he must've liked fighting. It was an insult to him.
Also the Akatsuki have S rank Rouge Ninjas right? Was Hidan a top ninja at his village? Then we get the lack of Ninjutsu and Getsutsu. The symbol of jashin, the blood connection and immortality are never considered as anything jutsu right? These guy it's full Taijutsu and Jashin (which the fact that's never EVER explained that's crazy).
He called himself the slower attacker of the Akatsuki, but that's still crazy fast. He has a demonic momentum, even in the air moving his scythe around. He his beyond athletic too. (Go look at him skipping and spining Shikamaru's shadow).
His fighting is reckless. He throws himself in cause he knows he can't get killed and he is overconfident. But it's better being fast an eratic cause his main thing getting blood, That's why his weapon it's the way it is. He also relies a lot on his ritual and Kakuzu. He never expects people pulling him off his circle. -and when his head cut off he just relies on Kakuzu helping him out any ways.
It's said, he found Jashinism when he wanted to leave the village for demilitarizing. There is theories that Jashin isn't real nor the religion at all, and that Hidan it's immortal by chance. Like Hashirama healing factor being so good. So this mf got Immortal regen or something at birth. If he gained immortality otherwise, affecting the reality of his religion is also out there.
Hidan's approach to religion is also weird. Options: He belives a lie or he made it up and knows it's bullshiting OR it's real.
Hidan prays for LONG amounts of time (which Kakuzu complains about often) would he made up waiting for 30 minutes long just because? Or he belives in needing to pray for that long. Hidan constanly complains about "Kakuzu if this is another of your extra money missions i'm gonna be pissed! Let's just go for the Jinchuriki" I find it weird he would be 30 minutes praying in the ground if he didn't belive the HAD to do it (Disconnected to any validity to Jashisim). Hidan did try to annoy others (mainly Kkz) on porpose so much so... BUT he also referes to praying like 'a pain in the ass, but the comaments are very clear'.
Idk which is crazier: He doesn't believe it and made up shit he even complains about in his religion just to get something out of it (like a justification or martyrs) OR he fully believed in it and still was like "shit i have to pray 30 minutes for this bullshit".
ok... Important part here:
CAUSE WHY TF did Hidan get such a center persective during the Akatsuki plan exposition? (during the 2 tails extraction). He was the newest member ""besides Tobi"" and we got and explanation towards him from Pain himself (fish out the water, the character doesn't know something so they get a explanation so the audience gets it too). I think how the time frames got written sound pretty different based on other stuff but that doesn't matter. He jumps and critics the Akatsuki and Pain directly, we also get him gritting his teeth. Like damn we got introduced to an inner conflict of Hidan's believes against the akatsuki for no reason????? Right after this we also get a positive interaction with Kakuzu and Hidan. Kakuzu doesn't get mad at him for being so againts the leader, and gives him his headband instead. (which he kept tight on his arm for those 3 days of 2 tails extraction) His headband must also be unique compared to others that village no longer has ninja so getting another one can't even be a thing really.
I'm sad their arc was rushed and plenty of stuff got cut. But I understand the circuntsances: crazy schedule, Kishimoto sick, an arc centering someone other than Naruto.
Kakuzu prison and hashirama backstory was obviously there but we didn't get it. Hidan getting his backstory in extra material is also insane. I have no idea if the plan was still killing them by the end of a (longer version) of the arc or not. But maybe they would've gotten Sasori treatment. Get their backstories before they lose. They were the only ones that got cut short so much (besides Konan but she got the backstory in full flashbacks at least).
Kishimoto even had more extra funtions for Hidan's Scythe too. Constantly getting small answers about Hidan in random interviews with him also show what else there was to add to him. +Saying Hidan was his fav Akatsuki and villan too. Sad he also cut Hidan coming back in the war arc cause he had put so many characters, but he probably felt he couldn't do all he wanted to do with him- so left it there.
aka. I love Hidan's character :)

✂ 𝔹𝔸𝔹𝔼𝕋𝕋𝔼 / 𝔸ℙℙℝ𝕆𝕍𝔸𝕃 a way too long post with useless information
Babette likes being in other's good books, and appreciates when the player offers help without wanting something in return. Despite rather approving of safe decisions, she is inspired by acts of charity and heroism in general. The player does not have to be completely "good" to gain her approval. Avoiding conflict with decisions that leave both parties amicable (even when ultimately deceiving the opponent) will raise Babette's approval.
Babette dislikes displays of cruelty, unnecessary violence and overly judgmental behavior towards NPCs. She disapproves when the Player does not offer support and understanding for her pact. Babette shows much dependence towards the Player and will lose approval should they leave her alone with all decisions.
────────────────────────
✂ 𝐆𝗿𝐞𝐞𝘁𝐢𝐧𝐠𝘀
Depending on her approval rating, Babette may greet the player with:
Negative (-10):
• "Oh, you." • "Make it quick, I am busy." • "Fine, what is it?"
Neutral and up (above -10):
• "Anything I can assist you with?" • "You need help?" • "Ah, hello. What made you walk over?" • "Anything you want to share?"
When spoken to by someone other than the player character:
• "Apologies, but we need to focus, right? No talking now."
────────────────────────
𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞
Flirting:
• "Good to see you again. What's the matter?" • "I know this look - Don't leave me waiting now." • "By far my favorite chatting partner. How are you doing?" • "Hello, hello. I hoped you would come over."
Partnered:
• "And I was worried I couldn't smile today. Anything you need?" • "Whatever it is, I can't wait to help you out. Honestly." • "Your worries are mine. Ask ahead - We will make it matter."
Broken up:
• "Hm?" • "What's the matter?"
────────────────────────
𝐀𝐟𝘁𝐞𝗿 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝘁𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝘅𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐦𝘀𝘁𝗿𝐞𝘀𝘀
Hag:
• "Such ripe eyes. Tell me what makes them look so quizzical?" • "Looking for a distraction?" • "Ah, I was wondering when you would show up again."
Broken pact:
• "You need an open ear? I owe you this much at the very least." • "Your ever-loyal seamstress, at your service." • "Greetings! What would you like to talk about?" • "Something important? I can take important."
────────────────────────
𝐃𝐚𝗿𝐤 𝐔𝗿𝐠𝐞 𝐞𝘅𝐜𝐥𝘂𝘀𝐢𝘃𝐞

Sing a Little Song For Me
Part 2 of several drabbles that are in no particular order so enjoy.
Warnings: Mentions of death, Mentions of dead bodies, Canon levels of violence, canon levels of war, foul-mouthed MC, child kidnapping, Quaritch is still his own warning, enemies to lovers, English is my first language but I suck at it
Photo not mine
Pairing: eventual Colonel Miles Quaritch x Na’vi/Avatar named f!reader/oc appearance not really described
Rated 18+ kids
Words: 1.1k+
I didn't care if they could hear me as I crashed through the foliage after them, keeping up with them just enough to not lose them "Spider!" I called, not caring that there was desperation in my voice in front of the enemy.
"Mom!" He yelled back, his voice ragged as he grunted like he was struggling. "Mom!" He called again before a hail of bullets forced me to find cover, even at the cost of ground. "No! Leave her alone! Mom!" Spider called desperately, sounding like he was struggling harder.
"Enough!" Quaritch barked as a dropship lowered enough for them to leave on it.
I sprinted to close the distance in a last ditch attempt to get him back, not caring about the chances that I'd get shot "No! Spider!" I cried as Quaritch made it up onto the dropship with Spider, smiling ferally down at me for a moment, a moment that I took full advantage of as I knocked an arrow, pulling it back and loosing it with just enough aim to be confident there was no way in hell it was hitting Spider. Quaritch quickly dodged with wide fearful eyes, the arrow imbedding itself where his head had been not a blink prior as I snarled up at him, someone forming a voiceless curse before the dropship was cruising away at speed. I stewed the entire jog back to the shack, plotting the best way to get Spider back from the genocidal maniac turned avatar pilot. Out of all the facts I had at that moment, the fact that Colonel Miles Quaritch, xenophobic homicidal asshole turned bogeyman we used to scare children into behaving, was back from the dead, and in a Na'vi body to boot. Karma was a hilarious bitch sometimes.
I looted the bodies by the shack, they certainly didn't need the kit, and we needed every little bit we could get. I didn't bother to look at any of their faces or tags as I collected useful bits and bobs, guns and ammunition finding their way over my shoulders and slung across my hips, fanny packs of medicine and bandages and other little things also found their way around my torso. I finished out the hunt with the sniper rifle, taking every round the Avatar had on his person before finally leaving, back to the clearing so that Thor could actually land. "Where have you been?" Jake hissed like an over worried mother as soon as Thor was settled on the perch, his ears back as his eyes studied me with concern and frustration.
"Took a shot at Colonel Dick-For-Brains and then looted a bit. Got some good stuff, they gave the best shit to those losers." I smiled tightly at him as I began to unload my person, keeping the sniper rifle and equipment away from the general pile so that it wouldn't get carried off.
"I'm being serious, Ani!" He snapped at me, latching onto the anger I had given him.
"I am too, Jake!" I snarled right back, wheeling around to face him head on, stepping over the small pile of spoils to gain ground, making him back away in alarm. I'd never acted that way towards him, had never snapped so aggressively at him. He raised his hands in surrender and backed up further, letting me have the space I so desperately needed. My shoulders were heaving with deep angry breaths that quickly changed into barely contained sobs "He took Spider, Jake. He took him, and I couldn't save him." Sobs leaked out as I spoke, tears pouring down my face as I tried physically holding myself together "He's gonna torture him! Oh god! Oh Eywa!" Like the last fiber of an old rope, my resolve snapped, leaving me a sobbing mess. Jake was instantly collecting me in a hug, shushing me as best as he could.
"I know, I know." He murmured into my hair "Kiri told us. She's really broken up about it." I nodded mutely, no longer able to trust my voice. "He's a strong kid, got a double dose of stubborn from his parents, and he's resourceful. He'll be alright, I can almost promise it." He reassured me, saying all the right things to give me hope. Neither of us spoke for a few minutes, both enjoying the comfort the other brought while it lasted "We're leaving the Omaticaya, they want you and I, and they won't stop until either they have us, or we're dead. And they'll kill anyone and everyone to get to us." My stomach dropped with his words as I pulled away from him, knowing that he was right "We started this, all those years ago--"
"They started it," I cut him off firmly, leaving no room for argument "and we finished it. We can finish it again." I sniffed, wiping my tears away with newfound determination "I hope this bastard pre-wrote his own eulogy again." I growled at no one in particular, resolved to kill him again and again, as many times as needed until humanity got the hint and fucked right off.
Jake smiled tiredly, nodding as he clapped me on the shoulder "I'll arrange everything with the Clan, pass the mantle." I could see the pain it caused him to leave the people who had accepted us so firmly, who we'd fought and bled beside battle after battle. But it was our duty to keep them safe, no matter the cost to ourselves. I nodded, gripping his forearm until he was pulling away. Thor cooed on his roost and I bit my lip in displeasure, knowing that I was going to miss him terribly.
He seemed to know something was wrong as soon as I was back in his sight line, cocking his head to the side slightly and not taking his eyes off of me as I closed the distance, pace by pace. As soon as I was close enough, one of my braids was between his beak, just holding it aloft gently as he watched me expectantly, cooing softly at my forlorn expression "I have to leave with my family, to keep the People safe. The humans want Jake and I, and they won't stop until they have us." I sighed and closed my eyes, not bearing to keep meeting his gaze, instead brushing his muzzle tenderly "I'm not going to ask you to come with me. I'm not going to ask you to leave your home." I announced firmly, though I still couldn't look at him without wanting to cry. He dropped my braid and tapped me with a kuru, searching for mine, wanting to communicate more solidly. As soon as tsaheylu was made, he was adamant about not leaving my side, that if I was in danger, he'd be there for every little bit of it. I met his gaze with tears falling down my cheeks, making him coo as he gently brought me in against his chest for a sort of embrace. "Thank you." I sniffled, hiding my face near one of his chest vents. I didn't want anyone else to see me cry, not there, not then.

