Hello! For your writing game:
Steve and Tony, with kitten, chocolate, and sunshine please ☺️
Thanks for the prompt - I had a lot of fun with it! I hope you enjoy!
-------
“Cars?” Tony asked as he kicked his legs out across the hallway floor. They’d been stuck together on this spaceship for two hundred and eighty eight days--or was it eighty nine? He never knew; it was Steve’s job to flip the calendar sheets.
On the floor opposite Tony, sitting against the wall, Steve shook his head. “Not me. Motorcycles, maybe.”
“Calendars synced to Earth’s satellite system.”
Steve laughed, the one he seemed to reserve just for Tony, tinged with affection and exasperation. “How did you even get to calendars?”
“There was a connection.”
It was a game they started on day who-the-fuck-cared: What do you miss from Earth?
Tony missed watching Steve on his motorcycle, thighs straddling metal, competency radiating through every turn. But he wasn’t going to say that. Instead, he blurted out nonsense about calendars.
“Journals,” Steve continued.
“You have your journal here...” Tony had seen him scribbling in it most days, and his interest definitely wasn’t piqued every single time.
“I miss browsing through empty journals in the bookstore, the possibility of future sketches and paragraphs.”
Tony turned his foot so his leg lightly brushed against the side of Steve’s. “So poetic.” He smirked. “You should write it in a journal.”
Steve narrowed his eyes. “Your turn.”
Tony narrowed his own eyes in return. “Rim jobs.”
A month ago, Steve might have sputtered or even abruptly ended the game. But all that happened now was a faint dusting of pink across his cheeks. Tony’s favorite part of the game was throwing the most obscene thing he could think of into the mix without any segue. He’d made it through most of the sexual positions, and a large part of him was intrigued about whether Steve even knew what a ‘rim job’ was. By his reaction, he seemed to. Interesting.
“Kittens.”
Tony barked out a laugh.
“There was no connection!”
Still smiling, Tony shook his head. “I didn’t think there was, Sunshine.”
Blush deepening at the pet name, Steve pushed their legs together this time. These light, fleeting touches made Tony wonder: What would they be to each other on day five hundred?
“That kid who always sneaked his cat into the coffee shop,” Tony resumed. “Mmm, mocha lattes.”
“You chose every type of coffee, the first day we played,” Steve reminded him, leaning his head back against the wall, eyes still fixed on Tony. “But I haven’t said it yet, so, mocha lattes.”
“You’re just saying that to make me miss sweets even more.”
This time when Steve reddened, it had nothing to do with shyness or embarrassment and everything to do with duplicitousness.
“Steve….”
Cracking like an egg under the slightest of pressure, Steve’s hand found Tony’s calf and he squeezed. Tony forgot how to breathe. It’d been so long since someone had touched him, and this someone was Steve. While Tony was distracted by the touch, Steve started talking, fast. “I was saving it for your birthday, and, well, I know we talked about sharing all our commissary early on but I thought that--” Then he was gone, bolting from their confessional hallway and back again within minutes. In his hand was a chocolate bar. Tony’s favorite Godiva dark.
“You little minx.” Tony looked up at Steve, a million thoughts rushing through his head. Steve had brought this, his favorite chocolate, and hid it for a special day. Not Steve’s special day, but Tony’s. That had to mean something right?
Before Tony’s brain could dash towards conclusions that involved feelings, Steve slid into the spot next to him, shoulders brushing together before thighs and knees did the same.
“Happy Not-Birthday, Tony.” Steve opened the wrapper and split the chocolate in two, offering half out for Tony.
It was just a chocolate bar, but awe and appreciation ran through him with such force he knew it showed on his face. “Happy Not-Birthday, Steve.”
Their eyes met over the chocolate bar as they both took a bite. Steve’s gaze flicked down to Tony’s lips after he swallowed, then back up to Tony’s. “Kisses,” Steve whispered into the space between them, resuming their game.
“Chocolate kisses,” Tony countered.
“What’s that?” Steve smirked, the little lift of his lips going straight to Tony’s core.
“Let me show you.”
Sweetness erupted against Tony’s lips as they brushed against Steve’s. Suddenly it didn’t matter that they had all the time in the universe; he didn’t want to be anywhere else but here.

