(no eluvian or clan for her 😭😭😭) so maybe my next hawke will be more adventurous :))

my da2 squad was anders (🥰🤡), isabela, and fenris!!! i have too many emotions about anders 🧍🏻‍♀️ #normal lol! but bonding w isabela over the course of the game was genuinely so nice and fun, and earning fenris's friendship felt like a huge accomplishment haha :') (esp since i was caving to anders's every whim LMAO) but i loved varric!!!!!!! number one hypeman and best storyteller in thedas 🥰 if i could romance him, i would seriously consider it hahaha

Although Pat and Pran look hesitant about each other in the music room, Pran still (initially) trusts Pat enough to hand over his student ID, no questions asked. It's only when Pran sees what Pat is about to do that he stops him. And even though Pat laughs at Pran's picture, Pat also laughs at his own as a kind of 'equalizer' or acknowledgement that they're both just as embarrassing...but of course his confidence leads him to then say he looks handsome in his photo 😄

I wonder if having the guitar case in the lower right hand side of the frame with the peace sign visible was a deliberate choice to symbolise how the connection between Pat and Pran was actually amicable...

And, god, for all of Pran's protestrations about how gross Pat is (speaking with his mouth full, slurping from the bowl), he doesn't bat an eyelid when Pat puts the stolen wanton in his mouth and then spits it out. The draw of competition (which itself isn't really about competing...rather just interacting, having a connection) is too great and he joins in seemingly completely unaffected by the increased level of grossness.

I love the race up the stairs. It's the first time we really see Pran lose his composure, actually give as much as he gets from Pat, and show just how animated he can get. This is the effect Pat has on him. And it's so freeing.

I also love the little production error that has 'home' under 'just a friend' on Pran's phone when Pat calls him. But also, yes, Pat is Pran's 'home'. Incidentally, when Pat tries calling Pran and we see the phone screen again later in the ep, not only is the 'home' missing but the screen isn't cracked as it is here.

However, the minute Pat says they should use lower-grade materials Pran doesn't for one second think he might be serious. Pran immediately berates Pat for joking around because he knows it's a joke and that Pat wouldn't cheat like this and it just shows how close they really are despite how they act towards each other and appear to others.

Bad Buddy 🤝🏽 The Eclipse - Both having a self-prophesising lie. (Pran's fabrication to prevent the two groups from fighting ended up coming true when they came together to re-build the bus stop.)

More linguistics... It's interesting that the few times up to now that Pran has thanked Pat (for paying for the noodle meal, for giving Pran the info about the design contest) he's used the more casual 'thanks' (ขอบใจ | khawp jai). But in the corridor, after nervously pacing outside Pat's door, Pran uses the more polite 'thank you' (ขอบคุณ | khawp khun). Then, after being gifted the guitar back, Pran goes back to the casual 'thanks' but adds on the softening 'na' particle and 'wai' (sounds like 'way' and which I'm not sure what this is) afterwards. Something something the development of gradually accepting Pat's presence in his life and letting Pat in shown through language choices...

Oh oh another parallel. At the end of ep 2, Pat and Pran bicker over still owing each other, or who actually owes who. But here, at the end of ep 3, Pat asks sincerely "Can we call it even now?" (about posting the video and then helping with the bus stop rebuild) and Pran answers with a nod. One episode. Just one episode difference. Insert GrowthGif.

Ahhhhh Ebb & Flod by After Nature 💖 Not only a fantastic piece of music but the title (ebb and flow) reflects the way Pat seems to shower Pran with affection but then deflects it into a joke ("You smell so good...do my laundry" | "I love to see your face...when you lose") which he does throughout the ep and all the way to the rooftop when Pran finally calls him out on it.

This season was a little like a ”middle season” where I feel like not as much happened. But I do know they’ve been picked up for S7 so this is probably intentional.

I miss Ali and Jessi’s scenes :( But I do know why they didn’t have much interaction except that ”does anyone have a tampon” scene. First is that this season focused much more on family - and also, since stuff that happens on human resources also affects Big Mouth, Jessi doesn’t have a love bug since she got fired. Maybe Human Resources will pick this up in their next season. We’ll see.

1. Warm Up: A book that stretches your mind

Any fantasy book that required me to think and figure out the magic system or the magic rules of the world. Or anytime a sci-fi book mentions computer or coding related stuff and I have to remember my college education to check if what’s in the book is fact or fiction. Recent examples, Name of Wind, Stormlight Archive, Murderbot Diaries. (Read Murderbot Diaries people, it’s amazing and funny!)

2. Start Line: What’s a book that you started but never finished?

Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. I don’t know why. The story was going well but a little slow. Then I got distracted by another book. It’s been 2 years since I last read it. 

