“Just in case,” He insisted, “What if something happens and you need me? Or vice versa.” The fact that you believed that would be the only scenario he used it for seemed a bit foolish as he visited more and more.

You spot a somewhat large box, royal blue with a red ribbon on top, in Hyunjin’s hands. He smiles and pushes off the doorway. “I’m sorry to intrude like that, you weren’t answering your phone.” He says when he reaches you.

You shrug, “It’s okay. I was only sleeping.” Hyunjin nods and places the box in your hands with a sly grin, “Open,” He gestures towards the box. You move to the couch and take the lid off the box. The first thing on top is your very own Jiniret. “So you stop kidnapping my child,” Hyunjin laughs and slides onto the couch next to you. The next thing you pull out is an all black hoodie and when you turn it around you see Hyunjin’s name on the back. The small gesture shouldn’t cause butterflies to emerge in your stomach, but it does to your dismay.

You take out the rest of the stuff (a few small fake plants, Versace perfume that you scold him for buying for you, and a couple of his PCs sprinkled in between everything). You finally reach the bottom and furrow your eyebrows when you pull out a blindfold. You look at Hyunjin whose expression has morphed into something mischievous. He moves the box out of your lap and takes the blindfold out of your hands before tying it around your head, obstructing your vision.

“C’mon, stand up.” You do and Hyunjin slides his hand in yours, guiding you somewhere.

After a few moments you assume you’ve reached your bedroom, the smell of your favorite candle filling the air. The door clicks behind you and now you’re hyper aware of Hyunjin’s presence.

“Why are we in my room, Jin?” Instead of answering you, he runs his fingers delicately down your bare forearms, leaving a trail of goosebumps in his wake.

“I think we can both agree that we have more than just a normal friendship, don’t you think?” Hyunjin’s voice has noticeably dropped, causing shivers to wrack your body. Your heartbeat quickens so much that you wouldn’t be surprised if he could hear it. “I asked you a question, baby.”

Are you dreaming? You must be dreaming. There is absolutely no way you aren’t. He would never say anything like this. Right? Right. You’re pulled out of your thoughts when Hyunjin places his hands on your hips and presses you flush against his body.

Maybe you aren’t dreaming, judging by the very real, sizable erection digging into your stomach. “Hyunjin I-” You aren’t too sure what to say except to agree with him. He walks you back to the bed and gently lets you down, climbing over you soon after.

I just realised that our birthdays are exactly 1 day and 1 month apart! imagine if we were both born on the 18th 🤭 but anyway- happy birthday! I couldn’t have been happier that on this day 23 years and 9 months ago (i think that’s right 💀) the most pink and sparkly news that your mom was pregnant was delivered! and here you are now, standing average tall at 5’3, glasses, a lil socially awkward and quirky but! still a cutie patootie and smart nonetheless~

It’s so funny to think back to my first impressions of you (well, wonyoung) on that fateful day i stumbled across the wonibow blog and seeing your pinned and the amount of notes it had, my first thought was “wow this girl’s popular 🤔” which is ironic as irl wonyoung is one of the most popular idols out there- proof you were meant to roleplay as her! It’s unfortunate I can’t remember my very first words to you but whatever they were I’m glad I said them!

We did roleplay as wonjinnie in the beginning of our friendship but I think 70-80% of the time, we were unknowingly speaking as admins which I think is why we’re so close now~ I can’t pinpoint what made me adore you like how my puns did for you but, I can say confidently that you’re upbeat and bubbly nature was what made me wanna stick around, I smiled a lot each time we talk and I still do now ☺️

I can tell you now, one of the things I love and appreciate most about you is how accepting and non judgmental you are 🩷 a lot of people both online and offline think im weird (and- well, rightfully so 💀) and distance themselves from me because of how I am, or I have other friends that I can’t fully be myself around because I can tell they won’t be comfortable with it. I’ve gotten bullied and isolated for it so I really appreciate the few people in this world that can deal with my outrageous takes, freaky personality and harmless yet perverted nature (all these together sound terrible huh—) one of those people being you!

