With nothing to rail against, Astarion is given the space to simply adjust. In canon, he states that he enjoys watching the PC and Halsin kiss, referring to it as a show. Eventually, I believe Halsin would ask /Tav/ about broaching the subject of including Astarion in their bedroom dynamics.

Said bedroom dynamics would begin completely separate. When tav is with Halsin, Astarion makes himself scarce. Same vice versa. This cannot go on forever, nor does Tav want it to. It is Tav, most likely, that shows some distress or discomfort about Halsin and Astarions dynamic, probably wanting to bed share, cuddle puddle, etc.

Halsin is the one to bridge the gap. He uses animal form to do so, removing any sexual undertones from the situation by wild shaping and placing himself respectfully on one side of Tav. It may be many weeks of this, but Astarion, Tav, and Halsin would begin to bed share in this manner.

they manage to defeat the beast using the power of being very slimy and slippery, and on the way back to phrases' can they run into our next slugcat, the juggernaut (she/they), later named mighty compassion by phrases!

He should let it go. He should. Instead: “what do you think?” Blackwall cleared his throat.

“You’re skilled,” was what he apparently settled on. “Have you done this before?” 

“Yes. A few times.” He refrained from asking whether Blackwall had. He knew the other man had no ulterior motive to the question, however perfectly posed it was, but his interest was painfully obvious, as was his unfamiliarity with said interest. More than once Solas had caught the Warden examining him at length. At first he had worried that Blackwall might be suspicious, but over time he had recognized the true source.

It was curious. Before, he never would have thought of pursuing any member of the Inquisition. But now that he recognized Blackwall’s attraction for what it was, he had begun to look at the other man in a different light. It was terribly hard to refrain from flirting with him, from pushing him just enough that he’d blush and stammer, but ultimately Solas had no interest in being cruel.

“How did you come by this?” He asked the Warden, pausing in his carving to face him.

“By…?”

“This—” Solas lifted the carving knife Blackwall had loaned him. “A soldier, a Warden… when did you pick up carving?”

“I had a knife. Easy to find some wood. It just… gave me something to do with my hands.”

That was what intrigued Solas. Their shared experiences. Oh, all members of the Inquisition had seen battle. But only a few of them had lived it. Bull had, of course, but he kept the difficulty of it locked up. He let himself rejoice in it in a way that Solas never could, even though he understood the use of that perspective well enough. 

But he recognized the weight Blackwall carried. There was something achingly familiar about him. 

He returned his attention to the wood.

Several days passed before the Inquisitor took them both out. As they made their way towards the Western Approach, he and Blackwall spoke often. At night, Solas worked on his carving more. Sometimes Blackwall watched. 

When they arrived it was predictably hot. They made good progress scouting the area more thoroughly, although by late afternoon they had to stop and recover for a while. They had stopped near a small river and Sera and Blackwall both decided to wade into it. Solas tried to discourage them but they were already stripping down to their smalls before plunging in. He sighed. 

When they emerged some time later and the sunburn began to set in, he had already prepared a poultice. He gave half to Lavellan, suspecting Sera would be less bothered by her touch than by his, while he tended to Blackwall. hmm havent been rvb posting much..... time to talk about simmons and caboose! cause a while ago i saw a post saying that simmons and caboose are on "opposite ends of the autism spectrum", which is SO true and i wanna talk about the different ways theyre each autistic coded.

bc like. simmons is what people typically think "mild" autism looks like. textbook "aspergers". theres a reason im using terms that arent used by the autistic community, and its because autistic people arent the ones who make these kinds of distinctions. this is autism as seen by neurotypicals: socially awkward, smart in one area of expertise but talks about it a little too much, annoyingly pedantic at times.... you get the idea. and while these are autistic traits that i can relate to, i feel like caboose is a better representation of what it feels like to actually have autism. like, he has an easier time making friends with robots than people, he never understands whats going on except for the time travel in season 17, where hes the ONLY one who understands it. he doesnt understand figurative language, constantly misses obvious social cues or breaks unwritten rules that everyone should know, and has a very hard time lying, deceiving, or keeping information from people.

