it was an annual tradition for the avengers to go on a road trip.

steve always said it was "team bonding". it was honestly kind of fun.

better than the other "team bonding" you did, which mainly consisted of running long distances!!

anyways, they usually would do it soon after you, harley, peter, and miles finished school (also yes im including miles now bc i love him)

tony would come over the intercom while you all were lounging around and tell you to pack your bags.

packing is always a big issue.

let's just say that SOME people are big overpackers...

no offense to him but like ppl have had to sit in the trunk before because of him

and he overpacks with stuff that rly doesn’t make sense

like once y’all went to colorado

and he packed snorkeling equipment

and so you were like “scott. seriously?”

and he looked at you with such a serious face

“y/n. what if all the snow melts? then we would be underwater!! i have an extra snorkeling mask too. i was gonna give it to you, but now idk….”

the best part of having thor on a trip is that he will ALWAYS pick you up if you’re too tired

like once he had you and peter under both his arms like footballs bc u got tired

and clint was sad bc he was tired too

he tried to get scott to pick him up but scott wasn’t ready and they both fell and they like hit their heads

that was an interesting day

you started laughing at the quite obvious blunders of thor and clint in the intercom room

“thor, buddy? you don’t need to be kissing the mic when you speak, alright?”

tony, from another room, always quick with the jabs.

“AH! MY BAD STARK. HAHA! THIS MUST BE BETTER”

natasha just shook her head but you and peter, harley and miles were DYING

“ANYWAYS IT IS ROAD TRIP TIME. EVERYONE PACK UP AND BE IN THE FAMILY ROOM IN TEN MINUTES… what? MY MISTAKE. ONE HOUR. THAT’S RIGHT ONE HOUR.”

with that done, you all got up, groaning.

“uno.” natasha smirked at you, noticing that you only had one card.

“darn it!!!” you said. “well, doesn’t matter now. we have to go anyways.”

“we can always resume it later, y/n :) “ 

“fine, nat. but i’m going to win this time!! right bruce??”

“well, kid, you know i’m usually on your side, but…”

“aw, come on!!”

ok fast forward. 

you were in the family room

and here comes scott with his fifty bags

guys i wanted a cool tony nickname and tbh i just remember vaguely that sharpay had like suitcases on the cover of her movie i never even watched it so i could be wrong but that was my intention

“tony, these are my essentials.”

“scott, why don’t you just shrink that down? like seriously, man.” miles remarked, and you couldn’t help but agree.

“hey, y’know what? that’s a great idea miles!!”

and so he ended up shrinking his luggage

but then he couldn’t find it

anyways tony and happy did a lot of car assignment work

to make sure everyone would get there safely

but happy was holding the little bar

and he was like yelling at tony to slow down

meanwhile clint is just singing along to the music thats BLASTING

and u and peter are ready to accept ur deaths

like u literally texted sam a video of what was happening and he almost called happy to tell him to pull over 😭 

sam’s got ur back thats for sure!!

anyways tony pulled into a drive thru

bc he needed coffee

guys hes tony stark he needs stuff like that

and he got u and peter and clint happy meals :D

and clint was so excited like 💀

happy made sure u and peter had ur seatbelts on 

he said it was bc he didn’t want to have to explain to midtown why yall didnt come back for the next year 😭 

that and “too much paperwork”

anyways tony finally got it together

u and peter decided that he just needed an acoustic song on the radio bc as soon as something more relaxing came on he was a lot better lol

the rest of the drive was pretty alright

i'm gonna do another headcanon set about the avengers actually on vacation but yeah there ya go :)

"You're welcome." Harley's voice greeted Tony as he came around the corner with the file in his hands. He saw the kid was wearing a sort of disguise with a gray cowboy hat and colourful poncho. There were police cars parked outside of the bar, Officers come to bring their loyal dead back.

"For what? Did I miss something?" Tony asked casually.

"Me, saving your life." Harley clarified. He also punched Tony in the arm.

"Yeah. A, I saved you first. B, thanks. Sort of. And C, if you do someone a solid, don't' be a yutz. All right? Just play it cool. Otherwise you come off grandiose."

"Unlike you?" Harley asked as Tony unlocked the car with the stolen keys. Tony looked at the kid. "Admit it, you need me. We're connected."

"What I need is for you to go home, be with your mom, keep your trap shut, guard the suit, and stay connected to the telephone because if I call, you better pick up. Okay?" Tony asked. "Can you feel that? We're done here." He patted the kid on the shoulder once, "Move out of the way, or I'm gonna run you over. Bye kid."

Tony started up the car and then rolled down the window. He sighed, "I'm sorry kid. You did good."

"So now you're just gonna leave me here, like my dad?"

Tony thought about it. "Yeah." He paused, "Wait, you're guilt-tripping me, aren't you?"

"I'm cold." Harley scrunched up his shoulders.

"I can tell." Tony said in the same mocking sad voice. "You know how I can tell? Because we're connected." And with that, he drove away.