~a/n: so this short fic is a birthday gift for the wonderful courtney over at @casuallyimagining​!! make sure to give her a lot of love💜💜 as usual, @thebtswritersclub​ organised a cute birthday event for courtney, for which my prompts were: idol au, plants and disney! This is what I came up with, so I hope you enjoy this indulgently fluffy domestic fic💞

Yoongi was glowing.

It had been so long since the boys had been able to meet with ARMY, so you understood his excitement. Really, it was adorable. Last night he had been acting like a kid at Christmas, barely able to sleep thanks to the anticipation.

This morning, even in his sleepy state, he had been all smiles beneath his messy mop of hair as he rolled out of bed.

Despite it being such a long day, it was clearly rewarding. By the time the door to your apartment opened, followed by the sound of shoes dropping onto the mat, it was already dark outside and you had been back from work for some hours.

You barely had a chance to turn from the counter, where you were preparing dinner, before you were met with a pair of arms sliding around you from behind.

Laughing softly, you brought your hand up to stroke Yoongi’s hair. Meanwhile, he nuzzled his face against your neck, pressing innocent kisses there. As you leaned subtly against him, he held you tighter and hooked his chin over your shoulder to look at the meal which was nearly ready.

“Jagi, it smells amazing,” he murmured.

“You deserve it after such a packed schedule,” you smiled, “but tell me, how was it?”

Yoongi needed no more prompting to begin gushing about ARMY and all the shenanigans that had happened that day. As you finished plating up, you laughed along to his descriptions of the embarrassing jokes Jungkook had cracked about his hyungs, and the funny hat Jin made him wear for the rest of the event as punishment.

Once the food was done, you spotted a couple of bags by the table, various items spilling out.

“Presents from ARMY?” you nodded at them as you settled down to eat.

Humming around a mouthful of food, Yoongi leaned across to pluck something out.

“Yeah, I’ll sort through them tomorrow. I think it’s mainly letters and stuff-”

But he was holding a rose out to you across the table.

“This is the perfect present for you, though.”

His wide-eyed smile made you blush a little, but you reached for it hesitantly.

“I’m sure ARMY wouldn’t be too happy to know you already have a significant other, least of all that you’re giving their presents to me!”

Brazen as always, Yoongi just shrugged, going back to his meal with a knowing smirk.

Chuckling fondly, you let your eyes linger on it a little longer before you went back to your food. You couldn’t quite tell if it was a real rose or not – either way, someone had coated the upper side of the red petals in matching glitter. It really was very pretty.

“Makes me think of Beauty and the Beast,” you confessed as you set it down, “I haven’t watched that in ages. Movie night?”

Yoongi eyed you over his spoonful of food, raising an eyebrow.

“Which of us is the beauty?”

“That wasn’t what I meant!” you quickly backtracked, though it startled a loud laugh from you.

“Suuure,” he drawled with a playful quirk of his lips.

“Well, if I had to pick,” you hummed, “I’d say it’s obvious, wouldn’t you?”

“I’m the beauty-”

Startled, you both met eyes again. You had both spoken at the same time.

“You?!” you giggled, “I don’t think you’re about to thaw anyone’s heart!”

“Tell that to ARMY,” he countered, making you huff.

“Just wait until I have a giant fan base-“

Yoongi had to put his food down from laughing so hard. Your playful sulky manner didn’t hold up long either, soon dissolving into breathless giggles yourself.

Once you calmed down enough to attempt eating again, you finished your meals in relative peace. It was only as you pushed your empty plate away and examined the gift again that you decided to acquiesce.

“So you got me this rose to curse me? When are my friends going to turn into furniture?”

Chuckling as he collected the dirty dishes, Yoongi reached his free hand to you and pulled you up. To your surprise, he tugged you closer until you were pressed together, his hand flat on your back

“I was joking, you know. If one of us is the beauty, it’s obviously you.”

Not ready for the sudden, and blatant, flirting, you gaped like a fish for a moment. Prime opportunity for Yoongi to steadily close the gap between you, placing a lingering kiss against your lips.

“You absolute tease, Min Yoongi,” you pulled away laughing, swatting at his chest.

