[ID from ALT: Digital fanart of Lin Huai from The NPC Was Once Again Frightened By Me, from the Civilized World arc. Lin Huai is a fair skinned chinese man with straight black hair. He has just put on a purple suit over a black shirt and is adjusting the coat, his bright red eyes glancing at the viewer with complete disinterest. Two spotlights are trained on him, casting his shadow on a dark red background. End ID]
A person will not take off his clothes in public. Even a demon may not like to show his body in front of people, but it is different in a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, because... In that sea, all but him were dead.

Nirvana in Fire rewatch liveblog part 26
Eps. 52-53, or, everything comes home.
I don’t have anything to say about Jingrui and Liyang talking out her choices, particularly, just, Liyang's choice here is the core moral choice of the show, and it is so, so, so beautifully done. When MCS confronted Xie Yu, the thing that ultimately tipped the scales was brave people stepping forward and saying, no more, and it was Jingrui who took that critical first step then; it is Liyang's choice to take the first step forward now, and it is so much harder and more complicated, and I feel every inch of it.
This scene is also all about underlining how very well in concert Jingyan and MCS act, how well they understand each other, and just how much MCS is lying to himself about the impossibility of a future in the imperial court.
Oh, that is MCS balking at telling Jingyan just how close to dying he is, dammit, Lin Shu!
Oh we are committing to the lie REALLY HARD NOW
Grave Lin Chen kills me.
What is MCS thinking, when he and Jingyan are discussing Jingyan’s adopting Tingsheng, that he doesn’t want to say? I thought at first, “that runs the risk of his later dissatisfaction, do it at your peril,” but perhaps it’s more like, “hmm, it would be better if I were the one to adopt him, I wish I could, too bad I’m dying” -- so there’s an interesting what-if for fixit fic
Princess Consort Liu An looks much better without those inexplicable bangs.
Man, this lead-up is so well done, the tension is so palpable.  All the careful ways Consort Jing plays the loving wife on the Emperor's arm, and then her little eye flick when the Emperor says lunch with the ministers will be so boring!
One thing I had missed the first time around was how deeply centered this last confrontation was around the Emperor's willful delusion of a happy family.  We are rarely here as a family, says the Emperor at his birthday breakfast, and Jingyan doesn’t meet his eyes.
The other great thing about rewatch is that all the quick reaction/characterization shots are GOLD and this time I have the space to notice them.  For instance, the way Mu Qing stands up to honor MCS when he comes in! All the scribbly hearts for stubborn, direct Mu Qing
And this is a small thing, but the way the Princess Consort stands up when the family breakfast is over, a bit awkward, like someone still mastering the moves of her new role, that is such a nice touch, this drama thinks of everything
It’s interesting that Nihuang still comes before her brother in precedence! Her military service, I suppose? But later Mu Qing has the status to kneel in supplication, while she has to kowtow, that’s interesting, and says a lot about the contingency of the space Nihuang has carved out for herself
The dropped volume is GENIUS; the staging of Liyang’s entrance is absolute perfection; and MCS is drinking wine, because of course..
Meng’s little eye twitch when the Emperor calls for the guards!
It is of course Cai Quan who comes forth first of the ministers. And HA the way Marquis Yan almost rolls his eyes when Cai Quan says the bit about his majesty being seen as a just and honest ruler.
There’s Prince Huai, making shocked eyes up at Prince Ji
It’s so telling that the Emperor's outraged cry is that the supplicants are all family — how can they treat him like this? The Emperor’s fantasy of family cannot sustain itself anymore.
This whole sequence hits so hard because there are so many different body blows to the Emperor’s authority and the show doesn't hold back from any of them. All the ways the Emperor's role -- father to the family, celestially ordained lord to the Empire -- is suddenly revealed to have been pretense.
Bomb 1 is the guards that don't protect the Emperor.  Bomb 2:
Then who else do you intend to convict, says the Emperor, and Jingyan says: all those who have failed their duties need to be punished. !!!
Just who are you talking about!
—- silent, steady stare
This is so naked. I, the scene way back here where Jingyan first asks his father to overturn a judgment, and all the family-government-character tensions there; this is the echo and culmination of that, and I am slain.
The little uncomfortable move Prince Ji makes when the Emperor asks if Prince Jing intends to rebel!
Bomb 3: the bared fury of MCS, at last free to speak truth with his own heart, after 53 episodes; it is so good.
Move aside, whispers the Emperor, and of course Jingyan instead steps forward, the father knows not the son indeed
Do not think I will not kill you, says the man who has brought two sons to death already: but this is the difference, “I will never be another Prince Qi,” says a son who knows his father all too well. The death of Prince Qi popped any would-be happy imperial family bubble irrevocably, for everyone, and it’s the Emperor’s own fault.  I am not sure how much of that the Emperor actually sees, past his self-delusions; but he drops his sword.
The Emperor walks out, calling them all traitors — and we close on MCS’s resigned face. Injustice may have come to light, but it doesn't change that they are all traitors still in the Emperor’s heart. The Emperor will never truly acknowledge his lifelong debts to his faithful friend and servant General Lin Xie. That’s the true injustice that MCS has really wanted redressed, and knew he’d never get, impassioned outburst or no.