and i think the reason caboose is more relatable even though simmons is more "textbook" autistic, is because caboose is written as DISABLED. he has a hard time following simple conversations. he cant understand things that should be obvious. everyone around him is constantly frustrated because "why cant he just DO it??" so even if his symptoms dont line up exactly with autism (especially since the way hes written changes over the course of the show), at the end of the day, autism is a disability. so personally, i relate a lot more with him and his struggles than someone like simmons, who is awkward and "weird", but doesnt really seem to struggle with day to day life.

in short: simmons is what masked autism (especially if you have a useful special interest, like computers) looks like from an outside perspective. a little awkward, talks too much, but smart where it counts. generally "useful", and mostly "normal". but caboose is what it feels like to grow up with autism. always confused, everyone treats you like youre different and you cant really do anything about it, cant seem to get along with anyone even though you just want to be friends, and no matter what you do, you screw up everything you touch.

anyway im not saying that simmons isnt autistic, or that hes "less" autistic (bc that isnt a thing lol). simmons just masks a lot better than caboose. thats what an autistic person pretending to be "normal" acts like (its certainly how i act around other people lmao). but because hes not written by an autistic person, they write him like thats all there is to it. which is kind of unfortunate because it feels like theres a whole other side to him that we never really get to see.

now, the fact that the writers set out to write a nerd and wrote an autism stereotype, and set out to write a dumbass and wrote someone who is clearly disabled..... that is a whole separate conversation that im not gonna get into. especially since i dont really know much about rooster teeth, aside from the fact that the fandom seems to have wholly rejected them, and of course what i can see just from watching the show. but i think its clear that its not exactly good representation.

anyway, i still hc them both as autistic, and if/when i write them, i hope my interpretation reflects that while still being true to the characters. it actually works out great for me that theres one autistic person on each team, because whenever im thinking of dialogue and i have an idea thats a little too autistic (like saying something really blunt or picking up on a pattern most people wouldnt notice) i can usually give it to one of them instead of writing it out entirely. which works out really well for caboose especially, because he tends to be quiet during exposition unless hes addressed (bc he cant follow it). so having him make autism commentary can break up all the "blue team problems" nicely. plus having him innocuously call people out when theyre being ambiguous is WAY funnier than "haha caboose doesnt know whats going on" imho

hey..... i must say. this has been the best week of my life. and im filled with utter joy. ive had like a.. rebirth? every once in a while i feel like im born again. the transition is really emotional but they are moreso growing pains than destructive pains. im suddenly surrounded by so many great people and possibilities and i finally feel like life is rewarding me, treating me the way i should be treated. in a way im reluctant to owe it to "faith" and see myself as a passive subject rather than an active agent in this but in a way i think i am powerless in some factors regarding this change. next month its my debut in like a culture (?) newspaper! at least they said they are very interested in my analysis but i havent heard back yet about the second version i sent them. i wrote my favourite poem ive ever written. and ive seen so many movies recently that have served as this transitional border. like as this extremely active sphere of both "death" but also birth. like metaphorically. ive been so vulnerable and i love it. ive cried my eyes out like i havent in such a long time and done like... meta analyses about my underlying beliefs to bring change and new energy into my life. you see.. i get really stuck on like.. nominal labels. at first they describe me but it tends to go unnoticed when it no longer fits or serves me and im only living a certain way just because of this nominal structure. but all these nominal structures are made for us. not that we are made to fit them. ive re-evaluated things now.. also out of nowhere people have been reaching out to me. maybe it truly does show up in my energy when im more open. like that it attracts other open, honest, vulnerable people. ive met so many new people and truly felt seen. this is a big thing for me. for the longest time ive struggled to enjoy time with people because ive struggled to find people who i share some kinds of values. i like diverse people but for example people who are open to explore communication on an emotional and relational level rather than only informational. thats important to me. ive been more confident in sharing my opinions too:) and participating in class and in life. going to places where i know id feel a bit uncomfortable and end up surprised. going to places alone is massive for me. it opens me up to new people and experiences because i simply dont have a choice to close myself off with friends im already close with. a woman came to talk to me after a lecture. she said she had been watching how i take notes in class (i write really fast.. i tend to transcribe literally everything the professor says). she said she has studied palaeography and asked to see my notes to analyse my handwriting :) she said its very unusual for people to still write in cursive if they write with the pen very much pointed upwards, however i manage to do so :D. it really made me want to also just reach out to people... like whenever and for whatever reason. and ive noticed people actually like talking to you when youre authentic and awkward. ive restricted my communication with people SO MUCH only due to the fact that i feel like i might not be insanely flawless in my self-expression. the nature too. the season is such that i see birth and death all around me. and its very refreshing. i like seeing change and being reminded of it constantly. it feels liberating. its a season that many people dislike in my country but im in love. i love people. i love physical touch. i love eye contact. i love emotions. i love ideas. i love agency in breaking boundaries. i love feeling seen and important and useful. i love authenticity and vulnerability.

