I just now decided to do this bweirdOCtober challenge, for my newest set of OCs! only the days that're applicable though.

day 2: new OC. for this one I'm just posting the plot summary for all 3 of them.

so first, what the story is: (and I'm just copy pasting this from my notes, so excuse any inconsistent typing patterns.)

It's this weird story that's from an alien culture but it got localized over to English. And the localization kept the grammatical fuckery (which includes all pronouns having distinct separate forms for whether they're referring to a person [indicator 1] or an object [indicator 2], and all possessives having distinct separate forms for whether the subject owns the object or neither/vice-versa) but it converted all the actual names of things/people/places/etc to common English/human-society names for similar stuff.

Like if the Ace Attorney localizations had the thing that Umineko: When They Cry has where it explains what certain Japanese cultural things mean, but they still said it was set in California and replaced ramen with hamburgers.

and now the plot summary itself, under the cut:

So there's this spaceship and it's some sort of secret high tech military type ship, or something. And the human (well, alien) main character is this action hero girl type. She's been given some kinda job there on the ship, but really she's been hired by the like higher ups at the CIA adjacent thing to investigate and take care of some fucky stuff suspected to be going on on the ship. Corruption in its command hierarchy. And she starts investigating like lower level suspicious ppl but they keep showing up mysteriously dead before she can get any info from them. (Also, she seduces another woman-adjacent character to get information, because obligatory love-interest arc.)

So she's trying to solve these mysterious deaths and investigate the what she was sent there to investigate at the same time. And in the process of investigating some fuckery higher up in the ship's command hierarchy, she gets found out. And then things get all action-y as she's officially declared wanted (because she can't tell them who hired her for this as it has to stay secret) so she's hiding in the vents and sneaking around and stuff. And also along with investigating, she's been having to deal with (and hack her way past, and stuff) robots controlled by the ship. Which are now also actively against her… But they don't seem to be quite as dangerous to her as you'd think. And also, starting before this point, there's been parts from the ship's or the robots' point of view as it gathers info on her and helps the crew try to track her down and stuff. Also around this point is when it's revealed that the ship was the one that killed the people she was investigating.

(It's probably third person POV though, readers don't get to see the characters' thoughts except sometimes. It's just like which side of events get seen.)

And then it's evenly her POV and the ship's POV for a while, until she gets captured or something, and from there it's mostly the ship's (and then, after a lil bit more from her, it's Entirely the ship) and this is when the subplot that's been going on becomes the Main plot - and this plot is that the ship has been having some fuckery going on itself, it's more sentient than people think. (Also the ship talks very personlike but uses indicator 2 for itself because it's a machine. It's got Alexa type vibes.) And the ship's robots have been increasingly going rogue… but soon it becomes more apparent that it's actually the ship itself going rogue, but being stealthy about it. Eventually the people aboard figure it out, and start trying to stop the ship by getting into its computers to shut it down or damage its systems.

Things start looking like theyre going to go badly for the ship there, until the human* character (who the narration hasn't mentioned in a hot minute) shows up and shoots some shit and saves the ship. (Also at some point, not sure when, the ship starts using indicator 1 for itself.) Then there's more action scenes, but now with the person and the ship working together. (And also maybe it's implied theres sexual tension between them somehow. The localization tries to make the human* seem like less of a robofucker, but that fails. Badly.)

And then they figure out wheres the corruption is in the command hierarchy and stuff, and take care of it. The human* goes to report it to her superiors, but then they're like "Cool, now turn off the malfunctioning AI so we can collect the ship and get everything covered up" at which point she is like "Fuck You the ship is my friend now." It's implied here that the corruption goes further than she'd realized, even up to her own employers. This is a sequel hook moment, but I don't think I'll write a sequel, so the official ending is that the human* and the ship (and the love interest who was introduced and became plot irrelevant afterward, but here is brought back into plot-relevance by the localization in a failed attempt to make the human* not look like a robofucker) fuck off together and just chill.

YAY OK THIS ONWS GONNA BE . LONG

okay i have 2 explain some stuff first . blue matter is something peter walter 1 discovered , it's very important to the spg universe(s) . it's the thing that powers the robots. it has the capability to open rifts in space and time and it has before .