The symbolism of the king uncrowned might be very on the nose but it is Very Effective ok
And bomb 4: You broke it yourself, says Consort Jing — full of feeling, the most emotion she has ever shown the Emperor — just in case we, or the Emperor, didn’t get that from Jingyan earlier, she spells it out in words of three letters, you don’t get your happy family or your harmonious court and it is your own damn fault.
Bomb 5: the way Gao Zhan looks to Consort Jing at the last!
Nothing about the camera angles is an accident. Look at MCS — Lin Shu — , coming toward the emperor out of focus, out of focus, and then, clear before him, politely observing the formalities.
And here at the heart of it all, still, the Emperor does not care about truth or justice at all. Stripped of his crown, cornered, at the end of the day it is still power and respect, and he cannot fathom why anyone could not see the self-evident wisdom in acting as he had.
The I don’t believe you face LS/MCS is making when the Emperor sneers at idealism, that slow eyeblink, that is so good; and even if the Emperor is right, when he says that the empire Lin Xie desired, neither he nor Prince Qi could give him, no one could give him — the point is, you have to try. Ideals are impossible, people are imperfect, governments are imperfect, ruling involves compromises, but: you have to try.  (As Shen Zhui said for us, way back here: If you hold the position, you should do your job. Having the heart to serve the country well and faithfully is better than doing nothing. Is better than giving up.)
My price is, Lin Shu has to die, says the Emperor — wayyyy ahead of you, says MCS — and the way he makes that request seem like a weakness even to the Emperor himself is amazing
he turns his back on the Emperor
he turns his back on the Emperor
he turns his back on the Emperor!
(Sorry, dead. I guess that's Bomb 6.)
I love the score for this drama, and I love that it is dead silent when Gao Zhan finally places the Emperor’s edict to reopen the Chiyan case into Jingyan’s hands.

What I found (Sui Zhou x Tang Fan)
(Inspired by this post.)
(AO3 Ver)
When the case of Li Zi Long came to an end, when everything became peaceful again as it should be, Tang Fan could finally breathe and enjoyed the short, scarce break that he had.
He stood in Sui Zhou's courtyard, let the small, faint drops of rain fell on his hat, his face and his clothes, while his mind reflected on what he got after all.
Since the first day Tang Fan knew Dong'er, and let her stay with him, he never felt lonely. Even though she was young, Dong'er was such a smart and an affectionate child. Her appearance was liked a light in the dark that guided him. He didn’t know how to thank Dong'er for trying to put them back together while they had deep conflicts about the death of Duo Er'la. He was so repentant for abandoning Dong'er at the time, let her deal with a broken-heart Sui Zhou by herself. When all conflicts were solved, he promised to Dong'er, as Sui Zhou was deep asleep next to them, with his left arm and back being patched up, that he will never leave her and Sui Zhou like that anymore.
Since the day Tang Fan brought his older sister, Tang Yu, and her son, He Cheng, back home, he could see how happier she was, and he felt so allayed. His sister had suffered her ex-husband, He Lin and the annoying He family through her whole youth, therefore he was happy that she could be with her son after the divorce. At the time, as he plotted a plan to help his sister get out of that family soon, all he saw was red. He even slapped He Lin twice, one for how hurt his sister was, and one for how jerk he was when he treated his own son badly just because the boy was sick. Tang Fan was so worried for his sister after that, but now, knowing that Pei Huai will never let her down, as he took care of her and her child for the rest of his life, Tang Fan, as a worried younger brother, was finally relieved.
Since the day Tang Fan knew Wang Zhi, he could see how another soft side of the eunuch was discovered and how it developed. Wang Zhi at first was an ambitious young man, wanted to fight wars and gained more status, but Tang Fan saw how his smile changed from solely charming to tender and caring, saw how the eunuch cared for him and Sui Zhou, saw how the frequency of him using torture gradually decrease, he, as a friend, was truly glad for Wang Zhi. In a place where people could do anything to harm each other like a palace, knowing how to empathize with people and when to stop was important, and Wang Zhi, by the time he befriended with Tang Fan and Sui Zhou, learned them by heart. Tang Fan was happy that after all, the eunuch could finally take a break from the chaotic palace.
Tang Fan was so immersed in his thoughts that he didn't notice the appearance of a familiar person, until he felt a cape was put over his shoulder, protected him from the cold. He turned around and saw Sui Zhou, wearing his same black clothes of an Embroidered Uniform Guard, his hands fixed the cape on Tang Fan’s shoulder before putting down.
“Run Qing, it’s cold and rainy here.” His husky voice echoed, a pleasant sound to his mind.
“I know, I just… have some thoughts, and I want to have some space to think about them.”
Sui Zhou nodded, then stood by him, being a silent companion as he usually was. But Tang Fan didn't mind, his appearance was so warm and welcoming, and he was delighted that Sui Zhou stayed by him.
“Guang Chuan.” Tang Fan called, then smiled when he successfully catched Sui Zhou's attention. “Thank you.”
“For what?”
“For staying by my side, for protecting me and keeping me warm.”
