Let me protect you ❄️
Day 1: Winter
Relationship: Agatha Harkness/Rio Vidal, Agathario + Nicholas Scratch.
Summary: As winter arrives Agatha has to put aside her anger in order to protect her new baby.
Words: 565
A/N: Meant to post this on the first of Dec but got distracted hehe. Also i have no idea what the correct baby milestones are. Enjoy!
Nicholas was growing fast. Even for a witch who had lived as long as Agatha had it was strange how quickly it had gone. Almost half a year old now by her math. He was getting so big but Nicky was still such a sickly child. He had been since the day he was born. Agatha’s heart ached thinking about that day.
“Please let him live! Please my love!”
Rio had told her the baby wouldn’t make it. That’s when she had left their shared cottage, somehow thinking she could outrun death just long enough to hold her baby. But death comes for us all eventually.
Nicholas was lying on his stomach inspected the grass around him. Giggling at the small bugs and flowers he could see. Agatha watched smiling as he made some good attempts at crawling on his own but the lingering feeling of dread was never too far.
The mornings had been growing colder as of late and Agatha had experienced enough trips around the sun to know what was to come. Soon the woodland they called home would be covered in snow and ice, and for the first time in decades she would have no shelter to protect herself. More importantly she would have no way of protecting Nicky.
The weeks went by and it only grew worse. The ground too cold and hard for Nicky to lay on, instead Agatha had him tightly wrapped up close to her chest to keep him as warm as possible. Despite this, his cries told her it was all in vain. His red runny nose and flemmy cough were clear signs she had to find shelter and fast. The nights were starting earlier and it would only get colder.
As she walked through the woods Agatha heard footsteps behind her, she turned around sharply, clutching Nicky close to her. “Who goes there!” She demanded before laying eyes on a painfully familiar face. “No please you can’t—“
“Agatha,” Rio said calmly, “relax. I’m not here on business.”
Agatha’s face contorted with anger as Nicky began to stir from his nap. She lowered her voice as not to upset him further.
“Why have you come. I told you I never wanted to see—“
“Agatha,” Rio said sternly cutting her off “Nicky needs shelter. Come home, my love.”
Rio’s face was soft, and her eyes kind, as she nervously fiddling with a flower. Rio slowly walked closer to the other witch.
“I don’t want to see your face, i told you that.” Nicky had woken up and began to cry, Agatha rubbed circles on his back trying to soothe him.
“He’ll die. Agatha. You know that.”
“How can i trust you?” Agatha took a step back before Rio could reach her.
“Because,” Rio continued to walk towards her, “He’s my son too…”
Agatha allowed Rio to close the gap between them taking the flower she’d brought along. A peace offering she assumed. Rio placed her hand on Agatha’s slowly tracing circles on Nicky’s back along with her. His crying stopped.
“Come, let me protect you.”
“I don’t need protecting.”
“Then let me protect him.” Rio’s eyes pleaded with her. “I promised time. I want to give you time. As much time as I can.”
Rio looked down at Nicholas as he snuggled against Agatha’s chest, her eyes stinging with tears knowing what she must one day do.

I've kinda seen some pushback to the idea of representation in media and I don't necessarily think it's bad to point out actual rights are more important than Disney's thousandth first gay character that's fine, but I've had a LOT of people comment on my works about asexual characters and tell me what I wrote changed their life-and it's always that phrase- because they now have the language to describe what they feel. I've had people who ARENT ace or aro comment that what I wrote finally made a concept they didn't understand make sense, or that the way I explained things was interesting and enlightening and I'm kind of a mediocre writer who hasn't written anything in ages.
Like idk, if reading something from a writer who is fucking around and only somewhat talented can genuinely impact someone because they've not seen anything like them reflected back at them in life or media I don't think pushing for representation in media is as "needless" as some people seem to think and caring about that doesn't mean you don't care about more "important" (although if you think seeing people like you in media ISNT important it's because you already have that representation or are privileged enough to not care if you do, in which case maybe pipe down) stuff. Hell, I even got a Facebook message ages ago from someone who found a comment I left in an ace group about QPR's and what they meant to me and how I perceived them and the person no joke said what I wrote two years before they even found it changed their life forever because they finally knew what kind of relationship they actually wanted.
So like sure, of course there's always bigger fish to fry them diversity in media (you know, like diversity in real life lol) but I don't think it's as frivolous as some people are beginning to act like it is. At least not if you're an aspec person it's not, I STILL don't see ace characters almost ever and I'll bet my whole everything if I asked a writer of a show why they'd tell me that EVERYONE has to be in a sexual relationship and characters that aren't won't sell and are boring- I say this because in film school I had a teacher TELL ME every character needed to basically be sex obsessed and when I pointed out a GREAT MANY CHARACTERS are not revolved around sex (Supernatural stars two brothers, I pointed out) and when she asked if I had love interests I was like ??? That doesn't matter- using my aforementioned supernatural example almost all their love interests die or get mind wiped because at the end of the day that's not what the story was about. So actually I think writers who act like that teacher need like 50 reality checks, and representation in stories isn't unimportant and also support indie writers you'll probably find more funky shit there then Disney anyway lmao.
And also even the asexual characters I DO see in media don't remind me at all of myself even if I appreciate the effort, but they never feel real or genuine and their sexuality doesn't get a lot of exploration so 🤷🏻♀️ I actually could use more media focused on characters that I can genuinely see my sexuality reflected in in a meaningful and narratively impactful way because I've got nothing.
