I notice I have a bunch of new followers from the last month or so, so this is the perfect time to lay it out: if you’re not unconditionally supportive of queer identities including and especially trans/nonbinary identities then kindly get the hell off my blog. thanks! :)
#this means: do not mock or actively misgender trans people#this means: treat trans people with respect and address them as they wish to be addressed#yes even if they are minors. ESPECIALLY if they are minors.#this does not mean: if someone is queer they are automatically absolved of all wrongdoing#I know well that someone’s identity has no impact on how shitty they are#but dismissing the identity of shitty people sends the message to others that your support of their identity is conditional#and that’s not support that’s barely tolerance#trans women are women and even if there are some awful trans women there are many more wonderful awesome trans women out there#trans men are men and the same thing goes#NB folks are NB and the same goes for them#trans people you’re wonderful ily#trans rights babey#happy tdov#trans day of visibility#important post

I’ve never been the best with words, so I don’t really have much to say, but I just wanted to say one thing.
I’m proud of you.
I’m proud of all of you.
It doesn’t matter wherever you fall under the transgender umbrella,
however far along your transition you are (even if you can’t transition, or are still questioning things!),
however you present,
whatever pronouns you use,
or anything else you may feel invalid about.
I’m still proud of you.
The world has put you through this much, and still- you’ve resisted, and you’ve come so far, and you’ve pushed yourself out of the little box they forced you in.
And you’re still here.
Today is for you, for all the fighting you and I and the community have done to establish our place in the world.
Today is for our past triumphs, and for the many more to come.
Today is for us.
And you deserve to feel proud of yourself.
