As the night had come to veil over the city of Kōfu, the self-proclaimed “Beast Tamer” dancer had finally returned to the glorious manor of his newly adoptive family after his usual ‘nightly’ activities, suddenly he got informed by the servant that they had brought in the package sent to the mansion with his name addressed as its receiver.

Taken by surprise, Ayame rushed back to his room and found a small box wrapped by a beautiful piece of cloth peacefully laying on his desk with a note submitted along.

“Happy Birthday! —From Nara Division

P.S. We personally had no idea about the beauty cosmetics of sorts but somehow the ‘friend’ of Chishio-San recommended this to us”

And by peeling off the wrapping cloth and removing the box’s lid, the young man was greeted by the sight of a set of multicolor lip sticks with its cute design of some residents in the famous ‘Alice in Wonderland’ placed inside, but that wasn’t all he found there.

There was one other thing that he couldn’t take his eyes off —It’s a Joker card which somehow reminds him of a certain someone that he never forgot from his mind…

Picking it up with the wild beats in his own chest, though he felt a bit of disappointment when he found out that this mysterious card wasn’t sent by a certain someone he desired to be, what had been written there still caught his attention nonetheless.

"uh..cute"-said Ayame to himself looking at the lipsticks,he taked one at stood infront the dressing table, the dancer apply it on his lips and smiled at his reflect with red lips,them he decided left the gift on his dressing table with the rest of his makeup

Smiling yet, Ayame sit in his bed with the joker card beetwen his fingers looking at it

Although he was a bit dissapointed because that card not was from the person he desire Ayame stared at it looking at the image of the Joker...when he remember

The sound of music as the purple haired stop his seductive dance,the people who look at him fascinated and entraced starting to applaud, that he accepts with a shy blush and a smile when notices someone approaching to him

The dancer blinked looking that strange person dressed up as a clown or magician,the magician not say nothing but he give someone to the dancer

-"a flower could looked beautiful on you"-they magician said in a joking tone as the dancer, although a bit confused accepts the flower looking at it,when he raise the look the magician had walked away

Ayame looked at the flower again this time feeling his hear beating

Ayame out from his memories and to the sight of the card-"a joker uh?,that actually fits"-he giggled without realize how his smile was most happy and glowing

"Mireya san!"-hearing her name Mireya turns to see certain belly dancer from kofu city

Ayame was shy as always and looking by his clothes he were going to perform in some place

"happy birthday...I..I just want to give you some gifts"-the belly dancer/jewel designer said shily

Ayame's gift was a beautiful set of gold belly dance jewels

Then Ayame gives Mireya a little box

"uhm, a toyshop's owner in aomori asked me to give you this from his part"

The gift from the war criminal man know as the "aomori's werewolf" is a porcelain figure of a belly dancer

"Thank you, Ayame." Mireya said, smiling as she took both gifts from the young man. She was glad to see Ayame was doing well, despite his shy, skittish nature. Still the nightclub owner didn't hold that against him. Not everyone was the same, after all. Besides, Mireya valued people for their skill and ethics, not their personality.

"You'll have to find time to come back to come back here to Gypsy's Palace. We miss having you." she said, giving the man a handshake and a wave as he departed. Looking at the dress, she knew sales would increase when she put this on. And as for the doll, there was a place in her dance studio that she could put this lovely figurine.

you're so right on kabuki's part! the meal he ends up making for you is not his only birthday present. kabukimono is an incredibly soft guy and he celebrates your birthday in a similar manner to how you celebrated his; doing the things you two adore doing together. 'suragi is the "wingman" in a lot of what ends up happening in the kitchen and yes, kabukimono does receive a little lecture on kitchen safety ;; but!! katsuragi finds it endearing that kabu is willing to listen because while kabuki did feel bad, the expression that dawned on the puppet's face was nothing short of endearing; in spite of feeling disheartened his expression still held an immense amount of determination. especially so when he ( kabukimono i mean ) would nod subtly to the advice katsuragi would give. that expression of kabu's would brighten once katsuragi suggests helping him around the kitchen.

