The hat he wore was one, lost and found on the corner of a bar counter’s tainted surface. Poor guy, perhaps looking for an ugly article of clothing, now concealing a dishwater blond head, when he entered the apartment, which lay in front of him in dim illumination.

         “Be honest with me. Do I look like a homeless person with this?”

“If they lay a finger on you, I swear I’ll kill them.”

Lenore’s words caused his lips to turn into an amused smile. He knew she meant it. It was the irony of it all that made his lips turn upward. “I know you will.. but do not forget that I’m not exactly.. fragile,” he replied. Part of him was relieved to hear her say the words because that is exactly what the vampire would do for Lenore if anyone laid their hands upon her.

          he’s not blending in, not in the least ! the jury’s still out on if the newspaper’s helping his case or making it worse, but he’s seeing this through. dedicated to the bit ! he’s even reading it. “what’s your sign?” gotten to the horoscopes by the sound of it.
