Haruko In The SOOP Ep.3 : Rain In The SOOP
“What is it?” Seungcheol calls after he is woken up by Seokmin’s gasp in the kitchen.
“There’s a bug,” Seokmin says, walking back into the room.
“What kind of bug?”
“A spider...” Seokmin mutters. Haruko begins to stir slightly in her sleep.
“My goodness,” Seungcheol sighs, thinking there was a bigger problem.
“It’s too big,” Seokmin says.
“Is it raining?” Seungcheol asks, looking out the window. “Haruko will want to play in the rain.” He turns his head back to Seokmin. “How big is it?” Seokmin raises his hand to show how big it is before gesturing if Seungcheol will catch it for him. Seungcheol shakes his head.
“Where did it go?” Seokmin asks, trying to find the spider again.
“What?” Seungcheol asks, standing up from his bed. As Seungcheol stands up, Haruko begins to fully wake up, same as Wonwoo. “Is it gone?”
“It disappeared.”
“What...?” Haruko asks, very disoriented.
“This feels so unsettling. That spider is so annoying!” As Seokmin walks back into the main room. Haruko is sitting next to Wonwoo, on his bed, wrapped in her blanket. Wonwoo and Seungcheol are also sitting on his bed. “Why can’t I even catch one spider?” Seokmin asks no one in particular. Haruko smiles at his comment.
“How come you can smack Hoshi with no problem, but you can’t even catch one spider?” Seungcheol asks him. “I’m going to get some more sleep.”
“Me, too,” Haruko says, moving back over to her bed and getting comfortable again.
As Seokmin continues looking for the spider and then sees it again, causing him to call for Wonwoo to get it, Haruko ignores them, trying to get back to sleep.
Haruko is shown again after Wonwoo has successfully gotten the spider. After Seungcheol has stolen Wonwoo’s spot in Jeonghan and Seokmin’s bed, Haruko walks up to their bed before flopping down in between them. She curls up to Jeonghan more than Seungcheol.
After Seokmin, Joshua, Vernon, and Seungkwan have eaten their food, Haruko is next seen walking into the room with a couch along with Jeonghan. She sits on the couch in between Jeonghan and Wonwoo.
Haruko didn’t eat breakfast in the morning as she wasn’t hungry. Instead, she went down to the camping site and read her book with Wonwoo, who was also reading.
When Minghao comes around with his tea, Haruko puts her book down and just listens to their conversation calmly. She joins in sometimes, but she really is just listening contently, pleased by their presence.
When Jeonghan and Mingyu are in the boat in the large pond, Haruko whips her head around when she hears their yells. “Let me go check on them,” Wonwoo says. “I’m coming, too,” Haruko says after. She follows him over to the viewing point where they just watch Mingyu and Jeonghan struggle. She is giggling lightly until their boat starts to fill up with water. Then, she starts laughing loudly and clapping like Wonwoo.
The two of them then go onto the bridge to get a better view of the commotion. They both take photos and videos. Haruko cheers them on while laughing.
When Jun makes his jokbal, Haruko comes to eat it along with Minghao. She and he eat a lot together because they are both very hungry. “Wa, Jun oppa, this is so good,” Haruko says. After they finish eating, Minghao shows Jun their bowl of bones. “Wa, you two and Vernon ate so much,” Jun says. “It’s too good,” Minghao responds.
After Minghao and Haruko’s meal, Haruko is in the playroom with Jeonghan, working on their Legos. When Hoshi and Woozi come into the playroom to use the gym, Haruko gets curious.
“Yah, can I try it?” Haruko asks about their weighted squats.
“Yeah, go ahead,” Hoshi responds. Haruko gets up from the floor and goes over to them.
“How do I hold it? Like this?” she asks as she rests the bar on her shoulders and grips it with her hands.
“Yes, like that. Keep your chest open. Lift,” Woozi guides. Haruko lifts the weight on her shoulders and takes a step away from the bar.
“Wa, Haru-yah...” Jeonghan trails off, impressed by her ability.
“Keep your lower back straight. Slowly,” Woozi continues. Haruko does as she is instructed, slowly bending her legs and trying to maintain her posture. “Then go up.”
“Wa! That is so hard,” Haruko proclaims as she stands up fully again.
“Right?” Hoshi agrees.
“That’s how it should be,” Woozi states. Haruko puts the weight back on the bar with the help of Hoshi because it was too tall for her to bend down to put it back up.
“You guys are really strong for that,” Haruko exhales.
“Can I try?” Jeonghan asks from the floor couch.
“Go ahead,” Woozi replies. Jeonghan goes next and gets the same instructions as Haruko did. He also comments about it being difficult. Haruko encourages him as she does his squat.
“Good job,” Haruko smiles at him. Haruko then goes over and grabs some small hand weights off the floor. She starts doing some curls, counting as she does them. The other three boys smile at her and encourage her as she does them. Hoshi whines when she puts them down after her eighth curl, saying they are too hard.
When night falls, Haruko is back in her treehouse, reading her book on the couch by the window. She has a small candle lantern on a table behind the couch that is offering her some light to read.
“Guys, I thought it’d be cool if we played a game at the play house together,” Seungcheol suggests to everyone in the room singing.
“Let’s play Mafia,” Joshua responds.
“Sure, let’s play a round,” Woozi agrees. Since Haruko is not in the room, she does not know about the game that is going to take place.
“Dino-yah?” Seungcheol gains his attention.
“Can you go and get Haruko?”
“Yes.”
“Thanks,” Seungcheol replies. Dino goes outside in his slippers to Haruko’s treehouse. He goes up the ladder.
“Noona?”
“Yes?” Haruko answers, putting her book down.
“We’re going to play Mafia in the playhouse,” Dino informs.
“Okay. Ill go down in a second.”
“Okay,” Dino smiles before starting to go down the ladder again.
“Wait!” Haruko exclaims.
“What?” Dino freezes on the ladder, waiting for her to continue.
“Do you want to go down the zipline?” she offers.
“Can I?”
“Of course!”
“How do I do it?” he asks, climbing back up the ladder and going over to the zipline.
“You just hold onto that,” she points to the bar.
“Okay.”
“Go! I don’t want to miss the game!” Haruko yells. Dino goes down the zipline quickly. He cheers as he goes down, causing Haruko to smile and laugh as she watches him. Once she sees that he is off, she pulls the string to bring the handle back up to the treehouse. She bookmarks her book, blows out the candle in the lantern, and goes over to the zipline again. She puts her book in her mouth once again, adjusts her glasses, grabs the handle, and jumps out of the treehouse, down the zipline.
“That’s so cool!” Dino exclaims once she reaches the bottom.
“I know! I love going down it.” The two youngest start jogging to the playroom for the game.
Haruko sits on the floor couch between Seungcheol and Vernon.
“The morning has dawned,” Dino announces. Everyone raises their heads.
“That was tiring,” Mingyu states.
“Okay. Kim Mingyu is the mafia member,” Hoshi declares.
“Seungkwan is the mafia member,” Jeonghan says.