I saw from your ‘missing avac’ post that you’re a person of high culture, so - avac steve’s birthday as a prompt? I can’t decide if steve wanting to ask out tony because tony would be the best present OR if tony wants to ask out steve because he knows he’d be the best present OR if they’re already together and tony just wants to treat the birthday boy is the best choice? Or a combo of all three? Whatever you write i will explode with happiness
It's Steve's birthday! Oh shit!! I nearly forgot; your timing is absolutely SUPERB. Thank you for the prompt 😘 Here you go:
Such A Feelin' That My Love (I Can't Hide) on AO3 I 2,765 words | Rated G
Steve steepled his fingers, “May I have your attention, please?”
“No.” Tony said, not even bothering to look up from the reference book he was reading.
Steve had been prepared for this and so he brought out a bag of dried blueberries—the rare, expensive kind Tony liked because Steve paid attention to detail, thank you very much—and plopped it right onto the buttcrack of the reference book.
Tony’s eyes flitted to the blueberries and then warily up to Steve.
Idiotically long eyelashes, Steve thought, not for the first time.
“I’m listening.” Tony prompted, cracking the wrapper upon and shaking out a few blueberries onto his palm.
“My birthday’s coming up.” Steve started.
“So is America’s.” Tony interjected through his mouthful. It was a testament to Steve’s adoration for the boy that the sight of mushed up blueberries didn’t totally put him off.
“Tony,” Steve spread his hands out in a showy manner, “I am America.”
Tony swallowed, put the bag of blueberries into his messenger bag and then pointed at him, “That’s not as much of a flex as you think it is.”
“Have you decided on a gift for me?” Steve asked, returning to the practiced lines of the speech he’d written. Casual but to the point. Tony didn’t like long-winded shit. Et voilà: Steve had mastered the art of the short wind.
“Uh,” Tony said, appearing a tad self-conscious now as he added in a mollifying tone, “I thought the suit I made you was your gift? But, I suppose, if there’s anything else that you want. . .”
Tony’s generosity, used against him. Steve didn’t pump his fist, but it was a close thing.
“I do.” Steve nodded, “Thank you for asking.”
Tony’s eyebrows knit together, “Okay. You’re being even weirder than usual.”
“I’d like a date.” Steve announced.
Tony’s face set fully into a frown, “You can’t just buy ‘em yourself?”
“Wh—” Steve shook his head, “No, not the fruit.”
“Okay. So you want a romantic date. With—” Tony’s face cleared, “Oh. You don’t have to ask me if you want to date Pepper. We’re over-over and we have been for a while. You can just—"
“I don’t want to date Pepper.” Steve said, and then smiled meaningfully.
“What’s with the goofy smile?” Tony asked, and then his eyebrows shot up, “No!”
That was a stronger reaction than he'd expected. Steve straightened his back in anticipation of arguing his case but was interrupted by Tony before he could even say “To—”
“Rhodey?” Tony seemed beside himself, “N-O, no. You don’t have my approval.”
“Why would I need your approval?” Steve shot back instinctively before backing up when he saw Tony’s eyes widen. He threw his hands up in a show of surrender, “Not that I want to date Rhodey. That’s not what I meant!”
“Then what the hell do you mean?” Tony asked, voice fairly high-toned with distress.
Oh hell. This was derailing fast. Best to be get it out.
“You.” Steve said, “I want a date with you.”
Tony looked him over for a long, long minute that Steve had to count through to keep himself from actively freaking out. He maintained a calm, friendly smile throughout the minute even as it started to feel a little Joker-esque at the edges.
“You want to date me?” Tony went with finally.
“Absolutely.” Steve affirmed.
Tony’s eyes narrowed. “Why? Since when?”
“Since, uh—” Steve licked his lips, not in a sexy move or nothing, just ‘cause they were starting to feel dry from all the Joker-y smiling, “That time you measured me for the suit?”
“Two months, fourteen days ago?” Tony checked.
Gosh, he was smart. Steve nodded.
“Is it a Netflix and chill type-a date you’re after?” Tony asked.
And he was a little bit of an ass. A lot of ass actually, Steve amended when Tony raised his eyebrows suggestively. Least it was a cute one.
“No, more of a let’s-hold-hands-if-we’re-feeling-brave type of date.” Steve said.
“I thought you were turning seventeen?” Tony sat back, “That's middle school crap.”
“What can I say?” Steve shrugged, trying not to show that it stung a little, “I’m a late bloomer.”