i like the ethical questions it presents. IS jadzia responsible for crimes curzon committed? she both is and isn't the same person, but who she is can't be split down the middle, so how can you be fair to both halves?

WWWILD that people fight for the honor of being possessed by a worm. i think that sounds horrible. not everyone has to agree with me, of course

i like whatever sisko and dax have going on. they didn't exactly answer any of the questions they set up in this episode bc dax got off on a technicality (didn't do the murder) but i kind of like it better that way. like, you really CAN'T answer where dax ends and jadzia begins, that's the point of it. if i was ranking ds9 characters from most to least favorite (adn trust me i WILL get to that), dax would probably be near be near the bottom, not bc i don't like her but because usually she's very closed off and not interesting, but this was fascinating af. good for her

firstly, q didn't add anything to this episode. like he didn't save picard from danger, or affect change in any way whatsoever. picard coded but lived. that's the exact same thing that would have happened had q not interfered. so what did he even do that for? normally he gives a reason even if it is a bad one but this time it's ???

way too few moments of q wanting desperately to fuck picard while picard wants desperately to be away from him bc he a wretched little man. i bet he watched picard fuck that girl though

something something amy something something injustice. egghog sonic is in the wrong for toying with her feelings, obvi, but i havent really discussed how AMY feels about it when SHE IS THE ONE BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. feminism loses. i feel like such an asshole. ik shes not real but still cmawn get it two gether

like. she extended her goodwill, a warm hand, over and over and over again, and she just keeps getting burned. she's pulled in and out of what she thinks is a will they won't they where she is actually being emotionally abused and thought of as a tool, being the end point of the cycle of abuse that sonic ends up perpetuating while his brothers end up breaking out of it. she deserves more agency as a character, i think. again i feel like kind of an asshole because of how little agency amy really has until, like, the end of the story

i also don't rlly talk about how often she's fucked up eggman's schemes (a lot) and made him start from scratch. and killed gods and such. but the focus of the main story is on the One Plan that actually temporarily explodes the whole universe out of desperation for one teenager's quest to affirm his delusion that his father really loves him. he's not the hero but he's the protagonist in a lot of ways and it feels like amy should be the focus despite egghog sonic's arc being more interesting i think. amy doesn't really have a lot to learn

actually that's wrong. she DOES have an arc. she DOES have a lot to learn. how the power of love can only be effective if one is willing to receive your love. to not self narrativize so much that you lose touch of the pain of the people around you. how excessive optimism can hurt you and the people you are trying to interact with. the theme of fantasy vs. reality is strong with this story in particular i think

like, it's not just sonic; she ignores tails' boundaries and makes some freshly-not-evil traumatized and violent teenagers live with him. the way she's trying to stay cheery just ends up salting the boys' wounds and she needs to figure out how to level with them. i like to imagine that she's used to solving big problems, killing monsters, using hammers to fix things, but this kind of delicate operation is new and uncomfortable for her. i think i take back what i said about her emotional intelligence; it really doesn't start off great. she has to learn about how to navigate both her and others' feelings in a healthy way. she feels very deeply, yes, but the way she handles those feelings needs Work. because of my low empathy high compassion sonic characters agenda i like her wanting to help So Bad but not understanding how the others truly feel thus making things worse before they get better

plus, like. FUCK dude. learning that your crush has been purposefully making you believe he may like you back because he sees your infatuation as nothing more than a tool to get what he wants. some guy you thought was your frenemy was really just an enemy. she put so much faith in him to be worth changing, to be capable of changing. you can't fix him, girl. you never could and you never will.