#winters ramblings#todd from bojack horseman im sure is SOMEONES version of asexuality but i dont see ANYTHING of myself in him#great character dont get me wrong but not relatable to me on any level including our shared sexuality#sex ed got a bit closer with their brief ace character although maybe she got more exploration in season three or four??#the latest one i havent watched lmao. but being closer and having a moment wjere shes told shes not broken#while DEEPLY vindicating isnt necessarily all im looking for either#like i wamt a REAL character thats ace or aro or both thats written by people who UNDERSTAND what theyre writting#not just well meaning people who dont know what theyre doing its kind of tiring#also idk why theres no dating shows with gay men because reality dating shows are ALL ABOUT who fucks who and who gets together#gay men would be hooking up ALL OVER THE PLACE and the DRAMA youd think reality tv freaks would be SALIVATING#but no none of that lmao. just ru pauls drag race and thats great it is like its not my bag but people love it#back on yrack though the weord blowback representation is getting is strange and its VERY clear to me#the people writing those posts havent gotten dozens on dozens of messages from people like them who found their writing#and haf their life altered forever for the better because someone who KNOWS what theyre talking about wrote a character like them#and it opened doors they never knew existed. doesnt even need to happen with fiction either i had a friend i had in toronto#tell me the info i sent to her on being aromantic changed her life- THAT'S the phrase i keep getting thats TELLING- because it describefld#described** how shes felt her whole life but didnt have words for. how frivolous IS representation if im getting these messages?#not very i dont think if some rsndom indie fic writer who hadnt written anything substantial in years can change someones life#REPEATEDLY might i add. ive been getting a LOT of messages like this lately and seeing this new bramd of discourse latetly too#like maybe YALL have enough that you dont care anymore but speak for your fucking selves

omg there's so many antis in the bungou stray dogs fandom it pisses me off. specifically because i had a mutual realise i was proship and was like but writing about incest and pedophilia makes you all those things.
however, in bungou stray dogs there's two canonical siblings (there's theories they aren't actually related and are lovers pretending so people don't think they're dating bcz of a big age gap bcz bungou stray dogs characters are based off of novel characters and authors and thats a book plot with characters with the same names as these siblings, however it's just a theory) and it is HEAVILYYY implied they are fucking, even the characters themeselves aknowledge they act like lovers and are weird and tell the protaganists to just ignore them. and idk if it's my translation of one of the light novels but there's a line in one where it legit says "naomi(16 yr old sister) tried to force herself onto tanizaki(18 yr old brother)" probably not word for word but i havent read it in a while and its basically played for laughs bcz its mentioned as a one off line for when the brother goes into a kitchenette alone and never mentioned after, literally gave me whiplash i was like u can just drop that line and noT MENTION IT AGAIN??? and these antis are reading the manga and watching the show and aknowledge therae siblings are fucking and then harrass anyone who ships siblings.
Also, there's an anthology (although tbh i'm not sure if the anthologies are considered canon but otherwise it's also implied that this character is a pedo for his magical superpower that manifiests as a prepubescent girl) where this just calls his superpower that's sort of a prepubescent girl his "wife" and everyone in the fandom hates him for that (and never the fact that he controls the whole damn mafia and has canonically mentally messed with kids so bad one got put in a mental hospital and didn't even want to leave anymore) also like they harrass and call anyone who likes his character(or even finds him well written) a pedo. but the author, who wrote this probably a pedo guy and these siblings fucking, no one hates him (hell, there's even people saying it's all the 16 yr old girls fault bcz tanizaki is too pure, honestly like 1, seems kinda sexist how ur blaming the girl who's a child 2, THEY AREN'T REALLL, IT'S NEITHERS FAULT THAT THEIR FUCKING, ITS THE AUTHORSSS.
there's antishippers who will say anyone who ships a ship where one character met the other as a teen and adult should kill themselves bcz it's gross. however the teen canonically grew up after the guy died and said that if the guy was a woman he would've comitted double suicide with him (please note this is said by a character who makes it very clear they want to commit double suicide with a woman they find attractive and are in love with bcz it would be sooo "romantic").
like the author has written all these icky ships and given them some sort of material, if you're gonna tell the people who ship those ships to kill themselves and that you'll shit in their food (real things these antis have said btw) then at least denounce the author too? like not even sent hate but at least understand this fandom isn't for you and its for people can handle icky fictional stuff.
The BSD and BB fandoms are terrifying.

havent seen tar either but how did she betray her lesbian fanbase
Tár is a reactionary cancel culture movie disguised as an art piece, basically. Written and directed by a heterosexual man. I'm not going to say it has no artistic value at all, but I would argue it's not unlike when "sexual harassment" was coined and legislated against, and then there's media about men being sexually harassed by women and how vulnerable and victimized they are--even though we know this is not how sexual harassment plays out, statistically.
The movie is about a highly acclaimed lesbian orchestral conductor who uses her position to sexually prey on and manipulate the careers of female musicians. It is explicitly a response to online cancel culture and #MeToo. It is a complete misrepresentation of basic reality. In the actual music world, male conductors have allegations of sexual assault against them (and their careers bounce back!) while female conductors experience widespread discrimination as well as sexual harassment.
People have responded to these criticisms by saying it's art, women aren't perfect angels and can commit crimes, it's supposed to make you think, etc. Of course, dark scenarios dealing with challenging subject matter can and should be addressed in fiction, even statistically unlikely ones. But fiction is not separable from the culture in which it is produced, and which it, in turn, produces. This is not a world where patriarchal violence is readily recognized. This is in fact not a world where "cancelling" on the basis of said violence even works! Look at all the famous men with allegations against them still thriving today!
But for some reason, the important story to tell, the one that matters, is the one that reinforces not only the patriarchal fantasy of "women are just as bad as us, SEEEEEEEEEE?" but also the profoundly lesbophobic fantasy of the lesbian predator. People loooooove to imagine lesbians as hungry to burrow into the vulnerable coochies of uninterested nonles women. It's a patriarchal reversal: rather than acknowledge the reality, produce propaganda that pins male violence on women. It was all our fault and doing all along, actually! Shocker.
