BUT today we went to the zoo . Very awesome. We saw a lot of stuff. But we spent probably over an hour just watching the 2 brown bears. It was really cool out and cloudy most of the day so they were really active and enjoying the weather.. THEY WERE VERY CUTE AND ENTERTAINING. the more I see bears infront of me with my eyes the more I’m like wow. Um. Das me. LMAO but yea the bears were the highlight seriously. I will post my bear videos so that like 2 people will watch BAHAH. And we went to eat afterwards I had a few drinks dude anyways literally best birthday I’ve had in such a long time I never wanted it to end. Abby I hope you're ok with me popping in, I don't wanna be a pest, I just have alot to share.

I kept thinking about the Rhett x Cottagecore!Reader thoughts last night and had some more this morning on the way down to an appointment (lol).

-Yours and Rhett's shared home is literally like Beorn's home from "The Hobbit", gorgeous little cottage with all sorts of critters that love to come and hang out. The birdfeeder in spring and summer has become the local avian diner (lol).

-Which is funny because you guys have four little kitties that love to watch them in the window. Their kittens have been known to watch the birds early in the morning.

-You and Rhett helped nurse a baby crow who had fallen out of his nest. His parents had been killed by a bobcat and after you guys had him checked over at one of the local wildlife facilities, you were given the go-ahead to keep him in your animal nursery (Rhett being a movie nerd, named him "Jake" after Brooks's pet crow in The Shawshank Redemption). Jake ended up becoming one of your familiars and an excellent messenger thereafter. He even found himself a mate and had seven little babies who he would always bring for a visit.

-You guys built a gigantic pollinator garden on the sunniest side of the house. Royal and Cecelia keep a few beehives for both honeybees and bumbles who are always looking for flowers. You two have no shortage of honey either.

-You two have been known to sneak off to the North Pasture for a little bit of fun. Rhett absolutely fucked you senseless in that wildflower field one gorgeously hot summer day. However, when you went over to his parents for Sunday dinner, you heard it from both of them that not only was Rhett himself conceived in that field, but that it had been the favorite Abbott fuck spot for generations and was known as "The Fertility Field." Rhett was gagging the whole time but his parents were laughing their asses off.

-Chewbacca was one of your first rescue dogs. He was in really rough shape when he first came, but after two surgeries and plenty of food, he managed to get his strength back. He's everybody's favorite and when he howls, he literally sounds like a wookiee (lol). Pinky and Alberto were much of the same, but as yappy as the two little chihuahua dogs are, you're more than happy to have Alberto herding the chickens in at sunset. He can almost always be found near your father-in-law when he's watching a sports game or under the dinner table begging for everyone's leftovers (lol).

-When you and Rhett got married, you had been caring for twin baby chipmunks, both boys that you had named Chip and Dale. The day of your wedding, they both popped out of the breastpocket on Rhett's suit with a little sprig of forget-me-nots in their mouths.

As I say on the sts asks that I sometimes answer a day late, the S in sts stands for Sunday :)

The other day I deleted like five chapters (i had only WRITTEN one, but there were five outlined) because the arc was Too hard to write so I changed my mind. Now my outline + schedule are off so I've been adjusting that. The good news is that I don't have a chapter count of 55 anymore.

This is going to accidentally be the Here's How I Outline ask but that's okay I got a free space + I can do whatever I want

SO my step one is that i have a document for my basic outlines which include the character POV(s), chapter title, word count, and a few sentences, with a few more details. I do this part all in one go. Once I have an idea of how many chapters I'm going to have, I try and make it a number divisible by three (30 in forget me not, 21 in dahlia) (rosemary has five parts because I rolled a negative in Planning Ahead skills and had 11 characters instead of 12) so now that I have the parts divided I attach a character to it. I usually already have a flower in mind to attach to the character as well. I write my fun little flower paragraphs here :)

Step two is when I add all the chapters for part 1 (or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 etc) with the Basic Outline. This is where I make my Real Outline for each chapter. I usually do this part in one go as well, or at least until I get bored. The Real Outline includes specific details, bits of dialogue that I want to remember, and stuff like that. I like to have this at a ratio depending on the word count I already assigned the chapter. If I want the word count to be 5,000, then the Real Outline is 500 words long. I'd explain my Ratio if I was good at explaining math concepts. but I'm not.