"You ever had a chick straddling you and you look up and suddenly she's glowing from the inside out, kind of a bright orange?" Tony asked.

"Yeah, I've had that. Who is this?" Rhodey's voice spoke on the other side.

"It's me, pal. Now, last time I went missing, if I remember correctly, you came looking for me. What are you doing?"

"A little knock-and-talk, making friends in Pakistan. What are you doing?"

"Your redesign, your big rebrand, that was AIM , right?"

"Yeah."

"I'm gonna find a heavy-duty comm sat right now. I need your login."

"It's the same as its' always been WarMachine68." Rhodey replied.

"And password, please?"

"Well, look, I gotta change it every time you hack it, Tony." Rhodey said, avoiding the question.

"It's not the 80's, nobody says 'hack' anymore. Give me your login."

Rhodey sighed, "War Machine rocks. With an X. All caps."

Tony laughed on the phone.

"Yeah, okay." Rhodey sighed.

"That is so much better than 'Iron Patriot.'"

Tony did an illegal U-turn in the middle of the road, in order to drive back to the parking lot of the building in front of him that was holding a Christmas pageant.

He managed to sneak in to one of the New vans and started to. . . for a lack of a better term. . . hack the system. "That ain't gonna cut it." He muttered, seeing the 9.5 FPS with a 74 Ping and a download speed of 9.1.

"We talked about this," Tony heard someone say as there was a clattering sound and the van door was opened a little bit. "Excuse me sir. I don't know who-"

Tony turned around in the spiny chair with a finger pressed to his lips. "Shh."

The man's mouth dropped and Tony lowered his finger, grinning. "Mom, I need to call you back. Something magical is happening." Tony attempted to make sure the man stayed quiet by making various shushing sounds. "Tony Stark is in my van!"

"Shh! Keep it down."

"Tony Stark is in my van."

"No, he's not."

"I knew you were still alive!"

"Come on in. Close the door." he hissed.

"Wow, can I just say sir-"

"Yeah."

"I am your biggest fan."

"Okay. First, is this your van? Is anyone else gonna come in?"

"No, no, no. Just us."

"Great. What's your name?"

"Gary."

"Gary." They shook hands.

"Oh wow." Gary sighed, putting a second hand over Tony's.

"Right there is fine." Tony grinned awkwardly. He was used to this, but it was still just a little weird.

"Okay."

"Okay? I get a lot of this, it's okay."

"Oh, good. Can I just say?"

"What do you want? Yeah."

"I don't know if you can tell, but I have like, patterned my whole look after you. My hair's a little-"

"It's fine." Tony cringed.

"It's not right, 'cause there's no product in it."

"Right." Tony said, trying not to get to frustrated.

"I don't want to make things awkward for you, but I do have to show you- Boom!" He held his arm out to show off the Tony Stark tattoo on his arm.

Wonderful.

"A Hispanic Scott Baio. I'm sorry. Is that me?" Tony asked, pointing to it.

"Yeah. It's- I mean- I had them do it off a doll that I made, so it's not like it's off a picture. So it's a little bit-"

Tony had reached the end of his tether, grabbing Gary by the shoulders. "Gary. Listen to me, okay? I don't want to clip your wings here. We're both a little over-excited. I got an issue. I'm chasing bad guys. I'm trying to grab a little something from some hard-crypt data files. I don't have enough juice. I need you to jump on the roof- right? Recalibrate the ISDNs. Pump it up by about 40%."

"Got it." Gary barley breathed out.

"All right? It's a mission."

"Yeah."

"Tony needs Gary."

"And Gary needs Tony."

Ew. No. He'd stick with Y/N.

"Be quiet about it. Go."

"Yeah."

Once he got the go ahead that the power was up, he managed to get into the files. He fought against the restrictions, before he finally found some files in the AIM section. There were a bunch of faces with audio recordings, and the first one he turned on was the one of Mrs. Davis' boy.

"What would you regard as the defining moment of your life?" A voice that was off camera asked.

"Well, uh, I think that would be the day I decided not to let my injury beat me."

Tony clicked next on the woman who had attacked him outside the bar. In the video, her right arm was cut off at the elbow, healed over. But it was very obvious from the fight that she had both hands.

"Will you please state your name for the camera?"

"Ellen Brandt."

"Okay. So the injections are administered periodically." The voice sounded somewhat familiar and when the camera changed, Tony saw Aldrich Killian' there. "Addiction will not be tolerated. And those who cannot regulate will be cut off from the programme."

Tony found his next clip, which was a cleaner version of Killian speaking, his hair pulled back in a ponytail. "Once misfits, cripples, You are the next iteration of human evolution."

Tony hit another key and saw four different cameras of doctors and patients moving along a hallway. "Everybody, before we start- I promise you, looking back at your life, there will be nothing as bitter as the memory of that glorious risk you prudently elected to forego."

