apology â harvey specter
pairing: harvey specter x reader ( no use of y/n ) summary: harvey shows up at your door after an argument content warnings: mention of reader being insecure
You sat curled up on your couch, the flickering glow of the TV casting faint shadows across the room. The bowl of ice cream in your lap was starting to melt, but you didnât care enough to do anything about it. You were wearing your comfiest pajamas, the ones you saved for days when the world had been particularly unkind.
And today? Today had been brutal.Â
The case had been a winâon paper, at least. But all you could hear in your head was Harveyâs sharp words during the meeting. His tone, clipped and impatient, kept replaying on a loop.Â
âIf you canât handle the pressure, step aside and let someone who can.âÂ
You winced just thinking about it. Maybe you were being overly sensitive. After all, Harvey Specter wasnât exactly known for his soft tact. But this? This felt different. It wasnât just the sting of professional criticism; it was the fact that it had come from him.Â
You let out a heavy sigh, swirling your spoon absentmindedly in the half-melted ice cream. Youâd been crushing on Harvey for what felt like forever, and hearing those words from him had hit harder than you cared to admit. It wasnât like you didnât know you werenât the best lawyer in the roomâhow could you be when you worked alongside Mike Ross, a walking encyclopedia, and Harvey Specter, the best closer in the city?Â
But still, his words had cut deeper than usual today. Maybe it was the way heâd barely looked at you afterward, as if the conversation wasnât even worth revisiting. Or maybe it was the gnawing insecurity that told you he was right.Â
You set the bowl aside, pulling a blanket over your lap as you tried to refocus on the TV. It didnât help. The dialogue barely registered, drowned out by the weight of your thoughts.Â
The knock at the door startled you. You froze mid-movement, your heart skipping a beat. You werenât expecting anyone. Slowly, you set the blanket aside, padding toward the door with cautious steps.Â
When you opened it, you were met with a sight you never thought youâd see.Â
âHarvey?â you said, your voice soft with surprise.Â
There he was, Harvey Specter, standing in the dim glow of the hallway. He wasnât in his usual power suit. Instead, he wore a casual jacket and dark jeans. In his hand was a bouquet of flowers.
âHey,â he said, his deep voice cutting through the quiet.Â
âWhat... what is this?â you asked, your eyes flitting between his face and the flowers.Â
âThese are for you,â he said simply, holding the bouquet out toward you. His tone was softer than usual, and for once, he seemed almost... uncertain.Â
You stared at the flowers, your mind scrambling to catch up. Slowly, you took them from him, the stems cool and firm in your hand.Â
âCan I come in?â he asked, his gaze steady but lacking its usual edge.Â
Wordlessly, you stepped aside, opening the door wider. As Harvey stepped inside, his eyes scanned the room before landing back on you. His lips curved into the faintest of smirks.Â
âNice outfit,â he said, gesturing toward your pajamas.Â
You felt a flush creep up your neck as you glanced down at your old, oversized T-shirt and plaid pants. âHey, donât judge,â you shot back, a small smile tugging at your lips.Â
âWouldnât dream of it,â he replied, his tone lighter now, though his eyes lingered on you a moment longer than necessary.Â
You closed the door, leaning against it for a second to collect yourself. Harvey Specter was in your apartment.Â
You turned back to see Harvey already sprawled on your couch, looking as though he owned the place. One arm was draped along the backrest while the other tapped idly on the armrest.Â
âComfortable?â you quipped, raising an eyebrow as you turned toward the kitchen to find a vase for the flowers.Â
âHmm... debatable,â he replied, his tone nonchalant, though you caught the faintest smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth.Â
You busied yourself with filling a vase, the sound of running water filling the space. From the corner of your eye, you could see him glance at the TV, clearly unimpressed by whatever show youâd been pretending to watch.Â
Once the flowers were arranged and set on the counter, you walked back into the living room, stopping just in front of him.Â
âHarvey,â you began, crossing your arms, âwhat are you doing here? And what are the flowers for?âÂ
He looked up at you, tilting his head slightly, his expression unreadable. âYou know what the flowers are for,â he said simply, his voice low and steady.Â
âDo I?â you asked, arching a brow and leaning slightly toward him. âHow about you say it?âÂ
A flicker of somethingâhesitation, maybeâpassed over his face, but only for a moment. He sat up straighter, his eyes locking onto yours as though considering his next move. Finally, he stood, the movement deliberate and measured, and now he was towering over you, close enough that you could feel the faint heat radiating from him.Â
âIâm sorry, okay?â he said, his voice quieter now.âI shouldnât have talked to you like that. I was out of line.âÂ
You blinked, momentarily caught off guard by the sincerity in his tone. It wasnât every day that Harvey Specter apologized.Â
âGo on,â you prompted, trying to mask the way your heart raced under his gaze.Â
He ran a hand through his hair, letting out a small exhale. âI was frustratedâat the case, at myselfâbut I took it out on you, and that wasnât fair. You didnât deserve that. Youâre... good at what you do, and I should have said that instead of what I did.âÂ
His eyes softened as he looked at you, the usual sharpness in them replaced by something more vulnerable. âI donât want you thinking, even for a second, that youâre not an asset to this team. Or to me.âÂ
You swallowed hard, the weight of his words sinking in. âHarvey...âÂ
âI mean it,â he cut you off gently. âYouâre not just goodâyouâre exceptional. I see it, even if I donât always say it.âÂ
For a moment, neither of you said anything. The air felt charged, his presence almost overwhelming, but not in a bad way.Â
Finally, you broke the silence with a soft smile. âYou know, for someone whoâs supposedly great with words, that apology couldâve come a little sooner.âÂ
He chuckled, the sound warm and low. âIâm a closer, not a poet.âÂ
You laughed, the tension easing slightly as you felt the sincerity behind his humor. âWell, thank youâfor the apology and the flowers.âÂ
Harveyâs lips curved into a rare, genuine smile. âYouâre welcome. But seriously, no more sulking in pajamas over me, okay?âÂ
You rolled your eyes playfully. âNo promises.âÂ
âFair enough,â he said, his voice lighter now as he stepped back toward the couch. âBut if it helps, Iâll try to piss you off less.âÂ
You grinned, sitting down next to him. For the first time all day, you felt okay.

I Want More. (3)
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, more coming soon
Pairing: Harvey Specter x F!Lawyer!Reader - friends to enemies to lovers <3
Part 3 Summary: Y/n joins Mike and Harvey when they go to see a client. The client flirts with Y/n, and she makes the best of it, hopefully landing some clients. Harvey is not happy.
Warnings: Reflecting on past relationship, some yelling
Word Count: 2570
A/N: Thank ya'll so much for the support! The more you comment and like, the faster I write. Love ya'll enjoy!
Iâm typing away an email when my intercom goes off. â(Y/n), Harvey needs you in his office.â Donnaâs voice rings out and I feel nauseous.
              âOk, thanks, Donna.â Wait. âDonna?â
              âWhatâs up?â She asks in a sing-song voice, and I can hear her fingers click-clacking against her keyboard.
              âHow long has the intercom been on?â The click-clacking stops. I let out an incredulous laugh, âHave you been listening this whole time?â The intercom beeps and I know itâs been shut off, probably for the first time since Iâve been here.
              I smile and stand from my desk, throwing on the black blazer that was previously sitting on the back of my chair. Thereâs a pastel pink handkerchief tucked in the breast pocket that matches my blouse.. that also matches Harveyâs tie. What a weird coincidence.
              I walk the short distance from my office to Donnaâs desk. âGood morning!â She hums all too happily at me. I give her a raised brow and cross my arms. âItâs nothing personal, I hear all around here. Thatâs why Iâm so good at what I do. Iâm Donna.â She flicks her hands in the air with flair.