Meanwhile, Cate Blanchett has acknowledged that she has a huge lesbian fan base. She's happy for us to spend our money seeing her movies and theatre performances (I even saw her in "The Present" with Richard Roxburgh--she was ethereal as hell) and to drum up social media buzz and engagement for her. But she is also happy to collaborate in this patriarchal mythmaking that suggests that, against the grain of reality, we're just waiting in the wings for our opportunity to seize power and prey on women. Then she can take off the costume, collect her accolades, and go home to her husband and kids. Must be nice.

🍯 author you know
🌻 least favourite character / hardest to write
🌷 writing achievement you want to brag about
summertime writers' asks
🍯 author you know
im the only person on this planet who knows andré tellier, other than my fc mates and coworkers who are constantly bombarded with the misadventures of my lil wet meow meow man. its still a mess but behold:
https://andretellier.com/
🌻 least favourite character / hardest to write
i havent written a character i disliked using in a while.... sometimes i get a bit stuck when im writing a friend's oc tho, bc i wanna represent them well and give them a fun setting/concept. allen, jorge, and the rest of jillian's spouses in my mafia, vigil, are super difficult to write since i lack a firm plot for them. they have many vibes, quirks, and conflicts that are interesting, but not enough to be able to write them on demand like my ishgardians.
🌷 writing achievement you want to brag about
honestly i still cant believe i wrote my thesis. i can see all the issues with it now (took years to find the strength to look at it again), but i really put everything my dying brain could muster in undergrad to complete it. i had no idea what i was doing, wanted to tear my hair out when my thesis director had me rewrite my prospectus 5 times, and submitted it while crying that i needed more time.
it was abt siegfried sassoon. he wrote abt wwi constantly, so he would revisit, rewrite, and recontextualize the same event in different formats & with different life perspectives. i analyzed the way his language for describing trauma changed as he aged & developed his voice. then i put his techniques into practice by writing a first person (the real HORROR) epistolary wwi story.
and then i got an a+. and was nominated to join phi beta kappa for it. my director had nothing but good things to say, and she was awed by how immersive my wwi diction was while my analysis of sass convinced her that he was much more than what she'd been teaching in her 1-day segment on the war poets. when i find my notes tearing apart his poems, diaries, fiction, and memoirs, i cant believe how smart i was
#idk how stupid it would be to make business cards w tellier.com on it#for when we go to nyc (AND SEE YOU!!!!🎵😍😭❤️)#and i force jillian to stand outside his apartment w me so i can point at it and be like#yeah so before someone paid like $4 a month for that closet sized dwelling#WITH A BATH TUB IN THE KITCHEN#a mediocre gay poet lived there. and unfortunately im obsessed w him (we know)#brianna babbles#4 THOUSAND BTW#i think at least im too lazy to check rn. 41 perry st apartment....4d i think

Woah whats this about a big series your working on? I saw ur reblog of that oc ask post and now left curious. Could I hear a bit about it from you?
//Future me here, who just finished writing all that out, warning for a LONG LONG paragraph of everything. As in it's like 6k+ words (I DIDNT USE A WORD COUNTER SO YEAH THATS PRACTICALLY A GUESS-)
Of course! To explain, there are two series-es
One being, An Universal Animatronic Revolution (AUAR), aka where Mixie is from alongside Axel.
The second one being, Lifetales (LT, THE NAME IS BEING WORKED ON SHHHSHSHSHSH), which is where Platinum and the rest of the Triple HHH Court come from.
Now to note, these two are actually apart of the same multiverse. AUAR and LT are basically groups for my OCs, not like "Oh this one is fantasy and this one goes to cyberpunk" no it's more like how they'd work in these two worlds.
LifeTales takes place in a historical-fiction type world where it's it own world, while also bringing in IRL concepts (ex: religions, irl nationalities, etc). But it's mainly explored in the present timeline considering the time before it wasn't, yknow, it didnt have all that yet
Basically the world first started as it's own. Instead of the current continents, it has five continents based on the five "Entities" being the Triple H Court. Note that I am not referring to the current generation of the same court, but rather a different court.
Now it's important to mention that the multiverse of LifeTales only consists of 6 universes.
The first one, being the main universe, aka where Selene and Golian originated before they died and reincarnated as Platinum and Gold, where the five continents are
The rest, well, they take place in other eras in time. Take the universe where Ruby, but otherwise known as Cathmore before he reincarnated into Ruby, had lived in. It was basically the 1930s.
Now I havent expanded on the 4 other universes yet. But it'll most likely not exist in the future considering they're just placeholders for how I'll world build the places the entities lived in before they were entities.
But as for AUAR? Basically it's a multiverse, it's main genre being Science-fiction. A big one, that's publically explored. The universe Mixie comes from, she's basically from the real world, the current timeline of the universe in the story being between 2010-2013. While the universe she stumbles into, Retro Way's timeline is 2019-2022
Retro Way is also the center of this multiverse, being a universe of it's own with the mix of people from all sorts of universes yes but while also being a sort of HQ for all experienced multiversal travellers (Except Doctor Strange, sorry MCU fans the MCU in this multiverse is still known as media)
Now to note, in Mixie's universe, Multiversal Travel isn't much known. In a way where she and the people she's with havent exactly been to the places where the "portals" and all the multiversal travel stuff is at.
And another thing to note, Retro Way still has it's residents aka theres still people from there. And yes nationalities still exist, if your born in Retro Way and had parents with Dutch origins, your nationality would be Dutch.
Now as much as I'd love to like SPILL all the story of AUAR and LifeTales, I wouldn't want to spill it too soon considering, well this:
AUAR is one generation of 10 generations (technically 11 adding in the prequel for it, Everyday Engineering aka EE), specifically theres 12 seasons in AUAR, adding two new seasons each generation. And within each season theres 12 episodes, which to my calculations since the last time I updated the planout doc of that, was enough to supply 2-6 plots.