Grin spilling again into laughter, he stepped back too. As he left to clean the dishes in the kitchen, he called back over his shoulder.

“You love it really!”

Smiling to yourself, you stood for a few moments longer before pulling yourself together and heading to the living room. Your meal that night had been relatively simple, so Yoongi was soon done with the washing, by which time you had swamped the sofa in blankets and cushions, Beauty and the Beast ready to go on the tv.

Though he was tired after such a long, but rewarding, day, Yoongi could never turn away from a scene like that. And a cosy night in with you never felt like a strain; it was the most natural thing to him. Spending time with you always helped him recharge. It was something he was eternally grateful for, being able to have you by his side.

The film rolled on, the two of you paying varying amounts of attention as you were sometimes swept away by conversation. Or kisses. Or both.

By the end of the film, you had slid down the couch, leaving you lying against your boyfriend’s chest as your eyelids drooped.

Still, in your sleepy state, you turned your face upwards and mustered a vague smile that absolutely melted his heart.

“When the last petal falls off that rose, will you finally turn into a charming and gracious prince?” you smirked.

With a scoff, Yoongi tousled your hair.

“You wish,” he retorted, “you’re stuck with me, I’m afraid.”

“No fair,” you muttered.

As you did so, you turned over to snuggle into his sweater. He could tell you were on the verge of sleep, and it took everything in him to shake you out of it. Once you had made it to the comfort of your bed, then he could admire your sleepy self. But for now, he had to be a good boyfriend and get you there.

In the blissful daze of the journey to bed, between one-armed cuddles while you brushed your teeth, unearthing your pyjamas and pulling the covers up at last with Yoongi pressing a kiss on your nose, the rose was all but forgotten until the next morning.

While you didn’t remember each detail from your steady descent to sleep the previous evening, it seemed Yoongi had recalled your quip about the rose.

It was morning, light streaming into the room, when you noticed the new addition to your windowsill.

Yoongi had pulled a small vase and a glass plate topper from somewhere, using them to display the rose in an imitation of the one from Beauty and the Beast. Light shone through the dome, the glitter from the petals reflecting sparks onto your morning bowl of cereal.

“What’s this?” you asked when your boyfriend emerged from the shower, head tilted to one side as he rubbed rather aggressively at his hair with a towel.

“Ah,” he smiled, “thought we could wait for the petals to fall. Maybe you’ll get your prince in the end.”

A light frown creased your brow.

“I already have one!”

“How sweet,” he chuckled, “and who might that be?”

You decided to play along, albeit with a roll of your eyes.

“It’s you, you idiot. I don’t need anything more.”

“Better hope that plant’s fake then, I guess.”

“You’re really rolling with this, aren’t you? It does look nice, in fairness. But I don’t want you to change.”

“You sure you don’t want a boyfriend that’s a little more civilised?” he teased. To prove his point, he strode to you, attempting to smother you with a hug, his hair dripping onto your face all the while.

“Argh! Yoongi! Fine, get me a prince!” you shrieked, to which he pulled back with a satisfied grin.

As it happened, the rose was real. It had been a few days without much event: the odd conversation about whether Tae or Hoseok would better suit being a hand whisk when they inevitably turned into household objects was the only real mention of your little rose joke.

But then you came into the kitchen to find a beglittered petal lying against the pale tiles. It did look quite cinematic, freezing you in place for a moment.

Sending a quick photo of it to Yoongi, you told him he better start looking for that prince.

Over the course of the month, the poor flower grew more and more wilted, many petals joining the red pile scattered around the vase’s base.

However, it was largely forgotten, becoming part of the scenery as yours and Yoongi’s hectic life continued.

You were well used to his schedule piling up, and now was one of those times. It didn’t make it much easier when you got home to an empty place after an evening of overtime, only to cook and eat by yourself, your boyfriend slipping into bed only after you had fallen asleep. The few times you were both at home – and awake – at the same time, were often during the mad dash to get out of the door in the morning, with only time to sneak a few cuddles here and there.

You supposed it was part and parcel of being in the world’s biggest boy group. Every magazine wanted to get hold of them for shoots and interviews, every brand wanting to sponsor content, and of course, there was the small matter of their musical career on top of all that.