“how did you even—?” said katsuragi, rather exasperatedly. his eyes darting to the mess that can be spotted pretty much anywhere he set his eyes on in the kitchen of your and the kabukimono's shared home. utensils used covered in lavender melon juice along with the eccentric's fine attire, not to mention the little stains of said juice on his face.

what katsuragi failed to witness however was how absolutely disheartened the youth appeared, did he do something wrong? is your special day going to be ruined because of him? what should he do? — kabukimono's mind spiraled and he immediately bowed his head down. feeling embarrassed and, well, afraid.

and so, to save his skin, kabukimono held his hands together, fiddling with his thumbs as he mumbled; “i'm sorry...” the puppet's voice was but a soft murmur as he spoke, head hung low apologetically. “i just... i heard it was (name)'s birthday, so i tried to make something for them.”

katsuragi's eyes lit up at his reasoning. so that's why the kitchen is in such a state. katsuragi only sighed deeply afterwards as he spotted the flour on the ground, the overcooked rice in a bowl and... what even is that? dango? whatever it may have been — it's clear that kabukimono is trying. but he's putting himself and the kitchen at risk.

but nevertheless, the young swordmaster couldn't help but chuckle in delight and ruffle the youth's hair playfully ( or rather reassuringly ). kabukimono's head perked up and for a moment, that once apologetic expression faded into one of confusion. katsuragi sounded more happy, why's that?

as katsuragi hung his head low to look at the puppet, still very much a mess of his own doing, he beamed. “i am sure that (name) will be very happy to know you're making something for their birthday,” said katsuragi, ruffling kabukimono's hair a little again to soothe him further. “but they wouldn't be very happy to know that you're putting yourself and the kitchen at risk. so, how about we make something for them together?”

that confusion present in kabukimono's expression dissipated entirely, he beamed at the idea — eyes lighting up in unbridled joy and determination. “i will do my best!”

OH I AM SO DOING THAT TO YOU >:) listen, i project a few personal things of my recent years onto wanderer kuni because... it just makes SO much sense in my eyes. while he may have obtained peace, he was never truly happy since obtaining it. and i feel like the best way he compensates for it is by relishing in the small joys of his now mundane life. but since you came into his life; he finds that once small joy he gets from doing what he wants become of incredible importance to him. kuni is a very simple guy in his present life as the dendro archon's lancer and as the wanderer, and such simple things like being around his aunt and you, his dearest beloved, to be more than enough to make that joy prolong and persevere. and absolutely he deadass REFUSES to have the tea either you, nahida or the aranara make because shit he's willing to indulge you on your special day but not stoop THAT low, no thanks, he'd rather be caught slacking than have a tea so filled with sugar that it makes that faint crack on his face show up again. ( exaggeration at its finest, my specialty )

now to get the quick ones out of the way — i was DYING for someone to notice the contact name in "heart rhythm" and listen i was laughing my ass off the moment i decided on the name because on the other hand i had a cute theme in mind but i was like nah, let my crackheadedness show <3 and yes! i am a violinist :)

glad i could awaken the musical bone in you hehe. i actually posted a random post about a very specific idea i had featuring violinist reader and pianist kuni but that's a whole can of worms that i'd rather save for another time because .. well, my kabuki series lmao

now for the collection of birthday hcs i posted........ oh boy, let's go:

. kabukimono is actually so fucking proud of himself. especially so since i was running along with the imagery that is him being a mess in the kitchen, not only that; but you always occupy yourself with making him what he likes, why not reciprocate the gesture? he found out it was your birthday through niwa who urged you to come over for tea and have a chat. katsuragi spent just about the whole day to early afternoon looking for kabu only to see bro cooking up in your shared home, and katsu ended up tagging along! i like to imagine that kabu finds solace or some form of acceptance when he's around humans like you for instance; a human who sees him as one of their own. kabuki felt something akin to relief wash over him as katsuragi stuck around and helped him by providing tips on making your favorites for your birthday. he felt alive, human. and that smile of sheer delight on his face was not only because he saw your smile at his simple method to celebrate, but also because he felt accomplished. he repaid you for a simple gesture you never hesitated to do for him.

. kuronushi is a man of both words and actions. when it came to how he should make you happy, he surprisingly found a little bit of difficulty in figuring it out because and i quote, “knowing you're here is enough to make me smile, 'nushi.” so what? is he supposed to simply stay by your side for the remainder of the day? that simply won't do and isn't enough of a gift for you; an individual who practically made his existence more meaningful to him. such a simple gesture like staying by your side, while something he does more often than not, simply isn't enough as stated. and so, just exactly a day before your birthday, he excused himself by leaving a note that said he's out on an inspiration walk. by the time he arrived to kannazuka island, the atmosphere was exactly what he desired; partially cloudy with an auspicious breeze and most importantly, the stage was all his as his brush began to make short work of the once empty scrolls, and as cheesy as it sounds the dim and gentle lighting of the sun emitting from the clouds above reminded him of you. which helped immensely with his inspiration. honestly, a simple portrait isn't enough to capture your radiance, but if he had to give a gift he'd make with what he has, it'll be this for now.