              âOf course.â I smile at her mischievously. âIf you hear all around here, Donna, what have people been saying about me?â Iâve been wondering, but had no way of finding out, until now.
              âWell, obviously Iâve heard the sheâs smoking comment more times than I can count.â She laughs. âLouis thinks your one joke away from going to dinner with him.â
              âShoot, I donât want to give him the wrong impression.â I scold myself and bite my lip.
              âWhat, you donât date anyone in the office?â She questions, but itâs off. Her tone, something about it⊠I lift my eyes to meet hers and she has a devious smile.
              âYou know.â I exhale and lean on the desk. âGod, does everyone know?!â I whisper yell at her. I do a quick scan of my surroundings, and I donât see anyone looking. I hesitantly take a quick peek into Harveyâs office.
I pause my frantic behavior when I see him. Heâs sitting at his desk on the phone and Mike is on the couch. I can tell heâs charming whoever is on the other side of the phone, because even though they canât see him, he has his prince-like smile on him. My heart swells for him.
âThatâs how I know,â Donna whispers in my ear. I jump, I didnât even see her get up. She gives me a pointed look. âYesterday, I saw you look at him when you two were first âmeetingââ she gives air quotes, âand I could see the way you look at him. You couldnât keep your eyes off-â
âHis puppy dog eyes.â I cut her off, but my eyes are still strained on him. I have to tear my eyes away from him to bashfully look at Donna.
She nods with a smile, âThe rest Iâve put together from bits and pieces of everyoneâs conversations.â She shrugs cockily. âYou know,â She stops herself; I can tell sheâs debating whether or not to say what sheâs about to say, âThis isnât my first time hearing about you.â
My heart flips. I want to question her further, and Iâm about to until I smell expensive cologne and a familiar musk. I turn my head to see Harvey just leaving his office with Mike in tow. He sees me and smiles, trying to charm me. Oh god, heâs trying to play me!
Back in the day, I knew Harvey better than I knew myself. So now I know heâs trying to get back in my good graces, what I donât know is his end goal.
âGâmorning, Donna,â He greets Donna and then his eyes slowly trail to mine. â(Y/n).â He has a close-lipped smirk on his face, one he knew made my knees weak in law school. This may be harder than I thought.
I give him a polite nod but donât give him any more attention. He may still give me butterflies, but Iâm still pissed. I turn my attention to the younger man beside him. âMike.â I greet him with a smile but thereâs some tension exuding from me. I havenât forgotten what he said to me the other day. âYâknow, our conversation the other day inspired me,â I put my hand on his shoulder and squeeze it. âI think my next vacation might be in ParisâŠFrance.â I say bluntly and drop the smile I was faking as I side-eyed Harvey.
His eyes dart from my face to Mike accusingly. âYeah, ha-ha,â Mike laughs nervously. âItâs a beautiful place. The architecture, the landscape-â
âThe people?â I question in a demeaning way with a smile on my face. I see Harvey tense and he licks his lips. Heâs uncomfortable. Good. Harveyâs hand goes to Mikeâs back, and I can tell heâs probably giving him a hidden pinch. Ooh, I know that hurts.
Thereâs an awkward beat of silence. âWell.â Donna clears her throat, âYou all should probably get going. Marshall is expecting you.â She urges.
âOk, thank you, Donna.â I answer chipperly and turn in the direction of the elevators. In the reflection of one of the associate's monitors, I see Donna mouthing something demanding at Harvey. He mouths back something along the lines of âI know, I know!â.
I walk briskly to the elevators and press the button; I donât even check if the boys are behind me. âSo, where are we headed?â I ask, but I keep my head straight, facing the closed elevator doors.
They say nothing until I hear what Iâm assuming is Mike giving Harvey a little arm shove. âDowntown-â Harvey starts, then clears his throat. I hear Mike stifle a chuckle. â-weâre meeting Donald Marshall. Heâs the company lead for Shilton Suites.â
Thereâs a ding as the elevator doors open. I step onto the lift and stand close to the buttons. Both boys hesitate to enter. âAre you guys⊠coming?â They are being so awkward, ugh, boys.
Harvey shoves Mike into the elevator before him, he gets pushed into the wall. Harvey stands shoulder to shoulder with me. âHow did you like your coffee?â
I think Iâve imagined his voice; he doesnât move his torso to face me or even glance my way. I donât answer right away, trying to process that Harvey is actually talking to me-not just a good morning. âItâs the best around.â He hums in a positive tone, and I see a small smile creep onto his face.
I hope he doesnât think weâre going to be besties after apology coffee, but I might as well throw him a bone. âLouis wanted to go buy me one from Roaster Roos.â
âRoaster Roos?â Harvey finally turns his body to me and has an offended look on his face. My heart flutters and I wish I could beat it down with a hammer. âGod, he has no idea what good coffee is.â He turns back to face the elevator doors, and I crave his gaze on me again.
I feel like Iâm running out of time to talk to him away from prying eyes. The dinging of the elevator as we steadily drop feels like a doomsday clock. âHe wants to take me to dinner.â I donât know why I said that.
Harvey stops next to me, and I hear Mikeâs strained breathing behind me. I forgot he was here. Once again, itâs quiet until he asks, âHow would your boyfriend feel about that?â Heâs playing the game- he wants to know if Iâm seeing anybody. Touche Mr. Douchebag.
How do I tell him Iâm single without being pathetic? âLetâs just say, Louis might have a fighting chance.â I shrug. âWhy? Did Louis not ask you to dinner when you first came to the firm?â I tease with a smirk.
His demeanor changes and he has a playful smile on his face, just like the good old days. âOh, please, Louis wishes he could handle all this.â He motions to himself. He still wonât look at me. I need him to look at me.
I smirk and eye him up and down till my gaze catches on his tie. Itâs crooked, I notice. A quick fit of confidence comes over me and I reach for it. At first, both hands are on the knot, but then the other lays flat on his chest while the other straightens the tie out.
Itâs just like it was in law school when I would get him ready for mock trials. Something so normal, so domestic, about fixing his tie. Finally, finally, he looks down at me. Weâre all but inches apart. I look up into his dark eyes and I feel⊠odd. His warm breath fans my face and I have to force myself away.
Harveyâs eyes stay on me this time. I can sense Mike looking between the two of us and thereâs another layer of awkwardness added to the lift again. âSorry, I-â
â-Hate a crooked tie.â He finishes my sentence. Of course, he does. I canât stop myself from looking up, and I know itâs a dumb thing to do before I even do it. Harvey is already looking down at me calmly with half-lidded eyes. I take a brisk look over the rest of his face (pause a little too long on his lips) and back up.
I move just a tad further away from him than I was when we first got in. What is wrong with me? I look towards the elevator buttons and keep my eyes strained there. My chest is rising up and down as I think about what Iâve done.
Thereâs a ding and the elevator doors open. I wait for him to step out so that I can collect myself, but he doesnât budge. I side-eye him and motion towards the door, âGo ahead.â
I can feel him looking at me, âLadies first.â He says and his voice makes my heart flutter. I look at him and heâs looking at me like Iâm a sick dog on the side of the street that he feels bad for. I bite my cheek and step out.
The whole way to the meeting spot for the client, Iâm a pace or two behind Harvey and Mike. Not just because theyâre tall and have long legs, either. At one point, I could tell Harvey had slowed his walking pace so I wouldnât be so far behind, but I resisted being any closer to him by slowing my pace as well.
I need to think. Iâve detested Harvey since we âbroke upâ, but Iâm within his vicinity for TWO DAYS, and I canât keep it in my pants! I watch his back as he walks and can picture the smooth skin beneath. That gets me thinking about his chest⊠the scratches I left on both⊠I shake my head, there is something seriously wrong with me.