No one could deny they all worked long and hard for what they got.

But little things would tide you over, until things calmed down, as they always did eventually. The fresh coffee sachet left in the machine for you; the packets of those biscuits you liked but could only get at the place outside Yoongi’s work, suddenly filling the cupboard; the bin filled with makeup wipes, carefully applied the night before when you had fallen asleep before removing it.

And for all Yoongi’s gestures, you did the same, making time to prepare him lunch for the next day whenever you could, or leaving some homemade food in the microwave so he wouldn’t be stuck with instant ramen when he got home.

Still, you missed him.

In the blur, you didn’t even notice when the final petal left the rose’s stem. It was merely another day of heading to work before the sun had even appeared, too swamped by the drizzle that had invaded the sky recently. Then work, then heading home, with a few texts to Yoongi the most you could expect to hear from him until the weekend.

So as you slung off your bag in the doorway, the last thing you expected was to hear the voice of your boyfriend. Singing, no less.

He may not be in BTS’ vocal line, but you always thought his tone had a very comforting lilt to it. As you edged closer to its source in the kitchen, you only confirmed this belief. A sweet, off-key rendition of Tale as old as time reached your ears from the opposite side of the door, Yoongi singing casually to himself.

Though you had no idea why he was back already, you weren’t complaining. You thought it better to make your presence known and enjoy as much time together as you could.

But any and all words died on your lips as you nudged the door open.

The movement caught Yoongi’s eye and he looked up, greeting you with a heart-warming gummy smile. When you didn’t move, he chuckled and came to you instead, steering you over to the table where he swept out a chair for you.

You managed to at least shut your gaping mouth as you complied, sitting down. He even tucked you into the table.

The table, which was scattered with flower petals. Scattered with flower petals and adorned with your nicer set of plates – and the nice wine glasses. And a candle.

Having cast your eyes over everything on the tabletop, you finally noticed a bouquet of flowers sitting on the counter, as well as an array of steaming pans and a very fancy looking bottle of champagne, which Yoongi was currently carrying towards you.

You finally managed to get your brain and mouth working together again.

“What’s all this?” you sputtered.

“The last petal fell off the rose,” he shrugged, uncorking the champagne with a deft pop.

It took you a moment to catch on, frowning while he poured you a glass.

“The-the rose?”

A glance over at the window showed you that yes, the stem was totally bare now in its glass case. All the petals were curled up and carpeting the bottom of the dome.

“You asked for charming and gracious, so I delivered!”

Finally, you burst out laughing. Yoongi looked a bit affronted as he set two plates on the table, but his eyes glittered with joy.

“Yoongi, it’s great,” you smiled as your laughter finally tailed away, “you didn’t have to.”

“No, but I wanted to,” he replied easily, “I’ve missed you. I know it’s not easy for either of us when things are this mad. Once I finish off a few songs I’m working on and this promotional season is over, it will go back to normal again. But it’ll still be a couple of weeks, so we might as well have one night together before that.”

You couldn’t agree more. And while you were more than content with your usual choice of date (read: lying on the couch with a film and a mountain of junk food), it felt wonderful to do something fancier.

It was easy to forget other stresses when you had your source of comfort there with you again, delicious food filling you as you talked, joking around and catching up on all the small things you had missed.

And, of course, you got to order Yoongi around a little. He had volunteered to be the perfect gentleman for the night, after all. Was it not his duty to get you a second helping of desert?

The champagne had been nice, but both of you still had early starts the next day, so before long you were cradling wine glasses of juice instead. It was inevitable really, that the night would slowly deteriorate in fanciness, given how low-maintenance both of you were. In the end, you did find yourselves curled on the sofa, feeling very full and rested as you almost totally ignored the film in favour of making up for all the skinship and kisses you had missed out on lately.

The next weeks seemed a little less torturously long after that. And though you swept away the remnants of the glittery rose, you were eternally grateful to the fan who had inadvertently gifted you and Yoongi a night to indulge in each other: an evening of peace in the wild life of dating an idol.