Now I already have an idea of 3/10 generations but I havent like, written all chapters/episodes down aka I havent translated every single daydream into a chapter yet.
On the otherhand
LifeTales has three "eras" or generations in a way. The first one being, well, the backstories. Mainly the backstories of Platinum and Gold, and other characters that'll appear in Era 3
The second Era is basically, the current timeline. How their life is going, what they're doing, the current timeline of that era, etc. (While also having a similar plot-planout to AUAR, aka their life isn't too casual, they still have their adventures and bits of character growth)
The third era, well, it's basically the current timeline but it actually moves on from the current plot. It expands on new plots and has more character growth than last Era, also expanding more into other characters' backstories than the first Era.
But alas, until these two stories/series are done, I cannot confirm it has solid conclusions YET
I'll of course post randoms bit from random parts of these two stories on my tumblr, and on my other socials whenever I can
#WELCOME WELCOME BUSINESS INTO THE ASK BOX!!#LOVELY SEEING NEW ASKERS#And my GOSH you were a life saver by ssending in an ask like that#I SERIOUSLY NEEDED TO NOTE DOWN ALL THESE DETAILS ONTO SOMEWHERE CAUSE MY MEMORY WAS GETTING FOGGY HAGDHDHDHHD#mail call! ^^#cheesyversial rants#lifetales#lifetales (??)#auar#an universal animatronic revolution

For that one alhaitham android fic, I'm going to kiss you on the forehead everynight platonicly because your work is that good. Like- I'm bad at complimenting people, but from the one i've read and shy to tell you how gut wrenching it is.
The way you wrote makes me feeling lots of stuff in the same time (Good way in any possible way), I'm jealous on how you be able to convey feeling and story, I cry, I laughed, I enjoy every fic. The fic you written always have me on my edge of my seat. I'm writing this while I'm supposed to study but damn i do not regret using my time to see this beautifully well crafted writing, and that Frankestein mention at the end. hi hi hi i’m sorry about the everything in life for a distraction i would love to hear your detailed thoughts on your favorite mcr albums or taylor albums or a detailed ranking of either i just love Music Opinions and also i hope things get better soon<3
thank you sm for sending in <3
im terrible at ranking so ill turn to opinions hmmmm
My favorite mcr album changed by day hour minute but i think i wanna talk about.....bullets....yeah bc bullets is so insane as just a sheer proof of concept, like an expression of raw skill and talent that was growing within this band. Rays guitar work alone was enough for it to make complete sense for major labels to be knocking at the bands door begging to suck them off and then they also had GERARD!!! And this was even before mikey really could write bass parts and frank was still not really in the band like its just ray gerard and geoff (and otter who wrote drum parts that r cool but also somehow out of his skill range? girl you MADE THEM). The fact that vampires not onky exists but was like the second or third song written? Like before mcr gerard either never wrote music or wrote shitty three chord throwaway punk that existed as an excuse to print band stickers and arent even good enough to save on tape and then you decide to start writing for real to cope with major national level trauma and your first song is SKYLINES??? and youre next songs are VAMPIRES and OUR LADY OF SORROWS???? and oh my god the vocals gerard gives on the albuk as a completely untrained vocalist who did one musical once in middle school and otherwise never sang professionally unless you count crazy kids song in breakfast monkey. and then you hear the vocals on fucking vampires???? Like gerard doesnt exactly sing like celine dion on bullets but the raw harmony work and ability to PERFORM and really stretch the emotions of a song and do whatever strange or vulnerable thing is needed to sell the track. Theres still few songs more affecting than early sunsets. Like i fully think gerard is probably the strongest vocalist in the emo scene just because of their ability to completely and utterly sell you on the songs emotions (not just anyone can sing im not okay and get away with it) and thats before all the developing technical talents both already present like how gerard can just toss a melody onto a track without thinking about it or the fact gerard did a lot of the base writing for mcr while fucking barely knowing guitar how did that even work girl. Like i havent even mentioned the lyrics??? How do you. Like you can tell both that gerard never learned how to write songs and also that gerard listens to so much music that he can just fake it anywayyheres like 2 songs with actual choruses on the album and neither of them are the self proclaimed pop song h4h which opens with a queen riff?????? ans then is like a hardcore version of a beatles pop song????dont talk to me about drowning lessons. deomolition lovers!?!?! half of these songs are just poems that gerard hammered into songs and theyre so like. genuinely so incredible and they work??like the album works! as a cohesive piece! it coheres!
and thats the first album. Id say my favorite ts album is probably evermore though i might actually have less to say on it just bc i havent had it since 2015. Evermore is just so....ANGSTY!!! it feels like a complete fulfillment of what she was exploring on folklore with the fictional framing devices and keeping the songs clearly personal while also removing herself in a way she never really has before. It feels like a level of introspection through art that taylor has always been both pushing towards and shying away from because too much introspection or strangeness or even pulling away from the diaristic idea too much never worked with where taylor was at with her career. Evermore had a new collaborator, and the massive success of folklore as well as the continued quarantine gave her both an unprescedented level of artistic isolation personal confidence and professional security that allowed her to just go "fuck it" and write fucking. cowboy like me and dorothea and coney island and closure and she GOT AWAY WITH IT!!! like the albums been out for 3 years or something like that and I still feel like i havent fully processed its existence despite listening to it constantly. It truly felt like she was unshacked and was able to write about herself while also completely pulling away from any sort of literal Truth and going crazy with concept and the way she writes feels so unconstrained from the rules she would sometimes set for herself, it felt like a natural evolution from the freedom she felt jumping into the lover era but its past the honeymoon phase and like it is pop music but its also not scared to be...not pop music if that makes sense? She really fully settles into folk as a genre for the first time and it lets her writing flourish. Songs with no choruses songs with barely any structure at all lyrics that stretch at the ends of verses and fun bouncy wordplay and just allowing herself into a characters life and seeing how it fits her. She has some straight up ren faire tracks on here liek willow is just a collection of similies and metaphors she likes smushed together over a lute and its so GOOD. It feels like she was allowed to really live in adulthood as a woman in her early thirties who creates art because she loves it and because it keeps her alive ALSO proof that she needs to keep collaborating w new ppl bc whenever she does you can feel her pushing herself harder and she becomes so willing to try these new kind of weird things that she may have never tried otherwise aughhhh!!!! i didnt even talk about coney island!!!! I love how moody and dour the whole project is it feels like November where fall drags you into a cold unforgiving winter and you're just trying to survive with your sanity and any of your personal relationships intact. its so!!! tbh its SO new england also which makes me biased. ok thats all

Hullo imp
You mentioned a post about how mpreg fics push the pro-life agenda.