We arrive at a parking garage and elevator up to the fifth floor. Luckily, this time I keep my mouth shut and my eyes far from his. The client is waiting for us on a fancy, cherry-red car.
âHarvey!â He shouts joyously. The guy is older with white hair, but he seems active and in good spirits. His gaze slides over to me and I feel like an object. My pace slows and I try to fade into the background despite his hungry eyes. âAnd who is this?â He looks his lips and I pray that itâs an unconscious habit.
âIâm Mike Ross.â Mike steps in the manâs line of sight. âIâm Harveyâs personal associate.â Thank God for Mike Ross.
But this guyâs determined. He nods boredly at Mike before motioning him to step to the side. Mike moves in stuttered motions and his eyes flicker between me and the client. I give him a face that says âWhat the fuck?â, and he gives me one back that says, âI donât know!â
âYou.â I look at the man and freeze. He smiles at me and goes back to leaning on his car, âWhat are you doing with this guy?â He nods his head to Harvey. I see his jaw clench out of the corner of my eye but otherwise doesnât move a muscle. âWith a face like yours, you could be on anyoneâs arm.â The implication is clear.
Just as Harvey opens his mouth, I say, âHeâs my boss.â I nod with a tight smile.
An idea floods into my brain and my previously uncomfortable posture straightens until it becomes arched. âYep!â I pop my lips and sway my hips as I get closer to the car. âUntil I get a client of my own, Iâm gonna be stuck with this guy.â I point with my thumb to Harvey. âYou wouldnât know a guy whoâd want to be my client⊠would you?â I bat my lashes down at him.
He's quiet for a second and I can feel him about to say something, but I want to make sure my answer is a yes. I slide onto the shiny hood of the car and partially lay on my hip. âCool car by the way.â I bat my lashes once more, but now Iâm looking up at him and I can tell heâs hooked.
âLove, Iâm sure people would get in legal trouble just to work with you.â He flirts and scoots closer to me on the car. Play it cool.
âY/n.â I hear Harveyâs stern voice behind me and slide off of the car.
The rest of the meeting goes without a hitch. The client, Donald Marshall, would occasionally throw in the flirty comment or look but Harvey would quickly interject. As soon as we got what we needed we headed out of the lot⊠Not fast enough to prevent Mr. Marshall from kissing my hand on the way out.
âWhat the hell was that?â Harvey asks as soon as weâre on the sidewalk. He puts his hands on his hips and appears to be fuming. âYouâre gonna flirt with my client- in front of me? I should write you up.â
âCall it what you want, Iâm going to have clients begging to have me represent them by the end of the week.â I pull out my cell to look up the nearest Ikea. I try to look unbothered, but my heart is racing.
âYou canât just flaunt yourself to get clients-â
I get in his face and shove my finger into his chest. âI can and I will do whatever I want to get me as far away from you as possible!â My words are laced with venom.
I hate him. Just because he still has those puppy dog eyes and sugary words doesnât mean he didnât lead me on and then tell me I was stupid to think there was something between us.
I breathe heavily and he does in return. There is fire in his eyes, and I donât want him to look at me like that- but I know Iâm looking at him the exact same way. âAs soon as I get my first client I wonât have to look at your sorry face and I can pretend youâre not even there.â I turn on my heels to the street and raise my hand to signal a cab.
I am so over Harvey Specter.

unrequited - harvey specter
now that i'm getting back into the hang of writing hopefully my work quality will improve from whatever this is
send fic ideas!!! all the love on my recent harvey posts is what's keeping me going
also i can only write angst because i am still desperately crushing on my coworker oops
~~~
Your relationship with Harvey was like a ticking time bomb.Â
You knew that you couldnât keep this up forever; your feelings for him were too intense. They kept you awake at night, and they kept you from being able to date other men you knew you could like if not for him. Your feelings boiled up inside you day in and day out, and you were forced to suppress them. Harvey Specter was not the relationship type.Â
You loved him too deeply to think the feelings would just go away one day. No, you would have to cut them off at the source. And that meant leaving not only your firm, but also the city in which you had built your connections, your career, your entire life. All to get away from the one thing you wanted so badly it was beginning to destroy the rest of your life.Â
He had so easily turned into the main character of your story; it was time to reclaim your position as the protagonist. But that meant outcasting him for good.Â
~~
When you first started at Pearson Specter, now Specter Litt, you were one of the few associates who Harvey had ever chosen to work directly with him. Years of watching and picking up on how he operated allowed you to grow to your full potential as an attorney at the firm, and for that, you couldn't be more grateful. Which is why even though you no longer worked very closely with him, having been promoted to junior partner, you knew he would be upset to hear your news of departure.Â
You didnât want to think about how you would eventually have to quit returning his calls and effectively ghost him to get on with your life.Â
You expected him to ask what you wanted in return for staying at the firm, and when you would turn down the offer, he would lash out at you. You would leave the office and wouldnât hear from him again until he called you a month later to check in. This was how it always went with him; it wouldnât be any different this time around.Â
Monday morning came around eventually, no matter how much you willed it wouldnât. Stepping into his office, you were rightfully nervous to broach the topic. âHarvey, do you have a minute?â
He glanced up at you from his desk before replying, âDo any of us around here have a spare minute?â You chuckled at his response and shut the door behind you.Â
âIâm serious.â He shut his laptop and turned to you. You sat down in front of his desk, hands fidgeting and eyes darting back and forth between him and the files on his desk.Â
âIâm here to give you my official notice.âÂ
The half-smile he wore when you first walked in shattered. It pained you to see, but you steeled yourself. You knew what to expect next; you just had to grit your teeth and bare through the conversation.Â
âIâve been working on finishing up my recent cases over the last few weeks, and so Iâm giving you my two-weekâs. Iâve already spoken to some of the other partners who have agreed to take over my cases going forward, and Iâll be giving notice to my clients this week.âÂ
He didnât say anything at all. Now that was uncharacteristic of him.Â
He soon gathered his thoughts. He averted his eyes as he told you, âNo need. Iâll waive your non-compete. You can take your clients with you to wherever youâre going.â He shifted his gaze back to you. âJust answer me this, what did they offer you?â
You didnât quite understand. âWhat do you mean?â
He had that serious look on his face, the one he always sported when he realized he was caught in a bind. âThe firm youâre leaving me for. What did they offer you to get you to leave?â
âHarvey, they didnâtâ Iâm notââ
âSenior partner? A higher salary? Because all of those things can be arranged for here, you know that. Just say the word.âÂ
He may have been upset, but he could not possibly have understood how difficult this was for you. His words the firm youâre leaving me for couldnât have been more true, you were leaving him; no matter how you tried to tell him, you reminded yourself he couldnât know that.
You paused a moment to exhale before telling him the truth. Â
âIâm not leaving to go to another firm, you donât need to waive my non-compete.âÂ
His lips parted ever so slightly as his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.Â
âIâm going home, Harvey. Iâm leaving for San Francisco.âÂ
~~~
He had no idea what you were talking about. Home? How hadnât this city become your home? This firm? Him?Â
You rendered him temporarily speechless. He tried to offer you more and more incentive to stay, but you refused.Â
âIâll double your salary. Iâll give you a bigger bonus than youâve ever seen in your life.â You declined. âIâll promote you. You can be elected a senior partner within the week, and Iâll pay your buy-in fee.â
Why was he trying so hard to get you to stay?