The thing that starts up the whole story is 2 characters from the becile family (which i havent explained yet) basically kidnapping rabbit to experiment on her blue matter core . 2 other characters (guy hottie(thats his actual name) and peter walter 2) break in to try and stop them, but a blue matter explosion fragments space and time , creating 2 universes . universe prime and universe omega . the explosion also sends a beam of blue matter into space .

universe prime

in universe prime , the blue matter beam hits peter walter the 3rd(refered to as IV from now on)'s space ship . he gets hit directly in the chest , the beam turns him into commander cosmo , granting him superhuman abilities (seen in the song Commander Cosmo) . he saves earth multiple times because hes been basically forced into this superhero role . he gets depressed and decides to trap himself in a star until it kills him . he goes into a rift in space (the achilles rift) and is brought to universe omega . his storyline continues in the universe omega section later dont worry about him for right now

a young peter walter 6 (refered to as VI from now on) starts working on the W.I.N.K project , a satellite built to find habitable planets (seen in Steamjunk) .

22 years later , the robots (the spine , rabbit , hatchworth) find W.I.N.K crashed near walter manor . he tells the robots about the green apple planet he found but lost because the space giant took it . they get VI to turn him into a spaceship and they go back into space to find the planet .

they go into space and find the space giant with the planet . the giant turns out to be a spg fan , they play some songs and he challenges them to a guitar duel , during the duel he just kinda shrinks down . into nothing . they get the planet back , W.I.N.K brings them home but decides to go back and live on the planet .

universe omega

before everything about commander cosmo , in this universe the blue matter beam doesn't hit IV's space ship . it barely misses , the crew starts studying the blue matter , and it leads to a domino effect on earth and humans make insane progress in technology , as seen in the song Progress And Technology (see what i did there. hehe) . the blue matter beam instead hits a russian space probe with human dna on it , creating cosmica/the daughter of space . cosmica finds IV's ship , and accidentally destroys it in her curiousity . she rescues IV from it , he's known as just the astronaut from here . they also fall in love btw theres like 5 love songs in the album abt them

back to commander cosmo . he seals himself in a dying star called the necrostar , accidentally bringing it back to life . just under 100 year timeskip , ravaxis starburner (character that hasnt shown up before hes new . hi rav) blows up the necrostar to free commander cosmo .

the astronaut and cosmica have been destroying moon bases and spaceships together . with help from a space militia , commander cosmo kills the astronaut and gets cosmica to realize Hey you cant let your boything kill people . it ends there but it DOESNT later on a fragment of the necrostar finds the astronaut's corpse and merges with it , creating the necronaut . the album then ends there for real this time . :3

🖇️ — what are your pet names for your f/o’s? what are their pet names for you?

Oh my god, my favorite question. Unless they're in a formal public space, Eclair uses "mon vieux" or just straight up calls him an old man. Never maliciously, always affectionately, almost always to see that briefly unamused expression cross Neuvillette's face. Neuvillette doesn't hate it (mostly the opposite really) but he isn't used to it. It took him a while to understand that Eclair was using it as a term of affectionate teasing; now, he's come to expect it. He still gives her the same look though -

Neuvillette is bad at pet names. He's never used them before - never really had a reason to - and saw them more as some human custom that he couldn't wrap his mind around entirely. He does, however, use "detective" in a multitude of ways - including as a vague term of affection. He likely didn't realize it himself; Eclair’s title was always her title first. There was a shift in its use somewhere along the line of their relationship, but he couldn't tell you when or how. All he knows is that sometimes he sees a noticeable shift in Eclair’s mood and tone when he says it and recognizes it as her being flustered. The only other thing that can get that effect is saying her name directly...ah, but that's too informal and better kept to himself. Even if he finds himself enjoying those reactions a bit too shamelessly.

🌀 — how would the fandom react to your oc/s/i?

Honestly? I think the fandom would like Eclair as an individual character and then absolutely despise Neuvillette and Eclair as a ship. I can't exactly explain why, but I've seen enough shipping wars to know that, even if a ship is canon, the fandom will rip them apart to do whatever they want with the characters.

The hopeful part of my brain though - the part that has Neuvillette and Eclair's story going on 24/7 - feels that the fandom would like them together! I know a lot of people are fans of the stoic and distant one falling for the warm, trouble making one, and that's exactly what this ship is!

Cringe is dead, talk to me about the funny half-life men and their relationship

okay here is my essay. it is titled These Guys Actually Like Each Other, and Gordon Freeman Is Just Kind Of A Dick*

(disclaimer: these are just my 2 cents. dont take me too seriously! im just some guy online who has watched this shit too many times.)

first things first. these guys actually like each other. this is a key aspect of their relationship. benrey, obviously and textually, digs gordon freeman - you dont flirt that heavily with guys you arent into, and so much of what he says and does is geared around making gordon crack up. thats pretty gay.