Well. I havent seen that post (at least I dont think I have).
But I saw a similar one, stating that in many cases in fics the accidental and unplanned pregnancy (in general, no mention of mpreg) is often written for drama that forces characters together, while the obvious (it those scenarios) solution would be not to keep the pregnancy.
And I do agree with that.
Obvsly I dont think pregnancy and kid fics are problematic. They are not, and I do enjoy them. But I do agree that in same cases "he would not fucking say that keep that baby". Sometimes it can just seem ooc. (But those are fictional scenarios about fictional characters, and also im guilty of being delusional about my favs for the sake of specific scenarios, so obvsly - that is fine.)
However. While I do enjoy pregnancy and kid fics very much I think Ive only read one (1) when the characters decided to abort and that was bc they were still at school. (also: not saying those dont exist! i just havn't stumbled upon that many of them). And I do sometimes enjoy some angst, and exploration of character's complicated feelings, so I think ppl should consider not keeping the baby as a possible solution to accidental pregnancy thrope.
In conclusion - i dont think pregnancy fics are problematic. If anything Im wondering if the topic of abortion isnt too taboo to be featured in fics.
Thank you for coming to my tedtalk
Yes, this analysis of accidental pregnancy fics is totally valid. I'm still confused about that post re: pregnancy fics push a pro-life agenda, but yeah, there are a lot of instances where the pregnancy is definitely being used as a trope to push the characters together when in reality they probably...........shouldn't stay together just for a baby 😂 But, I mean, that's kind of what you're into if you're reading/writing pregnancy fics? Like, I'm HERE for the two characters getting together b/c of the baby. That's the POINT. If I didn't want that to happen, I simply would not seek out pregnancy fics. It IS forced drama and I will inhale it every time.
I want that old man bred, and I want him bred repeatedly!
(Yes pregnancy fics and breeding fics are two different things generally, but who's to say they can't also be the same? ;) )
I actually did stumble across a post-POA fic once where Sirius accidentally knocked Remus up and they decided to abort because they were out doing something for the Order...idk, the details are hazy. But yeah, abortion doesn't come up all that often in fics! I don't know if it's because it's a taboo thing to write about, or if it's because when you're writing/reading pregnancy fics, you're there because you want that babyfic content. Soooooooooo you're not gonna include an abortion.
Anyway, yes, agree with all of this!

3, 10, 29, and 33 for questions I think would be fun to ask <3
Thanks for that!! :D
3. 3 films you could watch for the rest of your life and not get bored of?
Ok, Im not all that great on films, but the only one I can think of are the The LOTR movies. They are 3. do they count? :D
10. would you say you’re an emotional person?
Hah, what a question... I will be honest with you: I am terribly emotional, that's why I am very, very reluctant in terms of being 'emotional' in front other people , other than those Im very close with :)
On the outside, if you ask people who know me, they will say Im a person who is very calm under stress, taking the lead in difficult situations, proposing solutions instead of freaking out, not prone to anger.
On the inside, I'm a total mess :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) but nobody has to know. :) :)
29. what do you do when you’re sad?
Usually, I get creative. I draw, l listen to music, I just go outside and take a walk at the park. I go to my comfort zone, with is either artistic creation or my favourite headcanons :)
33.any hobbies?
Okay, so I guess I'll stick to the ones I've never gave up:
Reading fantasy novels. I've been reading, like, since... a kid. All the time? My parents were teachers, so I was encouraged to pick up literature at a very early age. Sooo I guess I've read a lot of non fiction and fiction over the years, but my strong preference during most of my adult life are fantasy novels. ( and a bit of romantasy, as of late, as I am a sucker for a good written romance). I love Steven Erikson, Anthony Ryan Jany Wurts, Lois McMaster Bujold, C.S. Friedman, well I could go on and on and on. Actually, please someone tag me on a books ask, I can talk books for hours :D
Playing the piano! Its one of the things that I turn to from time to time, and even though I never managed to be a great player, I still play quite often for fun. I love the Russian School ( rachmaninoff, tchaikovsky), I love the modern composers like Nyman and Einaudi , and I really also enjoy adaptations of quite a lot Anime/ JRPGs ( Japanese composers, you are a gift on this world)
Painting/ Drawing :) I guess this is how I would identify first as an artist, although to be fair I always struggled with techniques. I havent drawn anything in a while, because I felt kinda...demotivated with my art :)
I've recently picked up writing. On a whim. Who knows where this would lead. :)

Book review: The Silence of the Girls by Pat barker
Just want to preface there WILL be spoilers so, dont read if you dont want spoilers.
OVERALL RATING: 7/10
Brief description: This is the female pov of the book 'Song of Achillies" - The womens pov. When the Greek queen Helen is kidnapped by Trojans, the greeks go sail in prusuit to fight the Trojans. After besieging the city and capturing the queen of Trojan, Briseis. Who is then condemed to be a bed slave to Achilles, the strongest warrior in Greece, and the man who had eradicated all of the ciry of Troy.
