day 5; scars

this one was a very easy pick between the two prompts and it's something I've been stewing over since the first season. so much so that I have references for it, made some art for it and I even got a fic.

this is the rant part

In this episode, the first time we see Megatron, he’s been arguing with Karen and OP about how dangerous Starscream is, and how capturing him is a priority. The next scene is MegOP by the hole where the seekers escaped. Just before he goes in, OP almost begged Megatron to: 'Just promise me you'll return him without excessive force.' 

When Megatron does find Starscream, they fall right back into their fighting pattern, triggering some PTDS on Starscream's side.

I see this and go feral, I am staunchly in the camp; this is not an animation error, i will bite!!! The Decepticon brand is only there when the pov is from Starscream. *feral gremlin moment over*

This is also an important detail. 

Hashtags intervenes, trying to warn Megatron about the Dweller. 'Lol, nice troll' is basically his answer, dismissing her, juuuust a few seconds before he gets energon siphoned. 

Scars appear on his face, the Dweller is having a very nice energon caprisun over there. Megatron, now a good Autobot, probably uses the last of his energy to fire his fusion cannon. In a very bad ass way, really cool move. Noble move to protect the Terran, the next generation. 

But it’s not his sacrifice that saves Hashtag. It’s Starscream that jumps and gets dragged away by the Dweller, leaving behind a rather dumbfounded Megatron. Seeing Starscream scream ‘NO!’ and dash toward danger to save someone, has probably blown a fuse or two in his processor. 

At the end of the episode, when he proposes ‘somewhere safe’ for Starscream, I see this scene as Megatron realizing he’s not the only one who changed. Earth had an impact on both the ‘Cons and the ‘Bots. He should feel bad for attacking Starscream right away, especially with Hashtag right there who could have easily got hit in the crossfire. He let rage consumed him and went down the dark path. All it got him was scars and Hashtag distrusting him.

So when it’s time to get fixed, the scars are the first thing the medic worries about.

I'd like to propose that Megatron keeps them. I HC so hard that the scars stay on his faceplate as a reminder. Like the scar on his shoulder, those streaks are a reminder that he would lay down his life for the next generation and that letting his rage control him again has consequences that would hurt him. Rage and solitude versus love and family.

So I was scrolling on the Beavis and Butthead Hashtag on here like any other day but today I saw this cool dude with a bunch of Beavis and Butthead Tattoos on his arms.

So I’m thinking when I’m in my later 20’s or 30’s I want an Old Butthead Tattoo just Because he’s been a HUGE Comfort character sense he was introduced in the new Beavis and Butthead series.

I would say fuck it I want to do it on my 21st Birthday in 2 Years but I’m to much of a wuss right now so I’ll wait it out and see if he’ll still my my number one priority in life still in my later 20’s or 30’s.

The entire last bit of your post starting with “getting a little tag trending,” and ending with “your priorities are sickening,” that’s where you’re guilting people. It’s not even close to difficult to see that those words are deliberately written to make people FEEL GUILTY about what YOU THINK they’re doing.

And that’s the issue I have right there. It IS what you personally think is happening. Posting about this topic and “keeping the tags trending,” ARE NOT the be all end all. And they’re not even the only way to raise awareness. You are absolutely implying that you can’t see them coexisting when you assume that just because people are posting about something in the context of one holiday, that automatically means they cannot or have not been raising awareness in other ways before, during, or after the posts you have seen. Or you know as you put it “don’t give a shit.”

I have no doubt that there are people who are desensitized to the violence and have probably said some insensitive things, but that’s not how the goal for the ace and aro hashtags work. Some individuals do NOT make the whole goal of trending those hashtags to “change aces and aros priorities on current global events.”

Pisses me off to no end that there are people being more focused on getting the aromantic and asexual tags trending right now. Tell me, which is more important: bringing more awareness to an active genocide being brought on by a terrorist state that refuses to stop until they've completely destroyed their target, killing thousands of men, women, children, BABIES, with absolutely no excuse other than "well it's not OUR fault",

Or getting a little tag to trend for Valentine's Day? Another day that Palestinians have to suffer through, watching their own loved ones getting bombed or sniped or crushed to death?