“Uh-huh. I’m the opposite.” Tony crossed his arms, “Which brings me back to my first question. Why me?”
“Well, I have a list.” Steve dug into his bag and pulled out a pocket notebook, flipping it open with a flourish.
“Oh my—” Tony made a gleeful noise, arms uncrossing to cover his mouth, “You have a notebook.”
“Well, duh.” Steve gave a quick smile before clearing his throat, “Okay, first—though this is not in order of importance, F.Y.I.—but first, even though you hate Vision’s music taste, you still help him mix his music. Second, even though Jan has about fifteen-hundred complaints every time you make her a suit, you never ignore any of them and always try to follow through. Third, when you smile, you have a secret dimple on the corner of your left cheek and it’s very endearing. Fourth, you’re annoyingly precise about numbers, actually, case in point from just now—”
“Oh-kay.” Tony interjected, and oh, wow, that was a soft red on his cheeks. Steve took his pen out of the notebook’s slot and turned over to a new page.
“What are you—” Tony leaned over the table to look down at the notebook, “Are you writing down “pretty blush”?”
“Shh.” Steve said, gesturing to the “keep your voices down” sign, “It’s a library.”
“. . .Of course you would ask someone out on a date in a library.” Tony ran a palm over his face, “Wow, this is freaky on so many levels.”
Steve straightened the notebook spine with a snap, “Fifth, you have—”
“I get it, I get it.” Tony said, “I’m a fucking fantasy come to life.”
“I wouldn’t say that.” Steve said.
“Aren’t you meant to be wooing me?” Tony asked, “Insulting someone isn’t the way to go, Mr. Strategy is a Lifestyle.”
Steve looked down at his notebook, “Fifth, you’d take the ugly truth over a pretty lie.” He looked back up at Tony, “I’m the same.”
Tony’s mouth slackened and he gave Steve a onceover, “We are very different.”
“I know.” Steve agreed, “Until we’re not. And 'sides, where we do differ—it keeps things exciting. You excite me.”
“I excite you.” Tony repeated.
“Yeah.” Steve could play cool guy all he wanted but the prickly heat rising in his cheeks would just keep on betraying him.
“That’s a pretty good reason to ask someone out on a date.” Tony said in a low tone, almost to himself.
“I thought so, yeah.” Steve said.
Tony watched him for five more weighty seconds before nodding, “Okay.” He opened his bag and took the blueberries out. He put it back down on Steve’s side. “Here,” Tony gestured, “I don’t want them. Feels like a bribe when this shouldn’t be like that.”
“But it’s a—”
“You got eccentric in there, right?” Tony jutted his chin towards the notebook.
“I got prolific interrupter, that’s for sure.” Steve volleyed.
“Fair.” Tony conceded, “When do you want to do the date?”
“On my. . .birthday?” Steve blinked. Had he not mentioned that?
“Oh.” There were two spots of pink, nestled back on Tony’s cheeks, seeming to get proper cozy on them apples. “You want to go on a first date on your birthday?”
“Uh, yeah.” Steve said, “Is that too weird?”
“Um. No.” Tony said, “It’s fine. Uh, do you want me to get a booking or—”
“Oh, no! I’ll handle all that.” Steve said, and for some reason, having Tony’s agreement felt like a decent throw of the shield. He was feeling the same combination of nervy and ready, that familiar thrumming anticipation of a clean return.
“Okay, then.” Tony set his hands flat on the table, “Text me the details.”
“I will.” Steve said, getting up, “I’ll let you get back to your reading.”
“Don’t tell anyone you saw me in here.” Tony warned, bringing a finger up to his lips before smoothing down a page of the book, “It'll ruin my street cred.”
Steve grinned to himself before leaving, shaking his head a little at his dumb luck.
Or, rather, his genius-billionaire-playboy-philanthropist luck.
He shook himself a little as he made the trek back to his room. He had a date to plan and a birthday wish to make true.
.
The sun was setting low in the sky when they got back to campus.
“Happy birthday, Cap!” Doreen greeted as she walked by, tail visibly perking up when she caught notice of their swinging hands. Thankfully, she didn’t make any comment about it, passing on without a reaction.
"Thanks, Doreen!"
Steve got a few more birthday wishes and a lot more students staring at their hands, but they still managed to get back to Tony’s tower without anyone asking them point-blank what the hell they were walking around with their hands intertwined for.