No matter how enticing the offers he made you might have been, you had one goal in mind: protecting your peace. Protecting your future from a man who would continue to take more and more parts of you until you were nothing apart from him. You had to leave before you couldnât find your way back without him.Â
âHarvey, Iâm leaving, Thatâs final.â You stood and began for the door.Â
âHow dare you?â You heard from behind you.Â
Suddenly angered, you turned back to him, âExcuse me?â
âAfter everything Iâve done for you, youâre leaving, just like that. Youâre going to drop everything just for some nostalgic memory of where you grew up?âÂ
âHow dare you! Donât you speak to me that way, Harvey. You have no idea why it is that Iâm leaving!â You yelled back at him, finger pointing in his face.Â
âSo tell me!â
âYou want the truth, Harvey? Iâm in love with you. And I will never escape you any other way. So forget my two weekâs notice. Iâll handle all my affairs from home. Youâll have my letter of resignation within the hour.âÂ
With what little dignity you felt you had left, you walked out of the room with your head held high.Â
~~~
He had no idea, obviously. Of course he felt a connection to you; he trained you, taught you how the world of corporate law worked.Â
How long had you felt that way? Is there something he couldâve done to avoid this whole situation? His most promising junior partner was leaving, and there was nothing he could do about it. It was his own fault entirely.
He was determined to get the chance to apologize when you came back with your resignation letter. He would straighten out the situation, explain that you could still work there. It wasnât the end of the world.Â
Of course, he got called away from his office for a period of time. The letter was there when he returned, and his hopes of keeping you were gone.Â
~~~
You knew that in the books, the idea of people saying things in the heat of the moment were common occurrences. You didnât think it could ever happen to you in real life, though. You intended for him to never discover this truth you hid from him. It was simpler that way.
But of course, you were wrong, and it all came out before you had a chance to bite your tongue. Now you had to clean out your desk quickly and say your goodbyes quietly.Â
~~~
Three months later, you were settling into your new position. Since you anticipated spending another two weeks in New York, you had a whole month between your resignation and the time you were expected to start in California.Â
You were finally starting to live your life more for yourself. You thought about Harvey less and less each day, until you could go out and meet another man without feeling like you were cheating on him. Crazy how you never got to call him yours, but still felt disloyal whenever you tried to go out with someone else while you were still in New York.Â
Although you didnât have the close relationship with your new supervisor that you had with Harvey, you felt welcomed and supported by your coworkers. You hated to admit that life was dull for a great number of weeks as you went through Harvey withdrawals, but it was true. Things were finally starting to get better until you got a knock on your door one day.Â
~~~Â
Youâd blocked Harveyâs number on your phone for a great many number of reasons. You never expected him to just show up at your new place, though.
âHarvey? What are you doing here?â you questioned.
âCan I come in?â You allowed it.
âYou havenât been taking my calls,â he pointed out to you, to which you replied, âI blocked you, Harvey. Why are you not in New York right now?â
âI needed to see you,â was his only response. And with just those five little words, all the work youâd done to get over him was erased. It allowed your mind to flood with ideas of him wanting you in any way other than professionally or platonically. Damn you, Harvey, you thought.Â
âFor what?â
âI want you to come back.â Unhelpful answer.
âWhy?â
âYou sure ask a lot of questions, donât you? I want you to come back because I trained you, and youâre an asset to the firm that weâre losing out on.âÂ
âSo youâre only here for a return on your investment in me.â
As you said that to him, he realized he fucked up.Â
âLook, I didnât meanââ
âYes! You absolutely did! You show up here, out of nowhere, telling me that you need my skills to benefit the firm, not that you might just want me to come back. Not that maybe I myself am beneficial to the firm, or even that you just miss me! God, can you really not acknowledge what I told you the last time I saw you?âÂ
He paused. âLook, I know what you said. Yet still, I came.â
âAnd what does that mean, exactly? That youâve suddenly come to terms with it and realized that you love me too?â
He didnât respond at all.Â
âIâm not coming back, Harvey. I need a life separate from you. I donât think thatâs too much to ask.âÂ
He shook his head in agreement. âIâm sorry I canât be what you need me to be.â He turned towards the doorway and saw himself out as the tears started welling up in your eyes. Â
Those were the last words you heard from him for a very long time.Â

Harvey and the reader get into an agrument (something juicy? About scottie?)at the office and she storms off.
And welcome to the perfect plot for part 2 of my mini-series! If you didnât read part one, here it is
I didn't really proofread this too much so if you see something that doesn't make sense, no you didn't <3
This part is angst but it does have a happy ending
Something More (p2)
Harvey Specter x Reader
âââ
It had been six months since that first night with Harvey, and ever since then heâd been nothing short of a perfect gentleman. He made it a point to always open the car door for you, made surprise dinner reservations after secretly checking your calendar, and you frequently came into your office to find flowers, breakfast, coffee, or just little notes from him. They were little things, but they were things that no guy had ever done for you before. You never exactly announced your relationship to the office, but everyone had mostly figured out that something had been going on.
"Oooh those are pretty, I wonder who those are from" Rachel teased as she walked into your office, nodding at the rather large vase full of flowers. She knew about you and Harvey, of course.
"Check out the card, it says it's from a secret admirer" You said, handing her the card that came with the flowers.
âFor the most beautiful woman Iâve ever seen, I am so lucky to know youâ she read the card aloud. "So I take it things are still going well with you two?"
"Honestly, things are really great. I know itâs pretty early still but, I canât help but feel like this is the real deal. We've been opening up a lot to each other, he's been really sweet." You gushed.
"That's amazing! How did it go after he told you about Scottie? I mean I don't even know how I'd react"
You were puzzled, of course you knew about Scottie, everyone in the office knew about her and Harveyâs former relationship. For Rachel to bring her up like this, something else had to have happened.
"Told me... what about Scottie exactly?"
Rachel's froze, realizing that Harvey in fact had not told you about the recent development regarding his ex-girlfriend.
"Um, she's going up against Harvey on a case. She'll be in the office this week for a deposition. I'm sorry Y/N, I really thought you knew." Rachel apologized, feeling awful she had to be the one to break the news to you.
Youâd known about his history with Scottie for a while now, heâd mentioned her to you and, through the work grapevine, youâd gathered that at one time Scottie meant the world to Harvey. The logical part of your brain knew that he wouldnât leave you to go back her, but the fact that he hid it from you that she was coming into the office, gave you a pit in your stomach anyways.
"It's ok Rachel, don't worry about it. On an unrelated note, I'm going to see Harvey. Thanks for letting me know." You said, standing and smoothing out your dress before marching down to Harvey's office.
He looked up too briefly to notice the look on your face before he spoke.
"Hey babe, sorry I didn't come see you yet today, I've just been swamped."
"So swamped you couldn't seem to find the time to tell me you have a case against Scottie?"
"Excuse me?"
"Harvey, why did I have to find out about your ex-girlfriend coming into our workplace from someone who isn't you?" You pressed further, the anger bubbling inside your chest.
The look on Harvey's face was one you'd never seen pointed in your direction before, but you weren't about to back down.
"I didn't tell you because I didn't think it mattered!" He said, raising his voice now.
"Why would you think that wouldn't matter to me? You had a serious relationship with her and she's opposing counsel on your case, that's something you should at least consider sharing with the person you're dating!"
"What exactly do you think is going to happen in that room? I have work to do during a deposition, and the last thing that would ever be on my mind is sleeping with another woman who isn't you!"
"It isn't you I don't trust Harvey! How do you not see that? I don't know this woman, how could you expect me to trust her? I know she was in love with you, and I know that things have heated up with you two during cases in the past. I don't understand how you're blaming me for feeling like this."
He sighed, clearly irritated. He focused his attention back on the paperwork he had on the desk, not even bothering to look up at you as he spoke. His voice was quieter now, but still every bit as angry.
"I can't believe you're being this insecure over something so stupid. If you can't believe me when I say that I wonât allow anything to happen between me and Scottie ever again, then maybe we shouldnât be together after all. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not that guy, and I thought you knew me better than that." He responded coldly.
You scoffed in shock. You couldn't believe he was actually serious in turning this around on you. Your stomach turned now.