3. Sprint: A book you read really quickly

The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, Thicker Than Water by Brigid Kemerrer - had heard great things about both books and they were both super interesting so I kept reading (4/5 stars to both).

A List of Cages by Robin Roe - last book I binge read till 4 am because horrific things were happening and I needed the characters to be happy faster. (5/5 stars)

4. Marathon: What’s your favorite long book?

5. Hurdles: What’s a book that had ups and downs?

Infinity Son by Adam Silvera - the concept was amazing, the execution was a no-no. Every second word in this book was ‘Instagram’ since the characters kept making videos and uploading them to their fanbase. It was annoying and I wanted to DNF this so much, but I persisted and finished it. (2/5 stars, just skip this one).

The Disasters by MK England - diverse cast of characters, space fights. The beginning was amazing but the ending was a bit slow (still got 3.5-4/5 stars)

6. Finish Line: A book you were proud to finish

Frankenstein, Pride and Prejudice! I haven’t read many classics and to be able to finish these two was a big deal for me. Especially since I wanted to throw Frankenstein across the room for being a moron! (Had to switch to audiobook to finish this). Pride and Prejudice was just lovely and deserves all the love~

7. Gold Medal: Best book you’ve read during a readathon

Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff - read this during the 1000 page readathon on Tumblr in 2019.

8. Participation Ribbon: An underrated book you wish got more attention

Anything by Frances Hardinge. I’ve read two of her books (Deeplight, A Skinful of Shadows). They are aimed at Middle Grade but the books are lovely and have more plot than many YA books combined.

FINALLY, THOUGHTS ON EPISODE 94!!!!

SPOILERS!!!!

Did I say last episode my skin was clear, my depression was cured and the world was beautiful? Good... BECAUSE NOW IT REALLY IS!!!! I FREAKING LOVED IT, I FEEL SO PEACEFUL RIGHT NOW!!!! 😁😁😁😁

Okay, first of all, group hug happened

Kai is hard to spot, but it happened and to be honest, at that part I was already "This is enough for me, episode. I don't even care if the rest sucks 😛"

Didn't happen though 😉

Can I just say how I deeply appreciate the fact that, not only we actual get DRAGON FIGHTING (while they usually are just a ride), but all the characters are being active?? I thought for a moment Nya was going to be out of it, but then SURPRISE!! 💦💦 The elemental masters were like "Ninja back? NINJA GO!!!" 😂😂

Yeah, also that Ninja-go from Lloyd made me cry 😢 So beautiful

Jay finally saying what we all always think, why people still live in Ninjago, even after all the mess it went though? 😂😂

Also, son and uncle back to back gave me chills, they are both masters now! Wu finally got fully integrated into the final battle with the Firstborne (who did so great, proud of dragon mom 😙) and did a lot! I'm so happy about it!!

At some point, while the ninja were thinking about how to defeat the Colossi, in my mind I was like "Mm, usually there need to be a crazy act at this point, usually someone does something really heroic or really stup- OH"

Of course 😂😂 It's so him I can't even get mad, but since he's my flame babe I kinda had my heart stopping a couple of times 😥

Then, of course, we have the fight!

It started really hardcore, then slowly drifted in a more philosophical way. I kinda felt like they could've pushed their limits a little more before going there, but I REALLY like the concept!

Fighting against no fighting. Power against balance. What really saddens me is that this kinda of things were noble principles Sensei G used to believe in. He taught the Art of the Silent Fist, that I think Lloyd used pretty freaking well 😄😄

I'll miss him with black eyes, but he does look really cool like this 💚💚💚

But then, Garmadon shocked me. I still can hardly believe it, he was talking and I was like "No! Please! It can't be!!!". And yet, he said it. He did it.

What can I say? This season was simply fantastic. The animations, the soundtracks, the references to older seasons, the plot, the way they treated characters that didn't have much space in the past! One of the best season, I can't really wait what else they have in store!!!

25. a book by your favorite author

sorry to be basic but Emily Henry is my favorite author as I have essentially read all of her books (ok, I've been leaving hello girls for a rainy day). it's extremely hard for me to say which of hers is my fave since they all hold such tender places in my heart, just being the epitome of love and magic. so! I guess I will recommend a million junes because it was my first book of hers and I literally stayed up all night reading it. a fantastic way to enter the new year (although that new year was 2020 lmao)

48. your favorite sci fi novel

I don't actually read a lot of sci fi! since I have so little shelved on Goodreads, I will just recommend the last two I remember: the more traditional sci fi book I've read that I loved is iron widow by xiran jay zhao, which was so feral and unhinged. definitely easy to read for someone who doesn't often read the genre. the world building is done really fluidly. but another sci fi novel that maybe is more magical realism-y is called oona out of order by margarita montimore. basically, the titular oona time travels every New Years to a different year of her life. It was such a gripping plot, and I loved all the characters. I have such a soft memory of the night I read that. it was July, 2020, I was mostly in the living room and it was warm and my mom was watching this documentary about a Central American astrologer. great vibes.