They were put into what looked like standing gurneys. Metal plates came down around their shoulders, as though there were about to go on a roller coaster ride. "Today is your glory. Let's begin."

He watched as Ellen's arm started to grow, her screams of pain echoing, making him flinch almost. Her arm looked as though it was forming out of molten lava, while the rest of her body glowed orange.

The boy next to her started to scream, his entire body lit with orange. "We gotta get out of here! We gotta get out of here!" Killian demanded, turning away from the man who was screaming in agony. "Get her out! Get them out of here!" The man glowed so brightly that he exploded.

"A bomb is not a bomb when it's a misfire." Tony whispered under his breath. "The stuff doesn't always work, right pal? It's faulty, but you found a buyer, didn't you? Sold it to the Mandarin." Tony snapped his fingers. "Got you pal."

"What happened. Fun fact. Before he built rockets for the Nazis, the idealistic Wernher von Braun dreamed of space travel. He stargazed. Do you know what he said when the first V-2 hit London? 'The Rocket performed perfectly. It just landed on the wrong planet'. See, we all begin wide-eyed. Pure science." Maya smiled. "And then the ego steps in, the obsession. And you look up, you're a long way from shore."

"You can't be to hard on yourself Maya." You said softly as you carefully put Everleigh down on the chair.

You had taken a nap while Maya had driven. You had left the directions for Clint and Natasha's cabin in Colorado on the dashboard. When you'd woken up, it was off and you were pulling into a hotel because Maya said the both of you needed sleep.

Couldn't really argue with that, your entire body hurt from sleeping in the car.

Now the two of you were going to share a hotel room tonight and hopefully make the rest of the journey to Colorado tomorrow. You shouldn't be to far away. You had really thought you'd make it tonight.

Of course, your phone was still on recording mode. You wanted to make sure that Fury had every scrap of information available. You'd slipped outside to call and had talked to Nat, Fury, Clint, and Steve all at the same time. Steve was supposed to get to the cabin tomorrow, he was waiting for his second flight. You'd both probably get there around the same time.

Fury wasn't joining the rest of you, going to stay at one of the SHIELD bases, but regardless, he wanted to be kept in the loop.

"I mean, you gave your research to a think tank." You continued, tucking a blanket around Everleigh now. There was no crib in the room and the chair was the next best thing. She was tiny enough that she could sleep comfortably on the chair, the chair was comfortable, and she also wouldn't fall off.

"Yeah, but Killian built that think tank on military contracts."

"That's exactly what Tony's company used to do." You shrugged again. "So don't judge yourself."

"Thank you Y/N. I really appreciate that."

There was suddenly a knock at the hotel door. You quickly went to the door, knowing that it was room service for the three of you. You needed to feed Everleigh soon, and to make sure you had ample milk, you yourself needed to be fed.

"Hi, good evening. Come on in." You said happily, opening the door as wide as it could go to make sure that he could get the cart in.

"Good evening." He said back.

You turned to look over your shoulder for one second, and saw Killian standing behind the server, his hands snapping his neck.

"MAYA RUN!" You shouted, leaping backwards towards Everleigh. You screamed as he caught you around your upper arm, his hand burning hot.

"Hello Y/N." Killian said smoothly as he tossed you against the wall. You crashed against it, landing on the floor next to your phone. His hand came down, holding you around the neck to the floor. He looked up and over at Maya. "So you want to tell me why you were at Stark's mansion last night?"

"I'm trying to fix this thing!" Maya said angrily. "I didn't know you and the master were gonna blow the place up."

"Oh I see. So, you were trying to save Stark when he threatened us?" Killian asked.

You struggled in Killian's grasp, feeling both scared and frustrated. How could you fail to get out of this life-threatening chokehold when you had fought aliens only a year before?

Lack of training, you realized. You hadn't done any Agent training in months. You were out of practice.

"I've told you, Killian, we can use him." Maya huffed.

You grasped at Killian's face, but his arm was longer, leaving you at the disadvantage since he could hold is body further away.

"Y/N. Y/N. Y/N." He said, inching away from your fingers.

"Look, if we want to launch product next year, I need Stark." Maya continued. "He just lacked a decent incentive. Now, he has two."

"You heard all that, right?" Steve asked harshly as he delayed getting on the next plane.

"Yes, Rogers, I heard that." Fury said in an exasperated voice. "And I will track her down. Barton, Romanoff, be ready to leave when Rogers gets there."

"Yes Sir." Natasha's voice was soft on the other end of the group call.

"We'll see you when you get here Cap." Clint's voice was friendly on the other side.

"Right." Steve sighed, hanging up with a bit of difficulty before boarding the plane. He looked out the window, feeling nauseous. These airplanes were definitely different from the quinjets. He didn't like them as much. They felt to. . . vulnerable.