"Insecure? Right, okay. You know what, why don't you call me when you have your shit together enough to figure out why I'm angry right now, and why that was fucked up of you to say." You said loudly, turning on your heel and storming off, back to your office.
You faintly heard him call your name as you walked, but you didnât dare turn back, and he didn't follow either.
Not two minutes after you returned to your desk, Donna was in your doorway, a sheepish look on her face.
"Donna, it wasn't your fault." You said, not giving her a chance to even blame herself.
"I know, but I should've known he hadn't told you. I told him you'd want to know, I just figured maybe he'd listen for once." She explained.
You sighed, your eyes landing on the vase of flowers from that morning. Tears threatened to fall from your eyes, but you were fighting them hard.
"For what it's worth, he may be an ass but I know he cares about you, more than anyone Iâve seen him with. He can't see anyone else now that he's with you, I really wouldn't worry about Scottie. Harvey shouldnât have said what he said to you, that was totally out of line. Heâll figure it out soon and probably come baring more flowers.â
The dam broke, and the tears fell. The hurt you still felt from Harveyâs words combined with Donnaâs reassurances were too much.
"Thanks Donna" You said, sniffling.
She gave a sad smile before letting you know she had to get back to work, leaving you with a âhang in thereâ as she departed.
You took a few deep breaths and wiped your tears before getting back to work, throwing yourself deep into your files. Maybe not the best coping mechanism, but it kept you busy enough to not think about Harvey. This worked for a little while, but slowly his harsh words would creep back into your mind, making you cry fresh tears all over again.
As time went on and the sun had long gone down, you felt your head start to pound. The time on your laptop showed 9:15 pm. You stretched a little, deciding to call it a night and head for home. It seemed that everyone else had left the office a while ago, if the silence of the halls rather than the typical hustle and bustle was any indication. The closer you got to the end of the hall, however, you heard music floating through the silence. If the office at the end of the hall belonged to anyone other than Harvey, youâd think this was the beginning of a ghost story about a haunted office building. The melody was somber. You walked forward, slower now, as you neared his office.
âShit, why is he still here?â You thought. âHeâs normally gone by 8 latestâ
You stood there in the hall only inches from his door, debating on what to do. You knew heâd see you when you walked by, and even if he didnât he would surely hear the elevator ding.
As you weighed the possible outcomes, you really had no time to react when you saw him suddenly walk out of his office, pausing too when he noticed you.
âOh, Y/N. Hey, I was just coming to see if you were still here.â
âI was just going home.â
âYour home? Or mine?â He asked, in a tone that sounded like he didnât want to know the answer.
Youâd been sleeping at Harveyâs many nights since you started dating, in fact you werenât even certain of the last time youâd slept in your own bed.
âMine. After what you said to me, I donât think I feel welcome at yours right now.â
It was only then that Harvey took in your appearance, and his heart dropped. You looked completely exhausted, the mascara on your eyes was long gone, and your cheeks and eyes were tinted red. He knew youâd been crying, and the look on his face was one of pure agony. He felt awful.
âI⊠Y/N Iâm so sorry. Iâm sorry I didnât tell you about Scottie. I just really didnât think youâd care since I know how much I trust you. I lashed out and I yelled at you, and I shouldn't have done that. I didnât think about your perspective, and Iâm just so sorry. I never shouldâve said that stuff to you" He said, slightly out of breath from his passion.
Tears openly fell from your eyes once again as you listened. You stepped forward, not responding. He reached for you, wiping the tears gently from your cheeks. You buried your face in his chest as he wrapped his arms around you firmly. He rested his chin on the top of your head, whispering how sorry he was.
âCan I kiss you?â he asked quietly after a moment of silence.
âPleaseâ
He didnât waste another second before locking your lips with his. The kiss was full of longing and despair.
âI thought I lost you, and it was all my fault. I've never felt like this about anyone else, and the second I realized what I did I felt sick that I made you feel that way. I didn't know what to do.â Harvey rambled.
âShhh, Harvey, Itâs okay now. Iâm right here, and I'm not going to leave you.â
He sighed in relief, closing his eyes briefly before opening them again and looking into yours.
"What did I do to deserve you?"
"It helps that you're handsome." You said, a smile growing on your lips.
Harvey chuckled, placing a hand on your lower back and walking you into his office so he could grab his stuff and lead you to the elevators.
"I'd love to have you over tonight, but I understand if you're not ready."
You smiled, grabbing his hand and kissing the back of it.
"If you want me to come, then I'd love to come over"
"Good. I don't think I could've gone another minute without you"

3x15. Mike confesses his job's offer to Harvey.
First reaction.
Jaw clenching. Harvey here is getting nervous because he doesn't know who Mike might have received a job offer from. At least, not one good enough to consider walking away from him.
Mike explaines. Look at his eyes. He doesn't want to get the offer, but he wants that Harvey is the one that asked him to stay.
First, he sees where the offer came and then he put aside his personal thoughts and try to do what is the best for Mike.
Look at him!!! He just wanted that Harvey said no. But he reacted like it was okay going away, and he is sad.
Mike is out.
Harvey can just let his pain out.
This is pure angst

I Want More. (1)
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
Pairing: Harvey Specter x F!Lawyer!Reader - friends to enemies to lovers <3
Summary: This will be a series! Part 1: (Y/n) and Harvey were 'together' during their time at Harvard, but Harvey couldn't commit to an actual relationship. They 'break-up', or whatever you do to end a situationship, and split on bad terms. Years later, after they become successful lawyers, their paths collide once again when (Y/n) takes a job at Pearson Hardman.
Warnings: commitment issues, angst, arguing - I think that's it but if you noticed something I missed, please let me know.
Word Count: 1784
A/N: I haven't written in a WHILE. Please, please, please constructive criticism. Also, there's, like, no Harvey fanfics. I think I read literally all of them soooooo... that's why there's this thing. Anyways, lemme know if you're interested in part 2 (I already started writing lol).
Harvey and I didnât used to be so distant. Once upon a time, while we were both attending Harvard, I was the person he went to practice flash cards to study for the bar. While I sat against my bed frame asking him questions off the cards, heâd lay on his stomach with his feet in the air. Seeing as we were both quick witted, weâd often get distracted and end with a battle of lighthearted jabs.
              And likewise, he was there for me when I had been stood up on a date with some frat boy. He ordered in some Chinese food and pulled a big tub of ice-cream out of my freezer. We sat on my goodwill couch picking apart the guy and making up some dumb unfathomable story as to why he hadnât texted.
              âI canât wait to hear the headline in the morning: Duke, whatever the hell his last name was, found having been thrown from his car in a head on collision right into a semi-truck loaded with rubber ducks.â He did a news reporter voice that didnât sound far off from how he normally talked. âLuckily, the ducks cushioned his fall, so he only suffered having lost his phone and missing out on the opportunity of a lifetime with the (Y/N) (L/N).â I repress my giggle but canât stop the goofy smile on my face. âWhat a loss.â
              âI mean,â I spoon more ice-cream into my mouth, âWho would name their son Duke? You can tell they wanted a dog.â He nodded along to that and all the other ridiculous things we talked about that night.
              But some friendships donât last forever. Especially, when you want more.
              We grew closer and had fleeting kisses often. Some borderline dates, but never anything serious. Never anything real. Not to him.
              âHarv.â I called his name from the couch after I heard the door to his apartment open and close. He walked through the door with a smile on his face. âHow was your day?â I asked, but I already knew the answer just by looking at his face. He had a mock trial set that day and absolutely crushed it. He was assigned the husbandâs attorney and was in charge of making sure that the wife got the minimum of what she was entitled to without having signed a prenup.
              After he boasted about his triumph, I applauded him. But he wasnât finished running his big mouth. And his next, one little comment, threw our relationship through a loop. âOne of the stupidest things a person can do is get married.â He smirked as he took of his jacket and started on his tie.