Sui Zhou chuckled a little as he looked at Tang Fan’s eyes, closed the gap between them before kissed him on his forehead and said in a calm, loving tone:
“As long as you're happy, I'm happy. Taking care of you was my pleasure, and I won’t mind doing that for the rest of my life.”

BANANA TRAINEES YAYYYY
i’ve always loved this song it’s so cute
wang zhe is so cute though omg he doesn’t smile at all
okay i know zyx is going to get a lot of shit for saying what he said about people who haven’t trained for a long time coming on the show to gain popularity but i have to admit that it’s true
companies probably saw how successful s1 was and how many groups were able to debut after it and are sending so many of their new trainees to gain exposure
i can understand why he’s so frustrated because his generation and generations before that were people who would be trainees for like 4+ years and fighting for years beyond that for their first stage and with this program it’s just made it so much easier for people who haven’t had any training at all to get their first stage and debut afterwards with their company
zhang pd is pissed off oh damn
ngl their performance wasn’t that great i will admit but they have potential it just might not be the right place for them to train whilst on a survival show
and what he said about showing your respect for the stage and telling them why you want to be a star was all fair enough and tbh some of their answers weren’t the best
okay some people are pissed off about what he said about people all wanting to be rappers but having to be singers first
maybe s1 wasn’t the best in terms of the debuting group and vocals and rappers all getting A grade
but at least in s2 it’s changed and he’s addressing the fact that people who want to debut in a boy’s group can’t actually sing to begin with and just want to rap their way through
to be in a boy’s group you really need to want it you need to be passionate about your future and you need to first of all love what you do
okay moving on
THEME SONG
okay it’s growing on me ngl
but ei ei is superior forever for sure
OKAY PREVIEW TIME
wait someone smiled at me let me go back
Tumblr media
OKAY WHO IS THIS I LOVE HIS SMILE
wait LOVE SHOT??? that was unexpected
argh i love this song so fcking much
finish time: 10:21pm
that’s all folks; tune in next week for another episode of mai’s shitposting whilst we suffer through another survival show together!

The Eternal Love (( after rant ))
Tumblr media
Ahhhh it’s been so long since I’ve written a drama review!! I just finished watching The Eternal Love (双世宠妃) and I love it so much. The plot was intriguing and enjoyable and the script and characters were hilarious. Please please do give this show a watch, I think it is really worth it! The opening theme had the two leads crying and being sad so I was like ‘oh no is this gonna be a tragedy or something’ but I was SO WRONG. This show is hilarious!
Spoilers ahead!!
I think this has to be one of the best wuxia dramas I’ve ever seen. The pacing was just right, it was not as draggy as some other shows. And I think the fact that it was a web drama let it have more ‘provocative’ humour? There was definitely a lot more kiss scenes in this drama than the average wuxia. For something that was pretty low budget, I think they did a great job with the show. I felt so satisfied after I completed the show.
The storyline was pretty solid, although there were some inconsistencies at some parts regarding the switching of Qu Xiao Tan and Qu Tan’er. And I loved the humour in the script. The way modern terms were used in the show made it even more funny, especially with Liang Jie’s portrayal of the character. There were so many moments in the show that made me laugh so hard. Another detail that was pretty funny to me was the fact that there are apparently 14 princes but we only ever see three.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There were some parts of the story that made me go “uhhh….” such as when Lian Cheng told Xiao Tan that he would give her what she wanted (the divorce) if she pleased him in bed. As a girl, that made me a little bit uncomfortable. I didn’t like that Lian Cheng used sexual favours as a way to persuade Xiao Tan. Although the end of that scene was kind of hilarious, when Xiao Tan yelled that she was not satisfied by him either and then in the next scene she became Tan’er. I think they downplayed Tan’er’s response too much, because if it were me, knowing that my own body had been violated like that without my permission, I would have been devastated and furious at Xiao Tan. I wish Tan’er and Xiao Tan had more time to spend with each other in their separate bodies.
I think what felt random was the element of magic in the show? Because the last few episodes after Qu Tan’er (SPOILER!!!!) died, were the more boring ones for me. It would have been nicer to see more of the two leads in the modern world and stuff, because the whole thing about the two tribes and them hating each other and stuff felt rushed. But I think it still worked out in the end. It wasn’t terrible, but it raised some confusion while I was watching.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don’t think I know any of the actors in the show prior to watching, other than Xing Zhao Lin who plays Mo Lian Cheng, the 8th Prince. I’ve not watched him in anything else before this, but I knew he was in Princess Agents. So all the actors are actually new and I was surprised by how well they acted. Especially Liang Jie who played two roles, the noisy, tomboyish Qu Xiao Tan and the gentle, demure Qu Tan’er. The way she was able to switch between the two characters was so good.
Wang Rui Chang who played the crown prince and then Mo Yi Feng later on was also really good. He basically played almost three characters, because there was his original character Mo Yi Huai, then later on the ‘evil’ version of himself and finally Mo Yi Feng. He rarely smiled throughout the whole show, but when he does he’s so cute!!