My Personal Thoughts: I havent made a book review in a while. Im not really that busy; its winter holiday for me. But I did have a hard time reading this book. Not because its bad or anything - i actually enjoyed it alot but i havent been that motivated to read.
I recently finished it finally and it was a good ending. I kind of predicted it but at the same time i didnt - yk? Like i didnt expect the ending but i had a sense of direction of how it would end. Honeslty, this book was very captivating. I was super hooked the day i bought it, i finished 200 pages in one sitting, but the book was pretty depressing. Some parts i was very indifferent to, It was pretty hard having to read r*pe scenes without feeling super uncomfartble - did not like how detailed they got sometimes.
I hadnt read the orignal book 'Song of Achillies' and i am now intrested in reading it. I seriously had to pause and question if Achillies and Partocules was gay at times at the start but i didnt want to be like that so i just thought they were weirdly close. After Patrocules died it pretty much solidified it for me. I felt kind of sad that Patrocules's death but again i was indifferent. It was kind of disstressing and awful to read how Achillies acted like, but i didnt feel bad tbh. Its like reading a serial killers love letters to his secert lover. Like cool you loved this person but u are a horrible person so how could i feel sympathy?
I felt bad for the women in this story, esspeically Briseis. I dont blame her or how she acted - i dont even wanna imagine how it must be like or how i wouldve dealt with it. Shes a really strong women and its evident throughout the story and i really like how even though she went through all this traumatic and awful stuff, she still stook through it for the other women in the huts. All the women in that book deserve a hug. I dont think i liked a single man in that whole story, Patrocules was nice but i just had a weird vibe with him. Respect though or talking to Briseis like a normal human being.
Overall, its not much my book even though i was really intrested throughout. I see why this book won Womens prize for fiction, its a complex book that isnt too hard to read and is very intresting to read. 7/10 because it was written really well and scarly captured the view of these women amazingly.
OFF TOPIC: I dont celebrate christmas but happy holidays to anyone. I have gotten some gifts from some online friends and i got the whole twisted series gifted. I dont like booktok books that much - esspeically romance. No hate to them but sometimes their kind of corny. I finished 'Love Theoratically' and i really enjoyed it - Might make a review but idk. I will be making a review on Twisted series. I barely made it through Twisted love - i have no clue how im going to get through the rest. Pray for me, ill make a review when im done all the books.

i cant believe how beautifully this was written?!?!?! you're a literal Angel and honestly a saviour for the fandom at this point (to those who are blessed enough to be reading your work)✨️
because truly while the original version is obviously brilliant, i would rather give YOURS all my brain space because i swear the way you've saved all our favourites (cause duh thats what we all want) while still taking us on the insanest most genius roller coasters of all time (its really not easy to give a character a whole backstory WITH the whole new storyline for them, and not make it seem like an essay- you need an award) is something im sure we're all super grateful for
this is hands down no cap genuinely the BEST fan fiction I've EVER read, i can't even put it all into words how beautifully you've been able to first of all embody what fanfiction IS cause ive never seen a show x reader piece this well thought out and effortful enough to make u feel things all over again AFTER having watched the whole original show?!?!?! YOURE INSANE AND WE LOVE YOU❤️❤️❤️❤️
after the second last chapter i fully thought todays finale would END me i was expecting the worst i dont know why, itd literally be dumB
anyways im going to ignore the part where we've lost eddie again and just focus on the fact that hes alive THANKS TO YOU (are you kidding me we the readers brought him to life how much better could she have made this?)
anyways thank you so much again for even just giving me something to look forward to every day waiting for when u post, this series has kept me company through some of the hardest times this year, through exams and heartbreak, and the stress and emptiness the duffers also caused us 😭😭
ive also been screaming my lungs out about how my favourite writer replied to my ask and ACCEPTED my gay ass request of robin exclusivity???? the skies havent ever looked this beautiful thank you.
thank you for this journey (which aint ending we've got another season) upto here, WE LOVE YOU 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
can't believe i am lucky enough to have readers as AMAZING as you omg im gonna cry-
i promised a return for when st5 is released, and i promise our characters will finally have a proper ending!!! as for now, i have very many special things happening so *stay tuned*
as for eddie... just know its all a plan for the future. its a safe story plan if st5 doesn't bring him back but if we want to, we can just pretend he's safe and sound
aaaaand omg i was so so happy someone wanted a robin x reader just to give me that little push to actually write one ahhhhh
thank you thank you thank you

Often Dystopia (And how its gonna affect my art)
As much as there are some seriously good dystopian fiction. (yes im enamored with sci-fi) personally to me it almost feels tired but i understand the appeal and popularity
But how does this effect my art, and turn TillinGhast Corporate Media
Well first let me explain what TillinGhast Corporate Media is
TGCM was and is me taking what little part of my previous project that never took off and i never made it very far with, Tillinghast
Tillinghast was my outlet for my anger and isolation, and originally began after the death of my grandfather and the falling out of the people i had tried to gather for a band
I had written an ep dealing with my loss and an album that was inspired by election day 2016 and the amount of anger that i felt towards the establishment that i was already growing increasingly tired of
I ended that project after 2-3 years of trying to find vocalists/funds/and start making art
after that died i didnt touch any project and just wrote shitty electronic again, much like everytime i get bored with writing metal, but this time i had much more fun making just beeps and boops with no expectation of vocals and just making basic looping music
So where did TillinGhast Corporate Media come from?
If you notice i did keep the tillinghast name, as i found out when i first started this solo shit, isnt wasnt in use by any active musicians, and i only found one band that hadnt been active in over 8 years
But i wanted something new
something different
So i kinda let my focus on music, the thing i had been doing for over 10 years, go to the side to try and create elsewhere, right at the beginning of 2020
the first thing i thought i would try?