“That was fun.” Tony said, standing at the entrance to his tower. He unwound his hand from Steve's, “Uh, I mean it. Really.”
“Thank you for agreeing to the date.” Steve offered him a friendly smile because he still didn't know how to give him a romantic one. Google had said "smirk" but that couldn't possibly be a thing, right?
“Thank you for inviting me.” Tony volleyed, “I had a good time.”
“I’m glad.” Steve said, wishing he’d prepared a segue for after the date.
He’d been so concerned about getting to the restaurant without some Hydra attack pulling them elsewhere, and once they’d sat down at the restaurant, he’d been occupied with the conversation—at first in keeping it going and then after ten minutes, totally lost to it. It had been all that Steve had hoped for: conversation that was sharp and teasing, food that was hearty and indulgent, and company that was invested and pretty. They hadn’t really stopped talking until they got back to campus, and when Steve had dared to bring his hand down to Tony's, the boy didn't stop his spiel about A.I.M. for even a second to react, just turned Steve's hand over and intertwined their fingers like they'd done it a million times before. It had been a promising bubble to float in, and Steve didn’t know how to bridge the distance now that it had burst.
“Y’have a good date?” Tony asked.
“No complaints.” Steve smiled again, though the edges were beginning to feel brittle. Then, there was that same stilted silence for an agonising half-minute before Tony shook his head, shuffled his feet and stepped closer.
“So does the next one have to be on my birthday or. . .?” Tony trailed off, quicksilver smile and dancing eyes.
“You want another one?” Steve asked hopefully, breath caught in his throat.
“Yeah, I do.” Tony said, tilting his head a little coyly, “What, you need me to give you a notebook, too?”
“No, I don’t—” Steve inhaled, grin simmering inside him, just about held back. “So, really good date then.”
“I think we could work together.” Tony said, before amending, “I mean, we already work together but I think, I think we could work even better. Differently and better.”
“There’s that engineering brain.” Steve pointed out, “That’s also in the notebook.”
“I don’t like notebooks,” Tony said, tone like he was just wondering aloud, “But I could open up a Stark sheet.”
“. . .Yeah?” Steve asked. He felt like kicking his feet against the pavement, like pumping his fist in the air. Again.
“First, you’re ridiculously chivalrous.” Tony said, “And it should annoy me but it really doesn’t.”
Steve rubbed a hand over his mouth, trying to dispel his grin.
“Second, you don’t get annoyed by the sheer barrage of people that come to you with their personal problems even though you totally could.” Tony said, “Especially on your birthday.”
“Well, it was an easy climb,” Steve said, “Who knows how long it would have taken to convince Hairball to come down?”
“Third, you have a very symmetrical smile.” Tony said, “It’s very nice to look at.”
“Aw shucks, Tony.” Steve said, “I get it. You don’t have to say all that.”
“What, so you can have a notebook, but I can’t say I find you stupidly handsome?” Tony asked.
“Well, I—”
“Oh my god, just kiss already!”
Steve and Tony startled, glancing up to see Kamala at the head of a gaggle of younger students peering down at them.
“Why are you on my tower?” Tony called up, throwing out his arms dramatically, “Does privacy mean nothing to you?”
Kamala’s head ducked down, and then, like a row of meerkats, so did the other students.
Steve huffed, “Well, that’s something.”
“They’re a little bit onto something.” Tony gave him a curious look, “What are your thoughts on a birthday kiss?”
Steve blinked, flushing inadvertently at the directness of the question, “Positive.”
“First of many, I hope.” Tony said, and it was even more direct, and this—a Tony going after something he wanted—was heady stuff. It settled in Steve with a rushing sense of rightness. He’d caught the shield and its weight was centering.
“I agree.” He said.
“Wonders never cease.” Tony’s eyes near-twinkled as he smiled, “We’re agreeing.”
“Who knows what’ll happen when we kiss?” Steve joked.
“Good segue.” Tony said, snapping his fingers.
He finally got there. It was an awkward sidestep dance before they moved forward, and then Tony got his hands on Steve’s neck, and everything narrowed down to just Tony and him.
Steve inhaled sharply, worried that the sprawl of Tony’s fingers on his neck would catch onto how quickly his heart was beating. This close, he could smell Tony’s cologne. This close, he could watch Tony’s pupils dilate.
“Okay?” Tony murmured, and his breath hit Steve’s lips.
