ryu sunjae from lovely runner - they are both absolute losers for their respective lovers. i can picture rafayel in that one scene where sunjae was blowing kisses towards sol's house. no matter how hard his beloved tries to cut him out from their life to save him, he will always find his way back into their life.

jeong guwon from my demon - similar to sunjae, guwon is also another loser for his wife. (tbh i can imagine rafayel as a down bad simp for his lover; cue thomas sighing and shaking his head.) i can picture rafayel in the scene whereby guwon and dohee were doing that tango while fighting off their enemies too?!?!

lee yeon from tale of the nine-tailed - continuing the loser boy train, we have yeon as the final dude to add in this group. (specifically yeon from s2, bc the way he wanted to go back to his timeline so badly to see jiah matches rafayel's "the only person i'll ever love is my lover" energy.) their backstories also match in the sense that yeon never stopped searching for jiah and rafayel never stopped waiting for his bride.

shin wooyeo from my roommate is a gumiho - again, another contract situation. wooyeo is a "classier" version of sylus imo, and one who uses less pet names. if sylus were the ml in this kdrama, he would defo keep an even more watchful eye on his beloved so that she doesn't go about losing his fox bead. (aur naur iw to write a gumiho au for sylus now...)

lee youngjoon from what's wrong with secretary kim? - similar to youngjoon, sylus will never let his lover leave. they want to leave his mansion? he will try 101 (legal) ways to make them stay. they will find snacks they like in their room more often. they will find new (and expensive) clothes in their wardrobe. heck, even an all-expenses-paid vacation! he wants to keep them close to him; he's afraid of them upping him to leave.

goo yeonjun from a time called you - like yeonjun, xavier has literally went back in time to save his beloved. he wants to see then safe and sound, and as long as they're happy, he's happy. as long as they're alive and breathing, he's fine with not being by their side. just watching them live their life is enough for him.

haru from extraordinary you - totally not projecting my all-time fav kdrama on him (or am i?) but xavier and haru have similar mannerisms and personality traits. yk how in the first few episodes danoh was dragging haru around and this guy just remained silent and followed along until one day he just started speaking? yeah that's the same with this guy. the person he likes could yap all day and he would willingly sit and listen.

moon seoha from see you in my 19th life - similar to seoha, xavier loves once in his life and he will only ever love his little star. he would never get over their death and if he's the one responsible for their death, he would be all the more upset with himself. he would throw himself into work all day and refuse to love again, thinking he shouldn't be able to fall in love ever again since he took his beloved's one chance of staying alive and happy away.

moon suho from black knight - they're both so overprotective of the one they love. the way suho essentially told sharon that haera is the only woman he would ever love is something i can picture zayne doing. if someone is out there trying to harm his beloved, you'd best believe zayne would do his best to prevent that from happening, even if it means giving up his own life.

lee suhyeok from bora! deborah - when zayne loves, he loves hard. like suhyeok, he's clumsy at expressing his affections, choosing to keep everything to himself and wait until he's 100% certain it's the right time to say whatever he wants to say. and sometimes, that can lead to disastrous endings (see also: suhyeok getting dumped on the same day he went to buy an engagement ring for his girlfriend). both men are careful to a fault, all the more so with their beloved because they're scared of losing someone precious to them again.

yoo jihyuk from marry my husband - zayne, like jihyuk, would willingly stand aside and watch the one he loves fall in love with someone else. he would be supportive and wouldn't try to fight for their affection. his motto is "if they're happy, i'm happy" and he can live being an unmarried old man as long as he sees them happy.

I am usually okay with changes if I have read the webtoon/novel prior to the kdrama but I am not sure I'm liking them adding the bob haired girl and the implication that she is Seoha's mom, I don't think it's useful at the end and it is only more angst and I want only happy moments

idk personally i was expecting the car accident to be in the first ten minutes like a jumpscare, but i like how it was drawn out and hinted at throughout the episode. also i am soooo smug abt already knowing what joowon was telling seoha before she died. like that ate me up when i was reading the manhwa but now 😏 hehe. but im still saur excited for the reveal in the kdrama

they put so much money into this. it is deserved i enjoy it it is slaying etc etc

love the child actors… seoha’s child actor looks like hwanwoong so much though that i couldn’t take him 100% seriously as seoha. i’d see him and im like OMGGGGG…. who made baby hwanwoong CRY????