but the counterpart to this is that gordon freemans pretty fucking gay for benrey, too. you may say, “oh, but word of god says its not requited!” and to you i will say: bull shit. gordon is uniquely obsessed with benrey compared to all the other characters. if gordon didnt like the fucking guy, he wouldnt giggle with him and share in-jokes with him and bring him up every 5 seconds when benreys not around. thats concern, bro. thats worry. thats real shit

but i cant blame people for thinking that gordon freeman genuinely doesnt like benrey. benreys partially responsible for some of the worst things that have happened to him, the Arm Thing among them. and gordons very insistent afterward that he doesnt like benrey. he even goes so far as to try to kill benrey a couple times. to this, i must argue that gordon freeman is just kind of a dick.

lets talk facts here. canon. Lore. from the moment we hop into gordons shoes, we can see that he is a jerk to every npc on his way into black mesa. this is his default: a dude who just runs his mouth and says rude shit. he calls tommy a freak within 5 minutes of meeting him. he infantilizes the guy and barely considers him a real scientist. he doubts that bubby is a real name for like no fuckin reason. in “real life”, this is because its funny, and wayne is trying to make a funny half-life stream. in a textual sense, this is because gordon “hlvrai” freeman is a dick. this is the way he acts, consistently, throughout the series.

(brief aside: this is why the whole “gordon is a nice guy and a great dad” characterization baffles me. the way he actually acts in canon is, in short, bitchy and lacking in self-awareness. and i love that for him, i really do. it makes the moments where he just tries to be a nice guy stand out. but thats the thing: his intermittent moments of decency and kindness are not the whole of his personality! this dude kind of sucks most of the time!)

the way that gordons general asshole attitude extends to benrey is complicated. in fairness, benrey makes it his job to annoy the shit out of gordon as much as possible, and that warrants a negative attitude, but gordons pretty paranoid and ends up blaming benrey for nearly everything that happens to him, regardless of if its warranted. this is a pattern he exhibits both before and after the Arm Thing. its a little bit of a dick move! especially considering that, prior to the whole “betrayal” subplot (which was not exactly planned very far in advance), benrey is no more malicious or annoying than anybody else gordons having to travel with.

(okay, this is kind of a subjective evaluation, but still. my point stands that benrey is not any more of a hindrance to his progress than anybody else in the science crew, and neither is he particularly more violent or murderous. hell, gordon freeman has probably killed more guys than benrey. benrey just tends to get.......special treatment.)

all that said, i am still convinced that gordon really fucking likes benrey. please consider with me the following: it would be remarkably easy for gordon to just ignore him and do what he has to do, but he doesnt. he could stop engaging. he could stop thinking about benrey. he could stop bringing benrey up to the rest of the crew every time benrey leaves to do his own thing for awhile. but he doesnt. and, again, yeah, the extra-textual reason for this is “two guys are doing an improv comedy thing and bouncing off of scorpy is kind of the point”, but within the text it reads to me as gordon not being about to get the dude off his mind.

and this is in addition to all the times we see gordon being genuinely nice and receptive toward benrey! its in the little things: laughing the hardest and longest at benreys jokes. only ever reciprocating that stupid underwater “BBBBB” thing with benrey. trying to catch benrey when he falls, despite his insistence moments earlier that benrey should hop in the wack ass crystal generator and get hypermurdered. fondly remarking that benreys sweet voice sounds beautiful. his sort of flustered responses to most of benreys overt flirting. none of this is the way normal people react to a guy they hate. this is all fuckin gay to me, man.

its this combination of the outward insistence that gordon hates benrey with his inner eagerness to be around him and think about him and engage with him that gives off strong “repression” vibes, to me. for whatever reason - pride, embarrassment, resentment - gordon maintains a front of hating the guy and wanting to kill him for a lot of the series, but it doesnt gel with the way he fucking giggles and plays along half the time that benrey starts fucking with him. its a game, and that game is one of the only ways gordon knows to manifest affection for him.

(remember “oh my god, hes got a knife!”? that was the gayest shit i ever seen in my life. tittering like a schoolgirl while benrey chases him around like “im gonna get you haha”. insanity.)

the cool thing about repression is that you can have it manifest in a lot of ways! and this is where things like “headcanons” and “my own personal affection for repressed bisexual men” come in. a lot of how i characterize their relationship is an extrapolation of a lot of things like gordons canonical insecurity issues/anxiety, gordons whole anti-bootboy thing screaming “internet wokeboy who means well but probably has a lot of repressed baggage” to me, etc.

