I JUST GOT THE BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER

WHICH IS TO SAY THAT ONE OF MY FAVORITE FANFICTION AUTHORS HAS UPDATED ONE OF HER STORIES

She seriously updates one of her stories once every...7-8 or so months? The last time she updated one of her stories was in mid-July? But the chapters she writes are very lengthy, thank god.

I've been reading her stories since I was in 7th grade, so I'm used to her really infrequent updates. But yeah, if you happen to be reading this harvestgirl10, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING MY BIRTHDAY COMPLETE <333 She writes amazing Pokemon fanfiction! (Yes folks, I used to read- and still do on occasion- Pokemon FFN XD)

Why is it that every major plot point for Model Behavior comes to me while I’m driving? Almost like I don’t have a say in the story, it just writes itself.

Model Behavior AO3 Update!

Whew, I’m so happy to say I started posting the chapter rewrites for Ch 1-3 on AO3! It was definitely an experience going back into my old 2008 chapters, but I’m glad I did because some of the things I found (in my opinion) were a bit cringey. (I found a carmelldansen reference…dear god)

I didn’t do a full overhaul, in fact most of it is the same, but I updated the language and took out some inconsistencies that could throw off the flow of the story. For example, I cut back on the offensive language Shinji and Hikari sometimes used and also cleaned up some unnecessary writing.

It’s not terribly different, in fact I probably could have done more with the rewrites, but I was just so eager to start getting the chapters up on AO3. I’ll keep working at it! Once I get to chapter 6 or so I should be able to post the rest of the chapters without edits.

Thanks for still following this story, and for keeping your faith in me! I’ve come to realize this story is going to be far bigger than what I originally intended, and that’s so exciting.

I can’t wait to see it to the end!

Don’t Worry, I Didn’t Forget Model Behavior!

Life is just...crazy right now. But! I am happy to announce that I am transitioning my stories over to AO3 so while you can still catch updates on FFN, I will begin posting updates there as well ^_^ 

I will share the AO3 link for Model Behavior when it’s ready! Right now, I have the obstacle of rewriting the first few chapters so the writing is at least somewhat consistent with what it is now. (We’re talking like a 12 year retcon here...) 

But! I am so excited to still continue this story and for all of those who stuck it out this long, I hope you look forward to it:)

Model Behavior Bonus Content- The OC that matters.

Hi Everyone! I wanted to share a little more material on Model Behavior while I work on the next chapter so I thought I would share some insight on a special character in the story, Takeo. Hikari’s infamous superstar ex-boyfriend. 

When I was creating Takeo, I was super weary on introducing a character like him in the first place. I always get nervous introducing original characters who play a major role in the story because some readers may not resonate well with them as they would the canon characters. However, I decided to take on the challenge and try to make him as believable in the pokemon universe as possible ^_^ It was very important to find a name for him that no other character in the series had before ( correct me if I’m wrong) just in case a reader mixes him up with a canon character, so that’s how he found his name!

Takeo’s look greatly contrasts Hikari with his red hair and golden eyes. For reference, he resembles characters like Lavi from D. Gray Man ( with his hair down)  or Kagura Demuri from Aquarian Evol. 

I haven’t watched either series but maybe I should now! *o* lol anyway, Takeo’s role in the story is only going to grow the further the chapters go on ( not to spoil recent chapters, but this is already in motion). My goal is to expand his character more beyond the typical trope everyone I think is expecting and, hopefully, create a character that reader won’t just roll their eyes at. 

I just wanted to share a little about him to you all because only until recently, he was a mystery to me as well. Be on the lookout for future Model Behavior Chapters as more of his story is told :)

If anyone cares to know what song perfectly embodies “Model Behavior”and Dawn/Hikari’s internal conflict and grudges, this is it.

One of my favorite things about Hikari in Model Behavior is that she can be, quite frankly, not a nice person. She is incredibly flawed and broken from her past, and is so desperate to maintain appearances that although she doesn’t like it, she’ll do what she thinks has to be done.

And then as a result pays the price for it.

I really enjoy exploring this angle since usually Hikari is seen as the “sweet and good” partner in the ikari duo. Not the “tough bad guy”, a role that usually Paul/Shinji assumes.

Actually, by the time the events of Model Behavior roll around, Shinji has matured quite a bit where Hikari has not.

Can you guess by the song’s lyrics how the next chapters may go? I’m curious to hear your thoughts! And yes, be on the lookout for an update soon on FFN and AO3!