various fe fates premise/worldbuilding rewritey ideas i've been pondering...
since i've been replaying conquest recently and am once again frustrated with this game's writing
first, as a way of making garon non absolutely definitively evil AND bake anankos's involvement into the game's base premise, having garon NOT kidnap corrin intentionally. corrin is separated from sumeragi on that business trip after their party was attacked by vallite soldiers as anankos wanted to either kill or retrieve his child. corrin is found by nohrians and brought to windmire when they are found to have dragon blood... POWERFUL dragon blood. they suffer the same memory loss like canon. hoshido asks for corrin back, garon refuses since their draconic blood isn't that of the dawn (or even dusk) dragon and he is concerned hoshido wants to use them as a weapon or otherwise does not have their best interests in mind. garon does not believe that corrin is hoshidan because they don't even LOOK hoshidan
corrin still going to the northern fortress but not out of malevolence. it's genuinely for their own health. the attack on sumeragi awakened corrin's dragon form for the first time, but without a dragonstone, they were unable to control it as in canon. they CONTINUE to be unable to control the instincts, which were often triggered by the stressful environment of the concubine wars, so garon sent them far from castle krakenburg to avoid more incidents for their and other's safety. visiting was restricted for a while, but as things settled they were seen often by garon + their siblings.
corrin knows their vague origin, that garon isn't their actual father, but still acknowledges him as such (and garon acknowledges them as their child). they also remember how bad things were during the concubine wars and are both accepting of why they were sent there and somewhat hesitant to leave
more general things of garon being a semi decent father. the manga had a really good part where garon recognised leo's mother in him for an instant and called him that. more please
because of garon being less definitively evil, the hoshidan Throne Of Truth being a way to purge anankos's influence and expose garon's TRUE self i.e. save him rather than expose anankos as in canon. this may be an idea raised by corrin/azura but perhaps even better would be for it to be GARON HIMSELF'S plan as he tries to rid himself of possession without anankos catching on. this being his plan in all three routes but only coming to fruition in conquest... where the throne doesn't work as planned and garon is killed when anankos is brought to the surface
garon being possessed by anankos in the first place as he tries to research what was going on with corrin. he reached many correct conclusions but unfortunately walked right into anankos's grasp. he doesn't want to be possessed, tries to resist the possession (directly and in more subtle ways as in above) but as time goes on, the more his condition degrades
fun idea => awakening trio being accepted so easily by garon as they are a) informed of valla etc., able to steer xander/camilla/leo from the same trap garon fell into with anankos and b) POTENTIALLY able to slow down anankos's possession of him?
an exploration of what the 'skies changing' mentioned in revelations even IS. it is the act of hoshido's sky becoming dark and nohr's becoming light (or vice versa). canon states it happens 'once every few decades', but nobody really knows when it will occur as there is no way of predicting it
the skies changing defining the way both nations act.
nohr, deprived of fertile land and harvest, conquers other nations to gain the resources they need to survive. inequality and poverty is rife as its citizens scramble for the limited available sustenance. even the royal family does not live in luxury and are themselves well-acquainted with not being able to secure food
hoshido, with bright skies and plentiful harvests but knowing that no matter what they do their prosper is temporary, stockpiling resources in preparation for their oncoming long night. its citizens are satisfied but on guard, particularly the older ones that recall its former famines. the royal family, understanding the duty it has to its own citizens when night falls, is reluctant to send aid to other nations. a particular incident is when mokushu had an outbreak, hoshido refused to send medical supplies despite them being allies, which is what caused mokushu's current disdain towards hoshido.
the skies changing is why the two nations have never been able to coexist. even though hoshido currently exists with a surplus, and there could well be enough resources at any given time to adequately support BOTH nations, there is no precedent for either country ever sharing their sustenance when they can access it. neither country will make the first step because there is no guarantee that the favour will be paid back when the skies change again.
garon and mikoto's rule being equally informed by past precendents and desire to survive/fear for the future respectively
garon, as alluded to in canon but never shown, is-slash-was a very good ruler that did a very good job maintaining order in the country, ensuring nobody least of all the royal family is permitted to hoard while others are left to starve. things have only degenerated in recent years as anankos's possession has taken its toll on his ability to rule and food shortages continue to worsen. YES he conquers nations but certainly in the past only when trade deals failed or were unviable => nohr had plenty struggles with these as it is currently unable to offer much except manpower and protection, which not all nations need or appreciate. nohr's view is that they would rather conquer others than allow their own citizens to starve, and for a long time garon has been appreciated by his citizens for doing what must be done
mikoto being cautious above all else, very aware of and fearing what's to come as described above. further, her coldness towards other nations being informed by corrin's kidnapping and sumeragi's death--which she believes was done by nohr. azura, by the way, was still kidnapped in retaliation for nohr's alleged actions.
mikoto also should not die in the prologue. just saying. she should be allowed to stand equally with garon as a good yet flawed ruler that is unable to see past the present and make the necessary first step to a better future
lots of general themes about smaller nations on the continent always being pushed around by the two superpowers' squabbles over resources
#95% of my ideas are nohr-focused bc i only care about nohr. sorry. that's where my blorbos are#(did not even finish birthright)#some of my ideas are informed by various fe fates rewrite videos i've watched => shoot me an ask if you want links they're pretty good#this game has such an issue tho with moral greyness or to be precise its FAILURE at moral greyness#birthright is the only reasonable choice nohr is so LAUGHABLY evil#and i have not even touched iago and hans yet because oh dear#that's a subject#ahem#fire emblem#fire emblem fates#fe14#fe fates#corrin#corrin fire emblem#garon#garon fire emblem

Yay! If you'd like I think Kelpie!Thomas Shelby could be fab. I used to have a fairytale book where a kelpie in the form of a grey horse went on land to gain a bride since he was lonely. After he tricked a girl to jump on his back he dragged her underwater into his palace where he transformed into a handsome young man. I think a no nonsense reader that would go "Nah, fam. Normal horses dont have eyes like that. I don't mess with the fair folk." could be fun. Hence some serious trickery from him to get her to ride him. Tommy sure is strange and handsome enough to be fae. Also the general water and equestrian associations suit him I think.
Last fic of 2022!!!
Fucking hell, where has this year gone???
I hope you guys like the fic :D