Tumblr media
Xing Zhao Lin was really lovable as Mo Lian Cheng. He did such a great job playing Lian Cheng and he had such good chemistry with Liang Jie, their scenes together were always a joy to watch. Their scenes feel like they could be too cheesy, but I think the two of them made it work so well. They were so cute to watch. I like that his character is very unlike those in other wuxia shows where the guy is so easily swayed by his family when they say that his wife is terrible and stuff. He stood up for Xiao Tan against his family so many times whether or not she was there, it was quite satisfying to see a male lead finally do that.
Also, I can’t believe he’s only one year older than me. I thought he was at least 25.
Tumblr media
Other characters I adored were Jing Xin (Sun Yi Zhu) and the 14th prince (I can’t find the name of the actor). Jing Xin was one of the funniest characters to me and she made the show so much more hilarious. I liked that she was so trusting of Xiao Tan despite knowing that she was not her original mistress. She’s so adorable and the way she was shown trying her best to please the two mistresses she had made me laugh. One of my favourite Jing Xin moments was when she tried to translate Xiao Tan’s letter to Tan’er the first time.
The 14th prince was another character I really liked. The show would sometimes hint at something going on between him and Jing Xin but it was never explored, so that kind of frustrated me a little. It would have been cute to see the two of them back in Dong Yue trying to take care of Lian Cheng and Xiao Tan’s child.
Tumblr media
Even till the end of the show, the show never lost it’s brand of humour. I lost it when Xiao Tan told the demon king to chant ‘I am a bitch’, letting him believe it was a secret mantra that would help him escape his prison.
Tumblr media
I’m so happy that they got a happy ending though! Although it would have been nice if there was an explanation to how Lian Cheng was able to cross over to the modern world as well. It left so many unanswered questions for me though. Such as, what became of Dong Yue afterwards, what about THEIR SON? I’m not sure if there’s going to be a sequel because the narrator at the end kinda hinted at it when he said “How will Lian Cheng survive in the modern world?”. I would actually like to see a sequel of their love story, mainly because they are both SO CUTE together and I have a huge attachment to the characters now :’)
Please, please watch this show I love it so much, it was quite unlike any other wuxia show I have watched. Despite the low budget, occasionally bad audio and cheesy cgi, the story, characters and humour more than made up for it.

EET Chapter 20
Chapter Twenty: Drink in Her Stead When the main guests arrived, Princess Rui He personally led the guests to see the scenery at the estate. In Hua Xi Wan’s view, the estate that had been decorated in a grand manner was not as beautiful as the other furen said, but she still cooperated and gave sighs of surprise. After admiring the exquisiteness of the estate, the game of throwing into the jar that both males and females could participate in started. Hua Xi Wan looked at the long and thin jar, and then at the male and female guests who were rubbing their hands eagerly. She tried to make her expression more excited. “We are old, so we’ll just watch you young people play.” Xu Wang Fei and the older female guests indicated that it would be enough for them to sit at the side and be judges. The other people did not have objections since it was the young people who liked playing this game. Those older did not have good enough vision and could not throw the arrow into the mouth of the jar. Princess Rui He was the mistress and she should let the guest go first, but because she was the only daughter of the Holy One and was favored, naturally no one tried to compete with her to go first. After a few rounds of letting the other go first, Princess Rui He threw the first arrow. The arrow brushed against the mouth of the jar and almost dropped in. 堂弟妹 tang dimei: father’s brother’s (younger) son’s wife “Oh, almost.” Princess Rui He clapped and took an arrow from a servant girl. She turned and swept the crowd with her gaze, then presented the arrow to Hua Xi Wan. “Tang Dimei is a new wife—you should throw the second arrow. However, if you do not get it in, the punishment is a cup of wine.” When she said this, Princess Rui He smiled ambiguously at the male guests who were standing at the side. “If someone doesn’t bear for her to be punished, they can substitute for her and drink three cups.” Hua Xi Wan took the arrow and shook her head with a smile. She said, “This is not good.” Finishing, she walked forward a few steps and threw the arrow crisply at the jar. The arrow hit the jar and then landed at the side 弟媳 dixi: younger brother’s wife “Dixi does not have as good a skill as Imperial Sister.” Hua Xi Wan sighed and then turned to look at Yan Jin Qiu. “My wife is not good at drinking wine. Let me drink the three cups for her.” Yan Jin Qiu walked forward next to Hua Xi Wan. He bowed towards Princess Rui He with a faint smile. “Please, Imperial Sister, have mercy.” Princess Rui He rubbed her palms together and smiled. “I just knew someone would take care of his wife. Come, pour wine for Xian Junwang.” The wine was quickly presented. Three cups the size of a woman’s fist were filled to the brim with wine. Yan Jin Qiu did not prevaricate, reaching out and throwing his head back to drain the first cup. He used his index finger to wipe away the drop at the corner of his mouth. He laughed lowly and said, “Good win.” Finishing, he smiled at Hua Xi Wan and then drained the second cup. When the womenfolk saw this, they laughed and said how much he cared for his wang fei. There were