i guess she also needs to figure out how to better allocate her time and energy towards people who Want to be helped and Can be helped; the problem is that because she takes sonic's place as the Big Hero she already spends a lot of her time, like, saving villages and kissing babies and stuff. she very much helps people who need help. and making it so that the help is impersonal feels like a deep betrayal to her character, something unfair to put on someone as loving and passionate as amy rose, to make her so arrogant would be a failure to respect her. i guess i could lean into her getting Really Invested into helping individual people, but like, she already also solves a lot of the Big Problems except for not killing eggman because it Feels Wrong.

i guess having her be a sonic stand-in and Big Damn Hero™️ while also giving her interesting character flaws WITHOUT taking away her agency is hard. pardon me while i smash my face into a brick wall

26. how do they move? are they clumsy? light on their feet? do they use mobility aids?

sober yuu would be pretty light footed i think. the type of person who accidentally scares people because it's like she just materialized behind them. shes a lil clumsy tho, not super spatially aware so its not uncommon to hear a thud and a groan from the other room cos shes walked into something lol.

blasted yuu... no sense of coordination whatsoever, falling all over herself and anyone/anything in her path. leaves a path of destruction wherever she goes. should be firmly seated the whole time for everyone elses safety 😭

27. if applicable, do they have a favorite sport? do they play any sports or prefer to watch?

not particularly interested in sports but if she had to pick one it would be baseball for both watching and playing! its a low stakes sport you can chill out to for the most part (<- opinion of guy who has never seen the lengths jyushimatsu goes to for baseball)

she won't say no to joining in on people's games regardless of the sport but i think if they know her at all they secretly wouldn't want her on their team bc she'd make them lose.

showing she cares - makes a mental note of things her friends/partner enjoy and brings them up. "this reminds me of u!! ^_^" etc... and through physical touch, she likes hugs and patting ppl on the shoulder or back to reassure them/make her presence known! this is gap moe 2 me bc shes shy about it only if its pda... also she likes making cute bento to share.

when she dislikes someone - she tries So Hard to be polite to everybody but her face always betrays her lol. will be saying and doing nice things while unknowingly giving the Yuuchan Stare... sounds polite but anyone can tell shes struggling to stay composed. nightmare world. she doesnt really interact with people she dislikes if she can help it though, to her it makes more sense to save herself the headache of putting herself in an uncomfortable/tense situation

29. are they associated with any particular element (air, earth, fire, water)?

i havent thought about this one much before but she gives off earthy energy to me? most of the time shes like a voice of reason but in a nice way. at the same time though i could also see her as air bc shes kinda head empty and does what she wants when she wants on impulse lol

yuuchan strikes me as Perfume Enjoyer... nothing crazy heavy, but if u got close enough i think she would smell like something sweet. like strawberries or a mix of soft fruity scent ^_^ all her hair products are 110% strawberry scent.

to start off i think i should mention that i'm just pairing unshattered stratosfear and cyalm rn, cause i havent figured out in what world they'd still be into him after shattering yet (tho we might get there one day if i can get delusional enough).

the relationship (if we can even call it that) possibly started off with cyalm just messing with stratosfear cause he's bored or something, and finding it interesting how he reacts to being touched. which leads to more dubiously consensual touching/cuddling, etc. cyalm is actually really tactile but doesn't indulge himself with the new points cause he has an image to maintain, but that's not really a problem here. stratosfear is probably really freaked out about it in the beginning and eventually (highly reluctantly) starts to accept it, on account of it being at least a tiny bit better than being left alone for decades on end (cyalm left him alone for a century, give or take, while traveling the world and plotting his new narrative)

cyalm is pretty affectionate when he's in a good mood. he'll bring strato small gifts sometimes, often food of some sort, and on (very rare) occasions take him out to see one of the new worlds or rooms of the sky emporium. only when no one else is there, of course. he also likes being the big spoon.

stratosfear is , Very Traumatized (the best kind). he doesn't have all his memories, but does have a deeply ingrained dislike of cyalm, which cyalm is actively working on getting rid of. initially he doesn't really do much when they're together, since cyalm just controls most of what he does, and by the time cyalm lets him act 'freely' he's probably in a state of learned helplessness. thinking too hard about his past makes his head hurt. when he's alone he sleeps a lot, or draws on the walls with the spike of his 'tail'. the drawings fade after a few hours. there's not much else to do in the pocket dimension, it's just a dark void right now.

