I fell in love with this house. I was so young. Long before I was interested in architecture and Halloween and dark things. I didn't know why, I just loved it. It sat on a hill at the edge of town, down a little dirt lane. I love it when my parents would drive past. Nobody ever lived there during my lifetime. It always sat empty. Before I came along, the town used it as a haunted house during Halloween. It was destroyed by a fire when I was 10 years old. The new owners were burning brush nearby, and embers ignited the roof. I'm 37 now and I've moved away. But when I'm in town, I always glance at the spot where it used to sit, hoping to see it again as I'm driving by.

The Untold Story Of The Bellaire House - Ohio

On the outskirts of Bellaire, Ohio (OH) lies an old two-story Victorian home known as the "Bellaire house" that has become famous over recent years both among locals, as well as across the country, with some saying it could be the most haunted place in the United States if not the world. Like a mouse falling into a pit of snakes an unsuspecting family disturbed a slumbering force and became enshrouded in a fog of darkness. From paranormal activity, demonic manifestations and dark seances. There is a lot to this Ohio story. This is untold story of the Bellaire House and the terrifying malevolent entities that dwell within it's walls.

Another old house in the woods I discovered while Geocaching. I think the first pic is a covered well, maybe? Also discovered a Munzee QR code, so now I’m trying that out as well!

I love imagining who lived here and what their thoughts were when they last left. Did they know it the last time? Or were they all too aware? This is it. Sigh. Speculation, I know.

I’m also headed out to check out a civil war era morgue/ funeral larlor that now exists as a lawyers office. The current tenants claim that the phone system calls itself from unoccupied offices, and doors open and close on their own.

They say ghost orbs are sometimes captured on film traveling between the house and the next door building, which is where they stored the bodies. Decision time- ghost orbs or Jeopardy?

Probably ghost hunting wins, as I’m also going to follow up on a rumor of a Haunted Bookshop! I’m a little annoyed that there is a bookshop here in Hamilton that I didn’t know about! Welp, that’s it for now. It’s sunny and beautiful out today, if a little chilly. Hope you have a lovely day!

The Portal is basically a doorway right? Big ol solid and sustained gateway from Realm A to Universe B? Unlike the brief blips of natural portals?

As IN... a Ring could therefore, theoretically, send out it's Search For Willpower. EXE vibes? Hit the portal -> go THROUGH the portal -> and continue expanding as the search continued until it hit a Confirmed Match(tm)?

You know... somebody INCREDIBLY SUPER LIKELY to match? Like... say... a Dead Green Lantern who? Had the WILL to continue on as a Ghost? Probably would get priority over any untested "new" Lantern candidates? Since they are somehow both in the system and not?

Recognized, yet a different species somehow?

The Rings records mark them deceased. Yet here they are, without a Ring. Which they OBVIOUSLY need, as Lanterns. Because once a Lantern, always a Lantern. Nyooom~ off it goes.

Off? Probably a whole SHIT TON of them go. Like? A truely, TRUELY alarming amount.

Think hundreds of thousands, suddenly wrenching themselves free of their stands and SHOOTING into the sky. Yes, a few at a time is normal. Day in, day out. Hundreds a day.

Not upwards of millions.

Not all at once.

A SEA of green orbs shooting up into the night sky like shooting stars. So many it chokes the sky. Drives everything to a stand still. All of them going the same direction. Some... EVENT... has just happened and no one knows what it is.

You have no choice but to follow them. Figure out where they are going and what's DRAWING them. You fly for weeks. Take shifts, following them. Alarm countless innocent people and more then a few governments.

It's....? Earth? Fuck. Of COURSE it had to be that God forsaken rock. EVERYTHING seems to come from there! Do you have ANY IDEA how many Lanterns they have stationed there by now? Multiple times the amount ENTIRE QUADRENTS usually take.

Why is it ALWAYS that planet?? Someone call Hal and his merry band of migraines. They're coming in hot. And NO, we CANT stop them. Don't bother asking. We ALSO have no idea where they're headed.