And it wasn't as fast as the quinjets. Speed was needed. What if he got there to late to do anything? He tried to text Clint and Nat to go without him, that he'd catch up, but he wasn't sure if the text sent. It was hard enough dealing with new technology with the weird airplane interference.

Steve tried to relax into the plane, running his fingers along his own tattoo, a little golden retriever.

He closed his eyes, trying to remember the feeling of wind through his fur, and the happy feeling that came with his soulmate. Of running, jumping into-

Steve was jolted out of his peaceful thoughts as the plane took off. His hand dropped from his soulmate mark. It didn't matter anymore.

He just had to focus on saving Starks'.

Bucky had never been one to keep too busy. He liked things low key, relaxed, casual. Even while Sam, himself, and you were reforming the Avengers, he always made time for you, his best friend.

Deep down, though, you knew you both weren't just friends. Late nights drinking beer and dancing were enough to tell you that you both were more than just friends. It seemed like Bucky knew it too, seeing as he refused to go on any dates Sam tried to set up or even download Tinder, which he wouldn't have done anyways.

After a long, hard few months of trying to find funding, Clint had suggested Kate Bishop, his somewhat protege, who happened to be rich as fuck as you'd later find out. After seeing her skills, you knew she was perfect for the team.

Kate was quick to suggest Yelena, who took a week and a half longer than Kate to convince, meaning it took her a week and a half to say yes after what she called, 'obsessive behavior' of finding her and begging her to join.

Now, the Avengers were back, and slowly becoming better. Sam was busy working out arrangements with the government while Kate bought the necessary equipment for you all. Yelena was focused on making the best uniforms for you all (filled with many pockets), and Bucky was focused on finding leads to focus on. You, on the other hand, handled the press that was looming over you all.

Even with all of that, Bucky made time for you. However, it was becoming apparent he was finding excuses to not see you.

It began with the excuses that he was busy with leads.

"Buck!" You called in a sing-song voice as you walked in the room he was sat in. "I just bought us a twelve pack, and I think Star Wars is calling our names." You smiled as you walked up next to him.

He barely even looked up from his computer screen, "I can't tonight. I think I have a lead and I need to focus before it goes off-grid."

Okay, that seemed totally reasonable. "Oh, of course. Maybe tomorrow," You smiled.

"Maybe," Bucky said, voice so nonchalant you weren't sure if he had even registered your voice. So, you said a soft goodbye and left the room, feeling confused and awkward.

The next time it happened, it was four days later. Bucky was sat on the computer again when you approached. "Hey Bucky, I was wondering if you wanted to take a nighttime drive on your Harley? It's been a while since we've ridden."

"Outta gas," Bucky's voice was monotone as he replied. "Some other time."

Immediately, it felt like a punch to the gut, which you've felt more than once and this one hurt worse. "Oh, yeah." You muttered as you walked away.

That night, you contemplated everything that had been happening. What had you done to upset Bucky to the point of avoiding you? There had to be some reasonable explanation to this, right? The only way to find out for sure was to get Bucky to actually speak to you again.

When the morning came, you woke up extra early. Bucky was an early riser. You weren't sure if that was from his time in the military or Hydra. You made your way to his room where he was absent. It took just a moment to see the steam leaking from under his bathroom door for you to figure out he was showering. As you looked around his room, you looked at the table next to his bed and saw your target: his dog tags.

Bucky never did anything without those on. They were a part of him, and you'd never even seen him without them on. Maybe it was a bit too invasive, but it felt like the only solid way to get Bucky to speak to you.

You carefully walked up to his nightstand and grabbed the tags, looping them around your neck and tucking them under your shirt. The metal was cold on your sternum, and you had to wonder if the coolness of the tags reminded Bucky of his arm.

The thought was quickly thrown to the side as the noise of running water disappeared. You quickly made your way out of his room, making sure to be extra silent due to his super soldier hearing. You shut the door as quietly as you could and made your way to your room where you collapsed on your bed, the adrenaline of it all making you feel out of breath.

You looked at the clock, six forty-three. The time began now to see how long it took for Bucky to realize you were the thief of his dog tags.

Bucky felt the panic rise on his chest when he saw that his dog tags were not on his nightstand where he left them after getting up. He had the same routine: wake up, take off his tags, and shower.

He searched all around the area to see if they fell. No luck. Bucky felt stumped about where they could be.

There was no way they could've fallen off at any point yesterday. Sam and him spent the evening sparring, and he would've told Bucky if he'd seen the tags laying around. Plus, Bucky remembered taking them off when he woke up.

So where could they possibly be?

They couldn't have broken and fallen off without him noticing, right? They were tags from the forties, there was a chance they just didn't withstand the test of time. Bucky always knew they were on him, though. Those tags were almost a part of his body. He would have felt if they weren't on.

Then, it hit him. The only person who knew just how much they meant to Bucky was you. Was there any way you had taken them?

Bucky quickly made his way to your room, knocking on the door a little bit harsher than he intended too. He looked at the clock that was hung on the wall next to him, it was seven o'eight. There was no chance you were awake.