Steve brought his hands to Tony’s waist (!!!), and leaned down. He pressed his lips to Tony’s, dry and brief, overthinking the gesture for a second before Tony tilted his head, just the slightest, and then pressed firm against Steve. The kiss became a proper nice one then, and when Tony’s mouth parted, Steve's followed suit. And that was different. New different. Good different.
They broke apart after about—fifteen-ish seconds. Steve could probably ask Tony for the exact number, but he didn’t think that asking how long a kiss lasted was the best question to ask directly after a first kiss. Not if he wanted the ordinal indicator to mean something in the long-term.
“Hell of a late bloom.” Tony murmured.
“Hm?”
“Hell of a late bloom.” Tony wrinkled his nose self-effacingly, “Uh, from when you asked me out and I was being a bit of a dick about you being wholesome and then you said—”
“I’m a late bloomer, right.” Steve recalled, “I remember.”
“Just—it's a hell of a late bloom. In that case.” Tony exhaled roughly, “Uh, is it just me or were those fourteen seconds kind of brilliant?”
Steve’s grin was stretching his cheeks before he could even think to hide it, “You’re lovely, you know?”
A flash of confusion shaded Tony’s face for a brief moment before the boy smiled back at him, a slight uncertainty to their set, “You too, you know?”
“. . .How’s tomorrow?” Steve asked.
“What?”
“Our second date.” Steve clarified.
“Yes.” Tony agreed swiftly, “Was that too quick of an answer?”
“I don’t care.” Steve said, “I’m just happy you said yes.”
The uncertainty faded from Tony’s face at that reply, leaving behind only unfiltered delight, “Thank you for asking me. Both times.”
“You’re welcome.”
“Good birthday, then?” Tony checked.
“Best one yet.” Steve answered readily.
Tony’s smile was enchanting, lingering warmly like sunlight on skin even when Tony said goodbye and walked back into the tower. Steve stayed there, at the entrance, for a minute or two, luxuriating in the feeling of everything going right.
Then, with all of his exhilaration and joy rising in him like a mentos in a coke bottle, he finally let himself be free.
He pumped his fist in the air.
“Happy birthday, Cap!”
Of course, Kamala chose that moment to send a wish down. He quickly dropped his arm before turning to face her.
“Uh, thanks Kamala!” Steve called up, probably red as a tomato.
“You guys are a cute couple!” Kamala called down, “Looks like your birthday wish came true!”
Steve blinked and then smiled at the correctness of that, hand coming up to rub the nape of his neck where he could still feel Tony's fingers.
"Yeah, I guess it really did."

“Oh my god, is that a carousel?”
Tony stops in the middle of Boston Common, causing Jim to walk into him and almost drop his ice cream cone. He looks at where Tony is pointing, and sure enough, there’s a carousel. Before Jim could answer, Tony grabs his arm and starts dragging him over to the ride.
“Come on!”
They end up riding the carousel six times, Tony insisting they stay on so he can hop on a different seat each time. He’s like a kid discovering something new for the first time, and Jim later finds out that’s exactly the case.
“I was never allowed to go to any fairs or amusement parks,” Tony explains over pizza. “Howard always says I have more important things to do than to play around in a park. I don’t know, I guess that’s the cost of being a child genius. You miss out on a few things growing up.”
Jim narrows his eyes at that. Every time he hears another anecdote about Howard Stark, his urge to punch the man grows stronger. He wipes his hands on a napkin, and with it the unpleasantness of hearing Howard’s name. As Tony changes the topic and starts telling a story about his last run-in with their building’s superintendent, Jim starts brainstorming.
---
For their next long weekend, Jim finishes all his assignments early and drives them almost two hours along the coast to Palace Playland in Maine, a beachfront amusement park and arcade that’s been around since the turn of the century. He came here with his family once a few years ago, when he was a sophomore in high school, and he’s looking forward to sharing the experience with Tony. He watches as Tony shuts the car door and takes in the sight before him, eyes wide and bright and entire body twitching with barely contained excitement.
He gets them both tickets and returns to where Tony is standing near the entrance, studying a map of the park.
“So, where do you want to start?” he asks.
Tony points to the pirate ship. “There! We’re going to try all the rides first, and then the arcade.”
“Sounds like a plan.”
Tony grabs Jim’s hand, ushers them through the entrance, and runs towards the pirate ship where a line is just starting to form.
