Shock (Shiki x Rebecca One Shot)

Shiki could only watch in shock as Rebecca fell. Blood exited the Cat Leaper’s mouth, her right side and her chest having been pierced.

The gravity boy catches her before she hit the ground. She doesn’t appear to be moving. She doesn’t appear to be moving at all.

Shiki’s shock quickly turns into panic.

“H-hey, R-Rebecca,” he says, his voice noticeably starting to shake. “W-why aren’t you moving? Wake up. Wake up, dammit.”

No response.

“Please say something!” He shouts tearfully, shaking the girl’s body, hoping and praying for any kind of response. “Say something, Rebecca! Please!”

The only response Shiki would get from Rebecca was her head tilting to the left. Her body was already limp and seemingly lifeless.

"B-Be-Becca?" He muttered. And that's when he see it.

Blood on his hands. Her blood.

Shiki's panic turns into horrifying realization.

Rebecca was now dying in his arms.

She was now dying because of him. Because he tried to push his loved ones away from him.

This was all his fault.

The horror on his face culminated in a loud, howling cry. A cry so loud and horrible that his own consciousness started to shut down.

It was too much for him. Everything around him had turned black.

Shiki awoken, his body sweating up a storm as he breathed heavily. He saw that he was in the medical area aboard the Edens Zero.

"Shiki!"

The boy hears Happy's voice as the blue cat hugged his face.

"Thank goodness you're awake."

Shiki then sees all of his friends. Weisz Homura. Pino. Ivry. Mio. Kris. Kleene. And the rest. All by his side.

All...except for one.

Shiki wanted to apologize for everything. But, he had something else on his mind.

"Wh...where's Rebecca?" He asked. The others weren't sure how to respond to that question.

Before long, he ran across the halls of the medical bay until he finally sees...her.

She was laying on the medical bed. Several wires were connected to her body, monitoring her vitals. She looked almost...peaceful.

The beeping of the minutes let Shiki know that she was still alive.

And yet, she was clearly showing no signs of waking up.

Shiki was ready to break down into tears.

The others decided it was best to give Shiki some privacy and left him alone with the comatose Rebecca.

Shiki collapsed onto Rebecca's body and started to sob uncontrollably.

"I'm sorry, Rebecca. I'm so sorry," he cried repeatedly, the tear refusing to cease their flow.

Shiki chose to stay with Rebecca. He wants to be with her when...and if...she wake up.

And when it happens, he will do whatever it takes to make things right with her, come hell or high water.

Do you think time and space will affect if Doc join them? If that doc came to past would that ruin that time. I understand time no affect said 5 chapter. So what would affect now since have new characters robots girl.

I love this question. So just to reiterate the first part, you are asking if time and space will affect whether Wise Steiner will join Rebecca, Shiki, and Happy on their adventure.

I have discussed this with a few friends myself, but I still come to the same conclusion… my answer is no.

No, the time/space continuum will not affect whether the doctor/professor will join them. Honestly, I think he will join them, just my hunch considering Mashima’s past works and how they played out.

I think that everything will play out exactly how it is supposed to. But first, they have to fight. They will do something to convince Wise Steiner that he should join them, after all, they need a crazy old scientist doctor aboard. 

As for the second, I’m not sure whether you are asking if the past Wise Steiner going to the future would affect what happens in the past or if the future (old) Wise Steiner going to the past would affect the future. So I’ll just answer both.

Past to Future:

I’d think that Steiner going to the future would not really affect the past, considering as we saw when the [spoilers for fairy tail OVA] main characters in FT went back to when they were children, there has to be some alternate timeline because why else would Lucy’s Fairy Tail mark still be the color it is when her favorite color is blue? That’s right everyone, her favorite color is blue, not pink. Lucy had to of had an original reason, with a different timeline, because otherwise there is not a way for her to originally have the mark. If that made sense. [spoilers over]

Future to Past:

This could mess things up, especially since the doctor was already born and could become a paradox.

Edens Zero Ch1-3 Easter Eggs and References! [SPOILERS!]

Below contains potential spoilers for the manga. Click at your own risk.

1) Happy’s return: Not the same Happy we know from Fairy Tail, this version has a black tipped tail and a collar with a cubed pendant with a heart on it.

2) Shiki’s name: While not a direct reference Mashima admits he’s used the name before for the Protag of his Monster Hunter Orage manga. Shiki  (四季)  means “four seasons“ keeping in theme with his other protagonist being named after seasons.

3) Ether Gear: Ether has appeared in Mashimas previous series Fairy Tail and Rave. Fairy Tail had Ethernano which was basically the “magic particle” and “Etherious Demons”. Rave and FT both have “Etherion” a powerful magic weapon. (which I have no doubt will return again as a weapon. Maybe attached to a spaceship?)

4) EN 0%: At the end of the chapter we are shown this (I wont spoil what its referring to within the chapter) but I can't help but notice if its meant to be a reference to the manga’s name “Eden Zero” or maybe “E.N.D.” from Fairy Tail or both? Probably just the manga name or maybe its just a coincidence.

5) Planet or Star? Exxid: The race Happy is apart of comes from the planet/star (Mashima seems to not know the difference between the two) Exxid. Exxid is a reference to the winged cat-like race from Fairy Tail Exceeds.

6) Warren Rocko & Max Alors: These two Fairy Tail members can be seen in the background.

7) Elsie Crimson: Her last name Crimson is a shade of red which she shares with Erza Scarlet from Fairy Tail (who she also shares a design with). Also they both are missing an eye and are described as being armored. 

8) Team Shadow Gear: Levy, Jet and Droy from Fairy Tail can be seen in the background of the Adventurers Guild Shooting Starlight.

9) Plue: Debuting in Mashimas first ever work/one shot “Magician,” Plue is an unusual dog type creature (Magician is also the origin for many designs we know from Rave and Fairy Tail). Plue got a bigger role in Mashimas first big series Rave as bearer of the Rave Stone. Then made a cameo in Monster Soul. In Fairy Tail he was a Silver Key Celestial Spirit, "The Canis Minor". In Eden Zero he seems to again like FT have a smaller role then he did in Rave as a race of dog-like aliens called Nikola.

10) Natsu, Lucy and Fairy Tail: Shiki questions why people in the guild weren’t as friendly as he’d imagine to which Rebecca remarks “There was a manga like that before” referring to the Fairy Tail manga. As they say this you can see Natsu and Lucy walking together in the background.

11) Griffon Kato: In the panel just below the previous one you can spot Griff from Rave. He made a lot of cameos in Fairy Tail as well.