“Kim Mingyu and Boo Seungkwan are mafia members,” Hoshi sums up.
“And Choi Vernon.” Haruko leans away from them, towards Seungcheol, as she doesn’t want to get caught in their trouble. The others laugh at her reaction. Seungcheol wraps his arm around her.
“It’s Haruko!” Seokmin shouts when everyone is throwing out names of who the mafia members could be.
“Why?” Haruko calls back.
“Because you’re acting cute to Coups hyung. You’re trying to seem nice.”
“She always does that,” Seungcheol states blankly, causing the others to burst out laughing.
“Yes, but...” Seokmin tries to continue.
“What?” Haruko challenges. Seokmin trails off before giving up.
“She’s the mafia.”
When everyone starts to accuse Seungkwan, Haruko votes to get him out, as she doesn’t want there to be a risk that she could also go out later. She has a mischievous smile on her face when Dino announces that Seungkwan is out.
“A villager has died.”
Haruko looks shocked, sitting up from where she was leaning on Seungcheol. She starts to laugh and clap like the others.
“Is it Haruko?” Jeonghan questions after Vernon is killed by the mafia.
“You know, maybe it is,” Minghao considers.
“Everyone next to her keeps dying!” Seokmin points at her.
“That has nothing to do with me! The first one was killed by vote!” Haruko defends, making everyone laugh again.
“Vernon was next to you!” Jun shouts.
“Any one of you could be the mafia! What if it’s Mingyu?” Haruko gestures to Mingyu, who is now next to her, as Vernon and Seungkwan have both moved off of the couch.
“She has a point,” Minghao starts. “But it’s still you!” Haruko scoffs obnoxiously, glaring at Minghao and Seokmin while the other members are laughing loudly.
“I just feel like it’s either Coups or Mingyu,” Joshua speaks up. Haruko doesn’t say anything; she just nods, shooting Joshua a finger heart for trying to convince the others that it’s not her.
“I pick Mingyu oppa,” Haruko says when choosing who to vote for. Haruko ends up getting three votes, one less than Wonwoo.
When everyone decides not to vote for Wonwoo and instead vote for Jun quickly, Haruko votes to kill him.

Haruko In The SOOP Ep.1 : First time taking such a time off...
“As soon as we arrived in the forest, I instantly felt calm. It reminded me of the forest I used to play in when I was a child,” Haruko is heard in her voice-over.
“When I first started as a trainee, I had to move here from Japan and live with my aunt. I was in third grade. I was nine,” Haruko says in her solo interview before lightly laughing.
“Hello!” Haruko greets the camera as Seventeen walk into the parking garage. She is wearing a mask, but you can still tell that she is smiling by the way that the edges of her eyes crinkle up. She does a finger heart.
The camera cuts, and Haruko takes a selfie with Jun, Mingyu, and Seungcheol before getting in the car. Haruko also brought her bike on the trip. It’s on top of their car, along with Seungcheol and Mingyu’s bikes.
“Mingyu, Haruko, let’s bike around a lot there,” Seungcheol says as they drive.
“Yes, let’s bike one hundred kilometers,” Mingyu responds.
“Let’s do it!” Haruko exclaims.
As the SOOP comes into view, Haruko has the biggest smile on her face. As they get closer, Haruko is bouncing in her seat. Mingyu looks away from his own window to the girl with a slightly concerned smile.
“Yah! Don’t kick my seat!” Seungcheol calls, looking at her in the rearview mirror.
“Sorry!” Haruko answers, stopping her excited movements abruptly. Mingyu looks at her for a moment before laughing, soon causing the others to laugh, as well.
Haruko is one of the first ones in the playroom. She kicks her shoes off by the door before almost running inside. She goes over to the floor couch first to see what’s around it.
“There’s board games!” Haruko shrieks, pointing to the assortment of board games on the side of the room. Jeonghan looks over at her fondly from where he is sitting next to her.
“Can I have a treehouse?” Haruko asks the staff when all of the Seventeen members were being asked what they wanted to have in the SOOP. Her question surprises the other members. They all quickly look at her and laugh loudly, not expecting that to be what she wanted. Haruko has a big smile on her face.
“Didn’t you ask for this, Wonwoo oppa?” Haruko asks, pointing to the large telescope in front of them.
“Yes,” Wonwoo answers.
“Wait, does that mean I have a treehouse?” Haruko thinks out loud. She quickly turns around and runs out of the playroom, not bothering to wait for someone to answer her question. She almost bumps into some of her members on her way out. “Sorry!” she calls in response to her actions. She continues running outside without any shoes on and looks around. “Where is it?” she asks as she continues walking around the playroom. She walks around the back of the house before squealing in excitement. “Oh, my god! I love it!” she chirps before turning around and facing the camera with a huge grin on her face. “Thank you, PD-nims. I’ll use it well,” she says.
“Wa, it’s bigger than I thought it would be,” Woozi comments, coming outside with Jun.
“And there’s a zipline?” Jun points.
The treehouse has a tall ladder leading up to it with about twenty steps. The actual treehouse is a big room furnished with bean bags, some small couches, and small chairs. There are some snacks inside, along with other decorative and fun things.
“I’m so excited! I’m going to spend all of my time there!” Haruko gushes, still looking up at the treehouse. She has a massive smile on her face before turning around and going back over to the playroom, wanting to see what else is in it. The members who came outside after her stick around for a moment longer before also going back inside. Haruko walks funny back inside as she has no shoes on. Woozi snickers at her.
“It’s almost kind of mean to bring us here. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love it. In fact, I love it so much that I know I will be really sad to leave,” Haruko says in her solo interview. She smiles and laughs lightly.
“I can sleep anywhere. I’m fine anywhere,” Haruko says when deciding who sleeps where. “S.Coups, Jeonghan, Dokyeom, Wonwoo, Haruko will be at the upper house. And we need three more... Jun,” Seokmin announces as they are still deciding who sleeps where.
After deciding, Haruko takes off her makeup quickly and runs her hand through her hair a few times. She doesn’t change her clothes as she traveled in comfortable clothes already.
She walks out of the house past Dino and continues outside to see Seokmin and Mingyu at the brick oven.
She goes over to them. “Are you guys making the brick oven?” she asks. “Yes,” Seokmin responds with a proud smile, pointing to the partially made brick oven. “It looks good,” Haruko smiles. “Thanks,” Mingyu smiles back at her. “Call me if you need help,” Haruko jokes. Mingyu and Seokmin laugh. “Fighting!” she encourages before continuing to walk in the direction of the dining hall.
“I’m hungry~,” Haruko sings as she walks into the dining hall to see Minghao, Jun, Hoshi, and Woozi eating together. “Come eat,” Minghao says. “Did you make shabu shabu?” she asks. “Yes, you can have some,” Minghao responds.
“Wa, it’s so good!” Haruko exclaims with a mouth full of food. “Don’t talk with your mouth full. You can praise our cooking after,” Minghao scolds lightly.