---
Four hours, two corn dogs, three funnel cakes, and one snow cone later, they’re finally ready to head into the arcade.
They step through into the 20,000 square foot space where all the games are located and Tony pauses, taking it all in.
“Holy shit.”
His eyes land on the giant prize counter that lines one wall of the room, then he turns back to Jim. “We can win those? By playing games?”
“Yup.”
“Well then what are we waiting for? Rhodey! I want that giant stuffed platypus. I need it. Show me how good you are at skeeball and get me that platypus!”
Turns out, Jim is garbage at skeeball. But between the two of them, the sheer amount of options in games they have at the arcade, and the three hours they spend there, they manage to rack up enough tickets for the stuffed toy and more.
At the end of the day, they walk back to where the car is parked, Jim holding the bags of prize candy and knickknacks they’ve won while Tony hugs the stuffed platypus to his chest. The toy is so big that Tony has to angle his head around it to see where they’re going and Jim has to keep a hand on Tony’s elbow to guide the way. Tony bumps into a couple cars before they make it to their own, where he straps the platypus safely into its own seat in the back like it’s his child.
Before Jim could start the car, Tony leans across the centre console and flings his arms around him, squeezing tightly in a hug full of gratitude.
“Best day ever,” Tony says softly. “Thanks for bringing me here, Rhodey.”
“I’m just glad I could make you happy, Tones,” Jim responds, stroking gently between Tony’s shoulder blades.
“You always do.”

helloo tony stark for the bingo board?? 😘
Helloooooo you mean my absolute number one darling best beloved!!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Tumblr media
This is definitely a case of ‘I first saw an Iron Man movie when I was 13 and Sad and I was instantly drawn to Tony and latched onto him and he became my Emotional Support Character for life.’
What’s always, always enamored me to Tony was the way his mental health struggles are front and center in his stories: a peak Tony storyline in my opinion features him fighting against internal battles like guilt or anxiety or panic or addiction just as much as it is facing off against external foes as well. That juxtaposition between how Tony thinks of himself vs how all of his friends and acquaintances and teammates and mentees and employees and random civilians he’s saved and loved ones and even most of his villains regard him has always been very meaningful to me.
Even though my own issues are much more mundane than Tony’s, in some ways it kind of feels like I can harbor more acceptance and patience for the messy and frustrating parts of my own MH journey through loving him as much as I do, if that makes sense.
I’m just now getting into Iron Man comics, but one grievance that I share with many tony fans is the way that some current writers try to make him into a more realistic billionaire character, which unfortunately just makes him a rich asshole with a mech suit. Even when Tony was introduced as a mere multi-millionaire in the ‘60s, he was never meant to reflect the attitudes of real wealthy businessmen and I think it’s absurd that someone would try and interpret his story through that lens.
Which isn’t even to say that I don’t think Tony can’t act like a rich asshole, just that that’s fundamentally not who he is. I think EMH & the MCU both do a good job of demonstrating how he can use that persona as a defense mechanism, another mask to protect himself with.
So given all of that, I think he can sometimes veer into wasted potential & done dirty by creators territory, but the great thing abt comics is that there’s always another Iron Man arc happening you can jump onto instead!
Which is probably to say that Tony actually gets way more than enough screen time, but again like with Steve, it will never be enough for me and I’ll always want more of him (especially considering the fact that a not-insignificant chunk of his screen time is so woefully out of character😭💔).

hello i’m back
1. being mean to tony stark is a hate crime against me personally and the avengers in general. Everyone else can take the hate and the trolls online and the bad press but tony just. Internalises it in a way no else does. Tony gets bad press and nat’s like ‘do you want to get stabbed’ and steve’s like ‘do i stay to shower tony in affection or do i go to find the author and make them Regret their Decisions’ and rhodey’s like ‘he might be a pain in the ass but he’s MY pain in the ass 😤’ and the rest of the avengers like notonmywatch.gif
2. i love italian!tony. I live for it. Give me tony singing lullabies in italian to his babies bc it connects him to maria 🥺 give me tony going to hole in the wall italian places and jabbering away with the nonno and nonna who run it in italian and every time they see him they’re like ‘you’re too skinny!’ and on the outside tony’s like ‘don’t be silly’ and on the inside he’s like ‘i love you’
3. this is what i would do if i was rich so i like the idea of tony doing it - going on gofundme to pay off people’s medical bills and school debt. Tony knows he’s a clever cookie but he also knows he thrived bc he had so many opportunities to thrive and the best world is a world where everyone gets to thrive together without being shackled by debt
4. tony cried over the opportunity rover when she sent her last message and no one can convince me otherwise
5. tony has been as princess leia to halloween……a Number of times. Most of them are gold bikini!leia
HELLO welcome back! i swear to god you must live in my brain or something because these are all exactly my aesthetic when it comes to tony.