The door opened slowly and a very anxious looking you. All Bucky could see was just your head, the rest of your body was hidden behind the door.

"Well, look who's come to see me." You said in a flat tone.

Bucky sighed, "I'm sorry, I've been busy. Have you seen my tags?"

His abruptness made you flash your eyebrows upward. "Your dog tags?"

"The only tags I wear," Bucky sighed, growing more frustrated by the situation as the second hand on the clock ticked. It was then that Bucky spotted a flash of silver from the small part of your neck. He pushed the door open further and was able to spot the chain just peaking out from your shirt.

Before Bucky got a chance to say anything, your eyes became watery. A small sense of newfound panic coursed through Bucky's veins. "You kept blowing me off," Your voice sounded small and fragile as you admitted your feelings to Bucky.

"Doll, you know I didn't mean too." Bucky sighed as you sat down on your bed. He was quick to follow, sitting thigh to thigh with you.

"But you were so mean," Bucky didn't think he could feel his heart break more until he heard you small voice call him mean. You were right, he was being mean, but it wasn't on purpose.

Bucky set his hand over your own, his thumb grazing over your knuckles. "M' sorry, Doll. I didn't mean to be mean." Bucky sighed, his head hanging in a sense of shame. He'd never meant to hurt you.

"Why?" You asked in reply, looking at him with confusion.

Bucky stuttered over his words for a moment, taking a breath to calm himself. "I realized that my feelings for you aren't just.."

"Friendly?" You offered. Bucky's eyes flashed to your face, surprise taking over his features. He didn't know you also realized it, too.

"Yeah, that." Bucky nodded. "And I got scared." Bucky sighed, his metal hand rubbing over his face as he took a shaky breath. "I never expected myself to feel this way about someone, especially someone so good."

You felt your heart melt at Bucky's words. "Buck," You mumbled, flipping over the hand that was over yours so your fingers intertwined.

"I never meant to hurt you, doll." Bucky reiterated, looking at you with a gentle care. "Please, forgive me."

"Only if you forgive me for taking these," You replied, hand slipping from his so you could take off his tags.

You set them in his hand as he stared at them. "You know exactly what to do to get my attention, huh?" His next move surprised you, his hands going behind your head as you felt the coolness of the chain relaxing around your neck once more.

"Bucky, no. I can't-"

"I want you too," Bucky urged, staring deep into your eyes. "They're yours. I'm yours."

You felt your heart warm at his words. "Are you sure?"

"I've never been more sure of anything, doll." Bucky replied, a soft smile playing his lips as you enclosed your fist around the tags.

"I'll guard them with my life," You promised.

Bucky exhaled, "I know you will."

Notes: This is pretty short and end kind of abruptly, but it’s been in my drafts for so long and I like it too much to delete it. So, enjoy :)

Summary: It had been 5 years for you and 5 seconds for Peter. So to say it’s a bit of a shock for him to find you in the arms of someone else is an understatement.

When the battle was over and Tony was gone, all Peter could think about was you.

How would you react to finding out your dad was dead? That he’d saved the universe and it cost him his life? It had taken you so long to get reacquainted with him and now he was gone.

And what about seeing him again? According to Doctor Strange, it had been five years. It baffled his mind to think that he’d missed out on five years with his loved ones.

What had changed?

"Where do we go now?” Rhodey asked, standing up and stepping away from where Peter and Pepper were still crouched, trying not to cry.

“Home, I suppose,” Steve replied, fighting his own tears. “I think everyone deserves that.”

So, Doctor Strange conjured up portals like he had before. But instead of leading people into battle, the portals lead home. To Wakanda, to New Asgard, to Clint’s farm, and, for many of the main Avengers, to Tony and Pepper’s home.

When they walked through it, Peter almost couldn’t believe that the rich and fancy Tony Stark had lived in this little house by a lake.

He noticed you sitting on the porch swing. Your hair had changed, along with a few more subtle things that come with time, but he could still tell that it was you. 

What he didn’t know was who was sitting next to you, and why you were cuddled into his side.

You lifted your head when you saw them walk through the portal, getting the guy next to you’s attention, immediately knowing something was wrong.

“Mommy!” A little girl came running out of the house, little feet pattering down the wooden steps.

“Morgan, honey, stay up there by your sister.” Pepper shouted in reply, causing the little girl to pause her movements.

Morgan. Peter thought. Tony had another daughter while he was gone?

“Morgan, come here,” You said, reaching your hand out for her.

Peter felt himself tear up a little again, hearing your voice. He started to realize how long it had been since he’d talked to you and how angry you would be that he went and got himself into trouble again.

The thought almost made him laugh.

You lifted Morgan up, setting her on your lap and pulling her to your chest, whispering something to her so she kept her face hidden.

Bruce walked through the portal next, when Rhodey gave him the okay, carrying Tony’s body.