those who felt admiration, but they only thought about it, and on the surface, they only showed warmth. Min Huai Junzhu watched as Yan Jin Qiu unhesitatingly drank three cups of wine for Hua Xi Wan, and couldn’t help but feel a thread of discontent and anger. Other than having some beauty, what part of this woman was a match for Xian Junwang? She clearly knew that if she did not hit the target, Xian Junwang would have to drink on her behalf, yet she had been so uncaring. She really was hateful. After the three cups of wine went down, Yan Jin Qiu’s expression did not change. He gracefully took the arrow that Princess Rui He handed him. Under the eyes of the crowd, he easily threw the arrow into the jar. “Great.” Princess Rui He smiled and said, “I just knew that this little game wouldn’t be a difficulty for you.” “Just good luck. Imperial Sister is too complimentary.” Yan Jin Qiu took the cup of tea that a servant brought over and rinsed his mouth of the taste of alcohol. Hua Xi Wan handed her handkerchief to him. He took it with a smile and wiped his mouth before putting the handkerchief into his sleeve. “Next time, I’ll teach you when you throw. It is all right if you cannot throw it in; my alcohol tolerance is pretty good.” “Won’t fall after a thousand cups?” Hua Xi Wan was going to start joking with Yan Jin Qiu when she heard the servant report that Lin Ping Junzhu and her junma had arrived. Hua Xi Wan raised an eyebrow and looked at Yan Jin Qiu whose expression had not changed one bit. She curled her lips and thought, this Lin Ping Junzhu had come as expected. She had been right. Just moments later, she saw several servant girls usher a male and female over. The well-dressed female seemed just into her twenties, and there wasn’t much about her appearance that was similar to Yan Jin Qiu. She could only be said to be clean and delicate. However, the youth beside her had red lips, white teeth, an elegant presence. He had a good, fleshy body. After Lin Ping Junzhu arrived, she apologized to Princess Rui He. She said that she had encountered some matters on the road, so they had come late. Princess Rui He smiled and passed this matter. Then she pointed at Hua Xi Wan and said, “You have just been talking to me. Look who that is?” Lin Ping Junzhu followed her finger and turned to look at Hua Xi Wan. After some examination, she said neutrally, “This must be my dimei Hua shi. A good appearance.” It probably was that her words were too incorrect, that all the womenfolk present detected something was not right. In this moment, no one spoke. Several people looked in sympathy at Hua Xi Wan. 姐夫 jiefu: elder sister’s husband “Jiejie, Jiefu, greetings.” Hua Xi Wan went forward and curtsied, and then looked smilingly at the junma, Luo Zhong Zheng. “Jiefu also has a good appearance.” When the words came out, some womenfolk used their hand and handkerchiefs to cover their mouth and the smile that was revealed. Four years ago, because Lin Ping Junzhu was attracted to this Scholar Luo’s appearance, she had made a ruckus to get married to him. Now she was being so impolite to this dimei that she had never seen before when she had just returned to Jing—no wonder the junwang feiwas not giving her face. 弟弟 didi: younger brother “Didi really has a good wife. Her conduct and education are rare to see.” Lin Ping Junzhu had not expected Hua Xi Wan to speak to her so. Her expression was slightly ugly. As to Luo Zhong Zhen who had been praised by Hua Xi Wan to have good looks while she was actually implying that he was a boy toy living based on his appearance, there was no anger on his face. “Xi Wan has always had this personality. Even Imperial Grandmother, the Emperor and Empress praised her and are worried that I will bully her,” Yan Jin Qiu said neutrally. “If Xi Wan was not rare, why would the Emperor decree her in marriage to me.” When Lin Ping Junzhu, heard this, her expression became uglier. Luo Zhong Zheng beside her spoke first. “It is a cause for celebration for Didi to marry such a beauty.” Hearing Luo Zhong Zheng speak, Lin Ping Junzhu’s expression was ugly, but she did not speak again. After glancing at Yan Jin Qiu and Hua Xi Wan, she sat down at the side with a dark face. The womenfolk present saw this, and while they did not show it, they did not understand. Xian Junwang Fu was Lin Ping Junzhu’s paternal family. Her parents had passed, and there was only her younger brother left to be of aid to her. Why would she make this relationship so strained? Wasn’t this pushing her didi further away from her? Regardless of what Lin Ping Junzhu intended with her actions, based on Xian Junwang’s attitude towards Xian Junwang Fei and how Xian Junwang Fei appeared when she faced Lin Ping Junzhu, some of the womenfolk already decided to stay away from Lin Ping Junzhu. One was a junzhu who had a distant relationship with her paternal family, and her husband’s family was not high in status. The other was a junwang fei who was loved by her paternal family and had married into a noble family. Those who had eyes knew which one they could not afford to offend. 