Bend both knees into the chest. Japa Mala Beads Beautiful prayer beads to enhance your meditation and yoga practice. 2. Exhale drop both knees over to the left side of your body, twisting the spine and low back. Slide the knees as close to the left arm as possible. Look at the right finger tips. 3. Keep the shoulders flat to the floor, close the eyes, and relax into the posture. Let gravity pull the knees down, so you do not have to use any effort in this posture. 4. Breathe and hold for 6-10 breaths. 5. To release: inhale and roll the hips back to the floor. 6. Repeat on other side. Benefits + Contraindications Benefits: Belly Twist pose stretches the back muscles, realigns and lengthens the spine, and hydrates the spinal disks. Contraindications: Recent or chronic injury to the knees, hips or back. Modifications + Variations Modifications: Place a folded blanket under the knees. Non-Attachment -----------------------------------------------
Lotus flowers stand like an ornament, full of beauty in front of my eyes.
My favorite flowers are inside Akshara Yoga Schoolโs pond proud & they make me realize that non-attachment is the solution for a happy life!
According to Yoga & to Indian Philosophy lotus (Padma in Sanskrit) symbolizes enlightenment, divinity, fertility, wealth, and knowledge.
The 7 centers of awareness, chakras, are described as 7 lotuses, by Rishis, while being in deep meditative state.ย
Chakras range from the lowest plane of gross impulses to the highest plane of pure bliss, like the lotus flowers do.
ย Lowest plane of gross impulses is the mud, where lotus has its roots, while the highest plane of pure bliss is the blooming flower.
Moreover, the Lotus Pose ๐ Padmasana, takes its name from the position of the feet and legs representing the petals of the lotus flower.
While observing our lotus flowers, I realize that we can also BLOOM in life, exactly like the lotus does irrelevant the circumstances by absorbing its example.
Though deep rooted inside the mud (darkness, confusion, ego, fear, greed), undisturbed by the surrounding algae, which aim to vanish it (bad company, wicked people, relatives, thoughts), the lotus flower blooms detached from all its environment by giving its BEST.
It is in our hand only to bloom like a Lotus and change our lives forever!

Bhakti Yoga โ The path of Devotion
Bhakti Yoga tells us that love is the most natural & basic instinct of life. In its purest form, it is Cosmo centric. But when polluted and perverted by self-love, it becomes egocentric.ย
The ego blocks the free flow of love toward all beings and things equally. In Bhakti Yoga Love, the lover and the beloved become one.
The basic obstacles in the path of Bhakti Yoga are as follows:
ย 1.ย Bad companyย ๐ย Bad company arises all the dormant passions of oneโs mind.
2. Idle gossip ๐ย By dwelling on the shortcomings of others, yogi themselves become infected of those shortcomings.
3. Dogmatism ๐ย A yogi often becomes dogmatic and he wrongly justifies that dogmatism as love for chosen ideal
4. Emotionalism ๐ย Unless one emotions are tempered by reason, they are obstacles.
5. Lack of spirituality ๐ย Seekers lacking in the chosen ideal inevitably find meditation difficult.
6. Dullnessย ๐ Lapsing into dullness and inertia, seekers often become irregular in their practice.
7. Gullibilityย ๐ Yogis develop an aversion towards reason & discrimination & fall victim to gullibility
8. Fastidiousness & Ostentationย ๐ Yogis sometimes instead of keeping their minds busy with meditation, they often busy themselves with non-essential details.
ย The ways to overcome these obstacles respectively are as follows:
1.ย ย ย ย ย ย Maintaining a meditative state, repeat godโs name
2.ย ย ย ย ย ย Cultivate the habit of seeing the good qualities of a person
3.ย ย ย ย ย ย Do not keep hatred to other religions
4.ย ย ย ย ย ย Control emotion with help of reason & discrimination
5.ย ย ย ย ย ย Remain faithful & steadfast to your path ย
6.ย ย ย ย ย ย Be alert to avoid becoming deluded
7.ย ย ย ย ย ย Study the scriptures & self-analysis
9.ย ย ย ย ย ย The deepest the seekerโs love for God the lesser the outer display for spiritual emotions
