4. " Out Of The Woods" is my favorite song, which Jack co-wrote with Taylor Swift on the first album they worked on together in 1989.

5. Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions is my favorite documentary in which Jack Antonoff is featured.

Gracie Abrams x Female Reader Summary : you and Gracie go to Taylors party only for one of Kelce's friend to flirt with you. Let's just say Gracie isn't too happy about it.

Taylor Swift's birthday party was the party of the year, before it even started officially.

Gracie and I stopped in front of my mirror, fussing with our clothes for what felt like the hundredth time. Taylor had sent out invitations with a silent expectation that everyone would be looking their best. I'd wasted twenty minutes debating with myself about whether or not my dress was too much or too little before Gracie cut me down with a blunt, "You look hot. Let's go."

The bows, however, had been her idea.

"Come on, please," she had begged, smiling as she held out the soft silk ribbons she had picked. One in pale blush pink, the other in classic black. "Matching bows, Y/N. It's so us."

I had rolled my eyes, half-exasperated, half-laughing. "Gracie."

She pouted. "Don't be boring. Think about the look."

"You just want an excuse to tie something in my hair."

Her eyes sparkled meanly. "I love to tie things in your hair."

And, since I was a pushover for her (and since she was already leaning in towards my hair), I let her.

We were standing outside now, with our backs to the building, which twinkled with fairy lights and music already pulsating through the walls. A security guard checked our names against the guest list, and then—magically—we were let in.

The party was exactly what I had envisioned: polished but electric, a pack of celebrities mingling, flutes of champagne served by waiters in starched white jackets.

Gracie tugged my hand as we stepped inside. "Let's find Taylor before she gets swept up in the Blake-Selena-Sophie crowd."

"I believe she lives with them now."

We barely had time to take it all in before we heard—

"There you are!"

Taylor suddenly appeared out of thin air, as otherworldly as ever, in some kind of retro-themed, glittery dress. She was cradling a single drink and had an all-out joy look in her eyes as she hugged us both.

"You both look so amazing," she said, stepping back to look at us. And then she caught sight of the bows. She smirked flirtatiously. "Oh my God, matching bows?"

Gracie grinned, pushing hers up like a crown. "So us, then?"

I rolled my eyes. "She forced me."

Taylor tilted her head. "You're playing like she had to fight you. We all know you'd do anything she asks."

I pretended to be shocked. "You betrayed me so fast."

Gracie simply grinned smugly, slipping an arm around my waist. "She knows what's up."

Taylor laughed, shaking her head. "God, you two are disgusting."

A waiter passed by, and Taylor grabbed two champagne glasses from him, handing one to each of us and then lifting hers. "To my birthday," she said, "and to my two favorite lovers in denial."

Gracie gagged on her drink. I nearly spilled mine.

"Taylor!" I hissed, blushing.

She just laughed and walked away, leaving us standing there, shocked.

Gracie was the first to come out of it, elbowing me. "Denial, huh?"

I shook my head. "I hate her."

"You love her."

I sighed, sipping champagne. "Shut up."

The night had gone so smoothly—dancing, laughing, striking a ridiculous number of poses with Taylor, and sitting through Jack Antonoff grumbling about how much he hated getting dressed up.

And then.

He appeared.

Travis Kelce's friend.

Tall. Dumbly arrogant. That kind of charming in an unsubtle fashion that only men who never had to work too hard tend to have.

It started as normal. He came over to greet me, which was okay. But then—he started looking at me like I was the center of attention. Like he cared. (Disgusting)

And that's when Gracie's hold on me subtly clamped down.

He leaned forward, smiling. "So, how do you know Taylor?"

I shifted, aware of Gracie standing by my side. "We met in music. We've known each other for a while."

He nodded, looking impressed. "That's cool. You look cool." His eyes flicked down to my dress. "You look great tonight too."

Gracie's arm around my waist suddenly wasn't resting—it was holding on.

The guy was oblivious. He just grinned at me, all confident. "You know, I was going out, but when I saw you, I'm glad I didn't."

Before I could even think about how to answer, Gracie interrupted.

"She's with me," she said, her voice smooth but unyielding.

The guy blinked, eyes darting back and forth between us. "Oh."

Gracie smiled—sweet, but menacing. "Yeah." She wrapped her hand around my waist, holding tight. "So you can go ahead and try to flirt with someone else."

For an instant, it looked like he was going to slug it out. But then he caught a glimpse in her eyes that led him to do otherwise.

"Uh… yeah, cool. No problem." He grudged an unnatural laugh, nodded, and retreated.