Writing a book
Which as a lot of people on here know, is really really really really really fucking hard to do, especially when you start this shit working a 9 hour overnight shift and writing on days off while everyone else you care about is asleep
And in figuring out what i had wanted to write then, i decided to not go big, but to try and keep me entertained, i needed more than just a few characters
So using a small chunk of info i had written down when i was trying to get into dnd and make my own scifi version of the game, i created a few planets, each with different species and histories and lore and economies
and i made a decision
Each planet would have different stories
to try and keep me entertained
which worked for about a year, and i havent updated since because i have trouble making myself create anything other than music, but i dont wanna get too recent or on a tangent
But why the name TillinGhast Corporate Media?
Well, because it sounds cool as shit. I used to love vaporwave and alternative genres and anything i could find that was "weird"
but also at some point i decided that if i do ever blow up, i want to hire other creatives and actually pay them well, and give them a place to really get out a message for the future
But its just me
So i get to have all the say
at least for now
But why a universe you ask? Why is this so damn long? Get to the point?
well at least for two of those im trying to be verbose and explain myself, and honestly if you read this far i love you and hope that youll stay here on this journey with me
I've always wanted to be part of a group, art creative, touring band, etc.
Ive gotten close only once or twice, but ive always been diy and taught myself shit so i figured i wanted to combine all of my loves into one thing, one giant sandbox where i can be creative in my decisions
And once again, i didnt want it to be just me. So TillinGhast Corporate Media will always be changing and evolving as i learn more about this giant world im having to navigate
I will say there will probably errors or fails, but i want this to be inclusive and open and loving so other people can use this as a means to escape, if even for a little bit, the harsh reality we all face.
Much like i got an escape in music and books as a kid and teenager
So why a universe? because a universe is big and can hold many stories and many perspectives, much like a library can hold many different pieces of knowledge
So to get to the final point, for those of you who actually made it this far based on the title
TillinGhast Corporate Media both as myself and as a future idea or brand
at least for now
Will not ever be a dystopia story
I have not forced myself to change and grow and evolve and continue to sit in my negativity and apathy and just general poopy pants view of the world
To not try with all my might to maybe write something that while not a utopia, is not dystopia and imagines a brighter, better, future where people maybe dont have to worry about as much, because they learned from our awful horrible past and actually refuse to repeat any of it
To try and make this more about characters and stories and music and the things that make myself and others smile, instead of regurgitated dystopias where even basic life is rough
does this mean everything will be all flowers and butterflies and my little pony?
absolutely the fuck not
Truth is often stranger than fiction and anything can happen even in a shiny place, but the point is to not be a negative nancy and have a bunch of shitty stuff going on all the time
One of the planets is a floating colony with what little remains of the human race
One planet is basically in the middle of an uprising of an exiled group
The book im writing (kinda spoilery but idk if ever ill finish this damn thing) literally has an act of terrorism being planned from someone who was radicalized by a really bad group that is basically space religion and its many parallels
All of my short stories are slice of life stuff that happens in a few scenarios where each character reacts to an outside force
But this wont ever be some dragged out for purely entertainment type angsty or edgy or anything like some books do with trauma
i want to look at stuff like we're building to something better, not something worse. optimistic but not utopia or something like that
(honestly this point ive already kinda gotten myself choked up so im gonna wrap it up)
But TillinGhast Corporate Media is basically my idea for a better future
and maybe im wrong and my stuff sucks and i need to change it
i have no idea because no one really follows my shit
so i just do what i want within the dumb boundaries and expectations i place on myself
but it is has been better before and it will get better again, and i am tired of that place being only in my head
so im creating this big huge universe with aliases that i call "artists" so it looks like there is actual musicians in this universe, i at one point started on a medium length animation series, and im trying to use my shitty computer to learn 3d shit
So stick around, at least you'll get some music out of it
and on that note i will mention i do have a few singles and 2 albums out, all of which is on youtube and streaming sites (its on spotify but i fucking hate spotify both as a company and some of the people they sponsor stream on any other site please you'll give more money to your favorite artists)

I am going to share a very controversial opinion on Colleen Hoover and her books and the movie.
So before the entire thing g with her problematic behaviour and everything with her son came out, a lot of people loved her books.
She was very popular on booktok and bookstagram which is why I read a lot of her books. And at that time I was just getting into reading again and was looking for recommendations.
My opinion at that time and to this day is that even though the books address extremely important topics and many of the events and character interaction seem realistic to me they were always superficial. She is a good writer, I thought her books were well written, the story development was good to them, and the characters are always vivid.
But, there was never a real dive into the real issues that the book discusses. They were always treated as light fiction.
The romanticising of the abuse came from the audience. I think some people have not been around some of these issues in real life so they think the book is a great representation of them. And because she was very popular for other books no one really cared at that time. Making the book far more popular than they should be because even though they are well written some of the stories do not deserve the hype.
She is not the author people should to go to for a serious topic. But unfortunately many did that for a while which is why it’s hard to make a case even though she is not serious about the topics she discusses.
What I am trying to say is the audience is the real problem, instead of people being upset about the casting they should have been more upset the movie was being made, they could have cause enough fuss that the movies was boycotted instead. But even people who have voiced their distain in the issue still went to hate watch and posted about it.
The movie/book really showed peoples true colours and who is real and who is fake
Hope that made sense.
i cant really comment on this that much bc i havent read the book or know about the fandom at all, but i get what you're saying and it makes sense.

