Kagome Xover Secret Santa List
Here’s my list for @masquerabe’s kagx secret santa 2017!
It’s in no particular order, well it’s listed alphabetically, but that’s just how I like it. I have an even longer list on my page if there’s nothing of interest on this list.
I’m open to anything under the sun, moon, and stars~
Any type of fanwork, genres, relationships are certainly welcome, but nothing too dark or angtsy. NFSW is okay too!

If you enjoy situation comedies like Friends, Cheers and The Office, you will probably enjoy Servant x Service. Servant x Service is a romantic comedy (with the emphasis on comedy) set among civil servants working in a Prefecture Welfare Office. Unlike the majority of anime, which are aimed at teenagers, all of our main characters are adults in their twenties, just starting their professional careers.
Our main character is Lucy Yamagami, who has joined the civil service for revenge. You see, her full name is Lucy Kimiko Akie Airi Shiori Rinne Yoshiho Ayano Tomika Chitose Sanae Mikiko Ichika... Yamagami. Her parents couldn't decide on a name, so they asked everyone at the hospital for suggestions, and then couldn't decide between them. Lucy wants to get even with the civil servant who approved her ridiculous name, although she's not sure how. Also Lucy is as bizarre a name in Japan as Ichigo would be in the United States, so she's been teased about her name for her entire life. This makes her shy and uncomfortable around men. Because of her wallflower nature, she doesn't recognize when men flirt with her or believe that any man could be attracted to her.
The other characters who surround Lucy are Yutaka Hasebe, Saya Myoshi, Megumi Chihaya, and Taishi Ichimiya. Hasebe is a brilliant but lazy new hire who comes from a long line of civil servants and who is always looking for new places to slack off. He starts teasing Lucy over her name, and gradually comes to realize that he has real feelings for her. Will he ever be able to break through her reserve and his reputation as a slacker and a flirt? Myoshi is a sweet and quiet girl, who is a favorite of clients. She also has an absolute knack for innocently saying the wrong thing, that cut her coworkers to the bone. Chihaya is a temporary worker whose true passions are cosplay and her boss. Ichimiya is the supervisor of this little group, and is completely overwhelmed in trying to manage them.
I found this show absolutely delightful. It's absurd humor is created by watching distinct individuals try to fit themselves into the regimented life of civil service. Anyone who has worked in an office will immediately recognize the slacker, the earnest go getter, the nervous supervisor, the deadpan snarker, the out of touch boss, and the variety of demanding clients who interrupt important issues like who's dating whom.
Servant x Service differs from other anime in almost every way. Our heroes are adults, not teenagers. There are no magic powers, no monsters, no giant mecha, and not even any villains. It's just a story about a group of appealing characters trying to get through their everyday lives. With just a few minor changes, it could have easily been produced as a live action show.
I've recommended Servant x Service to several friends with mixed results. Teenagers find it dull and uninteresting. For them, it's just like hearing their parents complain about everyday problems at the office. Some adults don't care for it, but others find it as compelling as I do. Crunchyroll and Hulu have it available for free streaming, so give it a try.
