How is it that Hiro Mashima’s female characters are well written despite being the poster children for the male gaze?

I recently found this video critique MHA's female cast: “Is My Hero Academia Sexist?”

Now Fairy Tail's babes are unapologetically bodacious and horny as hell but rarely are they ever sidelined. Even Erza when Natsu tapped in to fight Jellal was ultimately the one to end the Tower of Heaven arc with her might've-been sacrifice. The Phantom Lord arc only ends because Lucy went to have words with her father. Wendy channels the Dragon Slayers' powers into Natsu, something he couldn't do alone.

Hell, there's never just one fight for them and then it's all testoterone driving the main fights. Even Lucy's the one to save everyone when Tartaros traps everyone in the Alegria, overtaxing herself with a triple summoning along with giving the Celestial Spirit King a chance to get in on the action.

It's bizarre how so many clown on Fairy Tail for "doing Shonen wrong" yet the one thing so many other titles drop the ball on is where Fairy Tail shines through the smut. When this is where the bar is set, what excuse is there?

Ngl, seeing that Nalu (Natsu x Lucy) isn't explicitly canon after all these years, but Shiki and Rebecca are hit me right in the gut.

But, BUT!

I am very happy for Shicca. Even if I stepped away from the anime after about 2 episodes because I just wasn't that excited with it at the beginning (my attention span was awful). I always found these two to be very cute. The spoilers of them never helped either. I'll probably pick it up Eden Zero again, meaning the manga, as well as finally reading Fairy Tail properly.

But yeah, these recent spoilers stung 🥲

If the opponent manages to predict the users next teleportation and disrupts it by placing something in the way that item will remain in the users Body until removed. Other than that, the user suffers from Standard Devil Fruit Weaknesses.

(I wanted a devil fruit that's like Rebecca's Cat Leapers in Edens Zero. The Time-time fruit wouldn't work cuz it only allows the user to go forward in time, not backwards. So, i went with the blink-blink fruit)

General head canons for dating Shiki Granbell

Dating Shiki is something…..There are a lot of crazy moments for you both but know that nothing will make you two break up because he might not understand social cues he’s great at communicating with you when miscommunications happen. Any issues you have and bring up to your boyfriend he’ll sit you both down or take a walk and talk it out until you both come to a compromise. Expect him to cuddle you or want a kiss after.

Whenever you’re both in public he has no shame with PDA around you and will attempt to show off that he has an amazing significant other that he loves so much. Handholding, cheek kisses, kisses, carrying you bridal style if something happens to you, you name it and he’ll do it. Shiki is very adorable when he’s affectionate and is akin to a golden retriever which he really likes when he asks what animal that is, cooing over countless videos out them. This man can fall asleep anywhere and I mean anywhere so sometimes you’ll by sleeping in the grass, in a hallway, a street corner, a restaurant, etc. He does have a minor problem of activating his gravity ether gear during his sleep because of his dreams and there have been many times where you’ve woken up on the ceiling or wall with your boyfriend still cuddled up to you.

Protective. We all know that he’s very protective of his friends and does not waste time when they’re in danger or have gotten kidnapped/separated. However if they take you or you’re in danger he will struggle to not go out of control and destroy anything in his path. He got the perfect lover and person he adores the most who loves him just as much there is no way he’s letting that go.

This man can eat and eat and eat. If you go out then the bill will be very expensive but often you and shiki share whatever you like because he just likes all food (and on occasion feeding you with his fork). On the Eden’s Zero there will never be an issue because of the obvious amount of supplies and technology it has but it’s hard to ignore the three shining stars cooing and smiling warmly about how cute you and shiki are as a couple.

I never thought about the fact that Laguna was probably from Aoi cosmos. The water based powers should’ve been a dead giveaway, but it all makes more sense now. He’s got a personal vendetta against Nero. Would love to get some of his backstory.

Nero is a slave to those dice and they’ll be his downfall. Yea they may have worked in the past, but this is clearly different. Also being willing to sacrifice hundreds of millions or even a billion people because the dice tell you not to interfere is wild.