Haruko is mentioned when Jeonghan, Wonwoo, and Joshua are in the playroom together. “The reason I haven’t taken out my blocks yet is because there are so many parts. If someone walks by and a part disappears...” Jeonghan trails off. “You’re right,” Joshua agrees. “If you worked with Haruko, she would make sure that no one got near it until it was finished,” Wonwoo states, making the other two laugh. “You’re right,” Jeonghan responds.
After Haruko finishes eating, she goes outside to see Seokmin trying to split the firewood with Minghao’s assistance.
“Right on!” Haruko cheers as Seokmin hits the firewood with the axe. She stands next to Minghao and cheers with him.
“Haru-yah, you should try,” Minghao suggests.
“Can I?”
“Go ahead.” Seokmin hands her the axe, and she walks over to the wood on the stump. As she holds the axe, Seungcheol walks up to them. “Okay! Let’s go!” Haruko raises the axe and swings it down. She goes slightly off-center and only ends up getting a third of the wood cut off. Minghao, Seokmin, and Seungcheol cheer for her.
“Woo! Our Haruko!” Seungcheol cheers while clapping his hands. Haruko looks back at them with a grin.
“Coups oppa, you try,” Haruko says as she hands Seungcheol the axe.
A little later, Haruko is in the playroom with Jun, Wonwoo, Minghao, Jeonghan, and Joshua. She is sitting between Jeonghan and Joshua and is helping Jeonghan with his Legos.
“Look over there,” Jun says, pointing to the window. Haruko looks up to see what he is talking about. She sees Seokmin and Mingyu blowing wind into the brick oven outside. She smiles at them, laughing lightly as they struggle.
After Seungcheol goes outside to help them, Haruko ventures outside with Jeonghan, Wonwoo, and Jun to see.
“Right on! Keep going, Dokyeom oppa!” Haruko cheers as Seokmin blows air into the fire with the spinning thing.
When Mingyu is cooking the Tomahawk steak, and Hoshi is blowing the “Kwon fire”, Haruko goes outside again with Jun, Wonwoo, Joshua, and Jeonghan as they had gone inside again earlier. She doesn’t stay out for long before going away with Jeonghan and Joshua back to the playroom. She offers them a few cheers before leaving.
When the three of them come back, the first piece of meat is cooked. Haruko jogs over to them, in front of Joshua and Jeonghan.
“Can I have some?” she asks as Mingyu is cutting the meat.
“Go ahead,” the tall boy answers. Haruko grabs a piece of the cut-up steak with her fingers before putting it into her mouth. Her face scrunches up as she holds her mouth as far apart as she can while still keeping it shut.
“What’s wrong?” Seungcheol asks, judging by her expression.
“Hot,” she mutters weakly. The others laugh at her. She holds her mouth open with a hand covering it to try and cool down the food. Once it is cool enough, she finishes eating her piece. “It’s really, really good!” she smiles with a thumbs up.
Haruko is shown briefly at the end once the Tomahawk steak in the brick oven is finished and is being carved. She comes outside with Wonwoo after going inside again.

Haruko In The SOOP Ep.8 : Ready to SEVENTEEN
Haruko is first seen arriving in the dining hall when Jun, Seungcheol, Jeonghan, Minghao, and Hoshi are there.
“We have no one to cook for us,” Seungcheol states. Then Haruko walks in.
“Our savior!” Jeonghan cries.
“What?” Haruko asks, confused.
“Can you cook for us?” Hoshi asks.
“Sure,” she laughs. “What should I make?”
“How about garlic fried rice?” Seungcheol suggests.
“Okay.”
“I’ll chop the garlic cloves for you,” Jeonghan says.
“Thank you.”
When Seungcheol complains about how much he is helping while Haruko is cooking, Haruko glares at him.
“Yah! I'm making this for you. Be thankful!” she yells. Minghao laughs loudly at them while Seungcheol is stunned.
“Okay,” Seungcheol states, almost with a scared tone in his voice. This makes Minghao laugh more as Haruko’s stern expression breaks, and she smiles at Seungcheol.
Once Haruko is done cooking, everyone comes to try her food. They all tell her it is delicious.
“How come you didn’t cook every day?” Dino asks. Haruko laughs at his comment.
Once she is sure that everyone else has some, she takes a bit.
“It’s actually pretty good,” she agrees with her members.
“See!” Jeonghan exclaims.
“You always cook well, Haru-yah,” Seokmin reassures.
After Dino, Jeonghan, Mingyu, Vernon, and Seungkwan eat, Haruko finds Jeonghan and goes on a walk in the forest with him and Dino. Wonwoo follows them, as well.
“I’ve been wanting to do on a walk in the forest since we got here, but I always forgot and did other things,” she says as they walk.
“When I was a child, I didn’t use to live too close to the forest. But I would always go when I had the chance, even if I had to walk for twenty minutes. It was just a great escape. It always calmed me down. The SOOP reminded me of that,” Haruko says in her interview.
Later, there is a clip that shows Haruko and Woozi riding the ATV together. They both have huge smiles on their faces. Woozi is the one driving.
“The ATV was so much fun. I really love things like that. Motorcycle riding, horseback riding, bike riding. Just things like that,” she says in her interview.
Once they are ready to leave, Haruko arrives in the playroom. She plops her bag on the ground and sits down next to Jeonghan.
“I don’t want to leave,” she states. Jeonghan laughs at her and rubs her head as she rests her head on his shoulder.
“I don’t want to, either.”
“I knew when we came to the SOOP that we wouldn’t want to leave. I don’t want to leave. Everything is so calm here. I hope that we can try to live in a more relaxing way once we’re back in Seoul. We should try to maximize our relaxation time with each member,” she says during her interview before leaving the SOOP.
“I don’t want to leave~!” Haruko whines. “Let’s stay here, Wonwoo oppa,” she says, now lying on him.
“Bye, In The SOOP!” Haruko waves as they leave.

Haruko In The SOOP Ep.5 : Campfire
As they all gather around the fire to make a song, Haruko is holding her ukulele. “I thought you didn’t bring any instruments?” Mingyu asks. “So did I; turns out I did,” Haruko responds. Her comment makes the others laugh.
In the flashback to the first episode when Hoshi, Mingyu, Woozi, Seokmin, and Joshua are making a song together, Haruko arrives with Seungcheol. They both take a seat on the floor. Haruko leans on the bottom of the couch, sitting next to Woozi’s feet.
As they sing “In The SOOP” over and over again, Haruko just smiles, finding the song funny.
When Dino arrives to make the guide track, Haruko’s smile grows. She is excited to see what will happen.
As Dino sings, Haruko is grinning from ear to ear. She moves to lay next to Seungcheol on the floor, still smiling.
As Dino ends the song, Haruko bursts out laughing like the others and claps.
In the present time, around the fire, Haruko is playing her ukulele. She has matched the melody with the others and plays calmly. She doesn’t look as she plays because she is comfortable enough with the ukulele to know how to play without looking.