. kunikuzushi is an interesting case. once unnecessary now an absolute fucking must as he simply looks at you while you sleep at an ungodly time of 2 a.m. a frustrated frown slowly but surely painting his face as he juices his non-existent brain out on how exactly he should make you smile on your supposed special day. the things he does for you, all due to those mind boggling emotions you allowed his mechanical heart to influence. the first time he took you to said café; people were staring. eyes not only on him but you, how come his benevolence be with an ordinary individual? on a simple get-together no less... he finds offense in the stares that were mainly on him, why? is it so strange for him to be sighted like this? foolish mortals won't begin to understand how he chooses to spend a day he deems dear to him. now breaking from writer ayame for a bit YOU'RE SO REAL ABOUT HIM JUST SNAPPING AT PEOPLE WHO WERE STARING ;; the next time he took you to that café at the same day, you were taken aback by seeing no one other than the workers in sight.

. somehow in someway, wanderer has found himself in the company of buer, the aranara and you — while nahida is partially correct about this being his idea; he meant only you along with him and the little sprout. not with the company of talking cabbages! but alas, here he was at the small table sitting by your side as his aranara lookalike is chatting the tea party away with along with nahida who's elated to finally know more of you. he couldn't bring himself to ( or rather was unable to ) convince nahida otherwise about her idea, not when you looked both interested and excited, more than willing to go. he was quiet for the most part, only deciding to chat if he was brought into the conversation which contradicting what i said earlier, he ended up using his voice quiet a lot; from indulging you in your lighthearted remarks to indulging nahida's playful inquiries and teasing. it felt a lot more like a family gathering than a birthday celebration, but if he to admit to himself at most, he enjoyed it while it lasted.

AHHH AYAME THESE KILLED ME... AHHH Kabukimono always making a mess of the kitchen but it gets ten times worse on your birthday because he's trying so hard 🥺 i imagine it's because not only is he cooking your favorite meal, but he's also cooking and preparing stuff to cook even more stuff for you later in the day. Look he is the kind of person to pull out all the stops for his darling. Kabuki is the kind of guy who probably slipped a few times in the kitchen because of how he's running all over the place but has gotten right back up like it's nothing. 😭 Once Katsuragi has seen the kind of madness he pulls he really doesn't know what to do other than sit the puppet down and lecture him on general safety and kitchen precautions. Kabuki feels a bit bad after that for making his friend worry. 😭 (And yes definitely. 🥺 Kabukimono definitely feels really accepted and at peace in the company of other kind humans. It's little things like this that make him feel like he truly belongs.)

UGH IM NGL YOU'RE THE ONE WHO MADE ME LOVE-LOVE KURONUSHI. Like, i've always loved him because he's our beloved Kuni right? But i wasn't as attached to him since there's like, no lore or content for him, but YOU. you're making me love him. THE PAINTING? THE BRUSH AND SCROLLS? THE SCENERY? i love to think about laying on his lap or something while he draws or writes :(

Ayame blinked looking at the card before look at the cake,it looked so tasty and the dancer not deny he wanted eat it

But before he call his brothers with a happy voice-"Reiji,Kei! come here,i received something that i want to share!"-the dancer giggled with a blush of joy

And when Reiji and get approaches Ayame and looked at the cake the eyes of both of them glowed

That bring us to the current situation of the three children of Enjouji family in the manor's kitchen-dining room sitting on the table with pieces of cake infront of them (but of course they left two pieces for their parents)

Ayame take a bit of his pieces and smiled-"Sachishi-san it's very good-he said,a almost childish glow on his eyes Ayame not remember if when he was a child eat something like this

Kei not said nothing,he was calming and almost sleepy as always but his little smile delated he like it,noticing his siblings looking at him the novelist nodded agreed with his younger brother

Reiji nodded too with his "angelic" and kind smile taking a sip of his tea-"Aya chan,you go a lot to Sachishi's bakery?"-the idol singer asked curious about Ayame

The purple haired nodded eating again-"yeah,normally when i'm dancing or drawing in some places of kitakyushu i go to that bakery and buy some desserts"-he said lowing his looks remember the flavor of that sweets pastries

Ayame love sweets, because in part he not eated much times when he was a kid...he remember stale bread and cheap food

So he always take advantage any moment to get some sweets

Reiji sighed noticing how Ayame was lost in his worst memories and catch his attention-"now...what do you think about our birthday gifts?"-he asked smiling

Ayame looked surprised thinking on how in the morning Reiji and Kei surprised him with a beautiful poker cards from Reiji and a silk fan from Kei

Besides the gifts like the hairpins and new belly dance costumes from his adoptive mother and the music cd's from his father... sometimes Ayama cant belive how in the 2-3 years he met them Mr and Mrs Enjouji gave him more parental love than his biológical parents in his whole live