yeah i like hurting stratosfear. how could you tell

other hcs / ideas i've had: -stratosfear is mute, not by choice or injury, but cyalm just turned off his ability to talk because he likes him better quiet. -cyalm's 'tv transition' teleport flashbangs strato when it's used cause he doesn't handle bright light well, disorienting him for a few seconds. cyalm finds this hilarious and kinda cute.

enstars analyses uhmmm i think we should spend more time talking about what dreams mean to characters ^^ it is In The Name. but i mostly think about how ritsu's issues with emotional dependency and wilfulness, all this stuff where he plays up his emotionality (??) are both result of and like an.. acting out of ... trauma from being u know. a chronically ill kid. with an absent family? and literally like two people who would visit him? and the isolation he would understandably feel; and the dependence he would have on those only points of connection--and he can't control those--i think it's interesting and i love ritsu. it's like, sometimes he acts like he chose to be how he is but a lot of it is out of his hands. hi i hope the rest of ur day goes well :>

Disclaimer post writing an answer, my mind drifted away while writing and i ended up just kinda Pondering and Rambling. Im sorry if it seems a bit scattered and all over the place, that's my mind rn. Ok, let's see what i actually said now.

Sometimes i think about how the war wouldnt have played out the same had rei never left ritsu to try to find doctors and cures for him (which led to breaking the promise of staying with ritsu that ultimately changed everything in their relationship forever). I wonder if rei would have ever even been in the cemetary and met keito had he just stayed to take care of ritsu. I also wonder if keito and rei would ever bond about having someone dear to them be sick. And had rei stayed, ritsu wouldnt have been upset and willing to give eichi advice on how to take him down. Would there had even been a war if Keito hadnt met Rei, or if the student council hadnt figured out how to send rei away. Would rei even be a protagonist if he hadnt left ritsu, if he had just stayed home in obscurity as well (i dont think so, and the story is built on the existence of these extraordinary characters, by the characters who arent, but are willing to make their way into the narrative nevertheless and achieve their dreams) One action's ripple effects etcetc.

Sorry i realise this was got way off topic from your original ask. I think i will continue to be off topic because i cant stop the train of thought ive embarked upon at this tardy post midnight time. I think eichi and ritsu are an underrated duo... they helped each other take steps towards their dreams afterall. During checkmate eichi giving a harsh wakeup call to ritsu in regard to being in his brother's shadow unless he does something himself to prove he's alive (top 10 eichi mean moments where he's also projecting onto the other person his own issues... not that he was wrong, but still). And in black tea, ritsu advising eichi on the war preparations during tea club (a serene setting in what was otherwise a hellish place, a piece of an everyday normal students life, which eichi craved so much his whole life. And ritsu also needed the club, interacting with new people, let alone another chronically ill kid).

Im thinking about your last sentence and how ritsu clung to the vampire persona the family adopted, the way to cope with the hereditary disability. As opposed to rei who changed his persona and struggled with the way he was perceived as a monster, when he was a human just as much as everyone else and tried to ignore his disability even? I dont think ignore is the best word. Downplay. It was always the acknowledgement that ritsu had it worse, despite the fact that rei also had it, he was looking for a cure for ritsu instead. First instance and development of his habit of helping people when they dont necessarily even ask for it. But yes anyway millions of tangents aside, ritsu clinging on to the vampire persona tighter and more consistently in his character, as a coping mechanism with a condition he didnt ask for, that is outside his hands. The one thing that was in his power was choosing to play into the vampire persona.

I havent even touched on mao... to be fair i dont think im the most qualified person to speak on him, or his relationship with ritsu. I am still figuring out my thoughts on them. Im glad they grew to find their own dreams in yumenosaki (heh), in the same realm, but not tied to each other where it gets suffocating.

I wouldnt call anything i said analysis as i wouldve probably ordered things better and had, well, an actual point, but i hope my stream of conciousness was as fun for you to read as it was for me to just think and type