The instant he'd vanished, I looked at Gracie with my brows raised. "That was.. a lot."

She still hadn't let me go. "He was annoying."

I bit my lip, trying not to smile. "You're jealous."

She rolled her eyes. "Wow. Okay. First of all, I am not jealous—"

"You so are."

"I just didn't like the way he was eyeing you up and down. And calling you the prettiest girl here like it was news? Please."

I smiled, a warmth spreading through my chest. "Boyfriend Gracie is kinda hot."

That fazed her. A silence latched onto me before she expelled a dramatic sigh. "Now you're simply attempting to distract me."

I tilted my head, regarding her. "Working?"

She expelled a breath, arms still encircling me. "Maybe."

I moved in, lightly kissing the corner of her jaw, because I could. Because I wanted to, "im yours, baby."

Gracie melted. Fully.

And that's when I realized—

Jealousy did her really, really well.

The atmosphere inside the Crypto.com Arena buzzed with anticipation, the energy was evident as the crowd were all ecstatic and swaying to the beat of Sabrina Carpenter’s concert. You stood beside Evan, with his arms wrapped loosely around your waist. Both of you were still reeling from the post-vacation glow from your birthday trip to Japan. The last traces of jet lag had faded, and been replaced by the excitement of attending the Short n’ Sweet concert.

Evan had surprised you with these tickets the moment you landed back in Los Angeles, an extra added birthday gift for you, aside from going on a trip to Japan, and knowing how much you adored Sabrina. It was also one of the many things that made your relationship with him so special—his ability to remember every little thing that makes you happy.

The moment the camera panned to Evan, the entire arena erupted in cheers. It wasn't really surprising, after all, Evan was everyone’s boyfriend. All of his fans adored him, and it was clear that the crowd was delighted, some were shouting happily, to see him in attendance.

Evan was momentarily startled before offering a shy smile. He ducked his head slightly, his free hand coming up to rub the back of his neck—a signature move that had long since become second nature to him when he was flustered. His lips also twitched into a boyish grin as the cheers grew louder and louder, and you couldn't help but laugh softly at his reaction.

You decided to hang around off to the side, avoiding being included in the LED screen with Evan, and just watching him with amusement, smiling bright as you soaked in the moment. Every now and then, you let out a small laugh, shaking your head at how easily he still got shy despite being an A-list celebrity.

Sabrina, standing in the middle of the stage, tilted her head playfully as she looked at Evan’s reaction. Then, with a teasing glint in her eye, she spoke right into the mic.

“Oh, oh, we know this man!” she said, voice playfully as the crowd screamed even louder. “Evan Peters, everybody. Everyone’s boyfriend.”

Then, Sabrina continued, smirking, tilting her head in that mischievous way of hers. “Now Evan, I know you’re hot and all, but is it possible that you could bring out someone that’s more hotter than you?”

The fans screamed in anticipation, and without hesitation, Evan smiled and nodded, putting out a thumbs up. He then turned to you, his touch gentle as he pulled you closer beside him. You barely had time to register what was happening before you felt all eyes on you, the camera now fully capturing your face on the LED screen. The reaction of all the fans was immediate, cheers turned deafening. Now it was your turn to be shy.

Your breath caught slightly as you blinked at the sheer volume of the response. You were not unfamiliar with attention, being Evan’s girlfriend meant that your face was often recognized in public, and your own career in the legal profession had earned you plenty of respect—but this was different. It was overwhelming, but in the best way possible.

With a small, bashful smile, you raised a hand to wave at the camera, your fingers curling in a shy little motion. You could feel the warmth creeping up your neck, your ethereal features bathed in the glow of the concert lights and screen, with Evan’s arm finding your waist, unconsciously drawing small circles on your sides.

Sabrina, watching the entire exchange, grinned like she had just won the lottery. “Oh. Oh wow, this is so crazy,” she said, fanning herself dramatically. “I mean, wow. Whoever made you, god bless their genetics.”

The whole crowd screamed in agreement with Sabrina. Evan, still standing beside you chuckled under his breath, his arms still resting comfortably around your waist. His grip on you was now firm yet affectionate, nodding and agreeing with the crowd, as if to silently say, ‘Yeah, I know. She’s perfect, isn't she?’

“Alright, my gorgeous angel, I need your name before we do this.” Sabrina asked through the mic.

You told her, and she grinned. “Damn, that’s a sexy name. I believe that your name and mine, they’d sound real good together in a relationship.” she winked at you, then fanned herself again exaggeratedly. “My clothes just fell off thinking about it.”