how do you get massive amounts of sexual repression out of what you see in canon, you might ask? well. if wayne would stop having gordon talking about being jerked off by the suit, or talking about chugging a 40-gal drum of potion and having to hold his piss, or worrying about being eaten by benrey the moment he sees benrey at setscale 10, maybe i would have a higher opinion of gordon “hlvrai” freeman and whatever latent psychosexual issues hes got going on. but here we are

i havent even touched yet upon how benrey feels about gordon. this one is helpfully made a little more plain by the fact that benrey very much wants to suck his dick in canon. (i dont even have to go into details. we all know.) but IMO the best part about this ship isnt just that they dig each other, but how. benrey gets overtly flirtatious in the second half of the series, but IMO his preferred method of flirting is just fucking with gordon: chasing him with knives, shoving him around in a bathroom, trying to get scans of his feet. but all in like a slapstick, giggly, fun-and-games sense, you know? at least when it works.

a lot of the time, though, it doesnt work out that way. he clearly just likes doing it whether or not gordon responds positively. which is, you know, Weird. not very nice. but also in line with the way everybody else treats gordon freeman. gordons kind of the universes chew toy in any given universe, and the same holds true here. hes kind of helpless......subjected to 4 demons attempting to make his life as difficult as possible. in a way its cathartic.

sorry. i got sidetracked. anyway, benrey very much likes to mess with him and unnerve him and demean him and i will be perfectly frank with you: that is hot. i have problems and illnesses and one of them is that i am a masochist who goes crazy for that kind of thing. calling gordon a “dirty lil boy” and telling him to “look at the mess [he] made” is some straight up kink scene shit.

i like to imagine that a lot of this behavior isnt caused just by the guy who played him wanting to be funny and antagonistic, but by benrey as a character not really understanding what constitutes “pushing a joke too far”. hes not human, and whatever he is doesnt have a very normative way of understanding the world around him, full of people who actually get hurt for real and die for real. benrey expresses what seems to be genuine surprise and distress after the Arm Thing, as if he didnt know that his actions would have serious consequences. and it doesnt seem to fully sink in afterward, either.

it reads a lot to me like hes used to video game rules and treating people around him like NPCs. if they get hurt, its no big deal, because its not real. he likes jamming random buttons on gordons interface and seeing what comes out. its probably a lot of fun for him, the same way that seeing a streamer or a youtuber suffer for our amusement is fun. its like, you know, in my opinion, gordons very cute when hes frazzled. hes also cute when hes laughing. pushing gordons buttons has a 50/50 chance of either of these things. and this is how he ultimately flirts with gordon: by pulling his pigtails.

but at the same time, benrey does legit care about gordon and knows some boundaries. benreys the one most often shooting at enemies to protect gordon, and he spent most of the last act trying to convince gordon to turn around and not fight him because they were friends (best friends, to be specific). he just lacks a lot of the emotional intelligence it would take to express the feeling of “he digs gordon and likes seeing his face get all red and sweaty regardless of the cause”. and gordon lacks the emotional intelligence it would take to express the fact that he doesnt know if he likes or hates benrey and hes scared as hell that its the former

because, lets be real. unironic benrey-liking is a sign of problems disorder. just look at all these words ive written about it.

can you imagine? this bizarrely powerful, non-human entity that can shrug off gunfire and grow to the size of a building has decided that youre his new plaything. benreys the bored guy booting up skyrim and fucking around in the console, and gordons the hapless favorite follower that hes taken a liking to. its a really fun dynamic IMO

after all this, its safe to say my title is a little misleading. the asterisk stands for * and So Is Benrey, Actually. they are both kind of awful dudes who thrive off of teasing each other and they deserve each other. and i am crazy about it. thank u for coming to my TED talk

Consider for a moment, an OP SI/OC fic, wherein the main character reincarnates as a fucking Sea King! How wild would that be!!! I would love to read (or maybe write, except I've never written anything longform before...) a good worldbuilding fic surrounding that idea. Anyways, the idea smacked me upside the head today at work during my usual daydreams, and I had to tell someone about it. Feel free to ignore!

so just for personal preference im gonna have them as an oc not a self insert, so before they were like. normal. chillin. regular citizen, never saw a pirate or marine a day in their life. and to make it even better this was before roger. before the one piece. they don’t know anything about anything.

so they die, peacefully in their beds, - and open their eyes, under water, to the face of a sea king. they don’t react - for they haven’t remembered yet, haven’t remembered anything about living in human flesh or having an entire body smaller than ten feet.

They don’t remember till thirty years later they surface to the Oro Jackson, passing overhead, and the will of a conqueror, (Rogers) echoing through the world. And to face a conqueror is to know yourself - to know how small you are.

and This sea king, this person, does not remember their name but they know this body - this monstrous, kingly body, - is so much bigger than they once were.

Theres a world out there, one they were not concerned with before but now are drawn to like a fly to the sweetest honey. 

Oh, they think, and this Sea King has a dream. 

