You know, I feel like a diary/blog comic with a non-conflict plot isn’t a bad thing. Some comics, such as Tigerknight’s College Catastrophe/Nine to Nine, Curtailed (another semi-autobiography webcomic), Happymart, and any other comic taking an author’s real-life events and putting a spin on them in their respective webcomics, work out pretty well. They’re all reasonably funny, relatable, and entertaining to see characters go through or talk about these situations, yet when I try applying that to Jon’s comics, they feel lacking. Maybe the problem is that Jon isn’t a very funny guy—the fact that, unless he’s writing an actual story or character arc, he doesn’t do a lot with whatever good or bad life circumstances and people he’s encountered that he likes to add into his comics outside of just wanting to usually dump large amounts of information about them in his author’s notes—or maybe it’s both, really. Personally, I believe Peter & Whitney has it worse than Peter & Company when it comes to that last possibility, but honestly, what do you think the problem is?

I...guess it’s just the fact Jon’s biggest weakness is his tendency to integrate real events and real people into stories. Like you said, he just wants to talk about stuff in his author’s notes. It’s more often not necessary than it is. I will probably elaborate more in my review.