              I froze in my place on the couch. He continued getting comfortable and taking off his restricting clothes with his back facing me. My throat was tight, but I persevered, I had to make sure that I had heard him right. âYou think marriage is stupid?â
              I eyed his back feeling distraught. Every fiber in my being hoped and pleaded that he was joking, but my gut knew better. Moreso, it knew Harvey better.
              âMarriage, in my eyes, is an irrational vulnerability. Thereâs no point other than, I donât know, taxes?â He rambles on with his back still facing me. My heart clenches. âAnd even then, itâs not worth it. Divorce can ruin everything. A man, his family, hell, it can run an entire business into the ground.â
              My head was throbbing, and I couldnât help the hot tears that brim my eyes. âHuh.â I acknowledge. My voice feels raw already from holding back letting out any noises. âI didnât know you felt that way.â
              My voice must have given me away because Harvey flicks his head over his shoulder to spare me a glance before double taking. His eyes widen and his body tenses. He turned his body to me and takes a step in my direction before stopping in his tracks. A tear falls down my cheek and I feel burning hot embarrassment in my chest.
              âHoneyâŠâ He gently grabs me by my biceps and looks into my eyes. âWhatâs wrong.â His voice is smooth as he caresses my cheek and pulls my face into his chest. I let out a choked cry and he rocks me back and forth for a few moments.
              I feel ridiculous. âOh, itâs nothing.â I can tell Iâm not being convincing when Harvey pulls my face from his chest and gives that knowing look before putting it right back where it belongs.
              I had no idea what to say. How do you tell your kind-of-but-not-really-boyfriend that you had already planned what the centerpieces at your wedding would look like? That this was it. This was everything you wanted. He was everything you wanted.
              âEven if it was me?â I blurted it out before I could really think about what I was saying. He looked confused for a second but then his face went stern.
              âY/N.â All of a sudden, his delicate touch is a little heavier. âWeâre not even-âŠâ He cuts himself off and looks to the corner of the room. My mouth opened as I processed what he was too scared to say.   Â
              âYou donât want me.â My expression turned icy and I looked down. He let out a frustrated noise and pulled away from me. Though, I felt empty before he could even begin to move from my embrace.
              âThatâs not it.â His brows were furrowed, and he wouldnât look at me. Thatâs exactly it. I read his face and could feel he was holding something back. I was at a loss for words. I removed my body from the bed and let out an emotional scoff.
              I speedily walked into the bathroom, trying to make a plan. Any plan that wonât leave me anymore heartbroken than I already was.
Leave.
              It was my only option. I eyed the unused, small garbage bag next to the toilet and ripped it from its basket. âYâknow,â I suddenly felt his presence behind me. âI know youâre studying to be a lawyer and their whole schtick is lying and-â I started tossing my deodorant and face wash and every other thing I bought for his place into the bag. â-and withholding the truth.â I ranted in a demeaning voice. âBut I didnât think you would do that to me-â
              âWhat the hell are you talking about?â His voice was raised and his hands were out to his side in an exasperated way. âI didnât lie!â I didnât stop tossing things in, in fact Iâd finished my bathroom segment and moved on to his closet.
              âYouâre right- you didnât lie, you just kissed me, went on dates, and cuddled me! But, oh no, youâre right. Weâre not anything.â I growled as I tossed my spare shirts and pants from his closet onto the bed before stuffing them in my already bulging, see-through bag.
              He didnât yell, but he did have an icy tone when saying, âItâs not my fault if you convinced yourself there was something here when there wasnât.â I stopped trying to make everything fit into the bag. The next few seconds were silent as I let his words sink in. My heart had to have gotten heavier because it felt like it was in my gut. Either that, or I was about to vomit.
              All I could think was âget outâ. I couldnât look at him, fuck, my heart hurts so bad. I tie off the bag and walked from his bedroom into the living room and finally, slam his front door. I couldnât help but stop outside of it to try and listen for footsteps⊠but I heard none.
              So, I left. For the next few days, I spent my hours crying, sleeping, crying again and completely and utterly alone.
              I hardly saw Harvey again whilst I was at Harvard, thank God we were in different law classes. Of course, with an ego as big as his, it was impossible not to at least hear about him every once and a while. During graduation, I grimaced knowing that he was a few feet away with that million-dollar smile on his face. Never the matter, I put a smile on my face too and high-tailed it when the picture was over.
I moved back to the city I was born and raised, not too far from New York. I practiced as an associate for a while, but quickly climbed the ranks and made Junior Partner at the firm. I had mind blowing reviews and an amazing success rate that assured a job offer at whatever firm would have me. In fact, I worked so hard at my firm, that I reached the capacity of what they could pay me as a Junior Partner. I could either become Senior Partner or go somewhere else if I wanted to continue to grow my paycheck.
              And if I learned anything from Harvey Douchebag Specter, itâs that I should never settle. I set my eyes on the most successful firm in New York: Pearson Hardman. One over the phone interview and a quick glance at my numerous 5-star reviews, recommendations, and success rate-and I was welcomed to the Pearson Hardman family.
I rented an apartment not too far from the firm and began unpacking the few things I had. After paying off my student debt, I went on a spending spree, and I wound up with more than I could manage. After being knees deep in Dior, I had to offload some stuff. I packed everything I couldnât part with and donated everything else to be distributed to a few womenâs shelter. They couldnât contain their excitement and now Iâm a part of the state-wide organization. Funny enough how those things happen!
Either way, it was a fresh start, through and through. I had the bare necessities, and I was content. A shopping spree for some Ikea furniture was calling my name, though. The apartment was a literal husk up and would remain that way until I could find the time to go shopping.
Being in the city where I studied law and had some of the toughest years of my life made me emotional, but in the best way. Now Iâm back, and at least 3 times as kick-ass as before.
Of course, since Harvard, Iâd heard a comment or two about Harvey and what heâs been up to, but I tended to butt my head out, far away from his business. Iâm sure heâs somewhere still in New York, I mean, he loved this city- but New Yorkâs huge! Thereâs no way Iâll be seeing him anytime soon.

The Trials of Dating in Secrecy
Pairing: Harvey Specter x Reader
Word count: 2,374
Warnings: Discussion, yelling, some angst, workplace romance, nudity, and verbal sexual harassment (all very light).
Summary: Okay, so this one features a bit of work issues (workplace romance), and a bit of jealous!Harvey + Harvey taking care of his girl, as requested by Anon.
Disclaimer: I donât own the show Suits, or its characters, also not associated with it in any way, or know anyone involved with it.
A/N: Well this is the first request I took and Iâll admit that it was a bit challenging, not cause it was particularly hard but because I wasnât super inspired at first, nor did I have the time. Though, now, I think it worked? Idk, donât feel like this was my best work either but feel free to leave some feedback, and thanks for reading!

âSeriously, Harvey!â You let out annoyed. âI think I should probably go home now,â you said, thinking that if you did go home you could keep yourself from saying something you might regret later.Â
âOh, really? So now you're mad at me because Iâm simply asking a bit more of this relationship?â He asked, looking ready to have a full-on fight.
âNo, Harvey! What Iâm actually upset about is how youâre making today all about yourself and your needs, when Iâm the one going through it all!â You really didnât wanna shout but the little bit of patience you had left vanished when his questions reminded you of the little stunt heâd pulled today.
