#2: What is your MC's greatest fear, and how do they confront it?

Bella: Bella's biggest fear is failure. She really feels like she failed Jane when they were kids and that created a big fear for her. During the events of chapter 15, she also feels like she failed Noah and thinks that sacrificing herself will somehow help. Which,,, it doesn't not help, but... I'm gonna have to finish my ILB and ILW playthroughs with Bella to determine how it all comes together and how she confronts her fears when she comes back from being Redfield.

Harry: Harry's biggest fear is losing his loved ones. I actually have two AUs for him, one where he became Redfield and one where Noah did. In the one where Harry became Redfield, him sacrificing himself is how he confronts, or more accurately, avoids this fear. He cares for Noah, he loves him and he doesn't want to lose him like he did Jane, so he sacrifices himself instead. As for the AU where Noah becomes Redfield, I headcanon that Harry really tried to convince Noah to let him sacrifice himself instead, but Noah Would Not Listen. Harry does not handle it well! I haven't decided exactly what he does, but I imagine it involves spiraling :) I know he definitely doesn't go to college in that AU. Like probably at all. If he does it's after the events of ILW. I also headcanon that his fear of losing loved ones is one of his biggest motivators for trying to bring Noah back in ILW. okay that's enough about Harry for now lmao if you want to know more you can send me asks i would love to talk about it.

Raven: Raven's biggest fear is being alone. She's a loner socially, but she's never really alone. She has a close family and her not wanting to be alone is, like, the number one reason she agreed to babysit Hilda while her parents were gone and why she adopted Ava Jr. (the trash cat). She isn't really aware she even has this fear, until after she comes back from being Redfield because as Redfield she was alone for so long. So, she doesn't confront the fear until after she comes back. When she does, it's in her therapy sessions with Dan and he helps her work through it. I imagine that while she's working through this, she ends up breaking up with Ava for a while (because she needs to learn how to be alone. they get back together though) and feels sooooo guilty about it since Ava literally waited for her to come back from the dead.

Jesse: Jesse's biggest fear is disappointing others, particularly his loved ones and especially Connor (even though he could literally never disappoint Connor, that man is so smitten). Honestly, he doesn't really confront this fear very much, until he quite literally burns himself out. I haven't decided exactly how that is going to happen, but it's going to have to do with working himself too hard trying to bring Noah back sometime in between the events of ILITW and the events of ILW.

Ivy: Ivy's biggest fear is being ignored. As a woman athlete, she's used to not getting as much attention as men athletes and she hates it. I got into her specific jealousy of Andy in her MC profile. She knows sometimes it's stupid or irrational, but she's very self-assured and feels that she doesn't always get the recognition she deserves. Of course it's not just for her athletics and if anything her being such a good athlete sometimes makes it worse because people think she's a one-dimensional jock, when she isn't. Honestly, she's quite bad at confronting this and tries to suppress it more than anything.

Devon: Honestly, I'm not quite sure what Devon's biggest fear is, but I know damn well he is not confronting anything. This man suppresses every single feeling. Number 1 fan of avoidance.

i don't think there's a better portrayal of--- gen z in a work sphere that for a lot of us is often anxiety-riddled, unforgiving and bleak--- than 'industry' on hbo. the sex and drugs is obvs fun so are the themes of imposter syndrome, hierarchy, false notion of importance, abuse of power, nepotism, capitalism, politics, addiction, tokenism, gender, race, class etc. the performances are brilliant, the score fucking rips. the creators mickey and konrad are so fucking cool i've been watching interviews, listening to podcasts. the conversation around the show also may be small but is relatively smart? (reddit is not invited) and light? (no stupid discourse) like the reviews, listening to the watch and twitter's been pretty cool too. ppl just get it and each season gets better. in a way, i would've never guessed that this show would turn into what it is today. s1 was definitely a little more intimate a little more 'girls' hbo but like set in london and finance and like yeah that somehow worked for me bcs of harper, yas, rob and gus as a core four, that chemistry. that post-uni young adult drama feel. now with s3 its grown into this powerhouse and it casually put one of those really good prestigious pilot eps that make you wanna scream from the top your lungs at how amazing television is. also arguably one of the show's best episode. truly a blessing to have this show on in this day and age.

Trans headcanons for Tegan and Andy!

okay i started answering this in november when you sent the ask and then it got eaten by my drafts for a while so i'm pulling it back out for pride month @choicespride

Teagan:

Teagan didn't tell the AME producers she's trans until after they cast her

She didn't talk about it on the show much, but Piper tried to make her because she said "being trans is trendy"

Teagan couldn't say much about it publicly because of her contract, but after Piper got fired, Teagan posted all about her experience with her

Piper was transphobic at times, not overtly, mostly microaggressions and just generally being weird and trying to exploit Teagan's transness for storylines

As for non-AME related headcanons:

When she was younger (like middle school) Teagan tried to manifest growing boobs

She came out when she was 14

She got top surgery when she was 18

She got facial feminization surgery when she was 20

She got bottom surgery when she was 21

Andy:

Whenever any of Andy's friends wanted to play house as kids, he would insist on being the dad or brother or something like that

None of them really cared too much as long as they got to play

The first person Andy came out to was Tom

Andy came out to his family not long after Jane died

At first his parents were worried it was some kind of weird trauma response so they sent him to therapy

They wanted to be supportive if Andy was telling the truth, but they also wanted to be sure

My ILITW MC, Harry, is also trans

Even though Harry and Andy hadn't talked in years, when Harry started questioning his gender in middle school he went to Andy for advice

Bella: Bella's greatest passion/pursuit is her fashion blog! It's important to her because she built it from the ground up and it's a wonderful amalgamation of a lot of her different skills. Obviously her skills in fashion and writing, but she also taught herself how to do some basic coding. She finds fashion and writing to both be really fun, so while it doesn't necessarily help her deal with her childhood trauma, it does offer her a creative outlet to focus on and bring joy to her life :)

Harry: Harry's greatest passion/pursuit is his poetry. It's important to him because it's how he can best express himself. He definitely uses it to work through his childhood trauma and eventually writes a poetry duology for the Marshall twins - one book dedicated to Jane and one to Noah.

Raven: Raven's greatest passion/pursuit is her witchcraft. It's important to her because it's her spirituality and how she connects with the world around her. She uses it to feel connected to Jane even after she passes. She also uses a lot of protection spells/potions/etc. to make herself feel safer, especially during the events of ILITW.

Ivy: Ivy's greatest passion/pursuit is her athleticism. It's something she's worked really hard on and is really proud of. It hasn't necessarily helped her grow/deal with her childhood trauma too much. She does use working out as a coping mechanism for a lot of things though. Gotta love those post-workout endorphins!!

Jesse: Jesse's greatest passion/pursuit is his relationship/family with Connor. Family is very important to Jesse and Connor helped him through a lot of the trauma he experienced (after the events of ILITW). I haven't decided yet if they have kids in the future or not, but at the very least they definitely have pets. Jesse puts a lot of care and effort into his family to make sure everyone is well cared for.

Devon: Devon's greatest passion/pursuit is his jewelry making. It's a creative outlet, but also something that keeps him physically occupied - essentially, a great distraction, both mentally and physically. Devon's favorite piece of jewelry that he made is a locket where he keeps a photo of Jane and, later on, a photo of Noah as well.