They have no name, no remembrance of self before, because names are human things, fishman names, not for kings of the deep and sky who have no calling sign but their presence -

Its fine, they know, this is their time, but the king comes up anyway and touches his head to their forehead.

Mars closes their eyes, and heads towards the next life.

OK LET ME PREFACE THIS BY SAYING I HAVEN’T BEEN INTO ANIME SINCE 2014 AND I AM JUST RECENTLY GETTING BACK INTO IT!! BUT

- DEATH NOTE (netflix, crunchyroll, funimation, kisscartoon)

it follows a guy named Light Yagami who discovers that a shinigamai(god of death) dropped a notebook into the human realm and that whoever’s name is written in it will die(and you can specify how, if you’d like). it shows how he becomes sort of a vigilante to put criminals in place. he is then under suspect as the killer by L, a smart and elite person who works with the police and has never lost a case. 

seasons: 1 total episodes: 37

RATING: 10/10!!!

the main character, Yuliy Jirov, is the last of his tribe (he is a sirus. so like...sorta like a werewolf) and he is set to revenge his family’s death as a jaeger(hunter. but like. a vampire hunter) but it turns out his brother, Mikhail, is alive and was turned. the main goal of the plot is to find and also somehow protect this thing called Ark Of Sirius , which is sort of like sacred power that was given to Yuliy’s tribe, from falling into vampire hands.

It follows Trevor Belmont, the last son of the Belmont family (a family that basically killed these creatures + vampires); Sypha Belnades, a badass speaker magician; and Adrian ‘Alucard’ Tepes, the son of dracula. their goal is to end the war against the human race. It also shows Dracula’s side of things and follows the two humans that are on his court, Hector and Isaac (they both denounced humanity because of their bad upbringings/experiences)

strawberry shortcake s2 ep1 - horse of a different color

this one was suggested by someone who couldnt keep their mouth shut and not sing the strawberry shortcake intro theme in the middle of our economy class

no one wanted to hear that, but they  went ahead and then i actually followed up on that train of thoughts i remembered about the fucking cartoons and i knew it pronto: its a must-see shit its like slightly above the level of magical school bus series, but the final rating is for the fin not the beginning so lets begin this horseshit:

were reviewing “horse of a different color”, it focuses indeed on strawberrys horse, honey pie pony (its her entire damn name, how sweet right? like all of them, i got diabete from this review but its the cost of maintaining this blog anyway, the kids are playing together on a that tree having fun jumping around like chimpanzees hooba hooba but sadly our filly quickly realizes she cant play king kong with them and keep falling on her ass,

yet since theyre all retarded or young (id say its a fifty-fifty case for them kinda normal ig, i mean they ARE literal 6yo) they try several ways of getting her up on that tree, not thinking how to get her down if they ever were to succeed (good for them: aint happening) its child labor too btw, from an horse still same deal what if honey pie fell down on them? crushing them corpses with her mighty pounds? the findus company would be delighted to hear such news, im sure its some quality (sweet ass) horse meat

once it all fails she understands a horse isnt meant to climb a tree, too big too fat its four legged, not even entertaining the relationship giraffes have with trees

but it aint over, then (after a talk with herself) hp hears the laughters of a bunch of kids which catches her attention, it always does who can ignore that sorta noise? although she aint annoyed by it shes just into the idea of riding a bike now, shes even gonna get a go at it oh yea thats it we finally found her human hobby gogdamn shes a backward furry

of course it fails aswell since she has no hand for the handle and shes heavy so i guess its the reason why she rides into w/e and cant stop? because otherwise she couldve also just.. actually it makes no sense does it? i mean she couldve easily stopped the ride actually how is that kid bike even holding her? ive never tried putting a pony on a bike for 6 y/o but i doubt about its capacity in not being crushed aswell as i doubt in the kids bones not being severely damaged after a visit under honey pies horsy buttcheeks

but all of that really makes her sad: she cant play with her human friends and shes the only horse around strawberry land or whatever see me tearing it for her, theres so much emotions in this episode especially after that filly trynna get kids to get into some horseplay horseshit like dude theyre only 6, lets go easy on them, might have a problem with the parents of the kids watching this episode no one even thought how fucked up this one part is? sure horseplay isnt only sexual or w/e but it still is the visual of 6yos on all four jumping around and neighing together with their ass a little bit too exposed wow im going on a dangerous road here? aint i? not gonna sue the writers im sure it was their subconscious speaking probably got issues from their childhood, eventually got them sorted out since 2004 what do i know? aside from me not caring