Hhhhh I hate decisions... I’ve finished King of Scars was up till 7 AM FOR MY TZAR bc Nikolai is the best Tzar ever ashdjklhk and naturally, since I adored that book and Nikolai and Zoya I want the other Grishaverse books. And the Grishaverse Trilogy specifically because a) they’re the first ones, and b) Nikolai and Zoya appear.

But since i have King of Scars in German I want the trilogy in German, too. But otoh I like reading in English and there’s a chance Nikolai is even better in English. And the English box set, for some reason, is cheaper than the German one.

ive been awake since 3 in the morning as our dad woke us up to pack our stuff again and head onto our uncle's which we are currently at.

it's just been raining hard here since last night and the water was about to reach our house again, so as a precautionary measure, we packed our stuff, placed all our other important stuff on a higher place in our house, and left. guess what i first picked up and made sure theyre safe? lmao no need to guess rlly bc imma tell you — the first things i grabbed were my boots and shoes and my sister def didnt left that unnoticed bc she was like "lol, ate, i did not expect that the first thing you made sure was safe was your boots, but also, it's not surprising bc it's like aina written all over it". lmao at that.

idrk why but when i heard our dad waking us up and telling us we needed to be ready, my half-asleep mind thought of my laptop and camera which i know i will be bringing with me so i let them where they are, and then i proceeded to grab a paperbag, put my boots and shoes in there and placed it on my grandparents' room for safekeeping. hashtag priorities ya know. after that, i started packing and bam we're out driving in the flood going to our uncle's again.

problem is just i just left the house bc i was invited to a dinner and i have no idea when i will get back. and also, in austria we celebrate christmas on the 24th so tomorrow morning/afternoon is gonna be crazy with last preparations for the evening and then i'll also have an international friend over in the evening who might spend the night and so i should really have published the post before my friend comes rip

And somehow no one’s kvetching about not being featured on trending 🙄 I’m not saying BLM and SAH shouldn’t be a top priority, but take a closer look at hashtag activism and it’s largely performative. When half the tags are flipping out over the shortcomings of the algorithm and the other half are gaslighting and gatekeeping Jewish voices, there’s only so many actually pushing for change & awareness. Why subconsciously push antisimetic rhetoric when we’re all on the same team, you know?

i’m not entirely sure what you mean by the last sentence, but i’ll comment on the rest. i totally agree that most activism on social media is very performative. unfortunately many people will blindly follow trends, even social movements, so they don’t seem uncool despite not knowing almost anything about it. but even though lots of people blindly follow, it does still have an impact. i guess my (hopeful) wish is for not hating jews to be the next popular trend lmao

all RIGHT. spoilers for the 100 past this point! also i’m gonna go ahead and preface this with a warning about racism, and also that a lot of this is based off stan twitter, but like. they aren’t Wrong.

oh, also, i’m gonna go ahead and drop my stan twitter: i rarely make original posts, but, ya know. it’s a jumble of content. feel free to follow if u want.

also! there’s this whole thread of hiatus drama, if you want a fuller picture than what i’m giving you.

so a quick, general sum-up of some plot that goes into this Whole situation: the sixth season of t100 took place on a different planet, after t100 spent ~5 seasons on earth, so this introduced new characters and also the concept of interplanetary travel. in the season six finale, hope (the daughter of a character, diyoza, who was still pregnant with hope, because ~time travel~) stepped through what’s called “the anomaly,” says “i’m sorry,” and stabs octavia, dissipating her into green mist. bellamy, octavia’s brother (who has had Issues and a Lot of storylines centering around octavia, which is a whole other topic of conversation (ft. bellamy’s storylines centering around white women (bob morley, who plays bellamy, is half-filipino) octavia’s treatment by fandom vs bellamy’s, and you can probably tell which side i’m on by how loudly i screamed “YEEEEEESSSSSSS” when bellamy said “you’re my sister, but you’re not my responsibility anymore” after SIX SEASON of—okay you see, i’m getting off topic) 

anyway, the season closer was that octavia went through the anomaly, which (this is important!) a fair amount of the main characters saw (gabriel, hope, echo, and bellamy, namely) bellamy, in that same season closer, was running through the woods alone, yelling for octavia. season ending. good hook!

