Decided to update this piece! Mainly because I didn't feel it was 'dynamic' enough.

Here we are! Haru Fujiwara and Ryudamon! Haru's part of the police force - working on things like speeding tickets and the like, though she yearns to be respected more by doing more dangerous missions and hunts. She's quite feisty with most things she does, including breaking up fights (which Ryudamon tends to stop her from trying to beat them up, as that'll look bad on her if she doesn't get info). Haru also has a softer side that she hasn't properly developed, mainly caring about the children she tends to defend from strangers and whatnot. Sadly, the Japanese Police isn't so kind about anything but making sure to 'win'.

Ryudamon is Haru's partner, and if Haru is feisty, Ryudamon is calm and thinking through things. She makes sure that Haru doesn't end up injured. Ryudamon is able to express the things that Haru cannot at times, like being able to tell others what they saw when they first saw the 'glitching creatures' one time.

Haru herself had been 'demoted' to the cold case of the glitching creatures, and both her and Honey were childhood friends that happened to work on the same case... Which is odd, them being 'friends', as both Honey and Haru doesn't remember how it happened, nor how the two became friends to begin with...

Blue Lock Episode 30 Review - Thieves Vs Policemen

Want to know something crazy? Since there are 14 episodes for this season and this is the 6th episode already, it means that we’re almost halfway through the season! Mind-blowing, isn’t it? We’re finally at the main focus for the season, the U-20 match.

This is mainly a buildup episode. It’s a buildup for showing the nation what sort of program Blue Lock is for potential high school soccer stars and it’s also a test to see if Ego was correct in creating this soccer program for the benefit of Japanese soccer. I liked seeing the little snippets of the daily lives of the players before the big match. Everyone is different so they all prepare in different ways. What amazed me the most was the amount of people who showed up for the big match. It lets me know how much of a big deal soccer is in Japan. Since Blue Lock is still so obscure, nobody really came for them other than their family and mostly came for the U-20 stars. It seems that the most popular are Aiku, Sendou and Sae.

There’s also some spotlight on the U-20 team, mostly on Aiku, though. He’s the captain of the team, but just because Sae is one of the biggest teen soccer stars doesn’t mean he’ll let him do whatever he wants. This means that Shidou is not included in the starting lineup because he wants to win without him and that he believes in his team. When playing, Aiku is actually a very formidable foe because he’s a defender opposed to Blue Lock’s striker. The analogy of cops vs robbers feels very synonymous. Oh, speaking of which, I learned that Oliver is his surname and Aiku is actually his given name. This makes sense since Japan does the eastern naming order, yet it’s confusing because Oliver is mostly used as a first name and not a surname.

The soccer playing is mostly shown towards the end with Rin, Isagi and Nagi taking the lead with the offense. Bachira also gets some shine too. Of the U-20, some players do get some spotlight, like Haru Hayate, but it seems that they’ll be more utilized in the next episode. I honestly can’t wait to see Sae and Rin facing off. I do wonder what caused the beef between them because the brothers’ childhood memories showed that they got along pretty well. What could’ve caused the rift between them?

What’s crazy is that not only do the U-20 got their fair share of known voice actors, but Rin, Sae and Aiku’s child selves all have well-known voice actors too! Since I talked about Aiku and Sendou in the previous episode, let’s talk about Hayate, the one with the blond spiky hair. He’s voiced by Kensho Ono. If you’re not familiar with him, he’s the voice actor for Kuroko from Kuroko’s Basketball. It’s crazy to see him in another big sports anime. For the childhood voice actors, Rin is voiced by Yuka Terasaki, who voices Roy from Pokemon Horizons; Sae is voiced by Yuko Sanpei who you may know as Chizuru Yoshida from Kimi Ni Todoke and Boruto Uzumaki from his namesake show. That’s pretty crazy how much budget they spend on big voice actors. Then, Aiku’s childhood voice actor is Natsumi Fujiwara, who is known for voicing Damian Desmond from Spy x Family. Is the production really spending more on voice actors than on animation? Not only that, the sports commentators also got some big names. The younger man is voiced by Daisuke Sakaguchi and the older one, Natsuki, is voiced by Wataru Takagi. I’m seriously convinced they’re spending their budget on voice actors…

The additional time was seriously cute! I feel like the animal comparison was popular that they brought it back. This time, the YukkiNagi duo compare some of the U-20 players to animals. Why is Sendou the only one with a more human-like appearance compared to the other animals? Also, poor Darai, he got compared to an object. At least Rin knows your pain. Speaking of which, Rin joins in again and compares Sae to a mosquito as Nagi hates them. As Nagi decides to plot against Sae, Yukimiya tells them to stop playing this game. Haha. These three are seriously a combo I never expect would be hilarious together. I’d like this to continue to see which animals other players would be compared to.

TMOHS HONORIFICS REFERENCE

a few of my buddies supported the idea of me making a bit of a reference for how the tmohs characters canonically refer to each other. so, i decided to do just that! i'm really only going through and picking out relevant characters, as non-relevant characters aren't really given names to be addressed by. everything under the cut because this is long. anyone is free to reblog this.