Ever since you were a child you had always been warned to stay away from the canals. To avoid going near them, especially after dark. If you have to walk by them always make sure to go with someone. Most importantly, if you ever see a horse by the water- run. Run away and don’t look back.
When you were a child you used to lap up thee creepy stories and took them to heart. You were only by the water under the careful watch of your parents. You never went there after dark, even if your parents were with you. However, as you grew older your belief in these stories waned. They just became another method for your parents to control you (or at least you believed). You began to venture out near sunset and when you eventually moved out, stayed out after dark.
Which was when you saw it.
It was late one night and a chill was just settling in the air. You were walking home after a late night working in a pub and you decided to walk by the canal. The only sound was the soft click of your heels. You were about halfway through your route when you saw it. The most beautiful horse you had ever seen. It was standing in the middle of the water and when you stopped it slowly walked over to you. There wasn’t even a ripple in the water when it walked over to you and you found yourself rooted to the spot. When it was right in front of you, you found yourself slowly raising a hand to touch it.
Then you remembered the stories from your childhood and like a flash you removed your hand. You shook your head and glared at the horse, the horse with the brightest blue eyes you had ever seen.
“Nice try,” you said, “But I’m not giving in that easily.”
You continued on your way home, wrapping your arms around you tightly. You never thought that those stories had been true. Even though you had seen the horse someone you still didn’t completely believe it. It just seemed too unbelievable to be true. You looked behind you and the uneasiness increased when you realised that the horse wasn’t there anymore.
“It’s dangerous for a young lady to be walking by herself so late at night.”
You spun around and saw no one. You blinked at the darkness and then jumped as the click of a lighter cut through the silence. A flame danced in the blackness and lit up the face of the most infamous man in Birmingham. You had also been warned against the Shelby’s and not just because of the obvious reasons.
‘Stay away from the Shelby family,’ your mother had told you one day, ‘For darkness lies within them.’
You swallowed thickly and took a step away from him.
“Mr Shelby.” You said as you tried to stop the shake in your voice
“Tommy.” He corrected you, smiling at your nervousness
“I’m quite safe,” you said, “I’ve taken this route home hundreds of times before.”
“I wonder why.”
“I said-“
“I’ll walk you home.”
The tone of Tommy’s voice told you that there was no room for argument. It was a peaceful silence which you weren’t expecting from the gangster. You took the cigarette he offered you as the two of you continued your walk in the darkness. However, there was something you couldn’t quite put your finger on. Tommy, seeing to sense your growing unease, looked over at you.
“What’s wrong.” He stated
“Nothing. Just tired.”
“Don’t lie to me y/n.”
You frowned, coming to a halt.
“How do you know my name?” you asked
Tommy walked several more steps before stopping. He didn’t turn around and took another drag out his cigarette. He looked at you over his shoulder and said,
“It’s late. You really should be home.”
He didn’t wait for your response as he continued to walk. It was then that you realised what it was that had been bothering you. It sounded like Tommy was walking on wet ground but it hadn’t been raining.
“It was you,” you said, “The horse.”
Tommy sighed and once again stopped. He turned around and you found yourself frozen to the spot. You wished that you had the strength to run away but it was as through your blood had turned to ice.
“It would’ve easier for you if you just accepted my offer.” He said
“Offer?”
“Yes,” Tommy slowly walk over to you, “But it seems that… other methods might be needed.”
He raised a hand and grazed his fingers down your cheek. His fingers were icy and his bright blue eyes shone in the darkness. You became aware of just how quiet it was. It was as though you and Tommy were the only two people left in Birmingham.
“This is certainly going to be interesting. Isn’t it, love?”

The Mad King
His Highness, Juno Ara Malik
Nicknames
Junebug - by everyone who he loves
Rat King - he gained it by those who only view him for his title
Anak laki-laki ungu yang manis - possibly not translated well, but it means Sweet Purple Boy in Indonesian. It is used by his mother, as she would adorn her son in Royal purple, and since, it has become his color, it remains stained on the palace walls, and shown in almost ever rug he owns-which is ironic, considering his favorite color is actually red.
Age: 28
Birthday: January 21st
Gender/Sexuality: Bisexual man {He/Him}
Astrology: Aquarius sun, Pisces moon, Leo rising
Patron Arcana: Judgement
Upright- Awakening, decision-making, redemption, transition
Reversed - Poor logic, self-doubt, stagnation
Physical Attributes:
Ethnicity: Prakran with a bit of Indonesian and Indian
Height: 5'8
Face Claim: Imran Anj
Hair:
His hair is Mid-length, so a little longer than past his shoulders
Light brown eyes, and thick eyebrows, but he definitely trims them to look arched most days
I'd say he looks similar to face claim completely when it comes to lips, nose, facial structure {that's generally how I picture him if he didn't have the long colorful hair}
Important Relationships:
King Arogatus Malik of Kari Beaundes - His father, who rules over his home land
Lee Lee and Amaria, his cousins. Both live with him seeing as their parents died of the red plague {they were in Vesuvia at the time of the plague, it was miracle the pair didn't pass away too}
High Council Madame Luvia - His grandmother, who is deceased. She was decapitated.
Jayda - His right hand man and closest friend. Sometimes it's hard to tell if theres something between them, or just longing
Zahra - The one who handles all his business with his courtiers, and who basically took his grandmothers job. She's also a good friend of Jayda's, as he would trust her with his life, which she's complained is far too much responsibility considering how irresponsible he can be.
Favorites
Favorite food: Grilled halloumi
Favorite drink: Pinot Noir
Favorite Flower: French Hydrangea
Background/Other Info:
Juno is a bastard child, as yes, he is his father's son, but his mother was not of royal decent. Juno's father is not completely to blame for this, as his wife, The Queen, passed away of an illness, and he had to resort to sleeping with a servant to produce an heir, otherwise his line would've been endangered. Juno will not take after his father though, his cousin Amaria will; ergo why Juno's father had him take over a small Provence at the age of 14. He felt bad that his son would not be able to take after his footsteps.
Juno was raised by his teachers, servants, and guards when he was sailed across the sea to Roya. His grandmother took no interest in him besides hating him, she would regular burn his hands and back, and he remains to have a scar on his face from her dagger. In fact, her treatment only resulted in Juno growing to be spiteful and cruel in some ways, and at the age of 17, he decapitated her in a purple blaze. Her very own sword being used to do the beheading.
Because he is a bastard, he has no biological connections to the countess, but when asked about him, she called him 'Cousin Juno', and he holds her dearly for including him, even if they're not blood related.
Juno did in fact meet Nadia once, and Zahra insisted on putting a show. So they brought several animals, fabrics, and gifts for the whole palace, and city of Vesuvia. Zahra claims it was a good thing, because now vesuvians have a good image of him, but he thinks that they probably think he's stuck up for doing that much.
Style Preference/Clothing:
It's important to mention that Juno shows as much skin as possible, but not for the reasons you think. He does it to show his burns, his scars, what his grandmother has left him, to remind the people of Roya, that he too has suffered at her hand too. His need to bare himself to the world often results in lots of silk and sheer fabric. He needs to be seen.
He is often adorned in deep blue, red, black, and purple fabrics. He likes a lot of gold in jewelry, commonly wearing black jewels and rubies. He loves the way they reflect in the light. He has a nose piercing, but he'll also wear earrings and necklaces. He's actually very weirded out by lace though, so you'll see him avoid it.
More formal attire:
Dynamic? How is he with others?
Juno, while his reputation states otherwise, is genuinely kind-hearted. While he surely can seem sly or charming, he generally has the best intentions when doing so. He's not going to treat you like a threat unless your a genuine problem.
To strangers, he's welcoming, he wants to get to know them, discover what makes them, well- them. He's aware of boundaries though, and will always make sure he's not crossing a line. He's especially kind if he has a good word about you from Zahra or Jayda, getting to know them is the key to getting to Juno if we're being honest. He holds their opinion extremely highly.
To friends, it really depends on who he's with. With Jayda, he's gentle, he jokes, but only mildly, nothing that could genuinely hurt him, and he's highly aware of how sensitive Jayda can be to insults, he knows that the magician has given him the gift of awareness, and he knows it's led to him being insecure about every single thing he does. So he is there as a pillow for Jayda. In contrast, with Zahra and Atlas, he teases them and mocks them all the time, because they do the same, and he's gained the sense they like it. They mean it in no rude way, and it's merely what their used to. For newer friends, he'll analyze you, see what you seem comfortable with, and then he'll try to follow that pattern with you
To partners, you have two options:
You show that you're not really interested in romance, you're more into the passion, the desires of it all. He will treat you as such. He will spoil you, listen to your every fantasy, and do his very best to please you. But he won't show his love as much. He will send you gifts, treat you to nice dinners, balls, all of it. But he won't show how much he loves you, because he'll think it's a turn off. Though, that doesn't mean he's not head over heels for you, he absolutely is, otherwise, your relationship would just be friends with benefits.
You show that you want him, love him, you want him to romance you, lure you in. God, will he play into your every demand. He loves you, and if you let him show it, he won't hesitate to every single moment he's around you. He's handsy, he'll keep his hand on your shoulder, your back, your face. Wherever he can. He may not be too public about it, but that's because he considers your relationship sacred to just you too. Overall though, he's way more affectionate.
Juno is always available for interactions, or ships, so if you're curious, feel free to send an ask
"Oh, our dear king, what a fool someone would be to love you, what a fool someone would be to fall into that trap"

@vikingsevents Day 2 Prompt: Wine Rating: General A/N: For a holiday that celebrates love, as a new mom, I figured Freydis deserved a little shout out and some self reflection and self love for this prompt. Thank you to the lovely folks over at vikingevents for hosting another exciting fandom event! We appreciate all the work you put in to keep the fandom creativity juices flowing.
It was dark, almost purple in color, and sweet. Not the normal wine Freydis was used to drinking, but it warmed her cheeks and put a smile on her lips, so she appeased the wanting part of her soul by continuing to sip on it. She could not remember the last time she had allowed herself the simple joy of a quiet night on her own, an indulgent cup of wine beside her and a fire that crackled with nothing waiting for her; certainly not since she had first arrived in Jómsborg, perhaps not since she had left Greenland.
Greenland seemed so long ago now. She had waded through many trials and tribulations since she first boarded the boat bound for Kattegat, her losses were many, but what she gained was irreplaceable and for that, she could never regret the decisions that she made along the way.
Beside her, the baby played, his feet kicking joyously at the sky as coos and gurgles bubbled past his lips. His eyes shone in the flickering candlelight with the sparkle of joy that only a child could know, and Freydis felt a pang in her chest. They were his father’s eyes.
Despite the distance and time between them, she would always love Harald Sigurdsson, future King of Norway, but she did not mourn his absence as she had first thought she would. The path that he was intended to walk was not her own and that was ok. The gods had brought them together for the time they had been given and in return, she had been gifted a strong boy to carry on his father’s warrior spirit.
Freydis rested back against the pillows and smiled down into her wine. She and Harald had made many memories since she landed on the shores of Kattegat, good and bad, but they had parted at the right time. The path she had been shown, the one that had given her purpose, that gave her mind a clarity she had never known before, would have not made Harald happy.
Jómsborg was her home now, the new Uppsala. Here she could care for those who were lost, for those that still desired the life of the old religion. She was among people who understood her, respected her, loved her. Here she could raise her son in the ways that she wanted, let him be one with the earth and the gods. It was what all the children of their people deserved.
And, above everything else, she was happy. It had taken her a moment to realize the sensation of happiness. In the past, it had been a feeling that came quickly, only to be ripped away from her before she could fully enjoy it, and now that it was tangible and steady in her everyday existence, she would not trade it for all the glory or wealth that could be offered by any man.
The baby hiccupped and squealed with delight, as if to agree with his mother’s musings. Freydis smiled and reached out to fiddle with his toes. “We are happy here, Harald. Are we not?”
Harald smiled a gummy smile and reached for his mother’s dangling hair, drawing a soft chuckle from her.
Yes, Freydis thought as she sipped on the sweet wine and played with her son, her system humming with joy, they were happy.