表姐 biao jie: mother’s sibling’s (older) daughter (here); or father’s sister’s (older) daughter “It is perfect for Biao Jie to come now. Right now, we are playing tossing the arrow into the jar. You should come play as well.” Min Huai Junzhu saw the atmosphere was frigid and took out an arrow to present to Lin Ping Junzhu. Pulling the other’s hand, she smiled and explained the rules of the game. “In the past, Biao Jie would score nine times out of ten. Even now, I do not forget how valiant you were then.” “That was a few years ago.” Lin Ping Junzhu took her hand out of Min Huai Junzhu’s hand and walked to the line. Her throw did not go in. She said with a faint smile, “I haven’t played this for the last two years. My skill has rusted.” When Hua Xi Wan heard this, her eyebrows shifted. When prestigious families invited guests to banquets, they would frequently play elegant games like this one. Lin Ping Junzhu had married and moved to Jiang City four years ago. How could it be that she didn’t even know anymore how to play games like this that were common to prestigious families? When the wine was presented, Lin Ping Junzhu did not try to avoid it. She used her sleeve to cover her mouth and drank. Wiping her lips, she said, “You all can play this. My skill is not fit to be seen.” The people smiled and said a few things when they saw this. After a round, it was Hua Xi Wan’s turn again. Even though she was not good at throwing, she had support. Under Yan Jin Qiu’s guidance, the second arrow still landed outside the jar. She said with a helpless expression, “It seems that I have no hopes of becoming an expert in this life.” When she said this, she caused the womenfolk to laugh. Yan Jin Qiu also laughed and shook his head. He said, “I’m getting closer to a thousand cups.” Finishing, without needing any urging, he drank down three cups. Lin Ping Junzhu looked at the three empty wine cups on the tray and instantly felt that the wine she had just drunk was uncomfortably burning. Even her tongue felt bitter. After a busy while, everyone went to the front to eat. After they were full, it was time to admire plays and sons. When they were halfway through, a taijian from the palace came with a message from the Empress summoning Princess Rui He and Lin Ping Junzhu into the palace. Since the mistress was going to leave, there was no reason for the guests to stay and play. Everyone got on their carriages and left the princess’ estate. ## Hua Xi Wan sat on the carriage and looked at the busy streets rather than Yan Jin Qiu’s expression. “Jin Qiu, does Elder Sister have some misunderstanding about me?” Yan Jin Qiu gripped her hand. “Do not think too much.” Hua Xi Wan turned her head to look at him. She smiled and did not speak. “You are the mistress of Xian Junwang Fu. It is not important if other people misunderstand, as long as I do not misunderstand you.” He reached out and caressed her hairpin. “I only believe what I am willing to believe. How other people are is not connected to me.” These words meant that he would not keep the words of other people on his mind, he would not accept the influence of other people and was willing to protect her? Hua Xi Wan still had a smile. She knew that Yan Jin Qiu was not as simple as he appeared on the surface, and Yan Jin Qiu was almost deliberately letting her find this. Yan Jin Qiu was hoping that she could stand on the same battle line as him? But she was too lazy. A person who wasn’t even willing to stand, how could she step onto the battlefield? When the carriage just arrived at the gates of the junwang fu, Hua Xi Wan got off and saw the carriage from Second Uncle Hua was by the gate. She paused in her steps and glanced at Yan Jin Qiu before walking shoulder-to-shoulder with him through the gates of Xian Junwang Fu. Previous          Main menu          Next Click to Post

As if Xiao Liu doesn’t have enough hatred for the nobility after the hunt, this episode sees her falling farther into a quagmire of hatred as these men threaten the family she’s refound. On the upside, this episode sees a tiny interaction between Yuwen Yue [Lin Geng Xin] and Xiao Liu [Zhao Li Ying]. Oh, and did you know the actor who plays Yue Qi [Xin Shao Lin] is the male lead in the drama The Eternal Love?
Zhi Xiang and Xiao Ba [Zhu Sheng Wei] are taking care of the ill Xiao Liu while she dreams of the incident that happened before she was taken to the hunting grounds. A man is in pursuit of her carriage which is wrecked. With her skills, she and he could easily rule the world. If Chu Qiao should turn him down, he will be forced to kill her. The man is Yuwen Hao [Wang Dong]. I don’t know which branch of the Yuwen family he is from (Yue’s or Huai’s). He greatly underestimates his own prowress and Chu Qiao kills him before falling from the cliff (truthfully, it looks more like she threw herself off). She falls into the cold water and wakes up shivering greeted by her two sisters.
They wrap Xiao Liu’s hands around a medicinal burner when Song comes in. She says the two girls stole the burner from Steward Zhu. Xiao Ba is quick to refute this, earning Song’s wrath. She takes out her whip to beat Xiao Ba and Zhi Xiang quickly steps between the two to protect her seventh sister. Xiao Liu has had enough. She takes the bracelet off her wrist and it transforms into a sling shot. She uses it to shoot a pebble at Song’s leg. The woman quickly leaves after that and Xiao Liu sinks back to the ground. Zhi Xiang warns Xiao Liu not to do a thing like that again. A lot of people in the Yuwen household know gongfu and thus Xiao Liu cannot trick them all. The two sisters beg their sixth sister to not be a rebel anymore. The lives of slaves are cheap and they are easily killed over the smallest matters.
The worthless nobles have gathered to play pitch pot (they use their hands to throw arrows into urns). Yuan Song misses, earning him laughter and he says there is no need to laugh as it would be something new if he actually made it. He goes to mention it would be more amazing if Yuwen Huai misses when the other man nonchalantly throws the arrow from the far back table and makes it. Yuwen Huai then insinuates he is nothing compared to the skills of the prince of Yanbei. Yan Xun is not stupid. He laughs and picks up an arrow and twirling it in his hand. Like Yuwen Huai, he pitches the arrow from the back table only to narrowly miss. While Yan Xun may have fooled the others, Yuwen Huai knows it is but a pretense and mutters under his breath.