Haruko is smiling as Dino begins to sing and make the chorus simultaneously. Haruko sings a little bit just by holding Dino’s notes a little longer at the end of each line. She doesn’t do it too loudly so as not to overpower Dino.
“Yah, this is the kind of song where you-,” Haruko cuts herself off before standing up. “Where you dance like this.” She starts to move side to side, her feet meeting each other with each calm step. She adds a snap on each side while she hums the melody. The others burst out laughing at her dance because it is so accurate. Haruko smiles brightly before sitting back down, laughing with the others.
As they make progress with the song, Haruko adds some melodies as they sing. Just some delicate notes in the background.
“How about, In The SOOP du ru ru du ru ru?” Haruko sings.
“I like that!” Mingyu exclaims.
“That sounds awesome!” Joshua smiles.
When they record their full draft, Haruko sings throughout with a smile. She is still playing her ukulele happily.
“Members~!” Seungkwan calls as he arrives back at the SOOP.
“Seungkwannie?” Haruko whips her head around to see who is calling. “Seungkwan!” She stands up excitedly. The others follow her and start to cheer Seungkwan’s name, as well, going over to him.
They all welcome Seungkwan over to their fire and sit together. When Seokmin tries to open Jeonghan’s beer with a fork, Haruko is smiling and happy.
“I want to try,” she says, taking the still closed bottle from him. She tries to pry it off, and her face scrunches up from using her strength. The others start to cheer her on.
“Let’s go, Haruko!” Hoshi cheers. She pushes a little harder, and the cap flies off the bottle. She raises the bottle with a grin and cheers. The cheers from the others grow louder.
“That must’ve hurt so much, didn’t it?” Jeonghan asks.
“No, it doesn’t hurt, but the fork bent,” she responds.
“It didn’t hurt. Wa, our Haruko is strong,” Jeonghan states pridefully. Haruko smiles cutely at him.
“I want to drink beer!” Haruko pauses for a moment. “Actually, I want whiskey. Do we have any whiskey?” The others laugh at her change in emotions.
“Yes! I brought some!” Jun pipes up.
“Really? Where?”
“It’s in the dining hall on the shelf near the floor,” Jun explains.
“I’m going to get some.”
“Okay.” She gets up and goes to the dining hall, finding a nice bottle of whiskey that piques her interest. She pours herself a glass and walks back out, finding the others talking about being child-like.
When they move to the play room, Haruko sits next to Seungcheol.
“You’re at the top with three million views,” Jeonghan says to Mingyu when looking up Seventeen fancams. “Ah, here's Haruko-yah with six million!” Joshua corrects, looking over Jeonghan’s shoulder. “Why does Mingyu have so many views? He’s not that handsome, in my opinion,” Jeonghan says. “No, Mingyu is handsome,” Seungcheol disagrees.
“Let’s vote on the most charming member, then!” Seokmin announces. “Let’s start with Haruko,” Jeonghan gestures to her. “Who’s charming? I pick Dino,” Haruko says. “I pick Haruko,” Jeonghan says. “Ah, why?” she asks. “You’re always putting on a smile even when things are hard and offering us support even when you need it yourself,” Jeonghan explains. Haruko smiles with a sentimental look in her eyes. “I love you,” she says.
“They helped raise me and become the person I am today. I’m so thankful for them. I’m not the closest to my family, but Seventeen really are my family now. They mean more to me,” Haruko says in her interview.
As Jun sings Lie Lie Lie on the karaoke microphone, Haruko looks at him with an admiring smile.
As they have their karaoke party, Haruko is smiling a lot and is just really happy. She sings enthusiastically and is very happy.
The next morning, when Mingyu’s loud alarm goes off, Haruko still doesn’t wake up, even though she is very near to it. Haruko is a really heavy sleeper.
“Wen Junhui!” Mingyu calls. “Yes?” he answers. “Are you up? We should go,” Mingyu says. “Okay, what time is it?” Jun asks. “It’s 12 PM,” Mingyu answers. “Ah, our Haruko is still sleeping,” Jeonghan smiles as he walks towards her bed. “She wanted to come too, right?” Jun asks. “Yes,” Mingyu confirms. “Should we wake her up?” Jun asks. “I’ll do it,” Jeonghan says.
“I’m so excited. I love fishing,” Haruko getting in the middle back seat of the car with Wonwoo. “Ah, really? S.Coups hyung said that,” he responds.

Haruko In The SOOP Ep.4 : SOOPKET LIST
When it is announced that Jeonghan was killed by the mafia, Haruko is shocked. Her mouth falls open as she looks at him.
“Alright! I’m the police officer. Wonwoo, Shua, come here. Come here, I checked you two,” Seungcheol says, ushering them over to him. The ones sitting across from Seungcheol start to argue that Haruko and Mingyu aren’t checked, so they have to move. “You can go over there,” Seungcheol says to Mingyu and Haruko. Haruko pouts before being pulled up by Mingyu. She trudges over to sit between Seokmin and Jeonghan. She rests her head on Jeonghan’s shoulder, and he strokes her hair.
Haruko stays quiet besides some giggles when Mingyu and Hoshi keep trying to convince the others that the opposite one is the mafia. Her quietness makes the others forget that she is still playing and that she’s not out.
After Minghao, Woozi, and Hoshi are voted out, it’s night again.
“Mafia, wake up,” Dino says. Haruko slowly raises her head and opens her eyes. Hoshi starts silently laughing while Haruko smirks at him. “Pick someone to eliminate.”
A compilation then shows of how she reacted during the game and continuously made the others go against their beliefs of initially thinking that she was the mafia. Her cute actions in the beginning paid off.
Haruko points to Seungcheol. “Alright, it’s been decided,” Dino finishes. When it is Seungcheol’s turn to investigate, he chooses Seokmin, to which he gets told that he is not a mafia. He looks slumped and moves his head to the side while pursing his lips. When Mingyu chooses to save Seungcheol, the others are shown putting hands over their mouths as they know that Haruko is in a bad position.
“The morning has come,” Dino announces. Everyone raises their heads. “No one died.”
“I checked Dokyeom-ah; he’s a citizen,” Seungcheol starts quickly. The others start to get giddy. “And since no one died, the mafia must have chosen me, and then the doctor saved me, which I think is Mingyu. Wonwoo and Shua are citizens, so that leaves you,” Seungcheol finishes, pointing at Haruko with his index finger. All of the other members start to lose their shit, clapping and laughing loudly. Haruko laughs for a few seconds before stopping, getting into actor mode.
“No, but I’m the nurse. Mingyu is the mafia,” Haruko says with a serious face.
“No, no, no, what? It’s you! You’re the mafia!” Mingyu starts getting defensive, standing up. This makes the other members laugh even harder. Haruko manages to keep a straight face.
“You’re the mafia! I never said I was the nurse because I didn’t want to be killed! I kept saving myself this whole time until now,” Haruko explains. Wonwoo and Seokmin shake their heads while Joshua and Seungcheol look like they are considering her words.
“No way you guys are believing her!” Mingyu shouts at the two oldest still-playing members.