YEA MAN, tell me uhhhhhh, feel free to ramble about any pokemon things you got going on in your au that you don't mind spoiling/talking about!! very interested to hear about some of the other charas!! :]c
OK WE WILL B DISCUSSING THE LOYAL THREE FROM THE DLC Ik you already know abt them bc you keep reblogging posts abt them + Ogerpon + DLC in general but I also know you havent played the game and won't for a hot minute so . This is spoilers for you bc it may be incomprehsible AND lore filled!
But I have some thinkies about the Loyal Three (mainly Munkidori)
Ok so basic run down of their canon lore since im adding it to the au: They're outsiders of Kitakami who came from another land, they're a gang of thieves who wind up killing a man (Ogerpon's trainer, though in the AU he's her father!) because they try to steal Ogerpon's masks from him and wind up going too far, and likewise they get killed as revenge by Ogerpon and are regarded as heroes by Kitakami. But they come back lol
There's also the fact that the toxic chains they have gave them their abilities (Munkidori's psychic abilities + intelligence, Fezandipiti's looks, Okidogi's strength and muscles), they were just Some Guys before gaining these chains
AU Has some stuff going on there too! Mainly for Munkidori bc I'm still working out background kinks for the other two given that. I gave this man some #lore and it'd b sad to give him all the cool backstory and the other two are just there, and there's also stuff abt them that will come out in the part 2 of the dlc sooo I gotta wait, but anyways
Munkidori is Zarude's adoptive son. Yknow, Zarude, the mythical SWSH shit out! I am completely neutral on Zarude but in the AU they're primary the God of Family! But since 1) a few other gods relate to that like Xerneas being the god of fertility and whatnot and 2) these family units fucking suck, they live away from the Gods and enjoy a life of solitude.
Munkidori was a mere mortal child when Zarude found him and decided to raise him, and his childhood was good for the most part! However, he was never the brightest child, so he was bullied in school by both teachers and students for his low grades/low intelligence. He always wanted to be something greater, but he couldnt do anything substancial without an education. Zarude tried being there for him, but ultimately it was never enough. He started to resent the people around him and yearned to become smarter, stronger even
This resentment soon was applied to Zarude. He began to believe he lived in his parent's shadow, since they were a deity and he wasn't. Sure, Zarude is hardly respected amongst the gods and is a very minor deity in the grand scheme of things, but they were still powerful. They were still an ultimate lifeform. And he was given none of that. Zarude didn't give him immortality, Zarude didn't give him cool God powers, he was just a simple mortal who couldn't do anything right. He wanted to be powerful, but he was denied it.
So when he hit adulthood he ran away from home, soon meeting Okidogi and Fezandipiti (fellow troubled young adults like him who wanted to be something more) and they formed a gang. Thieves who claimed their power back by harming the innocent. Munkidori was their defacto leader, which satified his need for power.
Along the way they were found by [ ] who granted their wishes through the toxic chains (this is. DLC part 2 thing. I know bc of leaks!) so Munkidori actually GOT intelligence (and psychic powers), seemingly without price (there IS a price. The Loyal Three's worst tendancies are now heightened due to the toxins in their body but dont worry abt it)! This only aided in the trio's crimes until they had to flee to Kitakami to escape the ramifications of their actions
Where the canon differs is that I imagine the Loyal Three actually did serve as proctors of Kitakami for a bit, though of course it was for selfish reasons. Free room, food and board for helping protect the innocent and all! But ultimately they all still committed murder against an innocent man and died as a result.
I don't know how they came back to life as of now (Tho I probably will when the rest of the DLC drops), but they all come back the exact same but everyone (... Zarude. Just Zarude) thinks they came back wrong. And they want to whoop Ogerpon's ass for killing them (its been 200 years. She was cursed with immortality FEEL FREE TO ASK ABT IT TOO)
And yeah! Thats the backstory lore I got, so I'll just list some other minor stuff I have cooked for the loyal three! Lil headcanons if you will
-They're all trans men, Fezandipiti is just extremely GNC
-...I think Okidogi has a little crush on Wo-Chien, which is sillay and not gonna work out bc Wo-Chien is one of Ogerpon's found family members and they are NOT gonna give the guy who killed their new baby's dad A KISS!
-They were all in their mid 30s when they died and are still like that now that they've come back, lol. They might have immortality now after being revived but we'll see
-Zarude constantly lives with guilt that they weren't a better parent to Munkidori, though they have no clue that he. Like. straight up became a criminal and died. They just know he's dead bc they raised him 200 years ago and he was a mortal sooooo yeah. Haunted by the horrors ESPECIALLY when he comes back and he's unrecognizable to them !
-I might make it so Fezandipiti and Okidogi also had a connection to some gods, just not on the level Munkidori has lol
-Their relationship with one another is. [Shrugs]. Like yeah they're a team but they constantly argue. but also stare at each other's tits (dw about it.). and they're kinda like a found family I guess? But also not really bc a lot of this was out of convience? they don't know what they are but they sure did die together!

Gen 8 - Part 3
Mt. Komorebi (Komorebi Empire)
Komorebi Imperial Family
In the past generation, Komorebi was owned by Windenburg and its royal family were little more than symbols to the land. But through dedication, successful economics and businesses, and good relations with other countries, Komorebi soon gained back their independence, and looked to improve their image as peaceful, but firm rulers. Emperor Kiraseindu Hiro had done his best to raise his niece and two sons to become potential rulers, unsure who would be best for Komorebi to have as a ruler.
The decision was made for him, when Crown Princess Ohara Miho publicly vowed vengeance to those who put her down and doubted her during her childhood and teenage years, potentially putting her family’s reputation at risk and committing social suicide. Emperor Hiro had no choice but to remove her title and position, and give it to next in line: his first born son Prince Kiraseindu Hanshiro. Miho left the palace with her family in a rage, vowing to get her throne back, while the public rejoined that the popular Hanshiro and his wife would be their next rulers.
Controversy would continue to follow the family as Hanshiro presented his newborn half-human son to the world, creating doubt that the child would be next in line. Meanwhile, Miho and her husband had a completely alien child who is eligible in her own right. Hiro will leave the decision to either give the title of heir to either the first born in a ruling family or to continue the program of educating the Komorebi royal youth to become potential rulers. In this ever changing and dramatic kingdom, the future rests on this new generation.

Komorebi Life
The former “Kiraseindu Den” which housed dangerous criminals and syndicate masterminds is now a hub of successful entrepreneurs and a popular spot for the royal children to play in. The Majordomo servo keeps the property spic and span while everyone else focuses on ensuring the Komorebi economy.
However, one of the most successful businessmen in the empire was killed in the First Invasion of Gen 8. After Kiraseindu Orion’s death in Strangerville, his wife, Kiraseindu Aiko, took over the company while also maintaining her masterpiece painting ventures. She also does her best to look after her four children, two of which were mysteriously born vampiric.
Meanwhile, the family Youjimbo Zakanagi Senzo was reeling from the loss of his fiance, Kiraseindu Misah, after she passed from a vicious case of food poisoning. But he found love in the past Prime Minster’s daughter, Uchibayashi Nari, and the two quickly married and had a child.
Life in Komorebi does seem to get easier with each passing day, as the community learns to support each other in the coming trying times.

Geisha District
Changes had to be made to maiko and geisha life and cultures as Gen 7 continued. With performing geisha banned from San Myshuno and many parts of the world, due to the seedy clientele the establishments attracted, Komorebi cracked down on unethical practices and focused more on the older traditions of geisha performances and conduct. While their reputation builds, the geisha of Komorebi focus to become empire-only performers in an attempt to bring tourism back to the mountain.
And with the First Invasion of Gen 8 over and fresh in everyone’s minds, the current headmistress of the maiko house and academy, Lady Kiraseindu Anri, has begun training her students in combat. She proposed an edict that the royal family doesn’t need just a youjimbo, but a geisha performer who can be a secret protector of the family. The edict has yet to pass, but meanwhile, Anri continues to train her students to be ready for a possible invasion of their own.
But resentment is brewing within the ranks. Recently abdicated prince Ohara Miho finds herself in her disgraced mother’s homestead, bitter and vowing vengeance against all of Komorebi. She was Anri’s favorite student, and the old headmistress was Miho’s loudest and most loyal supporter. Is it possible that more than resentment is brewing deep in the depths of Mt. Komorebi?

