Thinking back on HI where Gojo was the one to first suggest they call of the merger before they even met Riko, which leads me to understand that he didn't have an adequate nor proper childhood at all, hence why he identified and sympathized with Riko by indulding her in fun stuff with Geto so she can enjoy her youth and this was all in 3 days total! Please she was like a little sister to him that he never actually had, just remembering his face full of grief and regret at the end of the HI, i actually even wonder what happened to her body.
And Gojo's whole idea of youth must be preserved at all costs is definitely tied to his childhood or lack of one, to him failing Riko and Geto ultimately because he specifically states that no matter who it is, they should enjoy their young years!
Which brings me to rip!mc and how she was evidently attached to the little girl, a girl that was not much younger than her around 2-3 years with whom she viewed as a family immediately, and it shows rip!mc's loneliness in a way probably the same way as Gojo's, she loved that little girl too much despite knowing her in such a short amount of time and her then teasing Gojo that she's growing on him was so precious.
Then there's family au where they both specifically choose to name their first born girl Riko! I love how Gojo knew that rip!mc was already thinking about that and he and her both decided on kanjis, now Riko is reborn and Gojo is the happiest man alive once more.
(On a side note here, what do you think about their dynamic in HI Morgan?) Other than that, have a lovely day/night and take care of yourself! <3
i think about what happened to riko's body at least once a day :(
if you're referring to gojo and riko's dynamic I really enjoyed it! like you, my first to go impression was chaotic siblings LOL i felt we really got to see a part of who gojo was with someone other than geto. all that talk about leaving riko behind if she was a nuisance only to take her to okinawa like...he is such a tsundere c'mon 😭
of course we can't forget the part where he apologizes to her for not being able to muster anger on her behalf during the toji fight. it often gets overshadowed by gojo's 'throughout heaven and earth' speech but i think that gojo's apology was also an extremely pivotal part of gojo's enlightenment while also being a potential look into the person he could become (detached from his humanity) all in all, riko was such an integral character to his hs character arc and it makes me sad when i see her importance brushed off in favor of geto when both are important to shaping who gojo is in the current manga!