Right on cue, her dress went off, revealing a new dress that is much shorter. The crowd roared, and Evan threw his head back, laughing. You could feel your face burning, the attention both flattering and overwhelming. Sabrina turned, and one of the backup dancers handed her a pair of fluffy pink heart-shaped handcuffs, and raised it.

“Listen you guys, I was originally gonna arrest Evan, but baby, I think I just found someone way hotter.” Sabrina winked at you.

You covered your face with both hands, laughing and leaned shyly towards Evan. He bursted out laughing at your reaction, and stepping gently aside, with his arm still around your waist, playfully telling Sabrina to take you and not him.

“Alright, I need you to take this handcuff, my love. Come on, don’t be shy,” Sabrina teased. “Take ‘em. You’re under arrest for being too hot, you have the right to remain sexy.”

You finally gave in, taking the handcuffs with a laugh, lifting them up for the camera to see. The crowd went wild, and Evan, still chuckling, had now wrapped an arm around your shoulders, pulling you close to press a kiss to your temple.

“She’s all yours, Sabrina.” he said to Sabrina jokingly, voice warm with affection.

Sabrina let out a playful sigh. “Evan, I hate to break it to you, but you just lost your girl to me.”

You covered your face again with one hand, shaking your head as the crowd cheered in approval.

Evan, laughing beside you, kissed the side of your head again and whispered, “she can have her moment, but you’re still coming home with me.”

You burst out laughing, and Evan shook his head, laughing with you.

Prologue

To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs. To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in and my collaborators and I are proud to announce that my 9th studio album and folklore’s sister record is here. It’s called evermore.

I’ve never done this before. In the past I’ve always treated albums as onе-off eras and moved onto planning the nеxt one as soon as an album was released. There was something different with folklore. In making it, I felt less like I was departing and more like I was returning. I loved the escapism I found in these imaginary/not imaginary tales. I loved the ways you welcomed the dreamscapes and tragedies and epic tales of love lost and found. So I just kept writing them. And I loved creating these songs with Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff, WB, and Justin Vernon. We’ve also welcomed some new (and longtime) friends to our musical kitchen table this time around…

Before I knew it there were 17 tales, some of which are mirrored or intersecting with one another. The one about two young con artists who fall in love while hanging out at fancy resorts trying to score rich romantic beneficiaries. The one where longtime college sweethearts had very different plans for the same night, one to end it and one who brought a ring. Dorothea, the girl who left her small town to chase down Hollywood dreams – and what happens when she comes back for the holidays and rediscovers an old flame. The ‘unhappily ever after’ anthology of marriages gone bad that includes infidelity, ambivalent toleration, and even murder. The most righteous motive, to avenge the fallen. The realization that maybe the only path to healing is to wish happiness on the one who took it away from you. One starring my grandmother, Marjorie, who still visits me sometimes…if only in my dreams.

I wanted to surprise you with this the week of my 31st birthday. You’ve all been so caring, supportive and thoughtful on my birthdays and so this time I wanted to give you something! I also know this holiday season will be a lonely one for most of us and if there are any of you out there who turn to music to cope with missing loved ones the way I do, this is for you.

I have no idea what will come next. I have no idea about a lot of things these days and so I’ve clung to the one thing that keeps me connected to you all. That thing always has and always will be music.

And may it continue, evermore.

Happy solar return to Taylor’s late night pop masterpiece, Midnights!

This record has only been more solidified as a Pop Bible after listening to it for a full year. 365 days of meeting Taylor at midnight and I don’t think the end is in sight.

Taylor worked with producer and trusted friend Jack Antonoff again on this record, and together they came up with some of the most brilliant pop tracks in recent years.

“Lavender Haze” is a staple of the Midnights era; the warble of the beat makes it feel extra psychedelic, like you’re about to discover the secrets of the universe.

Some tracks off the record that especially keep me up at night are “Maroon”, “Snow On The Beach”, “You’re On Your Own Kid”, “Midnight Rain”, “Labyrinth”, “Sweet Nothing” and “Mastermind”.

The 3am Edition of the album contains some of Taylor’s best - “The Great War”, “Paris”, “High Infidelity”, “Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve” and “Dear Reader”.

Taylor’s lyricism in her 30s is making my heart feel like it’s being ripped out of my chest. I just can’t wait to see what she has in store for us with her next record because Midnights CLEARED!

Happy 11th birthday, Forever Winter!

Forever Winter is one of her best vault tracks so far and convincingly debunks the narrative that Taylor only writes about her exes. It puts on display probably one of the most profound topics she's written about this side of this is me trying.

The demo has also further convinced me that Jack Antonoff has to go to prison for his various crimes.