School Life
The life of the typical Komorebi student begins in the public and private schools that Komorebi is known for. And they were opened not just to the people of Komorebi, but to those in relation as well. Meanwhile, the maiko house and geisha school were opened to those wanting to learn the craft, or troubled children needing stricter structure in their lives. But everyone comes together as a family, as brothers, sisters, and cousins, the community can only become stronger as time goes on. And with the world changing, the curriculum changes as well. Students can now choose if they wish to become part of the new Imperial Guard, to join any future fights against the Mother Plant when she arises. The possibilities are wide open for the youth of Komorebi, and watching them grow and become their own individuals is always exciting!

BIOGRAPHY
Name: Oda Nobunaga Age: Uncle-ish Birthdate: September 23 Pronouns He/Him Dragnor chooses its warlords through election. Being one of the five ruling families, the Oda have always had a hand in politics since Dragnor’s founding city of Azuchi was built. They recently came back into power as the most influential of the families when Oda Nobuhide became warlord via a fluke. Nobuhide ousted the previous warlord in a short-lived rebellion. While he had not intended to take the title for himself, Nobuhide agreed to act as a temporary replacement until the next warlord was elected. The later vote was all but unanimous in his favor. Nobuhide had three children by his late wife, each of whom were grown soldiers in their own right when Nobuhide came to power. Tsuchida, his elder daughter and middle child, set her sights on the throne as soon as her father gained the crown. Nobuhide never named an heir as the head of the Oda; it was assumed his son would be granted the lands and titles of the Oda’s province of Owari. Upon Nobuhide’s death it soon came to light how far Tsuchida had gone to exploit the opening her father had left by not officially naming an heir. Already she had the backing of Dragnor’s political council through blackmail, favors, and payments for a guarantee of being made warlord. Before her election, Tsuchida brooked an agreement with her siblings that instead of banishment they would go into self-imposed exile. Their leaving Dragnor left Tsuchida the undisputed head of the Oda clan. Tsuchida accomplished much during her time as warlord, the most notable of which was the annexation of Nixtorm. As part of the alliance the son of Nixtorm’s warlord, Akechi Mitsuhide, would come to live in Azuchi and serve as a retainer to Tsuchida’s son, Nobunaga. Shenanigans would ensue. Nobunaga was the first Oda in several generations to be raised in the halls of the warlord’s residence at Azuchi castle. As a child Nobunaga was an avid scholar, and often sat in council or accompanied his mother on trips to other kingdoms when delegation was required. If not indoors, he explored the lands in and around the city of Azuchi. For several months of each year he was sent to Owari to live among the Oda. There, he spent his days learning the ins and outs of leadership. Any free time he had saw him combing libraries and prodding those around him for stories and legends of Ransei. In his tenth year he was enrolled in Azuchi’s military academy where he excelled at any task or trial set before him. Four years later he graduated top of his class and was made a captain in Dragnor’s army. At fifteen years old, he killed his first man. An event that would have otherwise unfazed him had the one he killed not been a member of his graduating class. One of Dragnor’s top generals had snuck south with plans to take over Aurora. Nobunaga happened to be on a diplomatic venture to Ignis at the time and stumbled across the general’s plot. Nobunaga subdued the threat in the south and returned home having adopted the general’s son, Mori Ranmaru. When Nobunaga was sixteen, Tsuchida’s junior warlord Mamoru died due to injuries sustained in battle against Avia. Nobunaga was selected to fill the position and he took to the roll like a fish to water, accepting each new responsibility in stride. Shortly after he turned seventeen, tragedy struck when a lingering illness caused Tsuchida to pass. Despite his grief Nobunaga was quick to announce his candidacy for the seat of warlord. Even by Dragnor’s standards the election was brutal. Competition between Nobunaga and his half-brother Nobuyuki threw the capital city into a small-scale civil war which ended when Nobunaga took the head of his opponent and was voted in as warlord. Nobunaga lost his right-hand man and oldest friend Niwa Nagahide to an assassination plot during the election. After being made warlord, Nobunaga instead appointed another half-brother, Nobuhiro, to the position of junior warlord. Adopting Ranmaru as a younger brother proved to be the best thing to happen to Nobunaga. Though he had always been a man of compassion, his devotion to Ranmaru and Ranmaru’s happiness made him more conscientious of both his own actions and the actions of others. Nobunaga became known throughout the kingdom as a leader who would hear complaints directly from the voices of his people. His policies narrowed the wealth gap in Dragnor and gave more rights to the working class citizens. Around this time the council decided he was no longer the golden prince he had been in his youth and that he was better off dead. Nobunaga’s compassion extended past just his own people to include their partners. He cracked down on those who mistreated or forced links with Pokémon, and his harshest punishments were dealt to those who skirted the laws that protected the creatures. More than anything was Nobunaga frustrated by how Ransei as a whole was content to use their Pokémon as tools. As had many in Ransei, Nobunaga had heard the legends of Arceus as a child. While Nobunaga did not believe the legends, he saw how others had used them as an excuse to wage war in Ransei since its founding. Nobunaga came to a single solution: bring all of Ransei together and prove no such creature existed, and in doing so bring an end to the wars that plagued his beloved region. He began his conquest in his tenth year as warlord with the kingdoms that neighbored Dragnor. Nixtorm and Valora were first to join, while Spectra capitulated only after the other two had done so. Avia had always managed to hold against attacks from the north. It was necessary to obtain, however, as it served as a choker between the northern and central kingdoms of Ransei and leaving it unattended could endanger the movement of supplies. Instead of tackling Avia head-on as so many failed invaders had in the past, Nobunaga went to Viperia via Spectra and took Avia in a pincer movement. Avia provided Nobuanga with an unexpected opportunity. An investigation launched after his election concluded that Nagahide had been assassinated by the Saika, and scouting parties discovered the clan living in Avia. The massacre of the Saika drew the attention of Ransei to Nobunaga in a way his policies and peaceful acquisition of the northern kingdoms never had. Those living in the central and southern parts of Ransei started calling him the dragon king: a title meant as an insult that the dragon-worshiping soldiers of Dragnor took for their own use to exalt their warlord. Illusio was a challenge Nobunaga had planned to wait on until the other central and eastern kingdoms were under his control. The Dragnor council worked behind his back, causing events which required Nobunaga to pit his forces against Illusio after the invasion of Avia. His brutal methods against both Illusio and the Saika shook the loyalty of several close followers. His own younger sister, Oichi, fled the Dragnor army to seek help and safety in the southern kingdoms. Before leaving Illusio for allied territory, Nobunaga’s partner Hydreigon suffered injuries severe enough to be sent back to Azuchi for proper medical care and recuperation. Despite the loss Nobunaga continued fighting on the front lines. One such battle would have been the end of him if not for the appearance of Zekrom. Even so, without Ranmaru Nobunaga would have needed an arm amputated to keep him alive. The acquisition of Zekrom coupled with the subsequent conquering of Yaksha and Cragspur marked a turning point in the campaign. What had until Avia been a swift and peaceful acquisition of land turned into what became known as the unification wars. Though the northern army had left Illusio, they remained in deadlock with the psychic kingdom at its borders. Terrera was looking to be just as difficult for Nobunaga now that he had to split the army rather than attacking Terrera with full force as was originally intended. Strain was starting to show in the ranks as well. Soldiers from opposing kingdoms had begun forming factions as the battles raged on. To increase unity and raise moral, Nobunaga wed the warlord of Spectra to give the kingdoms under his banner a reason for celebration. When the southern army began its invasion of the north, Nobunaga allowed their progress to continue unhindered. Those he left in charge of the territories were free to deal with the threat as they saw fit. Dragnor was opened to the refugees fleeing the destruction caused by the southern army. Nobunaga viewed the invasion as a contest of wills. This was most apparent when the invading army finally reached Dragnor. Having given orders that the army was to pass unmolested to the battlegrounds near Azuchi, Nobunaga ensured the safety of his citizens and the refugees until he could pit himself against the invaders in a bid of Dragnor versus Ransei. Although Nobunaga had prepared to give rule of Dragnor to the southern leader upon his defeat, the sudden appearance of a new landmark ground those plans to a halt. Gathering those most loyal to him Nobunaga went to investigate and found himself gobsmacked by the very legendary beast whose existence he had set out to disprove. After being defeated with the help of Arceus, Nobunaga stepped down from his position of warlord. He traveled the north and helped the territories rebuild from the war, still serving Dragnor as junior warlord to Ranmaru. Nobunaga considered his greatest loss to be that of Zekrom, which departed soon after Nobunaga’s first defeat. The link between them let him know that the dragon still lived on in the realm but gave no other information. He remained unable to fully use his burnt arm. Knowledge of the wound was one of the few things Nobunaga kept a secret. Indeed, few outside his inner circle knew he had such a disability at all. The only ones who knew the full extent of the damage were Ranmaru and Mitsuhide, who helped him relearn sword fighting. Opportunity fell in Nobunaga’s lap when the empress disappeared and the warlords declared him regent in a split decision. His first days as regent saw an attempt on his life when one of the remaining Saika failed to assassinate him. During the empress’ absence Nobunaga put an end to the growing rebellions in Chrysalia. This would turn out to be the final meeting between Nobunaga and his old self-declared rival Matsunaga Hisahide. More so, it was the one time Nobunaga took Hisahide seriously as Toyotomi Hideyoshi, whom Nobunaga made general and took on as a son during the unification wars, was injured. Following the return of the empress, Nobunaga kept a closer eye on politics outside the northern kingdoms. He quickly grew impatient with her lack of action. He, after all, was the one who spent his days rebuilding the north despite her words of reparation. On a diplomatic mission to air his concerns his Hydreigon once more was injured, this time to the point of affecting Nobunaga as well. His continued talks with the empress over her lack of direct action and how the workload of her title was too much for her to bear eventually led to her stepping down from the role. Nobunaga was as shocked as the rest of Ransei when she offered him the title of shogun. Before his coronation took place, Hōjō Ujiyasu attacked Nobunaga in a bid to rid Ransei of him once and for all. Ujiyasu managed to cut off half of Nobunaga’s bad arm, but was stopped from killing him by the return of Zekrom. SEXUALITY + ROMANCE Nobunaga is an aromantic asexual. An apothisexual, or sex-repulsed ace to be precise. Sex is something he doesn’t like talking about, hearing about, or even thinking about. Being asked to acknowledge it as a thing makes him highly uncomfortable. He is somewhat touch-averse as well, depending on how well he knows someone. If he has a deep enough bond with them, he is very physical in his affection. Romantic attraction is simply something Nobunaga does not feel. Unlike his detestation of anything sexual, he is quite happy when those he cares for find someone they want to spend their lives with. He has a reputation in Azuchi for always being at the ready to host the weddings of friends and soldiers (hosting the affair being the greatest and most meaningful of wedding gifts in Dragnor). Dragnor itself is only as progressive (a term used lightly) as it is due to having Tsuchida, Nobunaga, and Ranmaru at the helm for so many consecutive years. That being said, the people Nobunaga spent his formative years around still had conservative views on what constitutes a proper life plan. Everyone is cisgendered, heterosexual, and marries the opposite gender to have as many children as possible. I can’t speak for the rest of Ransei, but it ain’t as progressive as the mainland. Them’s the facts. Of the two, Nobunaga gets less heat for being asexual. Sex not being something brought up in casual conversation with the man in charge and all. Before his marriage to Nōhime, he had a viable excuse for not procreating by dodging whatever proposals came his way. After marrying the two were able to wave it away with excuses of all the work they had to accomplish from separate kingdoms. (Her asexuality being of the apothisexual variety as well.) Romance, however, is where the opinions of others affected Nobunaga’s opinion of himself. Nobunaga grew up in an environment where romance was considered the norm. Where everyone experienced romantic attraction, and where whispers dodged the heels of those who showed little interest in such matters. As such, the idea that because he couldn’t experience such a thing for himself there was something about him that was broken took root. Nobunaga is a man who places his highest regards on humanity and what it means to be human. The idea that there is something separating him from the rest of humanity is one he finds terrifying, and his aromanticism is his largest source of inner conflict. Nobunaga, however, has endless amounts of love to give. He’s a family man through and through, and makes those he likes a part of his own. His shoulders were made to carry the burdens of others. All this considered, Nobunaga is only out to three people: Ranmaru, Oichi, and Nōhime. His retainers have some inkling of his leanings, if only because the time spent around him have let them put the pieces together. IDEALISM Nobunaga doesn’t stop to think of why he wants something. Most of his wants are fairly self-explanatory. Want to end war? Of course you do!, etc. This can lead to some interesting conversations, however. “Why did you want to become warlord?”, “What?” The base of Nobunaga’s philosophy is that the truth is malleable. If one does not like the way things are, they have the power to change it. Truth: Ransei is always at war with itself. Solution: End war in Ransei. Truth: Pokémon are being used and abused. Solution: Ensure laws that protect Pokémon are followed. If Nobunaga’s ideals are the better ones, they’ll win out. Hence why whenever he and his ideals are opposed he demands the opponent give their all without holding back. He is coming at them with every ounce of conviction he has. Unless they do the same, he will come out the victor. “Take the truth you despise and mold it to your demands. That is what it means to be human in this world!” —Nagu