love how they contextualized ban jieum’s prev lives…. her past lives were things i always wanted more of. i wanted to know how she exactly became the person she is today. because i feel entitled to knowing how my wife became so <3

ban jieum as a child is the funniest thing ever like she just has a mission to see seoha again and then she’s doing the most outlandish things to get there. shes like “he made me feel like a child again and forget my remembering of my past lives” and then she becomes a child laborer. for him. girl i love you

really love the expansion of jieum and ae-gyeong’s relationship. in all im a very big fan of how many things have become contextualized and grounded in the kdrama vs the manhwa. but i still love the manhwa so much….. lee hye's manhwa ban jieum will always have a grip on me

great first episode…. got all the feelings and put everything in order for the viewer to understand ban jieum’s world

i actually never told this to anyone, but i always thought this would make a GREAT kdrama. like it has all the kdrama tropes (emotionally repressed and traumatized chaebol, poor but hardworking female lead, side couple, car accident, mom dies, one [1] friend each for the female and male leads) and an interesting quirk (ban jieum <3). so im so so so happy please take care of me in this life as well has a kdrama and it has so much money and effort put into it. and the actors are wonderful so far and beloved…. like apparently ahn bohyun lost some weight to play seoha bc seoha’s supposed to look frail 😭😭😭 GOD HELP ME that is so true hes like a flower you accidentally stepped on but you pick it up and nurture it because it has a certain charm abt it. this is why i trust ahn bohyun for this role... its like he peeked in my brain. anyways. if you told me two years ago one of my favorite manhwa EVER would have a kdrama like this i would say “it’s deserved” but i’d be hiding a smile.

Last Wednesday Twitter was exploding with the hashtag #SEOHAE and #BANGCHAN, many said it was due to a misunderstanding, but since there are many people who still do not understand what is happening between the two idols, stay and read this article. Seohae is the 22-year-old leader who just debuted about a year ago in the girl group DREAMS under the agency Pledis Entertainment which is part of HYBE Labels, she did a live where she talked to her fans and they played a game just for having fun, where she answered things like: What was her favorite group, if she had an ultimate bias or what was the last album she bought.

But they asked him a question about Bangchan if he seemed attractive, since it is no secret to anyone that the leader and eldest of Stray Kids was a pretty handsome boy and everyone was dead for him, also because of how kind and how good he makes you feel. to many people around the world and Seohae was as sincere as possible saying this: "Bangchan? Miyeon was only busy looking good in front of the cameras all the time and Seohae kept using her cell phone or checking that the oldest of the group and the youngest did not kill each other. When they got to the entrance of the house they didn't even ring the bell, just pushing it and leaving Yeji, who was the last to enter, to close it, they took off their shoes, each taking their respective slippers that Munyeong was in charge of buying.

━Mom, we are here! Seohae yells, looking her way.

I'm in the kitchen! ━The woman yells back, Seohae tells the girls to go while she was in charge of going to her room in search of some things, the members said yes and headed to the kitchen to help their leader's mother. Seohae went up the stairs knowing exactly the way and went into the room seeing that it was the same as when she left, she opened the closet to take some things and when she pulled a box the photo album she made when she was fourteen fell to the floor.

━God, is this still alive? ━He takes it from the floor and sits on the bed to pass his hand and see that it was completely clean, the cleaners took it very seriously. She opens it seeing the first photos of her as a child, photos of her family, with her parents, on her birthday, riding a bike, but one photo in particular caught her attention and she took it out to run down the stairs towards the kitchen. ━Hey, mom…

See You in My 19th Life - Episode 10

And with this I will be all caught up again with this series. While I’m still upset with the changes, I would say I am still happy that I am watching this. It is perhaps not as good as the Webtoon, but I think that for someone who hasn’t read it, this might be very good and pleasant to watch.

I thought the beginning of the episode was just a replay of last episode, but it gave a little extra that wasn’t there earlier. Seoha offers a necklace and earrings set to Ji-eum. He finally asks her out and promises that this time he’ll stay by her side. Seoha is super worried when Ji-eum gets weak from her past life vision. Mingi is seeming even more suspicious than ever. I liked him better in the webtoon version. He was annoying, but didn’t feel creepy at all. Once he’s convinced that Ji-eum’s alright, they go to their hotel to spend the night. She dreams some more and. learns that she was Su and that the man that looked like Seoha was Hanya. She can’t remember the person calling her name in the dream though. Then she goes to Seoha’s room. She needs to get rid of her stalker habits, she doesn’t need to anymore. Seoha wakes up and lets her sleep with him. And I don’t know, but that’s really only possible in tv shows I guess. While I love cuddling my partner before going to bed, I can’t stand sleeping face to face and feeling their breathing on me. It’s disgusting. So how can they sleep so close to each other that their nose are almost touching. It makes me shiver just to think about it.

