For the most part, what bothers me about this whole dreamcatcher thing is like U said, its been 4-6 years of them being Dreamcatcher. Its hard for me to see past the fact that now that they are gaining traction and recognition, that this becomes more prominent with the antis they’re getting now. But i also know that CA is a very serious topic and this was probably going on from the very beginning of their debut as well. Im not gunna lie, as an indigenous person i was hesitant to even give their music a try bcuz of their name, and I watched their MVs expecting cringey indigenous portrayals come up at some point but they never did. However i am not from the ojibwe tribe so i cannot speak on their behalf but i also acknowledge the fact that the intent of Dreamcatcher’s name origin was intended to have the same purpose/meaning as the dreamcatcher’s functionality/purpose in the ojibwe tribe. Part of me also thinks that maybe they are in the middle of rebranding anyways because why slap a whole new logo of the DC on a lightstick and cape if ur not trying to move away from dreamcatcher symbols?

I get what you're saying. I'm not gonna lie, I was unaware of the origin of Dreamcatcher (like I didn't know that it was a native American thing) it was a few months ago when I find out the meaning and stuff (I've been stanning them for 2.5 years now). A friend of mine that is a native American told me about it. And she also doesn't see any problem with this. I honestly believe that this entire situation has to do with their popularity. The more popular you become, the more haters you attract. (Again this is my take on this and again I'm not belittling the culture. But I don't consider this CA).

Idk about the "rebranding" thing... I mean... Many groups change their logos after a few years of debut. But making a whole ass petition for them to change their name is absurd. Let's say they do change their name, it's not going to be the same. Their career/concept is based on dreams. I honestly can't imagine them going under another name (esp since they broke records under DC). But of course it's not for me to decide. The thing that saddens me the most about this is the harassment of the girls. It's not like they're the ones that came up with the name and concept etc. People plan on joining the fansign just to tell them to change the name. That's fucked up.

I apologize I got out of the topic a bit but yeah... I honestly hope for HappyFace Ent. to release a statement or smth to clear these things up.

so i have a few friends who’ve been wanting to get into vav but dunno where to start so... i’ll just do this lil thing. obviously there’s gonna be my own opinions so don’t take everything i say to heart but like... here we go

vav (very awesome voice -- pronounced vee-ay-vee but i say vav bc im lazy) debuted in 2015, but when they debuted they had a different lineup. zehan, xiao, and gyeoul all left to pursue other activities. ziu, lou, and ayno joined the group in 2017! the fandom is called vampz because of the groups original concept but we don’t talk about that

O “Pesadelo” sem fim do Dreamcatcher, um ‘da capo¹’ dentro da fantasia, o 4º mini-álbum “The End of Nightmare”.

A história de um pesadelo que cativou o mundo todo agora chega perto de seu fim, através do novo álbum do Dreamcatcher, “The End of Nightmare”.

O “pesadelo” do Dreamcatcher começou em 13 de janeiro de 2017. O pesadelo que elas representaram continuou a evoluir desde então. De Prequel até a era moderna, ele continuou mudando, cativando o mundo inteiro. Pode se afirmar com certeza que o crescimento extraordinário do Dreamcatcher além da Coréia, realçado por suas duas turnês mundiais, se deu graças a este conceito.

Em seu primeiro álbum, “Nightmare”, cada integrante do Dreamcatcher toma forma de um pesadelo e nos visita. São temores comuns que nós temos, como “o sonho em que você é perseguido por alguém: JiU”; “o sonho em que você é observado: Handong”; “o sonho em que você está preso em um espaço fechado: Siyeon”; “o sonho em que você cai de um lugar alto: Gahyeon”; “o sonho em que você não consegue mover seu corpo: SuA”; “o sonho em que você vaga por lugares desconhecidos: Yoohyeon”; e “o sonho em que você se fere: Dami”; estes foram os feitos maliciosos do Dreamcatcher.

Sua história continuou em “Nightmare - fall asleep in the mirror”. A perversidade do Dreamcatcher acorda a natureza bruta dentro do caçador de pesadelos, e a perseguição entre o caçador e os sete pesadelos começa. O convite do caçador, a fuga que se segue, a captura dos pesadelos e a perseguição desesperada que acontece para salvá-los continua dando voltas e mais voltas, não deixando o espectador relaxar até o fim.

Foi assim que a linha de história em “Nightmare” prosseguiu, mas ainda ficou um mistério não resolvido. Era “como as garotas se transformaram em pesadelos”. Elas apresentaram a resposta para essa pergunta em seu primeiro mini álbum “Prequel”, satisfazendo perfeitamente o gosto de Somnias ao redor do mundo.