Peter could see the way you gasped, holding a hand to your mouth. The guy next to you wrapped his arm around you and you buried your head into his neck, crying.

The sight made Peter want to start crying again, too.

“Keep your head down, Morgan,” the guy said, running a gentle hand through your hair.

“Take him over to the barn, please,” Pepper said, barely above a whisper as she refrained from breaking. “Don’t let Morgan see.”

Bruce headed that direction, followed by Steve, Thor, Sam, and Bucky.

Pepper spared Peter a look, noticing how he couldn’t take his eyes off you.

“Come on, Peter,” She said, gently, beginning her walk to the deck of her house. Peter followed her.

“Mommy!” Morgan shouted, clumsily climbing off her sister’s lap to run into her mother’s arms. Her face full of happy ignorance.

Peter and you caught eyes and he could see the endless emotions swirling in your eyes when his name rolled off your lips, like you couldn’t believe it was him: “Peter.”

He wasn’t sure what to say, his eyes welling up with tears that threatened to spill over when you got up from the swing and wrapped him in a tight hug.

He hugged you back and for a minute it was like nothing had really changed as you cried into his shoulder.

“I thought I’d never see you again,” you whispered.

“It’s okay,” he replied. “I’m right here.”

Peter opened his eyes to look at the man on the swing. He didn’t recognize him, but he guessed you and he were the same age; five years older than Peter now.

You pulled back from the hug and wiped your eyes. Then you noticed him glancing over your shoulder.

“Oh...” you said.

You walked over the guy and held your hand out. He smiled at you, taking your hand and standing up.

“Peter, this is Harley,” You said, turning to face him. “My fiancé.”

Oh. Oh.

Peter’s eyes shot to your left hand, only now noticing the ring that sparkled there.

Five years.

Peter swallowed hard. “Oh, that’s- that’s great, Y/N. Congratulations.”

The guy (Harley) looked at him sadly, almost with pity. It made Peter’s blood boil for no good reason.

“Hey, I think we need a second,” you told Harley. “Could you go see if mom needs anything?”

Mom. You called Pepper ‘mom’ now. That was also new.

Harley nodded and headed inside, leaving you and Peter alone.

At first, he hadn’t noticed many changes in you. Sure, the hair was different, but you still looked like you.

And now, looking closer, he noticed the five years.

You had more smile lines and small wrinkles around your eyes, and they had a new wise-ness to them they didn’t before. You also carried yourself differently, more relaxed. Like you were no longer afraid to do something that would upset the press because Tony’s your dad.

“I’m sorry, uh,” You rubbed your arm up and down with one hand. A nervous tick that hadn’t changed. “This must all be hard for you.”

“You just lost your dad,” Peter replied. “It’s hard for you, too.”

“We both lost him,” you decided, tears pooling in your eyes. “But I’ve grieved before and I’ll do it again.”

Avoiding the subject of your relationship, Peter asked, “Did Aunt May-”

“Blipped too,” You replied. “Same with Ned and MJ.”

“Oh,” It felt wrong to say ‘good’ but at least he wouldn’t be completely alone like this.

Silence fell between you for a few moments before you found the courage to explain.

“Harley was one of dad’s protege’s, too. Before you.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah...from when he got lost in Tennessee. They bonded and dad kept tabs on him ever since. We met for the first time around then, but we’re both attending MIT and found each other there.” You said. “I didn’t really date anyone after you were gone...dad and I grieved you together. You were the only thing we ever agreed on.”

Peter couldn’t help but laugh.

It made you smile.

“But we had to move on. At the time we didn’t think there was anything we could do. The world was changing and we had to grow with it. I went to MIT and met Harley again and we just...connected. I fell in love with him. We’ve been together three years now. Engaged for hardly a month.”

Peter smiled sadly. “I’m happy for you, Y/N, I really am but, to me, just yesterday we were cuddling and watching movies together...”

“I wish there was something I could do...” you said.

That hadn’t changed either. You were just like Tony, always wanting to save everyone.

“Can you hug me one last time? Then give me a phone to call Aunt May?”

You laughed. “The hugs aren’t going anywhere, Peter. I still love you...just not in the same way.”

The two of you embraced and Peter sighed against you. This wasn’t going to be easy.

“Hey,”

You broke apart to see Harley standing in the doorway. “Sorry to interrupt, but Pepper's trying to cook.”

“Oh my god, stop her!” You said. “She’s not cooking tonight. Do we have any frozen pizza?”

You fell right back into a comfortable state when Harley arrived, ready to rely on him for anything. That wasn’t a way you felt when you were dating Peter. He was glad to see the weight lifted off your shoulders.

You passed Harley at the door and he smiled awkwardly at Peter before following you.

