Haso! Haven’t made on in a little bit so here ya go <3 the loudest big cat on the planet is a lion with a roar that is up to 114 decibels.

A jet engine is about 120 decibels or higher depending on the engine

And the loudest human shout was 129 decibels

Humans are so small and yet we can make noises so loud it can overcome not just other apex predators but powerful explosive machines as well 0-0

There’s a theory that humans evolved to be so loud because of other apex predators. Our loudness actually scares them away because in the wilderness the louder something is the stronger it is. Now in the case of humans this is basically the equivalent of a bluff if your comparing a grizzly or a lion or tiger to a human lol. But it works and that’s what matters.

Bluffing is pretty common in the animal kingdom. (Cats becoming puff balls to look mean. Birds expanding their feathers to appear bigger.) humans just learned instead of making ourselves look better we can take some advice from tigers and stun others with sound. :)

Something I find very fascinating is that humans and loudness are so intertwined on earth that if you took a speaker and put it in the woods (this was an actual experiment done) and just played some human noises, all life in the area (minus a few prey species) will flee. This included large predators that could easily over take us. It wasn’t just yelling noises played on this speaker though. Other noises like calm poetry, laughter, and others were played and no matter how aggressive or soft it was the animals fled.

It seems like humans have been ingrained into the minds of almost all life on this planet. And in the worst possible way.

I also really enjoy imagining a dude yodeling to display dominance over his property if he lives in bear country