Earlier that day, at the firm, you had been giving a consult to a prospective client on an intellectual property lawsuit he may be looking at and the guy seemed a bit disinterested in his own situation, giving you â and by you, you mean your body â most of his attention. But that was fineish, it was a regular occurrence, being a young woman in that field, so you didnât really mind it anymore, at this point â after all, ignoring the occasional sexual harassment was usually the easiest route to advancing in your career. The problem was that the man started interrupting your professional analysis to hit on you, and eventually, he reached for your forearm, caressing it as he spoke. And that was exactly when Harvey, the man youâd secretly been dating for about 7 months now, decided to walk into your office. As he entered your office, you yanked your arm out of the manâs grasp but you couldnât shut him up just as quickly, so your boyfriend got there just in time to hear a âSo, if you really like yourself a sturdy stallion,â he pointed at a framed picture of you riding a horse on the wall behind you, âyou should ride mine, someday. If you know what I mean,â he finalized with a wink, and how on Earth could you â or anyone hearing that â not know what he meant when he had said it so suggestively?Â
âWhat did you just say to her?â Harveyâs voice came sharply, indicating he was about to get into a fistfight with the man who was probably not going to be your client now.
âOh, weâre just chatting about- uh, who are you, again?â The shorter guy had the nerve to ask.
After that, Harvey was so quick to hoist the man up from the chair in front of you, by the collar of his dress shirt, that you didnât even have time to react before he started punching the guy right in the face.
âIâm her boyfriend, thatâs who I am! And you will be out of here before I take you out myself.â The man didnât fall backward solely because Harvey had a hold on him, still, so he just stared at the other attorney in shock. âWhat are you looking at? Get out!â Harvey shouted once again, tossing the man towards your office door.
After that, you tried calming Harvey down but you barely had any time for it before Jessica and Louis barged into your office, revolted by their partnerâs behavior and asking what had gotten into him to attack a prospective client like that.
âThe prick was propositioning my-â But you cut him off before he could complete his sentence.
âHe was harassing me during the meeting, and Harvey walked in and heard it, and, as a good colleague, he wanted to defend my honor, I guess,â you said with a short, humorless laugh while making air quotes with your fingers.
âA good colleague?â The tall senior partner asked quietly, hurt pooling in his eyes.
âWell⊠Thatâs terrible but you know better than to do this, Harvey,â Jessica told him.
âYou know, Iâd never thought Iâd see the day you would act like such a caring gentleman for anyone, Specter,â Louis added, as always, eager to make things worse. âAnd, (y/n), at the very least you need to reach out to that man and take him out to an apology dinner. Because you are well aware of how important it is for you to get more clients.â
âYes, I-â You stopped what you were saying mid-sentence because the man you loved was storming out of your office and all you wanted to do was chase after him.
âAnd now youâre gonna let him get off with that shit he pulled this easy?â Louis shouted, obviously trying to be heard by Harvey too. âI mean, this firm is turning into a complete mess, Jessica! Itâs like you canât control your office anymore! A junior partner who barely has her own clients and a senior partner battering prospective clients? Weâre gonna go bankrupt like this, if not sued for malpractice altogether! And-â
âLouis, will you shut up, for Godâs sake? Iâm the managing partner and Iâll deal with both of them. Now go and let me talk to (y/n) alone!â Your boss responded, making you apprehensive about the conversation you were about to have with her.
As he left the room, Jessica motioned for you to sit on the couch with her. â(y/n), first of all, are you okay? Because if that man did something to you, thenâŠâ
âNo, no! The harassment was just verbal,â not that that made it any better, you thought to yourself. âHarvey intervened before it could get to that.â
âRight. Well, thatâs a relief.â She paused for an instant, giving one of those smiles she used when she was going to convince you of something unpleasant. âNow, as much as it pains me to admit it, Louis is right. You need more clients. I didnât think itâd be good to tell you this after our conversation but the board has been pressuring me about making personnel cuts. Directed mostly to the partners who arenât producing much. And you know that I like your work, and see your value to the company but those old men in suits only care about numbers, so if you donât manage to bring in a new client by the end of the week⊠I am going to push for you to go after that manâs account again. Using whatever means necessary.â She declared, still sporting that smile. âAre we clear?â
At that, a defeated âYes, Jessicaâ was all you could mutter. And then she left. And all you could think about was how youâd somehow managed to screw up both your professional and personal life, all at once.
Leaving work that day, after setting up four meetings with potential clients for the following days, all you could think about was making up with Harvey, so you went to his place to talk. And thatâs how you got to the argument you were having now. He was upset about the whole âgood colleagueâ thing and you were upset because you could have handled the situation without burning that bridge with the guy, which was multiplied by ten when you remembered that you were on deadline to get more clients â something you hadnât told Harvey.
âMaking it all about-â Heâd started saying angrily but stopped himself and his voice instantly took on a soft, caring tone, âwait, what do you mean youâre going through it all?â
Now you realized what youâd said.
âUh, I meant nothing. I was just being dramatic, is all,â you stated unconvincingly.
âNo, that doesnât make any sense. If anyone is dramatic in this relationship, itâs me and we both know it,â he said, making you crack a small smile, thinking of how right he was. âSo tell me, honey, whatâs going on?â
âI, um, Iâm being encouraged, or, better said, ordered to expand my client list.â There, youâd said it.
âWhat? Why?â
âYou know why, Harvey. You just canât be a partner at the firm if you donât bring enough money in.â You told him, defeated.
âBut⊠but youâre so good! You bring such good attention to the companyâs name, your clients might actually be more satisfied with your work than mine, and they are very satisfied with my work,â he said matter-of-factly with a grin on his face.
âYeah, maybe. But you might not know this because you've always been a man and Jessicaâs protĂ©gĂ© but for the rest of us, women trying to be successful at Pearson, the bar is just much higher, babe. And they're threatening to take away my partnership, maybe even my job altogether, if I don't get it done,â you finally finished your confession with teary eyes, even though you didnât want to cry about it.
âThatâs⊠thatâs just unacceptable!â He let out, running his hands through his hair, âDid- does Jessica know about that? Because I can-â He tried to go on with his speech but you cut him off.
âShe knows, Harvey. She says she likes my work but her hands are tied.â You let him know, sighing a little.
âBut⊠thatâs not⊠that doesnât make any sense! Itâs just not like Jessica to give in like thatâŠâ Harvey commented, starting to look defeated as well.
âMaybe when itâs about someone like you. But with me? She might not even be trying all that hard.â To which he responded with a mischievous glint in his eyes, perking up.
âThen, Iâll talk to her! Iâll tell her that, if she doesnât secure your place in the company, Iâm going to start listening to those offers I get all the time!â He said smiling widely this time.
âHarvey! You canât do that!â
âWhy not?â
âBecause itâd be incredibly stupid, and unprofessional, and-â You didnât wanna finish your sentence but you had to. âAnd, that way, sheâll know.â
âKnow?â
âAbout us. That weâre dating,â you finished sighing again.
âSheâll kn-â he stopped mid-sentence, full of disbelief. âAnd whatâs so wrong with that?â
âHarveyâŠâ
âNo, donât âHarveyâ me, (y/n)! If you donât want me to help because itâd be unprofessional, then thatâs okay. I can understand that. But what exactly are you trying to tell me, huh? That our relationshipâs never gonna see the light of day? Or are you trying to break up with me?â That last question came out of him in such a low tone you could barely believe had come from him.
âNo! Of course I donât wanna break up-â
âThen tell me what do you want? Because I donât understand why I canât tell the world that Iâm your boyfriend. I donât get whatâs so wrong about your boyfriend telling off a prick who canât keep his hands to himself around another manâs woman-â
âDo you seriously think now is a good time to be possessive?â
âOh, honey, I am possessive by nature. Especially around you,â he stated coming closer to where you were standing. And you could do nothing but welcome his warmth, after all, itâd been a long day.
As you stepped fully into his embrace and rested your head on his chest, you told him âI love you, Harvey. I donât wanna break up with you. And I want you to tell the world that Iâm your girlfriend, even Jessica,â hearing that, his eyes lit up. âBut, as much of a prick as that man was, you need to understand that I can handle myself and that you need to give me space to make my own way at work, just like you made yours.â
âYouâre right.â
âI know,â you joked, trying to shrug your shoulders at him.