Summary: Ever since you were a child, you had dreamed about getting your mark and finding the perfect person. When you finally got your mark, a quarter-sized star on the inside of your wrist, you were delighted! Your fairytale romance was just getting started.
Egon didn’t believe in fate. He didn’t believe that a mark on your body meant something just because it matched a mark on someone else’s body. When he woke up one morning and found a star on his wrist, he brushed it off. Moles could be star-shaped, he supposed.

Checking over the sign-in chart, I'm pleased to see that all the families have arrived. No one sounds upset, no crying toddlers or complaining parents, so I think we're off to a good start.
To ensure we landed on the right track before continuing, Doctor Leinonen wanted to take the lead these first few days of observation. Which I didn't mind. I was partially interested in her personal procedures while researching alongside gaining my own experience through patient-doctor interaction.
"Do you want to get Doctor Leinonen?" I ask Egon, "Everyone is here."
"Sure." He takes the clipboard from me, exiting the room. I peel my eyes away from his retreating form, looking out over the sea of children and parents. Most of the children are around two years old, and most of the parents are mothers, but there are a few outliers here and there.
A man, who looks to be in his late twenties, is holding a very grumpy-looking little girl. I have a feeling she'll be difficult to work with.
"Welcome!" Doctor Leinonen says loudly. The room quiets down as she walks through the door, "Thank you very much for your time today. We'll be starting the observation shortly, going alphabetically by last names. You and your children will be separated from the group in ten-minute increments. My assistants and I will interact with both parents and children in the observation room. On this first day, we will be choosing our test subjects for my research on childhood behavior. If you are not chosen, you are still welcome to the free lunch after. Thank you again for your time. Any questions?" No one raises their hand. "Excellent! First up is... Anderson."
***
Getting through the initial interview observations was... interesting, to say the least.
Doctor Leinonen, as promised, took the first few, having Egon and I stand at a distance to take notes. By around the half-mark down the list, I spent most of the time on the ground with the children.
Surprisingly enough, the grumpy little girl from the waiting room, Lilly, was the first child to convince me to sit with her. She took one look around the room and toddled up towards me, her chubby hands extended.
Doctor Leinonen had nodded at me in a way that meant 'just go along with it.' So, I did, letting Lilly pull me towards the box of donated toys.
"Have you worked with children before?" Egon asks as we're leaving for lunch.
"Just a little babysitting in high school. Why?"
"You seemed like you had."
Stifling my laugh with the back of my hand, I grin up at him, "It's not like I did much. I'm sure you would've done the same if they reached for you."
He shakes his head, "I've never dealt with young children before."
"No younger siblings or cousins?"
He chuckles, "I was never asked to babysit."
I'm about to ask what he means by that when he suddenly pauses on the steps.
"Peter."
I pull my eyes away from him, looking towards the bottom of the steps where Peter's leaning against the staircase support wall.
"Hey, Spengs." Peter's holding a bouquet of white flowers. It's a nice gesture, I suppose, but I've never been a 'flower girl' finding the cut bouquets die much too quickly to enjoy.
"Hi," I anxiously look between Peter and Egon, having not thought about an interaction between the two of them when I suggested coffee.
"Are you ready to go?"
I take a step forward, taking the bouquet from him. I have the burning urge to tell Peter I rather not get coffee with him and continue my conversation with Egon instead, but I'm the one who suggested coffee... It would be rude to ditch Peter now. At least that's what I'm going to tell myself as it makes me feel better.
"I'll be back in thirty minutes."
He doesn't look me in the eyes as he replies, "Okay."
Not being able to handle this any further, I turn to Peter, "Ready?"
"Of course," he puts his hand on my lower back as we walk away. The feeling of Egon watching us walk away burns in my stomach.
***
I pull my wallet out of my bag, "A small Medium Roast, please."
"And a large Dark Roast," Peter hands the barista cash before turning to me, "my treat."
"Thank you." Despite feeling uncomfortable that he's paid for me again, I don't argue with him. Mon said most guys would get upset if you insisted on paying, and I trust her enough to not push the issue. Peter seems to fall into the 'most guys' category for most things.
The barista hands us our coffee, and I pick out a table near the cafe's floor-length windows.
"How's your day been?" Peter asks when we've settled into the plush chairs.
"It's been eventful. We're working with young children, so it's bound to be interesting."
"I can't imagine Spengs is having fun with that."
It always comes back to Egon for Peter. It's alarming like he knows something he shouldn't. There's no possibility of that, but it was still weird.
"He seems fine. It's not like we're babysitting as the parent and Doctor Leinonen are there." He doesn't seem entirely comfortable, but I'm sure Egon will warm up to the assignment with time.
Peter shrugs, "So this weekend-- I was wondering if you're planning on going out on Friday night."
"I--" However I answer this will dictate a lot about this relationship. I have to be careful to not get trapped in any situations I don't want to be in. Peter's a nice guy, but he isn't my guy. "I hadn't planned on going out this weekend."
"C'mon, a little fun after a long week. You deserve to go out, have a few and let loose."
I grin, looking down at my lap. A good time seemed to always be in the cards for Peter Venkman. "I'll call you if I change my mind."
***
Peter walked me back to the Psychology building even when I insisted that it wasn't necessary. Maybe I had been hard on him. He could be a gentleman when he wanted, and it wasn't fair to judge him just because he wasn't Egon. Peter is a pretty good... boyfriend, or whatever he was to me at this point.
Egon passes Peter and me saying goodbye outside the building. He doesn't say anything, but he doesn't have to. His frown explains everything anyone could want to know about his mood.
"I've got to go," I say, turning to follow after Egon.
Egon's going over his notes when I arrive in the patient waiting area.
"How was your lunch break?" I shuffle around the room, trying not to get in his way.
"Uneventful," Egon clears his throat. His frown is deeper than usual, and he won't look at me directly. Apparently, we do pissy attitudes similarly. "How was your date?"
If he weren't so outright with his jealousy, his voice, somehow lacking even more humor than usual, gives away exactly how he feels.
Oh! He was getting on my nerves! "It was fine."
"Fine... what did Peter do?"
"Nothing!" My face pinches, "I'm not going to-- you're his friend! I'm not discussing my date with you."
A few of the parents look over at us. Why am I even entertaining this conversation?
"Excuse us," I smile politely at the parents before pulling Egon somewhat aggressively towards the empty office across the hall.
"What the fuck are you doing?"
He blinks at me, "What am I doing? What are you doing?"
I shake my head, not believing that he's angry with me, "I can date whoever I want." Even as confrontation is something I struggle with, I'll defend my choices in romantic partners, even if it's the last thing I want to be arguing with my soul mate over.
The combination of the May heat, my anger, and the stupid long sleeve shirt I decided to wear today has me pulling the sleeves up to my elbow.
Egon's eyes follow the movement, bulging in the most unattractive way. He reaches for my wrist, turning my palm towards the ceiling.
"What?" The word falls off his tongue, landing between us.
Well, I've been found out. "Egon–"
"It's not possible–" His thumb connects with the small star on my wrist. "It's real." He swipes his thumb across the skin.