Think about being in Amity. Quiet day for once. You don't trust it. Something gonna happen, you can FEEL it.

A ring shoots past you. Then another. And another. Then dozens. Hundreds. THOUSANDS. Green, glowing, and like they were shot from a gun. The sky hailing ghost jewelry because God hate Amity specifically, apparently, and FUCK your premiums. You dive for your car.

Watch, baffled, at the Fenton house is SWARMED. The local crack pots are trying to shoot at RINGS. Failing to hit a single one. The swarm organized, writhing, and gracefully ALIVE somehow.

Aliens shoot past your car. They're wearing LANTERN get ups. Fighting the local crackpots. The sky is FULL of Lanterns now. Oh god, first Ghosts, now Aliens. Your mother was right. You SHOULD have stayed in Ohio with her sister.

The Rings break the Fenton's door down. The clattering is CACOPHONOUS as they push and shove to race inside. You watch the doorway. Some instinct telling you not to look away. Even as Lanterns and crazy people are shooting at each other not yards away.

Watch. The. Door.

Ghosts come back out. ALIEN Ghosts. Wearing LANTERN rings. Your jaw drops as they just... just KEEP coming. Every last one of them wearing a ring. You struggle to remember how many there WERE. As the sky turns GREEN. As Amity truely DOES become the most haunted place... anywhere.

You're pretty sure in the oceans of GREEN you spot the Justice League. You DEFINITELY spot Phantom. Thank god. No Spooks ever get away with shady nonsense on HIS watch, so whatever happening? 'S gonna get sorted.

And JUST? As you think... maybe, JUST maybe... you could just? Inch your car into drive, and sloooowly get the fuck out of whatever THIS mess it? Those white suited crazy people from the Feds show up and start trying to ARREST the SPACE COPS. For not letting them take unprovoked attacks on OTHER Space Cops!

Hi just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to thoughtfully respond to these anon messages. I work in dc w a fairly wonky set and i cant overstate how haunted the DC Professional Thought Havers are by the spectre of the "low propensity voter." I think these ppl (myself included LOL) thought we had everything figured out ahead of the 2016 elections and then never recovered from the way it ended up going......i feel like in all the years that followed.....the liberal bubbles.....the coastal elites.......the hillbilly elegies......the real america....the ohio diners....the pennsylvania diners.......the polls......the 2020 horserace....while part of an earnest attempt to understand What Happened, were primarily self-indulgent, self-flagellation for being "out of touch" bc of a self-diagnosed "elite" status that then turned into ANOTHER myopic view of the world, just opposite, where the "libs" are hapless and everyone else remotely to the left are primarily victims to the unstoppable supernatural forces of the Right. Then in 2020 the narrative flipped AGAIN and once again, instead of taking the opportunity to expand a worldview and having the bravery to confront their own shortcomings, the opinion havers and wonks and beltway pressers have decided to groupthink their way into writing off democracy altogether. Its BEYOND frustrating to see! Like damn volunteer at a soup kitchen or smthn instead of being obsessed w the fact that i vote lol

Yes, and there are several reasons for that. First, despite all the factors that contributed to Trump's shock win in 2016 (anti-Clintonism, white backlash to Obama, general low voter enthusiasm, Russian disinformation, etc) we should never forget that until James Comey decided to announce 10 days before the election that he was reopening the EEEEEEEMAILS case, even though we all knew there was nothing there, she was leading fairly comfortably in the polls. And while we will never know how the 2016 election would have gone without that, which imho was one of the most unforgivable acts of blatant sabotage by a public official in American history, it's also true that we saw her poll averages start sliding almost in real time, as people who hadn't really been keen on voting for her anyway decided firmly not to and Trump was able to scrape out 16,000 votes across PA, MI, and WI to take the Electoral College. Which... we all remember how we felt that night, right? (Or in my case, early morning, since I was overseas?) We don't, we really, really don't want to feel that way again. Just saying.