Enter Chun’er. The princess successfully tosses the arrow into the pot herself. She berates both Yuwen Huai and her brother. One thing you see often in this series is how she and Yuan Song bicker. She always treats Yan Xun better than her blood brother and puts Yan Xun first. Later in the series when Yuan Song does the same thing for Xiao Liu/Chu Qiao she doesn’t like it at all. Double standards. Of course, a lot happens between the two women and two men, so there are reasons. Chun’er has brought the wine which is the only urn brewed personally by Yan Xun’s father. She will save it for Yan Xun’s birthday party which she will host. Yan Xun is quick to say that Yuwen Yue will be hosting his party this year. This vexes Chun’er. What fun party can that ice man create? Yan Xun doesn’t know, that is what makes it interesting. I won’t go into too much detail. Chun’er is straightforward and very harsh towards her brother and his friends. She particularly loves to belittle Yuwen Huai for his low birth (remember he is the son of a mere lower born concubine).
The servants are busy preparing Yuwen Yue’s manor for the party when Madam Song bursts in and instructs that it is time Xiao Liu starts working. Zhi Xiang pleads for more recovery time for her little sister, but is denied. Xiao Liu is then sent outside to work. Enter Steward Zhu. As he is acting a bit lecherously toward her eldest sister, Xiao Liu steps inside and asks for Zhi Xiang’s help. Later, Xiao Liu is working on a weapon to take care of the man in case he touches Zhi Xiang again. Her eldest sister forbids such actions. They are together now and one wrong move from Xiao Liu can upset the scales even more. Zhi Xiang reveals that Lin Xi is doing his best to ensure their comfort and safety.
Time for our icy young master to make an appearance! Yuwen Yue is in his room when a secret message comes in. He takes it and brings it to his grandfather. It is news of Yuwen Huai’s doings. Looks like this cousin will not stop until the third branch of the Yuwen family is dead. Yuwen Huai’s family has more of the emperor’s trust right now since Yuwen Yue has an illness and his grandfather is paralyzed. Even though the third branch controls the “Eyes of God” it is worthless without the emperor’s trust. It is Yuwen Yue’s duty to revive this and restore the family’s honor.
Yan Xun’s party is underway and Xiao Liu is tasked with acting as Princess Chun’s private stepping stool. Oh, the ways they come up with to demean their slaves. Everything is going well until Xiao Liu overhears Yuwen Huai talking about poisoning someone. Who will he poison? Zhi Xiang comes in to serve wine as the host of the party makes his late entrance. At this time, Zhu stops Zhi Xiang and tells her to serve Yuwen Yue well since he seldom does social functions. Watching, Xiao Liu sees Steward Zhu slip poison into the wine her elder sister carries. Not good. Yuwen Yue is instructed to drink as punishment for his late arrival. He lifts the cup Zhi Xiang pours, but knows there is something amiss. He refuses since he is ill.
Yuwen Huai proposes a game—if Yuwen Yue does not drink they will kill the beauty that serves him wine. Xiao Liu has had enough. How dare these prettily dressed nobles make a game of her sister’s life? Xiao Liu uses her slingshot to spill the wine. Yuwen Yue mentally scolds her for the unnecessary action. Xiao Liu then asks them to not make a game of her sister’s life. Yan Xun worries over this “wild kitten.” Yuwen Huai says according to Yuwen rules, Xiao Liu’s life is forfeit. Yan Xun interrupts. It is his birthday. Let there not be bloodshed. Time for a new game. His jade has a front and back. He will toss the jade in the air and Xiao Liu must guess which side lands face up. He rubs his fingers on the jade and Xiao Liu uses that as a signal to tell which is which. The jade is tossed and she shocks everyone by guessing correctly. Yuwen Huai is miffed. Fine. She won’t die, but she will be punished. Her punishment? Being hung upside down from a tree.
Lin Xi pleads for his sister and Yuwen Yue and Yue Qi release her. Yuwen Yue scolds her for rushing into things without leaving a way out for herself. He walks away and is greeted by an angry Zhu. Of course, Steward Zhu cannot do anything since Yuwen Yue was the one to free the slave. Yue’er tells Zhu to relay to Yuwen Huai that if he has a problem then come seek him out. Lin Xi then piggybacks his sister out of there.
Madam Song comes in to the woodshed. Yuwen Huai wants this interfering girl dead. They will send her to Ji Le Pavilion (the equivalent of a death sentence as over 20 maids have been killed there). When Song leaves, Zhi Xiang panics. They can’t let sixth sister go there to die. What can they do? Lin Xi promises to come up with something to spare Xiao Liu.
Tumblr media
A maid from the Yuwen Yue household meets with Steward Zhu. She is a spy planted by Yuwen Huai. She tells them that Yue’er has received word on Yuwen Huai’s dealings. Zhu hands over a box of number sticks. Since they are having problems killing Yuwen Yue,they will focus on his grandfather. He hands the maid a special pair of gloves made from human skin and warns her that the box is poisonous. He then says to use the Jing family as they are worried about their sixth sister.