Following on from the @mosswolf anon, how do YOU find such interesting things to read? :)
oh boy
okay i think for nonfiction/academic works i have the most straightforward answer which is that the starting point is usually a direct recommendation from a professor, or just directly from a syllabus, but then anytime theres a citation i find intriguing, i mark it down and at the end i check to bibliography to find whatever jumps out at me as relevant to my interests!
from here on it gets rambly. for fiction theres a multitude of strategies which boil down to developing trusted sources for finding works i know i'll like, and being willing to take some risks finding stuff outside of that:
(1) listening to friends' and family's gushing recommendations. i try to take into account our differing taste, tho many friends know my taste Very Well from my own gushing and will have very pointed and well selected recommendations. if i develop a particular craving for a type of story i'll ask around for recs
(2) i check out other works by the same authors of books i love to find anything else that looks up my alley. if i've read everything from them, i switch to looking at books that THEY like (thru their social media, or blog, or goodreads, what theyve given cover blurbs for, etc) [this is essentially the same advice as following the bibliography of nonfiction]
(3) i joined some book clubs, i've picked up stuff i never would have otherwise and even if it doesnt click i can still talk about why. this does the same thing to my brain that a literature class might except we're all peers, and you can freely admit you didnt finish the book and still be welcomed to the conversation
(4) just generally i'm willing to try things i havent heard of before if they look intriguing. i give it a fair shake (usually about 50 pages? adjust for the length of the book, or how i feel reading those pages), and then i let myself give up if i'm not feeling it. but giving it a fair shake is crucial! there are too many great and interesting books out there to read something that is boring or annoying me if i dont have a really good reason to stick it out, conversely there are too many good books i've never heard of to never take any risks
libraries are my ally in this, bc i can try a lot of things without committing to them, and i've gotten very experienced at navigating my system's catalogue to deliver books from affiliated libraries to Mine for pick up. libby is also great for ebooks. almost anytime i'm thinking about buying a book at full price, i check if its available thru my library in some way first
(5) when i go into a used bookstore i let the spirit of adventure carry me! i usually try to pick up at least one scifi or fantasy book written by a woman that i have not heard of before, ive had hits and misses but its always worth it to me
i've also recently started to buy self-published work by authors local to me, firstly to support amateur creativity, but also just to see if i like it (still developing my skills here tho...)
(6) if i'm at a bookstore and i'm unsure about wanting a book or not, i'll carry it around with me while i browse. i get a feel for it physically and if i really want to read it, genuinely works wonders on decision making. this can be sorta replicated shopping online by letting things sit in the Cart for a day or two before actually purchasing
FINALLY, after a few years of doing this, i've developed a really strong sense of my own taste(s). i know what to look for in which subgenres, by which authors and so on, which is a godsend in browsing bc i can just let my intuition carry me to victory
best of luck finding something interesting to read, anon!

Okay, Im pretty sure Ive reached the point at which I originally stopped watching so. yay
To celebrate this occasion I thought I should talk a little about some of the complaints Ive seen about the finale in my for you tab because yeah, I just cant resist looking at it so Ive been spoiled pretty severely and also been dealt a good amount of psychic damage. But hey, its about the journey, not the destination and Im already in Advanced Therapy for my mental illnesses anyway
The two most complaints Ive seen are, it wasnt cathartic and it sends a terrible message. Now, I cant comment on the catharsis bc I havent watched it yet and also Im not even sure if that would be a deal breaker for me. Like, anti-climaxes can be very powerful, Schlatts death is one of my favorite moments in the entire dsmp düfor that exact reason. But that all depends on the execution so I'll save my more detailed thoughts for after Ive actually watched it
The complaint that I wanted to talk about in more detail now is the one about it 'sending a terrible message'
I spend a lot of time watching and analyzing kids shows specifically on the basis of "is this a good show for kids?" Like, kids will watch anything you put in front of them bc they dont know any better so I think its important to put something in front of them that encourages creativity, critical thinking and sends messages of compassion good and other things I cant think of off the top of my head. When analyzing kids shows like this its very important to keep that target demographic in mind because what kids like and need is often different from what teens and adults would consider well-written and thats fine. Theres plenty of kids media that can be enjoyed by teens and adults as well, but its perfectly fine for kids media to only cater to kids and even be actively boring for older demographics.
Keeping the fact that kids media should be analyzed differently than more mature media because its written differently, I dont think it controversial of me to say that, unlike kids media, media for teens and adults doesnt need to teach anything. The way I see it, kids media has messages while adult media has themes. Obviously theres a bit more nuance to this, but Im not trying to write an essay here, Im trying to complain about fandom shit
And I know this might be a hard pill to swallow for some people bc this is the internet where 7 year olds and 17 year olds are basically the same because theyre both "minors" with absolutely no nuance, but teenagers arent children and theyre not so impressionable that seeing a character in a minecraft roleplay be sympathetic towards their abuser is gonna suddenly make them forgive their own abusers if they didnt want to do that before or make them blind or to IRL abuser or whatever man, I dont even really know what exactly the concern is. Like, idk how to tell you this but the line between fiction and reality is not that thin and if the media someone consumes affects them that much theyre either very young or there are some underlining issues that storytellers are not obligated to account for.
Not to mention that dsmp is a story told from a bunch of different perspectives by a bunch of unreliable narrators who are all varying levels of shitty. Like, in kids shows the protagonists and the non-anatgonist supporting characters are role models and vehicles to teach messages, that doesnt fucking apply here, theyve literally made jokes about everyone being an unreliable narrator i dont know why anyone would think this is the kind of series where theyre actively trying to impart some kind of lesson, its literally Fucked Up Shit Happens feat, Fucked Up People: The Minecraft Roleplay
To end this weird long rant, Id like to say that I do understand why people would be upset with the ending (from the details I was able to gleam anyway) and as much as I think complaining about the 'bad message' is invalid and frankly kindof weird, being upset is still totally fine and valid.
Also, if you'd like to discuss this with me I'd appreciate it if you didnt spoil me any further. Like yeah, I already know the broad strokes but I'd still like to have a semi-'organic' experience watching this yknow
Anyway, have a nice day