As such, the media (which had already beat up Clinton nonstop during the BUT HER EEEEEMAILS saga) drastically overcorrected and as you say, began writing endless angsty handwringing pieces about Trump Voters in Rural Ohio Diners and giving endless sympathetic airtime to how "economically left behind" they felt, regardless of the fact that open racism, especially Obama backlash, was and remains the principal animating feature of Republican politics (since their only economic platform is that which makes very rich people even richer and Democratic economic policies are the only ones actually targeted at helping ordinary people). The hangover was so strong that even when Democrats had a massive 2018 midterm result and flipped the House blue for the first time since the post-ACA backlash lost it in 2010, the Conventional Wisdom was now beyond any doubt that Democrats were doomed for a generation or something, and not that Trump had squeaked out a fluky win (while losing the popular vote) due to endless Russian/Comey/third party-etc interference and wasn't actually that powerful. Even in 2020 when Biden was leading fairly steadily and things were going to hell with Covid, etc. etc. TRUMP IS UNSTOPPABLE, TRUMP IS GOING TO WIN.

(And now. Like. I know Trump thinks Trump won in 2020, as do a large majority of his cultists, but that doesn't mean he did.)

Even after that, when Roe went down in 2022, that made no difference to the RED WAVE COMING!!! narrative, and the amount of smug white male pundits insisting that abortion just wasn't very important and people weren't going to base their entire vote on it reached truly disgusting levels. We're now seeing the same thing with the constant "people won't vote for democracy and/or abortion rights" blast, when as you say, this narrative has just been completely made the fuck up by a lot of groupthinking DC media who are determined that this time, Trump really is going to win and then they get to be principled chroniclers in opposition or something. Not to mention, the basic principle of "democracy and abortion rights are good" do in fact win by thumping margins every time they're on the ballot, including in deep red states. But there is literally not a single piece of empirical evidence despite the massive amounts of it supporting the truth (i.e. that Democrats are doing historically well in competitive elections since 2018 and there's not really a major reason to think this will change in 2024) that will get the media to change the "Democrats in disarray and Biden Iz Doomed" horserace BS they so love. They don't like Biden because he's boring and competent and just does the job without being insane, because it's totally a great idea to treat American government like a reality show! (Recall the infamous comment by the CBS CEO who literally said that Trump was bad for America but great for CBS, because he pulled in high ratings and therefore lots of money and visibility for CBS. We live in the worst timeline.)

As such, the mainstream media has a vendetta against Biden, is determined that this time Trump is super definitely going to win and everyone will see how genius they are, and not-so-secretly wants Trump back because a) he's good for money and ratings, and b) because the media conglomerations are owned by oligarchs who have a vested interest in making sure that Democrats and their policies never get too popular. Notice how the once self-proclaimed centrist independent Elon Musk has turned into a rabidly alt-right fanboy ever since the Democrats really got serious about taxing billionaires as a key part of their platform. Likewise, insisting that Biden Iz Doomed makes Democrats nervous (and thus more likely to tune in) and Republicans gleeful (and thus more likely to tune in), so there's literally no incentive for the media to even try to report things accurately. You could create a very different narrative of the 2024 election if you just remotely bothered to write about things that have actually happened as they have actually taken place, rather than bending over backward to insist that Biden being four years older than Trump is a worse crime than 91 felony indictments, 2 impeachments, 1 insurrection, 450 million dollars and counting in punitive jury verdicts, more major criminal trials coming down the pipe, and just demonstrably being the worst human being alive in so many ways. I mean. Wow.