and then.... nothing.

seriously. the hiatus between season six and season seven of the hundred (the LAST season of the show, EVER!) there was next to no promotional material. no bts pics, no tweets from cast/crew, nada. nothing. which stirred up quite a bit of complaint in the fandom—one, it’s the last season, can we not have some promotion, and two, it’s the last season, and there’s no promotion by cast/crew/the cw, why is this happening?

seriously. the season seven teaser clip that got aired between episodes on the cw was released before the trailer. it became a meme, how long we were waiting for the trailer. like it was... what, 19, 20 days before the season aired, and all we had was like a stitched-together character poster?

there was also some drama throughout the hiatus, ft. the fandom getting on the news for not getting content in the hiatus, jessica harmon (who plays a guest role, nylah, and whose brother plays murphy) getting snappy at fans on twitter for asking for promotion, and isaiah washington, who played thelonious jaha (a character that died in s5) telling a minor (and also going into their dms!) that he’d call the fbi on them, good times, the 100 fandom is a Disaster and i live a nightmare every day

and then. the trailer drops.

which starts “where is bellamy?” like. people. were SEARCHING for bellamy. people were trying to be optimistic, but rapidly people were also coming to, like, the worst conclusions. however as always t100 fandom did have some jokes, so like, ya know

people were looking forward to other promo: the poster, and also, there’s this tradition of countdown bts photos for the show, and since bob and eliza (who plays clarke, the female lead) just got married, people had high hopes! 

and then came the poster (which had no bellamy, or characters at all) and then the OFFICIAL poster (which had characters, but still no bellamy) which started the hashtag #whereisbellamyblake, because, seriously, he’s the male lead and it’s the last season. also bonus screengrab of this from jroth (the lead writer’s) mom’s twitter lmao

so people rightfully had questions: the excuse that was being given was that including bellamy would be “spoilery,” except, like, it’s a poster? and the only shot of him in the trailer was him being dragged along the ground despite the fact that he was the thumbnail for the trailer? like, okay, which led to some twitter meltdowns, and some more, and again people were fearing the worst, because like, see lexa, jason has a BAD track record when it comes to fan-favorite ships. people were HEATED, people were RANTING, it was a MESS

also. the edited posters were pretty funny, okay, then bob and eliza, bless them, dropped some a+ twitter content, and things calmed down a bit

and then, countdown days started. usually, the order goes bob on one more day, and eliza on show day. except this year? eliza was one more day. which. people were going nuts. because it was a tradition! and keeping BOB out of a behind the scenes where there weren’t any spoilers? it just seemed unprofessional—especially damning, given jason’s past history with ricky whittle, who played lincoln, and was bullied off the set. people were worried that, one, this was affecting bob’s storyline, and two, well. remember that thing about fan-favorite ships? here’s a whole thread of that, btw. and a video of ricky whittle, here.

it is a genuine fear of a lot of the fandom that jason will, in all his pettiness, not give in to bellarke. which is kind of nutty, given that it’s the core relationship of the show, and he himself had said that he’d been foreshadowing it. bellamy and clarke are literally “the head and the heart” of the show.

there’s a lot of subsequent drama; the fact that apparently they’re pushing through clarke/gaia (even though there was ??? no previous evidence of this??) still no bellamy for four episodes (seriously, it took clarke, like, two episodes to even cotton onto the fact that he was missing at all)  a lot of criticism of jason (he’s shamed shipping and also, lmao, is trying to push through a spinoff?) and just. Yeah. 