“I don’t want to believe that it’s Haruko. She’s been too cute this whole game,” Joshua says, making the others laugh.
“She’s been very quiet, so we know that she’s not a citizen,” Seungcheol states.
“She’s the mafia!” Mingyu screams defeatedly.
“You, on the other hand, are being very vocal. What if you are the mafia?” Seungcheol ponders, pointing at Mingyu.
“Are you dumb?” Mingyu asks, still standing up in disbelief. The other members are still dying laughing, watching everything happen.
“Let’s just vote,” Joshua tries to settle everything.
“Raise your hand if you vote for Mingyu,” Dino says. Haruko, Seungcheol, and Joshua all raise their thumbs. “Raise your hand if you vote for Haruko.” Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Seokmin all raise their thumbs. “It’s a draw, so it’s nighttime again.”
“Ah, I’m so mad,” Mingyu speaks through gritted teeth, closing his eyes and putting his head down.
Haruko ends up choosing to kill Seungcheol again. Seungcheol investigates Mingyu. When he is told that Mingyu is not the mafia, he looks at Haruko like he has been betrayed. The others are laughing silently. Mingyu saves Seungcheol again.
“It’s morning,” Dino states. Once everyone opens their eyes, Seungcheol is up and after Haruko. He practically jumps on her, who is still lying on Jeonghan. Everyone bursts out laughing again. He pulls her up from Jeonghan, and she curls away on the floor while laughing. She tries to curl up in a ball to protect herself as Seungcheol jokingly smacks her with a smile.
“Your acting improved a lot,” Hoshi comments while everything is happening. All of the members are laughing loudly.
As the members get ready for bed, Haruko is last seen on her bed next to Seungcheol, both of them looking tired.
In the morning, Haruko is first seen eating the pork cutlet. She is sitting next to Jeonghan and Minghao. She doesn’t say much as she is enjoying the food too much.
Haruko is next seen walking over to the cars with Vernon. They are talking about something when Jeonghan suddenly honks at them, startling both of them.
“My goodness!” Vernon exclaims, placing a hand on his heart.
“Ah, what?” Haruko shrieks. They both look to the left and see Jeonghan and Minghao in the car. They both go over to it, getting in the back seat.
“Yah~, the sky is so pretty,” Haruko marvels as they drive further into the forest. “It’s so picturesque,” Jeonghan agrees.
“I’ve always wanted to go skydiving, or bungee jumping, or paragliding. Just something in the air, like I’m flying,” Haruko says in her pre-show interview about the things that they wanted to do in the SOOP.
In the car, when Jeonghan calls his grandmother, Haruko’s smile grows at the mention of Jeonghan’s mother. She really likes Jeonghan’s mother and misses her because she hasn’t seen her in a while.
When they listen to GAM3 BO1, Haruko mouths the lyrics while dancing a little bit in her seat.
“There’s a stream right by,” Seungcheol says in the flashback to Haruko, Mingyu, Jun, and him driving to the SOOP.
“I want to just lay in the water,” Mingyu comments.
“It’s so nice here. You know what I want to do? The thing where you throw a net to fish,” Seungcheol states.
“The fishing net?” Mingyu asks.
“I know how to do that! I used to go fishing with my dad a lot down by the docks,” Haruko speaks up.
“Ah, really?” Jun asks.
“Yes, I know everything about fishing because of him. He always said that he had more luck when I was with him,” Haruko states proudly.
“I used to do that with my grandfather as a child,” Seungcheol says.
“Maybe we should have waited for Haruko to come with us,” Seungcheol suggests while fishing with Wonwoo and Dino.
“Why?” Dino asks.
“Because she used to go fishing with her father, and she always brought him luck,” Seungcheol replies.
“Maybe,” Wonwoo smiles.
“In order to catch fish, I probably should have taken other members. Those two were completely uninterested in fishing. Completely uninterested. I should have taken Haruko. She told me that she wanted to go, that she knew what to do, and that she brought luck. All things that the other two didn’t do,” Seungcheol says in his interview after going fishing.
While Haruko, Jeonghan, Vernon, and Minghao are getting ready to go paragliding, they are putting on their equipment.
“Look, I have a smaller jacket than you guys, and it’s still too big on me,” Haruko whines, showing off the way that her hands don’t come out of the sleeves of her oversized coat. The others laugh at her.
“Yah, you look like a penguin when you walk,” Jeonghan comments. Haruko takes some steps. Because of her thick pants and coat, it almost looks like she is waddling. The others laugh again. Haruko looks back at them with a big smile.
“Wa!” Haruko exclaims when Jeonghan jumps and starts to glide in the air. “That looks so fun!” she squeals. She looks at Minghao, who is nervous. “Don’t be nervous, oppa. It will be fun!”
When Minghao jumps next, Haruko cheers him on, giving him more encouragement. Vernon laughs nervously next to her. She nudges him, and he looks at her.
“Are you scared?” she taunts.
“Maybe,” Vernon admits, causing the two ‘98s to laugh.
“Don’t be. It will be like bungee jumping but more fun and relaxed.”
“How do you know?”
“I don’t. I’m just assuming,” she shrugs. Vernon gives her a look, making her burst out laughing.
“Who will go next?” one of the workers asks. Vernon looks at her.
“He can,” she answers. Haruko wanted Vernon to go next so that she would be able to encourage him. If she went first, then Vernon would not have gotten any encouragement, and she knew how much he needed it. “Vernon, hwaiting!”
As Vernon is about to start running, Haruko is practically bouncing on her feet. She is so excited. “Go, Vernonie!” she cheers as he starts to run before jumping with the glider. She looks back at the camera after Vernon has glided for a bit. “Now I don’t have anyone to cheer me on,” she states with a blank smile.
“We’ll cheer you on!” a staff member exclaims.
“Thank you!” Haruko grins at someone behind the camera.
She gets ready to go and is almost jumping with excitement.
“Run forward,” the worker she is strapped to commands.
“Okay!” Haruko tries to run, but it is difficult with the wind and her short legs. She gets some extra power from the worker she is with. She giggles as she takes flight. “Wa, I love it so much.”
“Unbelievable, isn’t it?” the worker asks.
“Yes, really. It’s amazing,” she responds. “Vernonie!” Haruko calls as she sees Vernon in the air. She waves at him, unsure if he saw her or not.
“Haru-yah!” Vernon yells back while waving at her. She has a bit smile on her face as she waves back enthusiastically.
“Wa, it truly was mesmerizing. It was like a dream. Nothing can prepare you for that. It was nothing like I’ve ever experienced. I want to go again!” Haruko says in her interview after going paragliding.
After everyone is back home and just relaxing, Haruko is in her treehouse once again. She is reading on her couch, with her lantern on once again with some soft piano music playing in the background.
Upon smelling the cooking from the dining hall, Haruko gets curious and exits her treehouse. Just like every other time, she puts her book in her mouth and uses her zipline to get out. She enters the dining hall to find Mingyu and Seokmin cooking, and Jun, who is about to start cooking.