If you’re still taking requests (feel no pressure to do this) 14 with Obi-wan and a knight Anakin because that sounds very much like him
A fluff prompt!! I’m so excited, thank you! 🤍
From this various prompts list.

Obi-Wan Kenobi had not slept in three nights, and his Lineage was not happy about it.
Ahsoka and Anakin watched with narrowed eyes from a balcony as the Jedi Master mingled with the crowd, smiling softly at anyone who engaged his attention, keeping close to the side of Chancellor Palpatine and Vice Chair Mas Amedda.
For a man who was running on very little sleep and hardly any sustenance, Obi-Wan was managing to maintain the image of the perfect Jedi — civil, humble, charming, wise. Power concealed just below the surface.
Every so often, Palpatine would draw the Jedi deeper into some conversation or other, or pat him on the shoulder in a strangely paternal fashion.
“Why does he keep doing that?” Ahsoka hissed to her Master. “Master Kenobi hates strangers touching him!”
“The Chancellor isn’t a stranger,” Anakin said defensively. But he watched again as Palpatine settled a hand on his former Master’s arm and saw the slight tension creasing Obi-Wan’s forehead, and had to concede that Obi-Wan was feeling uncomfortable. “But yeah. I don’t think the Chancellor knows, he wouldn’t do it if he did. He’s probably just too used to working with me instead. We’re more like friends.”
Ahsoka raised her eyebrows. “And would he have let you go home by now? We were supposed to be able to leave almost two hours ago.”
Anakin sighed. He leaned on the railing, absentmindedly picking at a carved design in the metal with his mech hand, creating a small clicking noise. He scanned the room again, searching for unlikely threats, and then returned his gaze to his Master and his friend, still penned in the center of a colorful crowd all waiting for attention. To see and be seen. Vultures.
Obi-Wan had more patience for this sort of thing, it was true, but it was apparent to those who knew him well — to Anakin — that he was run ragged. That every new face turning in his direction, awed and pettily delighted by meeting both the Supreme Chancellor and a High Jedi General, was another weight on his shoulders.
Anakin glanced over at his Padawan. Ahsoka’s eyes lit up as she saw the look in his eyes.
“How do you wanna do this?” she asked, tapping her fingers excitedly on the banister. “I know you like explosions, but if you set something off, Master Obi-Wan will definitely have to flee with the Chancellor to safety and then he’ll be gone for ages.”
“You’re right, Snips,” Anakin said, and a smirk pulled at his lips. He ruffled his hair proudly, ignoring Ahsoka’s eye roll, and said, “So I’ll take a leaf from Obi-Wan’s book. I’ll just go right down there and use my words.”
Anakin beamed.
Ahsoka looked as if she suddenly preferred an explosion.
-
“Yes, hi, hello, excuse me, coming through, yep, pardon me, just walking here,” Anakin threw scattered, inane apologies in every direction as he plowed a path right through the entire gala.
Ahsoka trailed in his wake, smiling awkwardly at the people who scattered with startled looks and scowling ferociously at those who dared look cross.
Obi-Wan spotted them first. He was deep in conversation with a representative from the Core, but his blue eyes flickered to them briefly and his smile became slightly taut; he raised one of his hands in what might have passed for a wave but was, to his Padawans, a clear signal to turn around.
Anakin disregarded this subtle warning immediately.
He strolled directly up to Obi-Wan, bowed slightly, and put a hand on the Master’s shoulder, smiling blindingly at the representative. “Good evening. I’m afraid it’s time for Master Kenobi to depart. The Jedi thank you for your time.”
The representative raised her eyebrows but said nothing.
Palpatine, on the other hand, suddenly popped up right beside them, a wide smile on his grandfatherly face. “Anakin, Knight Skywalker, how good to see you! I thought you’d gone home hours ago, why, surely you need your rest after that last campaign.”
Anakin kept a hand on Obi-Wan’s shoulder. Ahsoka shifted to stand behind them, smiling a little too widely, the points of her teeth glinting, at anyone who looked at them askance.
“We had quite the victory,” Anakin agreed. He preened slightly. But — “And you’re right, Chancellor, we do need our rest. General Kenobi has served very well, and we’re all eager to rest and prepare for our next deployment.”
Palpatine’s smile widened still further. “Ah, yes. General Kenobi is an incredible public servant, he’s such a delight to have at events such as these.”
This time it was Anakin who tensed slightly. Ahsoka sidled up surreptitiously and linked her arm with Master Obi-Wan’s, flanking him between them, drawn up as tall as she could make herself.
Anakin looked intently at Palpatine, trying to communicate to his friend that now was not the time for politics. He’d thought this would be easy, but the Chancellor seemed determined to keep Kenobi with him all evening. The crowd had begun to disperse, realizing they weren’t going to be receiving any attention for awhile, but they milled about nearby, clearly listening in.
“I—” Obi-Wan began, but Anakin decided to risk his Master’s wrath and just cut him right off.
“And he and I are always happy to be invited by such gracious hosts!” he blurted out quickly. “But sadly, we will have to wait for another invitation before we get the chance to enjoy one another’s company. We really do have to be going.”
Palpatine studied him for a moment.
Go on, Anakin urged him silently. Please. Come on. You know we want to leave.
The silence dragged.
“Master Kenobi,” Palpatine said warmly, turning to Obi-Wan, and Anakin felt a wave of relief. “What do you say? Shall we… let you out of your duties for the sake of your valiant friends?”
Oh, what the fuck?
It had the ring of a joke but was worded like a trap. And Anakin could see, in slow-motion, the flicker of resignation and bitterness deep in Obi-Wan’s blue eyes, just behind the friendly smile, and knew what was about to happen if he didn’t do something about it.
Anakin let out a loud laugh and clapped Obi-Wan on the shoulder again. “Sorry, everyone. We’re on a time crunch, we have to get back in time for dessert.”
Ahsoka laughed, too, and clung a little tighter to Obi-Wan’s arm.
Obi-Wan looked somewhere between confused and horror struck.
Palpatine’s smile froze.
Anakin chuckled and waved at the surrounding crowd, shrugging in a you-know-how-it-is sort of way. “Hey, he promised us milkshakes. General I may be, but I still demand my old Master fulfill his promises of unhealthy desserts.”
“Hey, I think out of everyone, I deserve milkshakes the most!” Ahsoka interjected, her tone teasing.
A few of the politicians shot her amused smiles. Ordinarily she would have bristled, but in this instance she just shot them knowing, conspiratorial looks, like a child deliberately making mischief. There was a ripple of laughter.
“I don’t know about that,” Anakin said. “I think I definitely took out the most droids.”
“Riiiight,” said Ashoka. “After I took out the battlement. By myself.”
They ribbed back and forth. The gala was eating it up, their faces amused and indulgent, intrigued by the display of youthful frivolity and friendship the Jedi were giving them. Obi-Wan was still pinned between them, rooted helplessly to the spot.
Anakin looked back at the Chancellor, expecting a smile.
Instead he got a blank expression — which quickly turned into a loud bark of laughter and a grandfatherly grin. He clapped his hands to gain the attention of the crowd and said, “Oh, I believe our brave Hero and his friends have earned themselves a night out for something as innocent and delightful as milkshakes, don’t you say?”
The crowd laughed and nodded; there was scattered applause, and it was done.
Anakin winked at the Chancellor and then turned on the spot, he and Ahsoka striding out the room with Obi-Wan trapped in the middle, waving and bowing at anyone who smiled in their direction.
The three of them escaped out of the ballroom, down the flight of stairs, and out onto the grand balcony overlooking the landing platform, where their ship was waiting in the semi-darkness of the Coruscant night.
Anakin and Ahsoka turned at the same time to look at Obi-Wan, each of them still holding on to one of the Master’s arms.
There was a long silence.
Obi-Wan stared tiredly down at the speeder for a very long time.
Anakin looked at his Padawan nervously.
But then Obi-Wan’s lips twitched beneath his beard, and then he chuckled, and then he burst into uproarious laughter. The sound was infectious; relieved and excited, the other two clung to him and laughed, all of them half-leaning on the railing, cackling like idiots.
They laughed until they ran out of breath, and then laughed a little more.
After a long while, Obi-Wan disentangled his arms from their controlling grips but immediately settled them back, one on Anakin’s shoulder and the other resting on Ahsoka’s back. “I think,” he said, “I promised you milkshakes. Dex’s?”
“Oh, I definitely remember you saying that!” Ahsoka said. “Dex’s is great.”
“Yeah, and you also definitely said you’d pay,” Anakin wheedled.
“No,” Obi-Wan said firmly.
“Awww. Worth a shot,” Anakin whispered to his Padawan.
Obi-Wan smiled. “I said I’d pay for Ahsoka’s. You, my Knighted former Padawan, can pay for your own dessert.”
Ahsoka cheered. Anakin groaned. They strolled off into the night, ambling without haste or urgency or fear, connected by light touches of the hands and arms, and by something deeper and unseen and familial.
There would be time for the war and politics later.
Right now, they were late for dessert.