back on track : after seeing horsey being so sad the kiddos decide to get her a horse friend but where the fuck? they got no idea, they are proud nonetheless and go tell honey the good new until they are like “wait but we have no idea where to find horses!” ofc we get a big reveal, some serious strawberry shortcake lore: actually all the horses, ALL OF THEM FROM THE ENTIRE FUCKING PLANET are on one (1) single island: ice cream themed to diversify it all they are just chilling over there in ponyland and for some reason this one here got lost or idk guys she took the boat and checked the rest of the world out as an even younger filly, found strawberry and her friends and decided now she was a centaur  slash humanrry furry human, idk you get it but shes their friend and so on to introduce the concept of an AWESOME island full of equestrian activity and ofc ice cream but its kinda lame because who cares? everythings already made out of food, also why isnt the ice cream melting? its one water? nevermind for the introduction as i was saying, hp sings an horrendous sounding song it deteriorated my ear drums they got pierced or something  or maybe im exagerrating? either case horses cant sing:

so to the ice cream land they go, huh

of course it wouldnt be a big adventure without an almost broken bridge oh no whatever shall we do? could we possibly cross it safely? lets try it out  guys: yay it worked good for us little stress and suspense it was wack how they got honey pie out of the hole her big ass hoove made im mesmerized by the power of friendship and sugar at this point, just in full awe for the rest of the episode probably over dosed on all the ice cream flavoured horseshit, i got some all over my mouth its dripping on my desk i gotta clean that later

He’s an android built by hobby-mechanics, Mr. and Mrs. Daugherty. Originally started just for fun, but after having their first son Ainslee, they decided to make him more advanced as a little brother for Ainslee. At 15, he underwent modifications to appear human, purely so he could get tattoos and piercings on his “human” flesh. He, Ainslee, and Bailey (Cad’s wife) collectively own and man a ship called the S.S. Allegory, which they sail over every ocean of every planet, looking for treasure and trouble.

aka lj aka lance the average planet traveler he is very heavily based on kickthepj's tiny planet explorer character i kinda wanted to do my own uhghjj planet exploring sona of sorts.

he lost his leg from the shin down from visiting a planet called triangle planet. he had to get an emergency amputation after getting impaled by a rogue trapezoid. the gifts he brought the triagulate elders were so valuable that they made sure he made a speedy recovery. he spent a few years on triangle planet learning the culture and getting familiar with the triagulate species.

his one possession from earth he still carries is his compass. its a regular compass

his space ship is more of a concept than a ship ive drawn or designed yet but i think he also has a teleporter that he stole from the cave on planet claa (pronounced claw)

claa is a very big planet thats kind of divided and is 75% barren but the rest of the land masses are all caught in a world war of sorts. theres civil disputes and betrayals and whatnot. the main guy everyone is trying to get rid of is kro (pronounced crow but maybe his name is also kade? or caa pronounced caw) and lance encounters it a lot throughout his story but i havent gotten there yet

anyway her father passes away when shes a fully grown adult, and because the lab wants pretty much nothing to do with her anymore, shes free to go (wander) back to her family. the rest of her story is her reconnecting with her family and heritage and yeah.

her dad wasnt awful though, he was kind of just oblivious to what his company was doing to his kid. both him and his wife were pretty much kept away from their daughter (especially the mother, she hasnt seen/been in the same room as her since her birth). when he died it sucked. for everyone.

im also getting a strong aspec lesbian vibe from her. like shes a lesbian thats for sure. but maybe shes ace? or grey ace? or something else? im not hip to the aspec lingo or experiences so yknow. shes something. i also thought it would be epic if she was aromantic. but i think my warped viewing of what aromanticism is is getting in the way. right now i just see her not needing a relationship in pursuit of fame/getting out of #this town is like? a way of her being aro? im not sure. again. i have no idea what thats like.

okay all jokes aside about how much i adore his character?? variks wouldnt betray us. he would not be working with uldren.

first off: he has idle dialogue sometimes that mentions uldren in d1. "arrogant crow dies in little ship... what do i care?" he says it with a tone of disdain. he doesnt like uldren. he thinks he’s arrogant (he is) and he doesn’t care that he’s (as far as variks knows) dead. a line he has (or had, before ttk, i’m not sure, i havent heard it myself) is "Did a Crow send you? Or Petra? That prince Uldren?" which similarly implies a disdain for uldren. 

he also thinks the queen survived. he can say  "she will come back to us when she is ready to come back" which likely is about mara sov, because what other “she” would he refer to? 

if uldren caused the breakout in the prison, variks would be pissed. that’s variks’s life. he’s the warden of the prison, the one in charge. he loves sending guardians in to beat the shit out of all the bastards he’s had shoved in there, and he’s been working with guardians to keep it filled. a prison break is the worst thing that can happen for the warden. he would be target number one for most of the prisoners.