Step three is Draft 1. I do this part as if I am making a Guy. Draft one is Skeleton. Part 1 is the aforementioned Make the Outline a Certain Length. Part 2 is when I start writing the chapter, deleting parts of the outline as I write them until I have no outline left

Step four is when I put the recently outlined chapters on my Big Timeline that has everything on it- including character birth dates, dates of chapters, things included in dated flashback scenes, etc. Basically everything that I need to keep consistent/so that I don't have to go through 50 chapters to see how long ago something was. It's very helpful I strongly recommend having a Big TImeline actually. If anyone ever asks what my writing advice is it'd be to have a Big Timeline

Step five is Draft 2!!! This is where things have a tendency to get a little bit messy for me because I'm not bound by the laws of writing chapters in order anymore and the chapters that I like will probably be finished faster. Draft 2 is what I consider the Meat of my guy that I am creating. Draft 2 part 3 is where I add to each chapter to complete the Word Goal (unless I really just do not want to, or if it's close enough/don't have anything to add) (this step is optional) and Draft 2 part 4 is when I consider the chapter mostly done. This is where I just reread it and make sure everything is in order. I tend to skip this one too because I reread chapters when I'm editing anyway

Step six is my editing step. I don't know why I keep my editing checklist on a whole different thing but I Do. I'm actually going to move it right now really quick. Editing: 1st read through: italicize/mark with "/" (i post on ao3 sometimes and it doesn't automatically italicize) 2nd read through: check for spelling errors/maybe add or delete sentences 3rd read through: look for trigger warnings and write them down somewhere 4th read through: inconsistencies (write down the things that need to be consistent) check timeline if needed (3rd and 4th usually end up getting combined) 5th read through: read again

After I've waited a week, I repeat the 2nd and 5th part of the editing, and THEN the chapter is done and I have created a Guy.

Here's how they're differentiated:

Update Post - Week 4, November 14, 2022

Whoops... forgot it was Sunday yesterday! Time is a circle.

The demo continues to be written. Right now I am about 4k in words, but the bulk of my time has gone to handling code and going over some design layouts with a close friend. I expected the prologue to be short and sweet, but I decided to be completely extra about the character customization and additional details by adding some cool effects and other tomfoolery. Oh, I want to share them for proof that I've been working hours everyday at this WIP... but I'll leave it as a surprise for now!

I'm also experimenting with a cool feature. This is very tentative, but clicking on certain links in the text (of which will be a different color than a regular link that lets you proceed) will have you "look" at an object, person or place. This will bring up additional description or information on them, and this info will be added to your codex (will be implemented in the future). Looking at certain things may influence the story, indirectly (if you forget something, you may not be able to look it up if you didn't interact with it) or directly (characters noticing you looking). I might make this optional, and I'm still wondering whether to add it, but I think it'll be cool! Please let me know your thoughts on it!

Worked more on the lore and worldbuilding. I'm very comforted by the fact that I've figured out more about my world, and I'm excited to continue exploring it today and in the future! This'll allow me to better answer lore questions and give the world a better feel. This seems pretty minor, but trust me when I say I'm super happy with it because it'll really let the setting come to life.

I'm thrilled about the progress I'm making after clawing my way out of my emergency. Now that I'm of good health and mind again, I can throw myself at writing and coding happily.

There are so many minor adjustments I'm so excited to share, but I'll keep them all a secret for now... Can't show my entire hand yet!

Closing this, a question for all of you guys: since the pantheon of gods are so extensive and you guys loved MCs' parents (the enthusiasm is insane! I've gotten so many asks about them and even more in my inbox still), how many of you guys would be interested in a weekly (or somehow regularly scheduled) spotlight of the other minor side characters? This'll cover all Twelve gods and their children briefly!

I thought of this because I want to keep you guys entertained while the demo is still in the works, and I'm delighted that people are just as invested in the side characters. I hope to introduce you guys to more of them and test the waters for their reception!
