Strawberry Picking and Hato Bus Tour

So, we went on the Hato Bus Tour. It's a bit late, but here's a report on the event. The schedule was:

8:00 AM: Meet in Shinjuku

8:40 AM: Departure

Trip to Nagatoro Town in Saitama Prefecture, where we visited Hodosan to view the plum blossoms (we took the ropeway).

Lunch at Seibu Nagatoro Hotel.

Then, we went strawberry picking in Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture.

We returned to Shinjuku at 6:00 PM.

Of course Kami and all the members seemed to have a great time. As for everyone who participated… there's no need to say anything more, right? Now, please enjoy along with the photos.

As you can see from the two photos above, the “MaCheri” part of the tour name was somehow changed to "MaSeri", which gave us a big laugh. This happened at the hotel where we had lunch (even though the name on the bus was correct...).

Description: Aina's Quirk is basically her father's, but she can turn things elastic the more emotionally excited she feels (i.e. flirtatious, in love, etc). This allows her to use objects as trampolines or weaken the foothold of opponents. She can even turn weapons or projectiles into elastic. Aina can exploit the rubbery environment to her advantage, bouncing around to distract opponents and to dodge attacks.

Advantages:

Being able to turn air into trampolines protects her from enemy attacks as it can serve as a barrier of sorts.

Turning weapons into elastic can render them useless. This makes it easy for Aina to not get hurt.

Aerial trampolines can also help Aina get through the air. She often abused this advantage during her middle school days to avoid taking the bus or train.

Anything elastic can serve a purpose to her. An example is an elastic cable can be used as a slingshot to propel herself to long distances.

The more excited she feels, the more rubbery things can become.

Disadvantages:

Her Quirk requires her to feel emotionally excited. If she is not in that mood, her Quirk will be weak.

Much like her father, she cannot deactivate the Quirk at will. They only way to do so is if Aina stops feeling emotionally excited.

If an enemy manages to adapt to the environment, Aina's Quirk could backfire on her.

Personality: Aina is a mix of her parents, but takes more after her father. She is polite and well-mannered and flirtatious, using honorifics whilst addressing others. An air of confidence and calmness surrounds her much like it does her twin brother. She is described by her colleagues as being very ladylike even in battle and some even call her a perfect role model.

She speaks in proper manner and is shown to have very good etiquette in public places such as restaurants. She conducts herself in a mature manner and looks down upon childish behavior. Aina is like this around most people, but she completely changes around certain people.

Underneath her ladylike persona is a huge and devoted fangirl, a trait from her mother. When she is in the presence of certain people she admires, she is the complete opposite of who she is most of the time. This leads to her squealing uncontrollably and becoming extremely talkative. She begins to act somewhat childish in this state, which contradicts her outlook on said behavior.

In spite of her polite nature, Aina can turn ruthless and selfish if she wants to. She does not fear crushing the hopes and dreams of others to achieve her own and is not afraid to take away from others. Though it is rare she becomes like this, but she can get nasty if needed or wanted.

Unlike her father, Aina values objects of value and money highly. Most of the objects she values are childhood toys, but she also values her jewelry and clothes. She is also like this when it comes to money. She will often save the money to buy things that she does and does not need.

FMP: Designing for Families and Community. LO1

Week 8

Camp Bestival:

Camp Bestival is a family festival in the UK. It was a festival we frequented when I was little, and the graphic design was always something that stood out to me, even as a child. Throughout the years, the designs have been consistently colourful and illustration-based. My family still own souvenirs from the festival from 2012, featuring the iconic teepee symbol. Looking at their website now, their design language remains the same. Their recent collection was designed by Josie Da Bank, creative director at Bestival.

Louis Vuitton Foundation’s Family Festival:

Oftentimes, design and identity for children or family products and brands, still seem to centre adults. It’s fair enough, as adults are the ones forking out for the experience or product, but could the industry stand to benefit from a design approach that has more of a balance? 

Influenced by the shapes, characters and the compositions of graphic design from the 20s and 30s – chiefly Bauhaus – in this instance he opted to merge a geometric design with little legs, long legs and hats.

How to Co-Design with a Community:

Ken Kirton, co-founder of Hato Press, thinks community is power when it comes to design. Kriton also set up Pick Me Up graphic arts festival 

'As a designer you never design something for yourself, you do it for a wider group. So to involve people in the process ultimately makes for a more engaging project. Our Pick Me Up identity says a lot about our approach, as the concept is all about co-design. It’s a digital tool that allows the creative community but also the wider community to engage with it. They might not be graphic designers themselves but they have an interest in the arts, and they can have a play with the type tool and design their own letterforms, which are used in the exhibition identity and displayed at the show. The font is co-designed, and that’s why it’s so dynamic.

We do a lot of co-design and community projects, doing workshops with schools and higher education, but we also do events and exhibitions, which are all about the public audience. We create a toolkit, which can be a hands-on workshop or digital framework, so people can have a sense of ownership and autonomy over the final thing. One of these workshops is culminating in a co-designed bus, which will be used as a public serving bus, which really rings true with our community spirit.

Reflection, LO4:

These case studies are again, far removed from what I want for Flamingo Park, but the idea of allowing children to get involved artistically has inspired me to consider workshops as park of the park, creating a community hub for all.

With respect to both of you, someone insulting me behind my back in Lily’s presence, regardless if it was done privately, personally makes me feel uncomfortable because it feels like a flex to Lily at my expense. With all the cyber bullying I’ve faced, I don’t tolerate that kind of the shit anymore. It’s not my fault that the chat that this was discussed in got leaked, i did not leak it, and if Hato really wanted to be careful, she should have been talking via DM and not in a server full of multiple people.

Continuing that thought, when someone privately says they will not get involved anymore with issues surrounding me and then proceeds to follow a blog harassing me is a huge breach of trust and is incredibly dishonest, in my opinion. It dehumanizing me, it makes me feel that I’m only a punching bag to throw under the bus to appease others. It makes me feel like no one represents my privacy if they can get some form of entertainment or catharsis out of something that, frankly, isn’t their business.

Both of Hato’s actions regarding the follow and the original post were public, I added the context of the DMs to contextualize what we talked about. She said she would stop but she didn’t, and that isn’t ok in my book.

I don’t wish any harassment on Hato, but I wanted to share my discomfort with how she handled herself here. Every claim of my “wishes for harassment” and “to incite a hate mob” has been an inference, not a fact that I ever stated was my intention.

You guys have the right to your opinion, but as unaffected third parties, please keep your conclusions about what my assumed intentions are to yourself, and I would appreciate that.

When I confronted her about following the account after she agreed to not talk and/or look into information regarding me, I sent here this.

So this person needs to be "sO rIgHt" about Lily, that they are willing to look past FACTS OF CHILD PORN AND ABUSE that THEY HAVE IN THEIR POSITION in order to try to find dirt on the person exposing said pedophile. Did you not LISTEN to the call where she OPENELY LIED TO MY FACE??

She attempts to take it all in stride and she smiles, and it's a little timid.

But her shyness only grows as he awkwardly compliments her and she finds a hand coiling around one of the curls that frame her face. ❝ Y-You think? ❞ Misty asks, unable to meet his eyes.