variks is lawful neutral. he likes structure, he likes command, he likes tradition. he does understand the need to break rules, yes, but in the name of justice, as far as he sees it. it’s a different perspective than guardians, because he’s not human. he wouldnt want to be in this lawless wasteland of murderers. especially going back to my previous point: they all would want to kill him for putting them in prison.

variks also knows and is on good terms with cayde-6. he and cayde mention each other in idle dialogue sometimes in d1, and cayde has been filling the prison since the end of the red war. they are probably on pretty good terms, even if “friends” might be too generous. but then again, variks calls us his friend a lot. variks would probably be pretty unhappy to find out that his long-time ally was murdered by the not-dead brother of the queen who he doesnt like anyway.

the scorn aren’t normal fallen. they’re undead. we don’t know how yet, but that’s what we’ve been told. you cannot honestly believe that variks would be okay with fallen zombies. variks wouldn’t work with skolas because of the kell’s cruelty. why would he want to work alongside corpses brought to life through means outside the Light?

he’s loyal. that’s his name. variks, the loyal. his perspectives are quite similar to the reef’s as a whole. "You work for me. And I will help you." "You watch me, I watch you." he’s pretty big on the favor-for-a-favor thing. mutual benefit, personal debt. he appreciates the guardians for bringing skolas to justice, and getting revenge for variks’s humiliating, unconventional, probably excruciating docking. 

variks wants to see the Eliksni returned to glory. i honestly think he might be okay with humans and eliksni working together for the traveler. he’s sad. he’s lonely, and he mourns for his people and what they’ve become. "Listen long enough and you will hear stories of great Eliksni heroes. When the Great Machine was still with us." "One day soon I'll tell you the story of how our world ended. I'll tell you the story of the Great Machine." "Do you think the Great Machine has noticed what we did? Will it speak to me again? Tell me where the great Eliksni have gone?" having an army of zombie fallen kill and destroy shit isn’t very noble. variks would despise it.

variks also, after ttk, took over the Crows, uldren’s spy-robots. he used them to observe the events of the SIVA crisis and helped the guardians defeat taniks perfected.

the ONLY way i can see him working with uldren is if he is doing what he did with the wolves--planning a betrayal. communicating with petra, with the vanguard, waiting for the moment to strike and bring the scorn down from the inside. and even then, it’s much different from his betrayal of the wolves. the scorn were from the prison. variks is a target.

(AU/9 chpts) this one is my very first fic and the one that actually got me inyo skk. the writer has done a great great job bringing you to their wolrd. here we are on modern setting but abilities are still on. Chuuya works at a flower shop and Dazai at the cafe across the street.  their interctions are slow and natural. you cant help but ship them. the other bsd characters are all in and they are treated respectifully and well done as if they are the mains. i really like the story and how it grows to the finale.its well writen and the feelings are overwhelming! this has a spanish translation from the writer.

Intoxicated by setosdarkness:

(AU/21 chpts) a really really great fic! nothing less from setosdarkness! definatly read her other works that are currently on-going. they are awesome and cinematic-like. really welldone and well-written. the plot is a bit tricky but it keeps you on edge. you get into the characters and when you will finish it, you will be suprized. its a mafia!AU and everyone plays. its a well build game. you are gonna love it. there is also smut in it, but its part of the game too. the hole thing is a game that you cant helped it but fell willingly into it and you will be satisfied with it.

Find Something Worth Dying For (And Learn How to Live) by kibasix:

(17 chpts) read the name of the writer.. no thats it. thats my analysis. KIBASIX! we are talking about one of the best writers, in my opinion. I cant even explain how perfect this fic is! this fic here?! I cried my eyes out! i was waiting the next chapter like kids wait Santa. simply immersive. it was an absolutely agonized journey. it was like a dance between the feels and the rightness of their world. its chapter was more majestic than the last and the next was more painful than the last. the writer’s words get imprinted in your heart and mind and you cant help but want to read more, feel more, see more. it has a cinematic feel. it starts from the very beginning and we see skk relationship how it evolved and how it suttered  like you are seeing it live. a sad poem in a form of a fic. the characters are practically singing their emotions out, only to be ignored by their life. and yet the fate laughs at them as she entangle them together. I can talk for hours how they write each of the character like a living being, forgeting none, and how they give each one a right place and the spotlight they deserve! an amazing work that leaves you full and empty in the same time. this one has a smak 4 chpts sequel “

Noir by Adargo:

(20 chpts) another gem. another feel train. noir is the color of skk and this fic is the sorry song of their lives. a corrupted fic that leaves you craving for more. here we read with the shadow of Corruption on our back and the characters live under it.  its one of the character lives under their own corruption and try to get out only to have an odd feeling at the end. it could be more chpts or only this this and the feeling will be the same. we never leave corruption, just learn to live with it in this noir world. although I would love to see more, when you finish it you can only mutter a “wow” and then never live properly again. rips your heart out and fixs it momentaly to rip it again later. you live and breath with the characters and in the end you breath a new air, a better one for me. this epitomy of angst heals you so amazingly. as the characters go a step foward you take one too and from then one your heart has a different weight. a truly and without doubt exceptional work.