“Hello,” she greets. Everyone says hello to her. “How was racing?”
“Really fun. I really enjoyed it,” Seokmin beams.
“He even sped while driving back here,” Mingyu quips.
“Yah,” Seokmin glares at him with a smile. Haruko laughs at their bickering. “How was paragliding?”
“Fantastic! I really loved it. I want to go back,” Haruko says with a big smile.
“Wa, good.”
“Jun oppa, what are you making?” Haruko asks.
“I’m going to make shabu shabu,” he replies.
“Can I help?”
“Sure.”
As they eat, Haruko sits next to Jun. She is smiling throughout the conversation, but she isn’t saying much.
When Woozi asks if they can make a fire outside to make a song together, Haruko perks up. Her smile grows as she becomes excited. “Ah, I should’ve brought a cool instrument,” she says.
In the flashback to Seokmin, Joshua, Woozi, and Hoshi making music in the first episode. When Seokmin plays the electric guitar in a rock style, Woozi smiles. “We should bring Haruko in; she can play in the rock style,” he says.

Haruko In The SOOP Ep.2 : Our Dawn Is Hotter Than Day
“Go! Pick it up, quick! It’s still okay!” Haruko yells after Seungcheol drops the Tomahawk steak on the ground right in front of the brick oven. She is laughing at the same time as she moves her hands frantically to gesture.
When Seokmin comes around to tell everyone that the food is ready, Haruko is in the playroom with Seungcheol, Wonwoo, Jeonghan, Joshua, and Minghao. She is making Jeonghan’s Legos even though Jeonghan is helping Joshua with his pottery. “Okay, just a second!” Haruko says after Seokmin tells them to come eat.
Haruko is the first one out of the playroom, Wonwoo and Jeonghan coming after her. She jogs up to where Seungkwan and Seokmin are.
“Where’s the food?” she asks.
“Under the tarp,” Seokmin answers.
“Okay.” She continues walking until she gets to the tent. She sits down between Wonwoo and Jeonghan. “Thank you!” she says about the food before starting to eat. She doesn’t grab a plate and instead just picks some pieces of meat up every now and then.
“Why aren’t you eating, Haruko?” Jeonghan asks her a little later.
“I had lunch earlier. I’m not that hungry,” she answers. Jeonghan nods. “I wanted to try the Tomahawk.”
Later, Haruko asks, “Do we have any whiskey?”
“Since when are you drinking whiskey?” Jeonghan queries, raising an eyebrow at her.
“I don’t know. Jun oppa showed me some, and it was really good,” she replies before taking another sip of beer. “This beer is okay, though.”
After their late lunch, when everyone is shown doing whatever they want, Haruko is shown in her treehouse. She is lying on a couch, next to a window, reading a book.
Later in the night, when Hoshi, Dino, Vernon, and Minghao are eating outside, Haruko is still up in her treehouse. She has since gotten a small reading light to read her book. Her hair is tied in a messy bun, she is wearing her glasses, and she has a blue blanket draped over herself. Upon the smell of the barbeque outside, Haruko perks up. She bookmarks her book and sits up to look out the window. She can’t see the members directly as they are under the tent, but she can see the smoke from the grill. She opens the window.
“Yah!” she yells out, trying to catch their attention.
“Hello? Who is it?” Hoshi calls back.
“It’s Haruko,” Minghao says to him.
“Who is down there?” she shouts.
“Hoshi, Dino, Myungho, and Vernon.”
“What are you eating?”
“Samgyeopsal and mushrooms!” Minghao answers.
“Mushrooms?”
“Yes!” Dino clarifies.
“Okay, I’m coming down!” she calls before closing the window and turning off the light.
“Quick, eat all the mushrooms!” Vernon jokes, making the others laugh. Haruko rushes out of the treehouse and down the ladder. She goes over to where everyone is. She takes a pair of chopsticks from the table and takes some mushrooms directly from the pot.
“Have you been in the treehouse this whole time?” Hoshi asks.
“Since I last ate, yes.”
“You’ve eaten every time someone has cooked today!” Dino points out, making the others laugh.
“It’s what I came to the SOOP for!” Haruko responds, eating another piece of mushroom. “I’ve been reading for the past few hours. It’s really nice up there.”
“Have you taken the zipline yet?” Vernon asks her.
“No, I’m too tired now. I’ll definitely use it tomorrow. I’m excited about it.”
“Haru-yah, do you want some ramen?” Woozi asks her.
“No, thank you. I’ve eaten so much today. My stomach will hurt if I eat more,” Haruko states as she leans back in her chair, still under the tent with the others.
Later, she says, “I’m going to go inside.” She stands up and stretches. “Ah, but I forgot my book in the treehouse.” Woozi laughs at her dilemma. “I have to go get it.” She trudges back over to the treehouse and climbs up the ladder. She grabs the book from the couch and does a quick wave to the camera before going over to the ladder. She stops before starting to go down and looks at the zipline behind her. “Eh, why not?” she shrugs. She places her book in her mouth before going over and grabbing the wooden bar for the zipline. She jumps off without a second thought. She swings down quickly. Woozi, Vernon, and Minghao whip their heads around to see what just flew behind them. Dino does the same from inside the dining hall.
“Was that Haruko?” Woozi asks. She lands safely, takes out the book from her mouth, and cheers. The other boys quickly cheer, as well. She jogs over to where they are under the tent. Dino comes outside. “I thought you were too tired?”
“I was, but then I was up there, and it looked so fun. I had to do it.”
“Ah, I’ll have to use it tomorrow,” Vernon says.
“Okay, bye~,” Haruko waves before going to the playroom.
“Hello~,” Haruko says as she enters the playroom. Everyone inside greets her.
“Did you eat again?” Jeonghan asks.
“Yes. It was really good. I got some mushrooms!” Haruko exclaims, doing a little happy dance. Jeonghan smiles at her.
“Have you been in the treehouse yet?” Seokmin asks.
“Yes, I was reading up there earlier. It’s really nice. You should check it out.” Haruko goes over and sits next to Seungcheol, resting her head on his shoulder. Seungcheol smiles before ruffling her hair -which was falling out of its bun- a little bit.
“Have you used the zipline?” Seungcheol asks.
“Yeah, I just used it before I came here,” she answers.
“Really?” Joshua asks in surprise, looking up from his pottery.
“Yes. I had finished eating, and I was going to come here, but I realized that I had left my book in the treehouse. So I went back up to get it, and I was going to go down the ladder, but then I decided to go down the zipline,” she explains.
“Good that you’re having fun,” Wonwoo smiles at her. Haruko snuggles more into Seungcheol and opens her book again.
“Oh my! I’m done!” Wonwoo exclaims about his Legos.
“Oh~, it looks so cool,” Jeonghan marvels. Haruko looks up from her book quickly.
“Wa, oppa, that looks so great.” Her mouth forms the shape of an “O”. “I should finish mine.” Haruko looks over to Jeonghan’s unfinished Legos.
“Yours?” Jeonghan asks.