Peter stood there for a moment, silently mourning the love he lost, and headed for the barn with the other avengers.

tony stark is an awesome dad. 

like he just goes above and beyond to make you smile.

it’s well-known that he spoils everyone at the compound, but since you’re his daughter, he spoils you A LOT.

you’ll come home from school often to find a little box on your bed, and it’s always something you either had mentioned in passing, or something that you didn’t even know you needed. 

like you got into crocheting for a little bit. you now have buckets full of multicolored yarns in every texture and color one could ever need!!

also i feel like when you told him your favorite ice cream was the same flavor as his favorite, he literally almost burst with excitement.

and now you ALWAYS have that ice cream.

he even built a little gadget that only lets you and him eat out of it.

the only exception to the rule is happy, as thor painfully found out one day.

he went to have some and it shocked him, but happy just reached in and got it anyway.

also if you’re tony stark’s daughter, i just have to say what an iconic trio you, your dad, and happy are.

like y’all always look so badass with matching shades or whatever.

you got matching shirts for you three for christmas and they both reluctantly wore it.

natasha took like fifteen pictures and steve was literally on the floor dying because he thought it was so funny.

anyways one of the coolest things about being tony stark’s daughter are the gadgets.

for example, you have a lot of clothes. but guess what? you don’t ever have to do laundry.

all of your clothes are put in this special hamper. it washes, dries, and folds/hangs the clothes up for you, then puts them away in a neat fashion. 

you have a high tech mirror (ala cher from clueless!!!!) where you can “try on” outfits before you actually retrieve them to wear.

it’s kind of awesome?

bruce made that joke once and tony locked him out of the lab. then peter tried to make it too and tony made him go “test” a robot that blocks people out of a room HAHA

there was a group of kids who seemed really excited to go out with you, but then you realized it was all for social media clout and that they expected gifts and stuff.

so you ended up exploding on them, and it gave your dad some bad press.

you were so embarrassed that you locked yourself in your room, refusing to come out.

happy left some tea outside but you didn’t want it.

so then finally tony came in.

then he said one day he would come up with a loser detector so that you wouldn't have to go through something like that again.

and he was only half joking, so you just laughed.

but deep down, you were happy to have someone who cared for you as much as your dad, tony stark, did.

Welcome to the Problematic MCU Ship Tournament!

This blog will pit 64 different pairings against one another. All of them are in some way “problematic”- some feature a minor and an adult, others feature incestuous pairings, others still simply have questionable or potentially abusive dynamics. Many ships combine elements of more than one.

Each day, 4 polls will be posted pitting two different ships together (for a total of 8 ships per day). You are free to vote in as many or as few of these polls as you’d like.

This blog is explicitly pro-ship and anti-censorship, and obviously features dark themes. If this is a point of discomfort for you, you are free to block this blog, I don’t bite. Hate towards anyone (and anything unreasonably rude about ships or characters) will not be published and users that send it will be blocked. Nothing explicit will be posted to this blog, regardless of the ship, so minors are free to interact if they so wish.

Synopsis: This takes place in Avengers: Age of Ultron. When The Avengers were at the rock bottom, Nick Fury and advised by Maria Hill, to initiate the B.A.B.Y Protocol. Will a young, damaged and broke girl agree to this initiative and help a team to save this planet earth?

“There, that’s the truck from the lab. Right above you, Cap. By the bridge, it’s them. Got three with the cradle. I can take out the driver.” Clint was ready to shoot the truck but Steve disagree. “Negative. The truck crash, the gem could level the city. We need to draw out Ultron.” He jumps on the truck to get its attention.

Well, he did get its attention and it pissed. “No, no, no. Leave me alone!” Ultron shoot the truck door almost hit Steve. “Well, he is really unhappy! I’m trying to keep it that way!” Steve shouted while hanging on the broken door.

“You’re not a match for him, Cap.” Clint stated. “Thanks Barton.” Steve muttered.

Natasha sees the situation from their jet. “He needs help.” “I guess you wanna unpack your birthday present.” Clint told her to go behind the jet and wait for his queue. She pressed the button for the metal box and saw an electric Harley Davidson and mutter to herself. “That’s a birthday present.” She hops on the bike and waiting for Clint’s to open the bay. “We got a window. In 3,2, give him hell.”

The fights between them and the robots can take too much time and damaged. Natasha make other plans to their original plan of taking the cradle safely because it’s not working out so safe. “This isn’t going nowhere. Clint, can you draw the guards out?”

Clint shooting at Ulron in front of Steve trying to lure the minions out. “Let’s find out.” Three of the guard out and the truck is empty.

“Cap, keep him occupied. I’m going in!” Natasha drop her bike and jump into the truck.

Steve let out an exhausting breath. “What do you think I’ve been doing?”

Meanwhile at the tower, you walk on Maria and Fury’s discussion. “How’s everything? Did they get him?” Maria and Fury acknowledge your present and she pull a chair for you. “You should be on bed.” You just sat slowly on it. “Nah, I’ve been worse. This is nothing.”