73. a good book with an awful cover

hmm ok I don't read a lot of books with truly terrible covers but I will say that the cover of love lettering by Kate Clayborn does not do it justice. it's such a gorgeous, artistic book, and so, so sweet that I think it deserves something more creative. also, it just doesn't really fit. like it sort of does, but the heroine is a hand lettering artist and the romance develops when she and the love interest walk New York looking for hand lettered signs. idk. just a basic outline of the city is not interesting enough for how unique that book is. but fyi, that's one of my top romance novels of all time. and finally! I own a physical copy! yay!

Mattie: we don’t want you feeling burnt out by September so you’re not excited about starting the new chapter in your life

Mattie: A-levels do a number on too many people, it’s not like a personal dig at all

Lulu: she meant it like I’m cracking up, if that’s not a personal dig idk what is, she might as well stamp like mother like crazy daughter on my forehead

Mattie: Oh, Lulu, no, no one thinks that

Mattie: she has a terrible habit of putting her foot in her mouth, always has

Mattie: I know she would never want to hurt your feelings like that

Lulu: And you have an awful habit of constantly running to her defence but it’s fine

Lulu: I’d feel v bad asking them to do that 😭

Mattie: Well I suppose we could think of a reason they need to be separated but she might be a bit suspect

Lulu: You’re right, I should swallow down my guilt about it and give them Monty too, it’s only going to be for a little while

Mattie: Then we can just say the dog walker is out of town, if you’re deadset against her knowing you’re home

Lulu: I just need some time, please don’t say anything to her

Mattie: I won’t, I promise

Lulu: Thank you, I wouldn’t know where to begin explaining what my life is like at the moment

Mattie: I wouldn’t discount her, she remembers what it was all like

Lulu: not this, trust me

Mattie: What do you mean

Lulu: Nobody else has ever had this experience, not the way I’m having it and certainly not at the same level, that’s all mine, an utterly unique set of circumstances to now and who I am

Lulu: I know what you’re trying to get at, of course, but the fact is, she’d find them TOO extreme even if they weren’t indescribable, to put it bluntly, I couldn’t be living in a more different 🌎 to grandma, or to you

Mattie: I know that’s how being a teenager feels, it’s a vastly different time in your life than general adulthood, or childhood, it’s true

Mattie: but there is still plenty you CAN confide in grandma for, or me

Lulu: We don’t need to try and act like my teenage years haven’t been vastly different from yours, never mind grandma’s forever ago 😂 and my childhood too for that matter, it’s okay

Mattie: Of course, but there’s always shared experiences

Lulu: Respectfully, I don’t agree, not always

Mattie: … Why do I feel like I should be worried?

Mattie: just please tell me I don’t need to be 😅

Lulu: because it’s your default, and Jay’s, you’re both convinced there’s something wrong with me

Mattie: I don’t think that, neither does she

Mattie: the way you’re describing it just sounds serious and serious is always going to peak concern, even if it’s not a bad thing

Lulu: It’s the hypocrisy for me, I can’t help but find it funny that you two think I need to relax when you’re both this unnecessarily stressed, almost everyone alive is traumatised, c’est la vie

Lulu: I feel like screaming, or knocking your heads together, truly, but don’t worry I won’t, not when I can prove you both wrong

Mattie: Now come on, I don’t think either of us is the type to deny our own issues

Mattie: Being a big sister is being worried, it truly isn’t a reflection on you doing something wrong or amiss, but I’m sorry that’s how you feel we treat you, truly

As always, I LOVED IT!!! Sorry to sound too enthusiastic, but this season is so cool 😍

I expecially appreciated the bulding, how the fact that the oni followed the FSM caused Oni Land (that name thought 😂) to be abbandoned. And thinking about what happened with Rumi and Garmy, I can see troubles coming soon 😥😥

So, Mystake is an oni... we all see it coming, honestly, not much of a surprise. Shock that she's not connected to the Garmadon's family, but that's okay 😕

Kai and Jay being brats is amazing 😂😂 I was worried, but they are still them. I bet Plasma shippers will be pleased 😉

THE CHASING SCENE WAS SO COOL!!! Reminds me of the Sky Pirates from Skybound, that was really nice 😎😎

I WANT THAT ICE DRAGON!!! 💙💙💙