“Ours,” she corrects. Jeonghan nods.
Even later, when Jeonghan, Seokmin, Wonwoo, and Seungkwan are playing Yutnori, Haruko is fast asleep, cuddled up to Seungcheol on the couch, who is also asleep.
“The losing team will... to Coups hyung and Haruko,” Seungkwan gestures to drawing on Seungcheol and Haruko’s face.
“That’s a good one! Doodle on Coups hyung’s and Haruko’s face,” Seokmin clarifies.
“What?” Seungcheol mumbles sleepily. Seokmin starts laughing loudly, finding it funny that Seungcheol heard what he said. Seokmin’s laughing makes Haruko stir.
“We’ve woken the sleeping Coups,” Seungkwan says.
“Yah, shh! You’re going to wake up Haruko,” Seungcheol scolds lightheartedly. Seokmin just tries to silence his laughs and ends up wheezing, making the others laugh quietly, as well. Haruko adjusts her position, still asleep, to hugging Seungcheol a little closer and nuzzling her head a little more.
Once everyone is going to bed, Haruko has a bit of newfound energy from her nap. Her bed is on the floor, next to Seungcheol’s. However, she is up and doing a face mask with Jeonghan, Seokmin, and Wonwoo.
After that, when everyone has finished their face masks, Haruko is in her bed on the floor, sandwiched between Seungcheol’s and Wonwoo’s beds, Mingyu’s bed being the farthest from her. She is reading her book, but her eyes continue to droop as she tries to stay awake.
A small clip is shown of Haruko’s book lightly landing on her face, as she has fallen asleep while reading. Wonwoo looks over at her.
“Yah, Mingyu-yah, look at Haru,” Wonwoo says.
“What?” Mingyu tears his attention from his phone and looks over at Haruko. He starts to chuckle, finding the girl’s actions cute. Wonwoo takes a picture of Haruko before carefully taking the book off of her and bookmarking it, setting it down behind her bed.
“Should we go to sleep?” Wonwoo asks.
“Sure,” Mingyu answers. Wonwoo then gets up to turn the lights off.

Haruko In The SOOP Ep.7 : Same Dream, Same Heart, Same Night
Haruko is first seen getting ready to go biking with Seungcheol and Mingyu. She woke up late after the others had already left for the futsal field.
“Haruko-yah, you have to get up,” Seungcheol says.
“What?” she mutters, completely disoriented from being pulled out of her sleep.
“Get up. We can go biking,” Seungcheol states.
“Really?” she asks.
“Yes, if you’re ready to go in ten minutes.”
“Okay.” Seungcheol pulls Haruko’s blankets off of her so she will hopefully get up. She grabs her phone for a moment after Seungcheol leaves before putting it down again and staring at the ceiling. “I have to get up. I’m hungry,” she says to herself before getting up to go to the dining hall. She eats some cereal.
Haruko is next seen getting her bike in the back of one of the cars with the help of Mingyu.
As Mingyu, Haruko, and Seungcheol start biking in the rain, Haruko looks swallowed by her coat. Her thick sleeves are rolled up so she can grip the handlebars.
“Yah, Mingyu-yah! You’re going too fast!” Haruko screams as they bike, seeing Mingyu go far ahead of her and Seungcheol. Haruko is behind Seungcheol, her shorter legs putting her at a disadvantage.
“Mingyu! Slow down! We’re going to lose Haruko!” Seungcheol yells at him. Mingyu slows down upon hearing their cries. He looks back at them and stops pedaling, letting his wheels roll while Seungcheol and Haruko pedal faster to catch up to him.
“This is unfair; you’re both much taller than me,” Haruko, once she and Seungcheol are next to Mingyu on their bikes. Mingyu laughs at the two of them.
“We’re almost there,” he says. They continue biking for a little while longer. Mingyu takes the lead again. Seungcheol and Haruko don’t bother telling him to slow down. As the futsal field comes into view, Seungcheol is really tired.
“You can do it, oppa!” Haruko cheers Seungcheol on. Despite her encouragement, Seungcheol gets off of his bike. Not wanting him to be alone, Haruko also gets off of her bike, walking with him.
“Mingyu is really fit. We need to get better, Haru-yah,” Seungcheol pants.
“We need to surprise him by getting better than him,” she says.
“Let’s do it.”
Haruko ends up on the team with Dino, Seokmin, Mingyu, and Seungcheol.
“I may be short, but I have really strong legs,” Haruko says in her interview before they start playing futsal. She laughs. “I always have to keep up with people who are taller than me. My leg muscles are really developed from that, I think.”
At one point in the game, Jeonghan kicks the ball high in the air. Haruko runs toward it and headbutts it, passing it to Dino. Dino then kicks it and scores, earning their team a point. “Nice!” Haruko cheers, running to give Dino a high five.
Throughout the game, Haruko repeatedly sneaks herself into a crowd of the boys. Since she is so small, she can get around them easier and steal the ball from them. More than once, she does this and kicks the ball quickly to one of her teammates who are waiting around her from different sides behind the crowd of people.
When the losing team gets to each have a shot at the goal to try and get out of the punishment, Haruko doesn’t use any strategies to get the ball in the goal. She stands normally, almost like she is studying the goal. “Let’s go, Haruko!” Mingyu cheers. She take a small run and shoots, going right in between Seungkwan’s legs, she makes the goal. She turns back to face her teammates and cheers, who are also cheering for her. She goes and hugs them happily.
On the way back, Haruko sits behind Seungcheol, next to Mingyu. She thought about biking back with Dino and Joshua but chose against it in the end.
“Are you cleaning up?” Haruko asks, seeing Wonwoo carrying a pan full of something back inside.
“Yes,” he answers.
“What is that?” she asks.
“Chicken and mushrooms.”
“Mushrooms? Give it.” Wonwoo laughs before handing her the frying pan. “Thank you,” she smiles before turning and walking back to the tent where Hoshi, Joshua, and Minghao are. “I love mushrooms~,” she sings, eating some. “Wa, who cooked these?” she asks, surprised by how good they are.
“Jun hyung,” Minghao answers.
“They’re delicious,” she says, taking another bite.
While she is eating her chicken and mushrooms, Joshua hands her a lamb skewer that Minghao just made. She takes it and has a bite.
“Wa, oppa, this is so good! You’re really good at making lamb skewers,” Haruko gushes.
“Thanks,” Minghao laughs.
As they are eating, when Dino and Seokmin start to do a dance, Haruko is the third one to stand up, doing it with a smile. She encourages the other members to do it, as well.
Once Haruko has showered, she comes back outside in her pajamas. Her hair is in two dutch braids down her head. One braid ends with a pink hair tie, and the other ends with a blue hair tie. She looks very cute with her glasses on, as well. She comes to sit next to Mingyu and Seungcheol with a glass of whiskey in her hand. Not long after, Jeonghan comes, who she welcomes warmly.
“It’s good, Dokyeom oppa,” Haruko says about the brick oven pizza he made. She smiles at him warmly.