i’m really burnt out when it comes to the 100 fandom; i’ve unfollowed a lot of the t100-centric tumblrs i used to follow, once the show is over i’m gonna unfollow a lot of the twitters and just, yeah. i care about bob and eliza, and i care about bellarke, but the fandom wears me out and the unprofessionalism of a lot of what’s gone down has kind of just? made me lose interest? they’re recycling storylines (esp centering around octavia and bellamy) and continuity doesn’t seem to really be a priority. i just... yeah. i mostly care about bellarke and the fact that i bond a lot with one of my real-life friends through this show. if bellarke doesn’t happen, i’m gonna be like Really... disappointed, mad, irritated? like. imagine. it’s literally So Easy. the actors got married, ffs, you’ve gotten in trouble for ending two ships via very tragic death (in the same season, even!) like how is this Not Clicking

i really really REALLY liked this drama and it’s one of the two bl dramas (not counting the untamed) i’ve given a full 10/10 rating on mdl because it’s THAT good

everything about this drama is just.. chef’s kiss i love it i will probably rewatch it when my plan to watch is empty but it’s a pretty long list so.. hopefully i’ll ignore that and just rewatch sjkfhslf

i’ll of course watch kiss and kiss me again just for the petekao, the squad and rain scrumbs because i’m sure that the petekao compilations don’t show everything

but yeah im just.. i love this show it’s been a rlly long time since i started writing this but i’m still happy because it’s so good and truly gave us a good happy ending and i swear i cannot emphasise enough how important good happy endings in lgbt media are!!!!!!!!!!

HELLO DENIZENS! Squeeze 2018 was iconic (watch out for the mid-2019 squeeze, we'll have more fire) but one thing I missed out on was— having a solid gameplan.

I've been reflecting on the last 6 weeks and my eyebrows and wig flew away because... I hardly got anything worthwhile done.

Week 7 has started, and I'm ready to take some serious action. If you're tired of being a victim to time, and wanna do something with the remaining 45+ weeks, join in.

What I learnt in the last 6 weeks:

You're literally getting nowhere without a plan. It's fun to be all hype, yell hurrah and take action on one random day when you're motivated, but in the long-term, you'll miss out on a lot of things you could've     accomplished had you been more systematic.

What's the plan ahead:

I journaled down three main priorities for 2019. They are:

1. establish morning & night routines customised for my lifestyle

2. incorporate habits like:

gratitude list

tidying up my room

reading daily

writing something for my blog daily

journaling daily

3. make weekly progress on my 2019 goals

Integrating priority 1 with habits (priority 2) is my first Attack 2019 Challenge. I read Habit Stacking last year. In short, it was about stacking habits on top of each other, one by one, and building a habit stack that eventually becomes your habit “routine”.

Designing my night routine; I've never really had a night routine, because I often sleep at irregular times, but that'll have to change this year.

In the last 3 or so weeks, I've laid down a foundation for the first habit in my night routine (got something meaningful done lmao, yay for me): brushing my teeth.

Doesn't sound like much, but it's the first step to a lifelong routine, and something I'll definitely use as a cue for other habits.

Here's the current nightly habit stack that I've been following for the last 5 days before going to bed:

Brush my teeth

Tidy kitchen table & desk

Plan for the next day

Read one chp (the minimum, if I'm really tired, is 5 pgs)

I eventually plan on expanding this a bit more—and get in stuff like washing my face, moisturising and writing down 3 things in grateful for—but for now, this will do.

How long am I planning to follow this before I add another habit to the stack? Hard to say exactly, but I'll give myself at least TWO WEEKS to make this stack stronger. 

What's coming up? 

With my night routine in place, the next couple of things I'll attack:

Build a morning routine, with stuff like connecting with my vision, exercising, writing posts etc.

Build a afternoon stack for the hour after lunch, with habits like journalling, brainstorming & outlining, replying to messages etc.

Follow a fixed running and stretching schedule

Finding a way to track weekly progress on my 2019 goals

There's lots to fix and re-do this year! I'm determined to upgrade my lifestyle, and there'll be a lot of purposeful planning involved to do the same (ain't Christmas pals, put in the effort), but I'm excited.

Speaking of which, Instagram is full of "revealing" stuff. Hell THE BNHA COMMUNITY is full of people making publicity their NSFW patreons. And guess who watch BNHA? Lots of underage kids Lmao. But sure let's not talk about that! Mind you that this stuff has way more exposure to them than any IG model posting revealing photos because guess what? They use the SFW BNHA hashtags for it. Honestly if you're gonna bitch and pretend to care about children's safety at least get your priorities straight