CHARACTER  DEFAULTS: - KYON  by  default  refers  to  people  by  just  last  name.  he  seems  to  add  -san  onto  that  if  the  person  is  older  than  him. - HARUHI  will  use  lastname-san  on  average,  but  tends  to  jump  to  just  last  name  or  first  name.  she's  inconsistent,  though. - YUKI  and  KUYOH  will  not  refer  to  anyone  by  name  if  they  do  not  know  their  first  and  last  name.  if  their  first/last  names  aren't  known  to  the  audience  yuki  will  describe  them  "the  cat"  /  "that  human"  /  "that  time  traveler"  or  solely  refer  to  them  by  their  pronouns  when  it  is  clear  in  context. - MIKURU  is  polite  by  default;  lastname-san. - ITSUKI  is  polite  by  default;  lastname-san.  will  occasionally  refer  to  people  by  their  full  names  when  monologuing. - RYOKO  and  EMIRI  often  use  lastname-san  but  will  refer  to  people  by  full  name  on  occasion.  especially  when  discussing  things  in  the  context  of  their  goals. - TSURUYA  is  similar  to  kyon  with  a  tendency  towards  giving  people  nicknames. - FUJIWARA  more  often  just  describes  people,  usually  in  a  derogatory  manner,  rather  then  call  them  by  name.  when  he  does  use  names,  it  seems  he  defaults  to  just  last  names  without  honorific  or  using  their  full  name. - EVERYONE  ELSE  can  be  assumed  to  use  lastname-san  for  people  by  default.  it's  just polite.

KYON  IS  REFERRED  TO  AS... - KYON  by  the   majority  of  people.  we  do  not  hear  his  real  name  even  once  in  the  series,  thus  no  one  is  seen  using  it  for  him.  though  we  can  assume  teachers  and  his  parents  do. - KYON-KUN  by  mikuru,  tsuruya,  and  his  little  sister. - KYOROSUKE  once  by  tsuruya - NOTHING  by  yuki,  emiri,  ryoko,  and  kuyoh.  these  few  only  refer  to  kyon  in  the  second  person  “this/that  person/human”  or  just  “you”.  as  we  do  not  see  them  talk  about  him  when  he  is  not  present  we  are  unsure  how  they  reference  him  when  he  is  not  around,  but  we  can  infer  that  they  do  not  use  “kyon”  as  it  is  a  plot  point  in  “snowy  mountain  syndrome”  that  yuki  would  have  not  called  kyon  by  his  nickname. - KYAM  by  T.  (NOTE:  she  once  also  called  him  kyami). - SENPAI  by  yasumi.  no  name,  just  senpai.

HARUHI  IS  REFERRED  TO  AS... - SUZUMIYA-SAN  by  everyone who  isn’t  yuki  or  kuyoh.  if  a  major  character  isn’t  mentioned  as  doing  otherwise  below,  this  is  what  they  call  her. - SUZUMIYA  by  taniguchi  and  fujiwara.  kyon  also  calls  her  this  at  the  beginning  of  melancholy  before  getting  to  know  her  better. - HARUHI  by  kyon  (NOTE:  kyon  once  considered  starting  to  call  her  by  “haru”  or  “haru-chan”  but  decided  against  it). - HARU-NYAN  by  tsuruya-  and  kyon’s  sister  who  picked  it  up  from  her.  tsuruya  will  switch  between  this  and  suzumiya-san. - HARLS  by  tsuruya. - HARU  by  T. - FULL  NAME  by  yuki  and  kuyoh.  a  lot  of  supernatural  characters  (especially  aliens)  will  occasionally  use  her  full  name  as  well,  but  it  is  not  anyone  else’s  default. - ???  we  do  not  see  yasumi  refer  to  haruhi,  so  we  do  not  know  what  she  calls  her.  it  can  be  assumed  it  is  either  suzumiya-senpai  or  haruhi-senpai,  but  it’s  hard  to  say.

Here we are! Haru Fujiwara and Ryudamon! Haru's part of the police force - working on things like speeding tickets and the like, though she yearns to be respected more by doing more dangerous missions and hunts. She's quite feisty with most things she does, including breaking up fights (which Ryudamon tends to stop her from trying to beat them up, as that'll look bad on her if she doesn't get info). Haru also has a softer side that she hasn't properly developed, mainly caring about the children she tends to defend from strangers and whatnot. Sadly, the Japanese Police isn't so kind about anything but making sure to 'win'.

Ryudamon is Haru's partner, and if Haru is feisty, Ryudamon is calm and thinking through things. She makes sure that Haru doesn't end up injured. Ryudamon is able to express the things that Haru cannot at times, like being able to tell others what they saw when they first saw the 'glitching creatures' one time.

Haru herself had been 'demoted' to the cold case of the glitching creatures, and both her and Honey were childhood friends that happened to work on the same case... Which is odd, them being 'friends', as both Honey and Haru doesn't remember how it happened, nor how the two became friends to begin with...