Jin Zhu [Cao Xi Yue] seeks out Lin Xi and asks after his problems. He doesn’t want to tell her and bring her into the matter. However, Jin Zhu persists and then says she may have a way to help him and his sisters. Lin Xi visits Xiao Liu. She dreams of Chu Qiao again. She asks her brother of her origins. He only knows that she was brought to their house by their father who said she was the child of a mistress. Lin Xi tells her that her dreams are meaningless. She does tell him of the poisoning plot. He wonders how she knows about such things (she knew the poison would not hurt a normal person, just those easily afflicted by the cold like Yuwen Yue), but Xiao Liu doesn’t know.
To help him win favor, Jin Zhu gives him the poisoned box. Old master loves playing with number sticks. This is a special set. If this goes well, Lin Xi will save his sister and Jin Zhu will become Yuwen Yue’s lover. She even hands over the special pass that allows a servant outside so Xiao Liu can escape. Of course Xiao Liu doesn’t want to leave, but is coaxed by her sisters. Xiao Liu understands that her presence can cause harm to her family. She hands over her slingshot to Zhi Zhiang for protection.
Tumblr media
On her way out, Xiao Liu learns her brother was setup and rushes back to the manor, but it is too late. Lin Xi was called in and when the old man opened the box, a deadly spider bit him. Yuwen Yue gets there and even Lin Xi has been bitten. Yuwen Yue kills Lin Xi before Xiao Liu’s eyes. Yep. The girl has good reason to hate him and Yuwen Huai.
Princess Agents Episode 2 Recap As if Xiao Liu doesn’t have enough hatred for the nobility after the hunt, this episode sees her falling farther into a quagmire of hatred as these men threaten the family she’s refound.

"Why?" the girl in the yellow skirt couldn't help saying. Chu Tianshu smiled. "Of course it's because he wouldn't beg me for mercy," he said. Several people looked at him with strange eyes. Chu Tianshu thought for a while and said, "Do you know kismesis?" "What?" The fitness man couldn't help asking. "That's how I feel about that guy. Only negative feelings, no positive love whatsoever. I hate his arrogance, hate his unbridled character, and hate seeing his disgusting face. But I have to say , he does have a good face. While I hate him, I also want to break these expressions of his, let him put down his arrogance and cry and beg me... It is undeniable that I do have the desire to ruin him, But it's not out of love. But anyway, he's a guy who takes everything for both men and women." Chu Tianshu said, "This is the relationship between me and him, and the reason why I came to him." Saying that, he squinted his eyes and glanced at Lin Huai. Lin Huai: … Thank you, I think you are so perverted. He replied to Chu Tianshu's nonsense with his eyes. For a while, everyone didn't know how to reply to Chu Tianshu's words. But obviously, they were all shocked by Chu Tianshu's perverted remarks, and no one dared to question this twisted relationship. But obviously, they don't think ghosts can say such words that penetrate the bottom line. The suspicious eyes cast on Chu Tianshu were reduced, replaced by perverted eyes. Chu Tianshu fully accepted this.
chu tianshu and lin huai have a set character in this copy and have to conform to logic
i find it funny when they're able to casually make up nonsense to get the point across

In short, in the effort of pressing a finger, his household registration has been transferred from the sixteenth city to... Eighth city. "The Eighth City???" Lin Huai made a blank voice, "Isn't the Eighth City just a library??"
Chu Tianshu: "Yes, I am the only recognized resident of the Eighth City." "Are you the administrator there..." "It's not the administrator, the administrator is an NPC, and I am the only certified scientist. And the only resident certified as eligible to live in the Eighth City." "I don't really want to know how many science, nature, and sci-level conferences you have participated in here..." "In short, you will be very safe there, and usually no players will go there." Chu Tianshu said. "Why?" Chu Tianshu glanced at him inexplicably and replied: "Because no one loves learning in an infinite flow game." Lin Huai: … Involuntarily, Lin Huai stretched out his thumb and gave him a "ok".
i forgot chu tianshu was the only one in the library fhdjek

Lin Huai described the matter completely. He was precise to every detail to avoid omissions that would affect Chu Tianshu's reasoning. After Chu Tianshu thought for a moment, "I should have been almost beaten by a ghost..." "There's something wrong with this place." Lin Huai said in a low voice, "We have to find the painting quickly and get out of here—" "Why are you in such a hurry all of a sudden?" Chu Tianshu patted his head, "Don't be afraid, I'm here." He put his hand on Lin Huai's head, Lin Huai was silent for a while, and said, "It's because of you that I..." Chu Tianshu: … "If only I was here, I wouldn't be afraid." Lin Huai emphasized, "If only I were here, any female ghost would dare to come at me, I would strangle her to death and grind her bones into ashes and throw them into the well." Chu Tianshu: … "Did you hear what I said?" Lin Huai was a little dissatisfied, "I said let's hurry up and find the painting..." "I heard." Chu Tianshu grabbed his shoulder, "I just... I really want to kiss you and hug you." Lin Huai: … Chu Tianshu: "Do something too much to you again." "Do business!" Lin Huai was annoyed, "Don't you know that you..." "I'm not that vulnerable." Chu Tianshu said with relief, "Let's go to the painting in the afternoon, it's fine, don't worry, be a good boy."
lin huaiiiiiiiiiiii i love these two. idiots