A Hearts Desire by Kaokita:

(AU/6 chpts) a beautiful fic. prostitute!Chuuya  opens to us a world that we see journalist!Dazai to bark in and challenge Chuuya in a “bet of felling in love".  a proud chuuya is always  present but here it compinate with a kinda impulsive chuuya, exposed to Dazai's hungry feeling for actual feels. here we are talking about the dark world of the underground were a no less dark but bright light (dazai) comes to shake the everyday life of our protagonist. its well written and well build. doesnt leave you with a complain and brings you to another world. really enjoyable to read. spoiler oda and chuuya having seeeeeex

 Forgettable Significance by Witheryvine:

(32 chpts) after the anime, the feels start.  if you thought that dancing with angst was easy, then you havent read this own. betreyal and love complicate each other and come to you to cry with them. a really interesting work and stunning. it is overwhelming but you want it to be. there are things that are needed to be said, words that have to come to the light and the writer not only do that perfectically but also gives you more to heal yourself  and breath.  it takes a lot to take back someone who meant the world for you and throw you away, yet! the writer  has done such a nice jod giving as the feelings, thoughts and fears that you cant help but be one with it. the style of writing helps the fic to encrave into you and honestly i havent see many write it so good.

You Won’t Lose Me (So Don’t Leave Me Behind) by hybridempress:

(14 chpts) now it will be a terrible mistake to leave this out!from bottom to the top its a must read. an emotional roller coster with the best of fluff. emotions well hidden are suddenly out. too fast changes leave you breathless and the characters have to take fast decisions, act fast and start to live from the zero. a phychological rebirth thats requares a lot of courage to abandon everything so you can chase after an old wild dream in a form of a man, new to you but as old as time to your heart. along with sequel of it  “

You Have a Heartbeat (You’re Real, You’re Here, You’re Human)

” by mostladylikeladythateverladied they create a perfectly must read at all cost fic that gives you the most satisfying feeling of “ah thats how it should be done”. skk are a complicate pair but the writers give them to you bare to see and feel with them to all your might. p.s. that amazing scenes with sskk at the sequel cured my heart!

Sorrow Already Spoiled by Soukokuhell:

(AU/16 chpts) an awesome fic is here once again. this AU is really well written and well build around two people  way too hurt, who find love and healing together. trying to move foward but with the past to hunt them down. love and fear are walking together here. the angst is getting healed by the characters emotions and the lovemaking is great! with each chapter the characters are getting healed and at the finale you get to breath again. the fluff is in the love and devotion they have for one another.

All Aboard by Asmicarus:

(8 chpts)an action fic with a lot of feels. chuuya is suffering again and dazai is an asshole but you can see that there is much more behind them. Dazai’s manipulating nature comes out to play and although it fools everyone, Chuuya manage to sutter it to the ground with a few words. the remark is 10000000% what we all need and what Dazai needs to hear. he pretends to be human but chuuya leave him naked to the bone. from here the story takes another turn to dazai realizing what is happening and what he needs and chuuya finaly decides to take what he deserve.

Silver and Shining by ShesAParadox:

(25 chpts) okay thats a fic that i havent read in a long time, but i remember it still in this day how good impression it left me.  the protagonist is fate and the puppets are skk, but not like any other fic. here there are a little things they can do.as their lives unfold and hardships are presented to them continuously, it becomes apparent that they are both the best and worst thing to have appeared in each other’s lives. the well written text  gives you piece by piece their thoughts and mind, fears and love from the first meeting  are amazingly describe and it leaves you complete. it  happends what it should happen. 

Underwater by meupclose:

(11 chpts) one hell of a fic. here is hopeless chaise with mori as the hunter and dazai as the prey. chuuya is the ‘innocent’ love one of dazai who has been called to play the savior. oda feels rip you apart, every character battles with inner and out demons and dazai is having a crisis. yet! the writer never fails to right a complicated masterpiece where life and death are playing chess. the fluff and smut take the fic to another level as a celebration of life and mori is practically playing death himself. a foolish man who wants to be a god and dazai is the child here who is desperate to live. chuuya steals the spotlight and lead to the end. its an excellent work of a mad song with the most logical story in a world that rules are made to be broken.