“Where’s your AirPod?” Haruko asks Jeonghan once he comes to join them. Seeing that he only has one AirPod in his ear.
“In the case,” he answers.
“Can I have it?”
“Sure.” Jeonghan takes the case out of his pocket and opens it for Haruko to take the other AirPod out. She takes it and puts it in her ear. She then rests her head on Jeonghan’s shoulder contently.
After that, Haruko is last seen in the playroom with Jeonghan, helping him finish the Legos.

Haruko In The SOOP Ep.6 : Side By Side
“Why did you guys want to go fishing?” Jeonghan asks once they are driving in the car.
“I just like fishing. I used to do it with my dad a lot,” Haruko replies.
“My father is a fisherman. So, when I was a child, he would sometimes take me to the beach, and we would go fishing together. I loved it. He said I always brought him good luck when I came along,” Haruko says in her interview.
Once they arrive, Haruko goes on the platform with Wonwoo and Jeonghan.
“This is so cool,” Wonwoo says.
“It’s wonderful,” Jeonghan replies. Haruko nods her head, agreeing with them both. They wait for a little while without getting any catches.
“You know, every time that my dad and I would go fishing and we wouldn’t catch anything for a while, we would sing an old Japanese poem,” Haruko speaks up.
“Really?” Jeonghan asks.
“Yes.”
“How does it go?” Wonwoo asks.
“Do you want to hear the original, or should I translate it?”
“Sing the original and then translate it after,” Jeonghan says.
“Okay. 魚たちは夜. 自分たちが地球のそとに. 流れでるのを感じる. 水が少なくなるので. 尾ひれをしきりにふりながら. 夜があまり静かなので. 自分たちの水をはねる音が気になる. 誰かにきこえやしないかと思って. 夜をすかして見る. すると. もう何年も前にまよい出た. 一匹の水すましが. 帰り道にまよって思案もわすれたように. ぐるぐる廻っているのに出会う,” Haruko recites the poem.
“Wa, that was so cool,” Jeonghan gushes.
“I really liked it,” Wonwoo agrees.
“Now, what does it mean?” Jeonghan asks.
“I’ll try to translate it, um... At night, fish have a sense that they are flowing out of the Earth. Busily flapping their tailfins as water becomes scarce. The night is so serene, they are self-conscious about their noisy splashing. Lest they be heard by someone, they peer through the night and come upon a single water-strider. Who drifted out many years ago and lost his way home. He is circling about as if he has no worries,” Haruko translates.
“Wa, great!” Jeonghan smiles.
“Then did the fish magically start appearing in the water?” Wonwoo jokes.
“Sometimes, yeah!” Haruko grins, making them all laugh.
“Do you not eat maeuntang?” Jeonghan asks Wonwoo when their food comes. “I don’t eat maeuntang,” he confirms. “You don’t eat maeuntang?” Haruko asks, shocked. She loves maeuntang. “Eat it. Maeuntang doesn’t taste fishy,” Jeonghan says. “I will give it a try,” Wonwoo gives in.
Every time that a member catches something, Haruko supports them with a smile.
When Jeonghan calls his dad, Haruko smiles but doesn’t say anything, wanting to let Jeonghan talk to his father. After a minute or two, Haruko gets impatient.
“Dad! she calls.
“Dad, Haruko is calling you,” Jeonghan states as he passes his phone to Haruko.
“Dad, hello!” Haruko smiles.
“Oh, hello, Haruko-yah,” Jeonghan’s dad greets.
“I miss you. I haven’t seen you in a while,” she says.
“Yes, you should come to dinner at our house when you get back from your show,” Jeonghan’s dad invites.
“What about me?” Jeonghan asks.
“Sure, you can come,” he jokes, making the others laugh.
“You know, Dad, Wonwoo oppa is also here,” Haruko says.
“Ah, really?”
“Yes, I’ll hand the phone to him,” Haruko says, passing the phone to Wonwoo.
“Hello, father!” Haruko and Jeonghan say when Wonwoo calls his dad.
“Ah, Jeonghan, Haruko!” Wonwoo’s dad greets them.
Wonwoo talks with his dad for a couple minutes. “Pass the phone to Haruko and Jeonghan,” Wonwoo’s dad says. Wonwoo hands his phone over to Haruko, who angles it in a way that Wonwoo’s dad can see Jeonghan behind her. “Guys!”
“Yes, dad?”
“How are you feeling?”
“We’re great since we’re on vacation!” Jeonghan says.
“You know I’m rooting for you, right?” Wonwoo’s dad asks.
“Sorry?” Haruko asks, not hearing him.
“You know I’m rooting for you, right?” he repeats.
“Ah, of course!” Haruko exclaims with a smile.
“Don’t skip meals.”
“Okay,” Haruko passes Wonwoo’s phone back to him. They talk for a moment longer. “Hwaiting, Dad!” Haruko says as the phone call ends.
“When we were trainees, Jeonghannie oppa used to take me to his parents’ house for dinner around once or twice a month. That’s how I grew especially close to his parents. All of the members, we treat each others’ parents as if they are our own. I love it,” Haruko says in her interview.
“I loved it. I would stay for longer,” Haruko says as they are leaving on the boat.
“Maknaes, did you catch any fish?” Seungcheol asks as the fishing team walks into the dining hall.
“We caught tuna, I think,” Dino responds.
“I saw the picture, and it was this tiny,” Seungcheol says, showing the size with his hands, catching Dino in a lie.
“There wasn’t a lot of fish. It wasn’t a good spot. Even I wasn’t catching much,” Haruko comes to Dino’s defense. Seungcheol laughs at them.
They all eventually sit down, and Haruko happily eats her bibimmyeon and samgyeopsal.
When Jeonghan, Seungkwan, and Seokmin are at the footbath outside, Haruko also comes out with Mingyu upon hearing the commotion.
“What’s going on?” Haruko asks, Mingyu following her onto the deck.
“Footbath,” Seungkwan answers her. Haruko nods. As Jeonghan steps in to do the five-second penalty, Haruko takes her shoes and socks off, wanting to step in, as well. She puts her foot in.
“It’s not that hot, guys,” Haruko comments.
“Leave it for longer,” Seokmin tells her. She leaves her foot in for around four seconds.
“Okay, maybe it’s a little hot,” she admits as she takes her foot out of the hot water. The others laugh at her reaction of trying to act tough.
Not long after, Haruko is the first one to fully step in and endure it.
“It’s nice now,” she says.
“Really?” Jeonghan asks.
“Yes, come sit.” Jeonghan sits next to her with his feet in the water.
“Ah, it is nice,” he agrees. Soon, all of them have their feet in the hot water.
When they play rock, paper, scissors to see who will have to wash their hair in the footbath, Haruko and Mingyu continuously lose, being the last ones still in the game.
“Please!” Haruko begs before playing the last round, not wanting to lose. She does paper, and Mingyu does rock. She jumps up and cheers. Jeonghan, Seokmin, and Seungkwan all cheer for her, as well. “Wash your hair!” she taunts Mingyu.