Maria rolling her eyes at you. “You’ve been dead for 6 minutes until Tony change your device. What are worse than that?” You don’t have answer for that and Fury coming at you too. “And when are you planning on telling us? Next Christmas?” “I don’t even ask for it and I like to keep it shut. It’s not something to be proud of.” He huffs, “Once this is over, you’re going to see a doctor.” “Why everybody keeps telling me to find a doctor? I’ve been fine all this time. I’m here not to be taking care of. I’m here because the world is at stake and I’m here to help. Doing something, at least.”

“Proof that. Until then, you’re off the mission. Agent Hill, follow me to pick up our old stuff back.” Fury order. “Can I tag along?” Maria turns to you. “We’ll be back. Why don’t you help us monitoring them for us? Use this for contact and maybe help Stark and Banner. But please, for the love of God, don’t ever piss him off.” She walks out of the room, following Fury.

Bruce notice you’re walking towards them. “How’s your feeling?” “Just another day at the office. Still getting the hang of it.”

Tony and Bruce watched and heard some of your conversation earlier. “Gotta admit. I adore your spirit.” Tony expressed. “I never thank you, to both of you yet. Thank you, for saving my life.” Bruce smiling softly and nod. “You’re welcome.”

“Are you kidding? We’re a team. We’re the Avengers. Once you step a foot in this building, you’re the Avengers. We help each other. Well, maybe some of us being a pain in ass but yeah, you’re one of us now. Welcome to the club kid.” Tony reasoned it for you and your eyes lit up on them. “Really? You mean that? Am I, an Avengers?” Tony looking at Bruce while he continues working on his computer. “Bruce. Back me up here.” “I don’t see why not. You’re young and we’re all above 30. We can use a fresh blood.” “Legacy. Thanks Shrek.” Tony responded and you let out a chuckle “I guess you’re the one being the pain in ass.” “Everyone asses” Bruce nod down and we’ll continue our work.

While trying to crack the code for that cradle, Natasha feels the truck lifting. “The package just air borne. I have a clean shot.” Clint tell them on the comm. “Negative. I am still in the truck.” she needs to think fast.

“What the hell did you...” Natasha cut his sentences while cutting the rope that tied to the cradle. “Just be ready. I’m sending the package to you.”

Clint ready on his position. “How do you want me to take it?”

“Uhhh… You might wish you didn’t ask that.”

Wanda fly in the train to help Steve and front the Ultron. “Please. You don’t have to do that.” Somehow, Ultron is kinda sound scared and he fly out the train. “Surveillance in our path. Can you stop this train?” Steve ordered and both of them do their best to stop the train and people around it.

Once the cradle touches the Quinn jet floor, Ultron manage to snatch Natasha’s leg and take her with him. “Nat!” Clint saw the incident but he can’t do anything to help her while piloting the jet. “Cap, did you see Nat?”

“If you have the cradle, take it to Stark!” Steve ordered.

“Do you have eyes on Nat?!” Asking again for confirmation.

“Go!” Steve shout.

Wanda telling Steve about what Ultron’s plan. “I read him. Ultron can’t tell the difference between saving the world and destroying it. We have to move fast.”

He disappointed and fly that jet back to the tower and leave his friend behind. “Damn it!” He contact the tower when he’s close for them to prepare and inform about their current situation. “Quinn jet to tower. Quinn jet to tower.” You hear his voice and press a button to accept his call. “Quinn jet, this is Y/N speaking from the tower. You’re affirm to report.” Clint told you that he’s 15 minutes away to arrive and Natasha is missing in action. “Oh God.” You pull down the headset and running to find Tony and Bruce. “They’ve got Nat. She’s m.i.a.” Bruce takes his glasses off. “You have her tracker right?” Tony rush to his computer “I’ll find her.”

You and Banner helps Clint unload the cradle and bring it into the lab and Tony walks in. Disappointment shows on his face and Bruce ask before I do. “Did you find her?” He just walks straight toward the cradle. “Haven’t heard but I’m sure she’s alive or Ultron would rub us in the face.” Seriously? Did he truly find her at all? You want to ask him that but Clint change the topic. “This seal tight.” He stands next to you.

Tony turn around to look at both of you and Clint, ignoring Bruce. “Is there any chance she might leave a massage outside the internet? Old school spy stuff perhaps.”

“You worry about the cradle.”

“We’ll find her.” Both you and Clint walks out that lab.

Clint handle the modern tech frequency while you handle the old one. “You okay with that? Wanna switch up?” You tuning on the frequency “I’m good. I can’t be near that high tech frequency anyway. That’s why I still have my Walkman and not Bluetooth headset. You know, because my…” You pointing at your left chest and he nodding. “Right. I hope she led us somewhere.” You smile at him. “She’s Natasha. She’ll make plan.”

It is true. Natasha did figure something out. While you tuning the frequency, you hear a static note. Tuning it again to have a clear shot. Natasha sending you her location by Morse code. You tell Clint to decode it on the screen. “You’re right. She did have plan.”