The good news, as I said in my other post, is that when people actually vote, these utter bullshit narratives get routinely blown out of the water, and that's a good thing. Because it turns out that unlike Super Smart Beltway Pundits' Super Smart Predictions, the average American does actually like democracy and freedom for women to make their own personal healthcare decisions, and they vote accordingly. So while yes, it's being made harrowingly much harder than it needs to be because of how much the media simply refuses to report that basic fact, and there is no amount of evidence that will convince them otherwise, at least we're trending in the right direction and, if we all pull our weight, can do it one more time. I realized the other day that I hadn't heard a fucking peep about Ron DeSantis in the last two months, and oh, how glorious it was. I yearn beyond words for the day (God willing, soon) when the same is true of Trump as well.

REAL early seasons supernatural back when it was monster of the week and embracing this kind of gothic Americana stuff was so awesomeeeee. I wish there had been more like weird local haunted houses or cursed cornfields or whatever (I’m not American so I don’t know the deep lore pls fill in with appropriate Midwest American myths). They should have gone to Appalachia and done a super duper scary episode about the old gods or whatever. Like the angels and demons and stuff is fine especially when they get super weird and religious with it. But. Gothic Americana I miss u come home

I know, some of my favorite episodes are the ones based on urban legends. I'm from ohio and there's definitely lots of haunted places around here and local legends ect. like don't get me wrong I love cas, love the angels, but I kinda miss when the show was more...I guess kinda lower stakes (as in there was no heaven yet and sam and/or dean hadn't died and been brought back to life and no one knew about the true vessel stuff) like in the first two seasons. I know they can't do monster of the week stuff forever but the USA is huge there's so much more they could have done. here I am crying over the potentially lost plotlines of a show with 15 seasons DON'T MIND ME.

“Y/N! C’mon!” you heard Tee call to you from the water. You were sat on the edge of the boat sipping on your drink of choice and choosing the next song that would play through the speakers. Tee, Ja’Marr, Sam, and of course Joe along with their respective girls were in the water while you had chosen to dry off instead - after all it was getting late and you had swam earlier. The early July sun cast a perfect orange glow over the lakehouse you and Joe called home during the offseason. The two of you had been together for years now, meeting during his Ohio State days.

You laughed. “No chance, the water is too cold. Any of you want another drink?” you asked as you finally looked over at them.

Joe swam over to the edge of the boat, pulling himself up. He grabbed a towel as he spoke, the orange glow highlighting his blue eyes. “Wouldn’t mind another one.”

A short time later you were curled up in one of the chairs on the patio, sitting on Joe’s lap with a blanket draped over you as you roasted marshmallows. It wasn’t quite dark enough for the fireworks the boys had gotten yet. Though you had insisted it probably wouldn’t end well, it was the Fourth of July and of course Tee and Ja’Marr couldn’t be swayed.

Joe ran his thumb along your waist, rubbing small circles absentmindedly. He was engrossed in a conversation with Sam, something about Travis Kelce. Ja’Marr butted in.

“Buds all talk, 3-1 and all he can do is run his mouth,” he looked annoyed but Joe just laughed, his smile growing. You were captivated by him still somehow, the way his smile trickled into his eyes and those smile lines. You just smiled softly, finally tearing your eyes from him and laid your head back on his chest as you finished your s’more as the boys continued to talk.

“Guys did you really need this much?” you let out a laugh as the boys set up their fireworks. They’d lined the dock with them and although you joked, you loved fireworks so you weren’t complaining.

“Too many options, we couldn’t decide,” Sam chuckled.

“He’s right.. Fuck it go big or go home right?” Tee shrugged as he set the last firework into place.

“No, I think she’s right honestly but.. Go for it,” Jess, Sam’s girlfriend, laughed beside you.

Joe took his place next to you on the patio finally, slipping his arm around your waist and pulling you close. You leaned into his body, the subtle smell of his cologne filling your senses. Tee and Ja’Marr stayed down to light the fireworks and make sure your house stayed uh.. standing and not on fire while Sam rejoined Jess.

You could swear that even after years together, his gorgeous smile and ocean-blue eyes seemed to draw you in. You seemed to fall more in love with him everyday and as you sat there now, with the people both of you loved most at your home, enjoying this holiday - you couldn’t imagine ever wanting anything else.