Distant Shores-1
Summary: The heathens came to raid every year, stealing treasures and killing along the way. Your father was the King of Wessex and wanted to strike a deal with the heathens. The heathens and their ruthless numbers in exchange for some lands to farm, riches... and you. You are the Christian princess that is now to marry the Heathen King, a man that you're sure would rather kill you than marry you. This is going to be a miserable marriage.
A Viking!BakugouxReader fic.
Warnings: Arrange Marriage, general viking things, abusive father
They came every year, rowing to shore in their long boats with the intricately decorated dragon or serpent heads, shields of all colors decorating the sides. They would set up camp near the edges of the water, far enough to stay dry but not so far that they couldn't leave in a haste if need be. Violent in their tendencies and lacking the most simple of manners. Vulgar in their speech but carefree and happy. Men and women fighting side by side. They were tall, muscular, built like the gods they worshiped. Some with long hair that was braided back from their face, others with the sides shorn short and what was left was braided. Almost all had some sort of facial hair, minus the young ones desperately trying to grow it in, and if that was long enough it would be braided as well. Their clothing was not all together different from what you were used to. Perhaps not as ostentatious or gaudy as a he clothing around court. It was practical and useful, rather than just for show. Your father, the King of Wessex, was intrigued by these heathens as he called them. They had came ashore last year, destroying a few temples and killing all the holy men and women inside of them while stealing all the treasure inside, before taking their leave back to their homelands. It was interesting to say the least, though they had heard of these northmen before this was only the second time they had made camp on their shores. So In an effort of good faith your father decided to invite them to the castle, to talk he said. He wanted to strike a deal with them. He was going to offer a few things he thought they could not refuse. So he sent out a messenger to bring back their leaders for a feast. They spoke in a different tongue, looking at the women of court with lustful eyes as they ate. One man, who seemed to be their leader spoke up as he looked at the King. "What is it you have to offer me?" He spoke your language but it was choppy with the words out of place. You were surprised to find he knew the words at all. His hair was short on the sides, the rest braided back until it ended in a short pony tail. He had red eyes that you felt could pierce through anything or anyone. Scars littered his arms and bare chest, an axe and a sword at his hips. "Well, I am willing to offer some lands for you to do as you wish. Farm, build settlements. They are yours to do as you wish. I am also willing to offer you something more." The man said, grinning at the Viking earl. "I am offering my pure daughter, Y/N, to you." You. You were an offering. You always knew that your marriage would be arranged but you didn't think like this. To someone who had different customs, a different language, a different land someone who was different in almost every way possible. You wanted to throw up
The last thing that you thought your father was going to offer up was you. After all you were his only daughter and you figured that you would be married off to someone, a prince or lord in order for you father to gain some lands or troops for wars. Though you supposed this was kind of the same thing. The last thing that you expected was to be offered up to the Heathen King. You could feel his gaze on you, calculating red eyes watching your every move. You kept your eyes downcast, a habit from living in the castle for so long. You tried your hardest to hide the look of shock on your face, train it into a neutral expression.
"Well aren't you lucky, you get the Christian princess." One of the men next to the Heathen king spoke to him, in their language. One that you didn't understand.
"I have no need for a wife... but I could make it work. His proposition is interesting. I feel like he is going to double cross us."
The viking seemed to contemplate for a minute, hand rubbing over his chin as he looked you up and down before looking back at his men. "I will accept your offer, but I am surprised you would give up your virgin daughter to such a... heathen like myself." You could feel your face heat up at that, like they were talking about you without you even being there, despite the fact that you could feel the Vikings eyes on you the entire time.
"Well you are the man I need to make an alliance with right now." Your father stated, leaning back in his chair. "She will make a fine wife, I'm sure she can adjust to your ways." It became quite obvious to Bakugou that the king did not care about his daughter and what happened to her. He knew of the rumors that were spread about them. How they raped women and killed them when they no longer 'served their purpose.' He could tell you were scared but it seemed as though your father did not care.
"Then she will leave with us in the morning, we will be married under our Gods." Bakugou grunted, taking a long drink out of his cup, eyes never leaving your shaking frame. There was not much more that you could take, you didn't want to marry yet let alone a barbarian that you didn't even know. Someone who hardly spoke your language, who had different customs and Gods than you.
You excused yourself and made your way out of the hall, running as soon as you were out of sight. You couldn't slow your breaths, they were coming much too fast. You felt as though you were hyperventilating and needed to calm down. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad, maybe it would be okay. Once you made it to your room you had calmed down just a bit. You still did not want to marry this man. He looked cruel and would surely just have his way with you.
You sighed as you sat at your vanity, taking out the clips and pins that held your hair up in its complicated look. You supposed now you'd have to have it in the braids you saw on all the Viking women. You moved it back away from your face when you heard a knock on the door that caused your heart to race. You knew it was your father, sent to give you instructions that you didn't want to follow.
"Well, you embarrassed me out there. Running away like that, it's almost like you don't want to marry that brute." Your father hadn't waited for an answer to come in. "You have to make him happy, the last thing I want is them storming our shores because you're too stupid to please this man."
"Father I don't want to marry him. I do not know him and... and what if he kills me? You could marry me off to a prince from a neighboring land and they could offer your army to help if the viki,.." you started to say before you were struck against the cheek. The king of Wessex didn't like being told what to do, especially not by a woman.
"You will listen to what I have to say child, you will do as you are told, no questions. You will marry that brute and you will like it. Keep him pleased bed remind him of our treaty or I can send someone to remind you of your place." Your father threatened, pointing a finger in your face while you held your cheek and tears sprang out of your eyes. You had thought perhaps he had some shred of love left for you, however he just saw you as a bargaining chip.
That night you did not sleep well, tossing and turning. Dreaming about a pair of bright red eyes.
The next morning your maids had dressed your for the last time, putting you in a simple dress and cloak that wasn't too showy but was still made of fine fabrics that showed your status. A bruise had formed on your cheek from your fathers ring but that was something he didn't try to hide anymore. His daughter had a wild tongue according to him, and he needed to correct it. This wasn't the first time that he had struck you, but you were hopeful it would be the last. Unless of course your new husband was the same.
You were told you didn't need to pack anything, your husband to be would provide everything that you'd need. Least that is what they told your father. So down you went to where they were waiting, restless horses under even more restless men. They'd been giving plenty of gold and treasures to get them through the winter so they were eager to get back home. "Here she is, your future wife." The King said, presenting you to the Viking leader. You dared to look up at him, seeing the same eyes that had plagued your dreams. You watched his eyes flick around your face, lingering on your cheek before landing on your eyes. You soon looked away, not wanting to cause any new problems. It was the way you were raised, never look a man too long in the eyes. It was disrespectful. "She has some problems obeying but I am sure you can get her in line." The king winked befor pushing your towards the horse that Bakugou was on. He looked down at you before hoisting you on top of the beast to sit in front of him. Your face turned a bright pink, you'd never been this close to a man before, and his bare chest was burning into your back. You supposed that you'd have to get used to this if you were to be married soon.
Your father and future husband shared a few words with each other that you didn't pay attention to before you were off. The entire ride the few Vikings that had come along we're all talking in their own language, nothing that you understood but they seemed to be in good spirits, laughing and joking. You were lost in your own world, gently running your fingers over the horses mane before you heard the man behind you speak up. "What happened to your face?"
You weren't expecting it after how quiet he'd been for the entire ride so you jumped at the sudden noise behind you. You chewed on your cheek, deciding on an answer before landing on, "My father was correcting me. That is all." You weren't sure of the correct answer but that apparently wasn't it as you heard a grunt behind you and a small growl.
Before long you made it back to the Viking camp, which was mostly torn down at this point, bustling with activity. The boats were being packed, tents torn down and supplies being put up. You were in awe at how fast they worked, and were intrigued with the people and what they were doing. It was almost like a culture shock, you were used to the castle and this was something different. The man that was to be your husband helped you off your horse and gave you a warning to stay close. In the matter of an hour everything was packed up, you staying close to the man was he went around inspecting work and checking things before he lifted you onto a boat and climbed on himself.
The boat itself was amazing, all the little attentions to detail was beautiful, your fingers traced over the edge and the little designs there. You were again in awe, you could deal with this. If you could see little things of beauty like this then you could take it. Once set off to the sea your eyes were wide with wonder. You hadn't ever been this far before, you hadn't even been out on the water and it was breath taking. You couldn't get enough. That is... until you were sprayed in the face with the water. You coughed and shook your head, as the men on the boat laughed. You didn't complain however, you were still just in awe of the sights. What you didn't notice was a curious pair of eyes watching you from the other end of the boat, never leaving you as he watched you drink in everything. He was curious about you, that was for sure.
After getting hit with the ocean water you learned your lesson about staying too close to the edge. However as night time drew closer and the sun went below the horizon it was freezing and your cloak wasn't cutting it. However you didn't complain, instead just hugged it closer to yourself.
"It looks like your princess is going to freeze to death." One of the rowing men commented, looking over to Bakugou. "Might want to warm her up."
Bakugou heard this and in turn stood up with a grunt before walking over to you and unceremoniously dropped on of his furs onto your shoulders. You looked curiously up at him, but melted into the warmth it gave. "Thank you." You chattered out, cuddling close to the furs.
"Can't let you freeze, princess." Bakugou murmured as shuffled back over to where he came from. You watched him go and smiled softly, perhaps he wasn't so bad after all.