âAnd I wonât try to interfere at work anymore. But donât think that Iâm just gonna stand around doing nothing if I see someone trying to mess with my girl again.â
âWell, that-â
âIâm not done yet,â he said, silencing you in an instant, âyou should also know that, when youâre home with me, youâre mine to take care of.â
âYeah? And how exactly do you plan on doing that?â You asked him with a smug smile.
His only response was swiftly picking you up and taking you to his suiteâs bathroom, where he gently sat you down on the edge of the tub, just to start running the hot water into the bath heâd already filled with delicious-smelling bathing salts. âWait here, baby.â
A bit later he came back carrying some candles he started lighting with one of the matches from a box he had in his other hand.
âWhat are you doing, Harv?â
âJust come over here,â he said after having spread the candles all throughout his spacious bathroom. They were scented too, you noticed. The second you reached him, though, instead of holding you close, he started taking off your clothes, slow and gentle, piece by piece. Which he followed up with little kisses all over your now bare skin. After being satisfied with his work of making you forget everything, he picked you up again and, this time, carefully dipped you into the bathtub. âNow, you just lay back and relax, darling.â
âYouâre not joining me?â You asked him hopefully.
âNo, Iâm taking care of your dinner,â right after he left, though, one of your favorite songs started playing softly on a speaker heâd set somewhere.
You probably dozed off in that tub, because before you knew it you were being held by your boyfriend in his bed, still completely naked. âHey.â
âGood morning beautiful,â he greeted you with a grin, âyou know, you were taking so long to wake up, that I was starting to think that the breakfast I made you was gonna get cold.â
âWait a second, last night you were making me dinner and this morning you made me breakfast⊠two for two! Whatâs happening to you?â You asked, giggling like a child.
âNothing, nothing! Itâs just⊠I told you, at home, I take care of you, thatâs all.â He told you while he guided you out of the bed, handing you one of his shirts altogether.Â
âYou know, you keep saying âat homeâ but this isnât really our homeâŠâ As you put on his dress shirt, you followed him towards his living room.Â
âIt could beâŠâ And thatâs when you saw a set of keys at the dinner table by the cutlery.

Warnings: Angst, Harvey being mean
âHey handsome,â Y/n said, a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips as she looked at the man she loved, whoâd recently been working himself to the bone for his new client.Â
âHey baby,â Harvey greeted back, looking up momentarily to smile at her before his eyes went straight back to the paperwork in front of him.
Her smile fell slightly.Â
This case had been a nightmare, and the client had been nothing but an arrogant, pain in the ass.
For the last month, Harvey had been working diligently on this case, but the last few weeks were when things got really stressful.Â
She didnât know why. She couldnât know why. Client Confidentiality and all, but sheâd seen a change in Harvey.Â
And this last week had been the tipping point, all heâd done for the past week was work; heâd barely even slept, and it showed, he was snappy with pretty much everyone, Louis, Mike even DonnaâŠof course Donna and Mike understood why, this case was huge for not just Harvey but for the firm too, but he needed a break.Â
Y/n tried to never intervene with Harveys work, she knew better than anyone how a case could take over ones life, she had fallen victim to it more than a few times, allowing the case and the clients to take precedence over everything else, including herself and Harvey was always there by her side, to pull her out of the work sheâd buried herself in so deeply.Â
Now it was her turn to do the same for him.Â
To help him the way heâd always helped her.Â
âItâs late,â she continued as she made her way into his office, stopping just a few inches away from his desk, âWe should go home.â
Harvey leaned back in his chair, a small sigh falling from his lips as he once again pulled his eyes away from his paperwork to look at Y/n, the dark circles under his eyes evident now that she was closer to him.Â
âYou go, Iâm gonna stay here,âÂ
âHarv-â
âIâm okay,â he assured her; with a smile she knew was fake.Â
Harvey was not someone who got stressed easily, in all the years sheâd known him, sheâd rarely known it to happen, and of course he would never admit that he âthe great Harvey Specterâ was in fact stressed and exhausted.Â
âNo youâre not,â she stated softly, moving around the desk so that she was standing next to Harvey.Â
Two lawyers dating was never easy, the long hours, the schedules, it was hard to spend quality time together but theyâd always managed it, no matter what was happening at work.Â
She missed him. She missed how his fingers would brush against her waist when he held her close, missed the forehead kisses he would give her just as she was falling to sleep, missed hearing his laugh when theyâd watch a shitty comedy show; she missed being close to him.Â
She knew it was selfish, but she couldnât help how she felt.
Being this close to him, she saw how big and dark the circles under his eyes were; if she had the strength sheâd just pick him up and remove him from the office, take him home and let him rest. But she was not that strong, so she was going to have to work on trying to persuade him.
She reached her arm out to him, placing her hand on his cheek, caressing it softly,âHow long has it been since youâve slept?â
A few moments of silence passed, before Harvey pressed a soft kiss on the palm of her hand, Y/n thought that meant that he was listening to her and that he was going to come home with her and get some much needed rest.Â
That was until Harveys hand lightly grabbed her wrist and placed it back into her lap.Â
âIâve got work to do,â he replied simply, turning his attention back to his paperwork.Â
Y/n took a deep breath, trying to work out what she could say to him that wouldnât aggravate him and would get him to listen to her.
âHarvey, you need to sleep,â she pointed out, the worry in her eyes growing with every moment that passed between them.Â
âI do sleep,â he answered bluntly; his tone catching Y/n off guard completely.Â
âNot for more than a few hours you donât,â she challenged back, it was going to take more then his blunt tone to make her leave.
Why wouldnât he just listen to her? Why couldnât he see that all she was trying to do was help? Why did he have to be so difficult?
âIâm fin-â
âNo youâre not,â
âSorry, when did you become a therapist?â He snapped, the fury in his eyes evident as he looked at her once more, âI said Iâm fine and I meant itâÂ
âLook, I know youâre tired but you canât keep snapping at people like this,â she reasoned, or at least attempted to. Y/n knew if he kept going on like this, he would end up making an enemy of everyone in his firm.
âI will snap at anyone who interrupts me from doing my goddamn work, and that includes you,âÂ
âYouâre not going to get any work done unless you rest properly,â she was trying so hard to keep her cool, to keep calm, he was exhausted and stressed, he was just snapping at her because she was there.Â
But she could feel her anger slowly beginning to build; she knew how he felt, she understood why he was acting and talking the way he was, but it didnât mean it didnât still hurt.Â
âWell youâre always pretty well rested and Iâm still a better lawyer than you,â
That. That comment felt like a slap in the face to Y/n.Â
She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down and stop herself from lashing out and adding fuel to an already growing fire.Â
âHarvey-âÂ
She didnât get a chance to finish her sentence, before he was already talking again, his pupils dilated and his tone harsh, âWhat? You want me to apologize for telling the truth? Thereâs a reason you work at Rand, Kaldor and Zayne and not here,â
And that was the tipping point. To get snappy at her was one thing, but to mock where she worked, her profession that she worked so hard for was another thing entirely.Â
She wanted to shout back at him and she was going to, until she realised there was no point; all her shouting would do would cause an argument, one where they just took cheap shots at each other until one of them said something they couldnât come back from.Â
She wasnât going to do that.Â
She didnât have the energy.Â
So she walked towards the door of Harveyâs office; only turning around to look at him and say one simple sentence. Her voice was a calm as she could get it, but it still had a hint of anger laced in it, âYou know why I donât work here,âÂ
And then she left Harvey.
Alone in his office.Â
And Y/n tried not to let her anger turn into tears as she headed towards the elevator, leaving the firm.