protecting tony from haters and trolls is a full time job and everyone is happy to do it. if they could roll him up in metaphorical bubble wrap that keeps the hurtful comments from reaching him they absolutely would. on top of his family there's also jarvis and the bots that wouldn't even hesitate to get back at the trolls. jarvis tracks down the ip addresses and sends viruses to their devices and dum-e and u go old school with paper and pen, writing hate mail in binary code to send to those assholes.
italian!tony is literally my favorite honestly now that you're bringing this back up i just want to write a fic purely on this. his favorite memories are summers spent back in italy with maria's side of the family, and maria had her own little community in new york when she moved there, and tony still stays in touch with them because he loves his mom and anything that reminds him of her. he was distraught when one of his favorite restaurants was destroyed during the battle with loki and did everything in his power to help that family get back on their feet. he loves them and he's the restaurant owner's grandkid's godparent.
tony absolutely WOULD trawl through gofundme to find all the people who need help and donate as much as they need. the only thing is he knows how shady gofundme can be with their administration fees and he doesn't trust that all the money would go to the people in need, so he has jarvis track them down and wires the money directly into their accounts. he just wants everyone to have as many opportunities as possible, and that means giving them a chance at a healthier life and top tier education so they can make the future a little brighter. if he's lucky, he might even get to work with them one day.
he definitely contemplated making his own way to mars to wake opportunity back up, but his deep seated fear of space ultimately got the better of him. he's still finding other avenues to get in contact with oppy. he will not give up hope as long as he lives.
and listen....... he can still fit into the gold bikini he first got during his college days. sometimes he breaks it out in the bedroom Just Because He Can. RIP to his partner they lived a good life.

my dude i have sooo many thoughts about tony stark
1. He’s like…my dad. He’s old and silly but i wanna hug him all the time. Eat more veggies and don’t forget your meds and pls can I borrow some money
2. He’s also…..my baby. Precious boy. Want to make him happy always and give him the world. Don’t care what or who he does i just want him to be happy and make sure his s/o’s treat him right
3. I just…admire him so much?? He’s just a squishy human - a smart one but squishy none the less - and he goes toe to toe with people who are Very Mean and Much Less Squishy and he’s such a smart bean and he just wants to do good in the world and he beats himself up all the time because he wants to be Better and he’s so committed to humanity and atoning for his mistakes and ughh no one is doing it like him
4. He is the prettiest avenger. I’m biased but i’m also right and all the other avengers know it. When he’s out in public as Tony Stark and Serving Looks people triple take. They stop in their tracks. They walk into poles. They trip into fountains. He knows he’s hot and i LOVE that for him
i have more thoughts but here are some of them
hi, excuse me, i love all your thoughts about tony stark.
he's everyone's dad. the ultimate dad. he'll take care of you and make sure you have everything you need and everything you want. what do you mean, borrow money? he's not in the loaning business. anything you ask for, he gives freely. you have done nothing wrong, ever, in your life, and he knows this and he loves you. you ask him, "money pleeeaase" and he'll give you everything that's in his pocket.
he's a precious darling sweetheart who deserves everything good in the world. if i could give him the moon, i would, and his partner would do the same. anything at all to put a smile on his face, because someone as beautiful as him should be smiling always.
he really is the best role model. he sets an incredible example. he teaches us that no matter how far we fall, we can get back up and do better. he learns from his mistakes, never makes them twice, and just continues to improve with everything he does. he doesn't hold himself on a pedestal and lifts others up, fosters and encourages growth for the next generation. he gives us all hope, lets us all know that we, too, can reframe our future.
he's gorgeous in every way. luscious hair, sparkly eyes, perfectly trimmed facial hair. he knows how to dress and bring attention to himself in all the best ways. his confidence and charisma make him even sexier on top of all that. he doesn't even have to try. he's just fucking beautiful.
Tumblr media
women and men alike want to not only be with him, but to be him. because he's just the whole damn package.