Aegyeong collapsed and Mingi calls Ji-eum to let her know. He seems very hostile to Seoha.

Daehwan guy tries again to humiliate Doyun, but he smoothly avoids it. Then Chowon gets mad at him for speaking out of turn. Daehwan guy definitely has his eyes on Chowon, but she’s too good for you man.

Mingi tells Hanna that Aegyeong is sick. He hopes this will help to convince Ji-eum. Also Hanna doesn’t have to remember her past lives anymore, she hands him back some sort of token sign. So he’s going to tell her what to do next.

Seoha received a box with files convicting Mrs Jang from fund embezzlements. She’s in deep trouble. He already spoke to his dad about it. He thought Doyun might have found those, but it wasn’t him. Obviously, it was Hanna. Anyways, the board agreed to dismiss her of her functions. And Seoha’s dad kicks her out. Now, can anyone tell me what’s the meaning behind gladiolus? Those are the flowers in the hotel and Seoha’s mom’s favourites. She mentioned the meaning of it, but we don’t get to hear what it is. Google says strength and integrity. Hanna says goodbye to Seoha and offers him a turtle keychain. Which is weird for him since he doesn’t know that she’s his mom. Though he kind of figures it out on his own.

Mingi tells Ji-eum that getting involved with people from one’s past life is causing them pain. She has to let go of those relationships. He also says that the answer to stop remembering her past lives is in her first life. She needs to remember everything. Else, everyone she reconnected with will meet the same fate Aegyeong. Because the surgery won’t save her. Please inset your favourite soft sweat word here. Now Chowon’s in her past life too. WHY? They totally changed her first life. I’m so upset with this. Chowon and Seoha both weren’t in her first life. That’s so annoying. Why did they change it to something so bad. Ugh. Mingi sends Seoha to Ji-eum while she’s remembering her sister being killed because of Seoha like guy. So she’s sort of possessed by her emotions and she tries to strangle Seoha. They really ruined. I’m going to finish it because there are two episodes left, but they did shit with this. Yeah, in the Webtoon too she tried to kill Seoha, but that wasn’t because he looked like the guy who killed her sister. And her sister wasn’t Chowon in her first life. I’m not going to say who it is, because I don’t want to spoil the Webtoon, but gosh this is so annoying. There’s no way to redeem this adaptation in my eyes now. They ruined the best part of it.

Anyways. We’ll know if Seoha will survive next week. Stay tunned.

Hi again!

I'm glad you enjoy the drama. Episode nine and ten were the climax for me, before that, I was questioning the pace ("It's already episode 8, what do we have so far?" kind of). This week's episodes gave many stuff (you mentioned some in your answer), I was like wooaaaooo.

I'm doing fine, thank you. I enjoyed my holiday. Now, I'll be back to the usual daily life and wait for the new episode of Delightfully Deceitful lol.

The drama goes fine and I hope it goes well till the end. It's the only kdrama that survived successfully among the ones I'm waiting to watch.

The 19th Life doesn't go well for me. I made a mistake by reading the webtoon. It increased my expectations to a higher point and the drama doesn't keep up with it. I'll be checking the gifsets tho.

I watched Celebrity. I'm so happy that I got to watch the actress as a solid character. Minhyuk from CNBlue did a great job, too. I was always on my toes and tried to figure out his character's real color. It was a good mixture. (I'd like to know your thoughts if you ever happen to watch it in the future!) For the drama, it had a great introduction but didn't have my attention till the end.

Everything about this is AMAZING. The art, the storyline, and the characters—I absolutely loved it so much.

It's so heartbreaking to see Seoha still suffering, given that it's been 23 years since the accident. He's traumatized so much. Through his monologue, I can feel the guilt and pain that he's endured. Every time I see him cry, my heart aches </3

Seoha and Doyun's dynamic is soo hilarious 😂 Seoha, who is very predictable like an open book and Doyun, who is sassy and has a sharp tongue. When I read the backstory about how they became best friends, I was sobbing 😭 If it's not because of Doyun, I think Seoha couldn't make it this far. The bromance we love to see 💗

I also cried when Chowon's one-sided love was finally avenged 😭😭😭 Chowon fell first, and Doyun fell harder. Both of them deserved each other 🤧💗

For me, Jieum and Seoha's relationship is beautiful yet painful at the same time. Jieum put in so much effort only to meet Seoha again. And I'm glad they have a happy ending 🥺🥺🥺

💬 Sports World: Ryu Kyungsoo Interview on The Bequeathed (Star Talk)

There are actors who present a new face with every project. Ryu Kyungsoo is one of them. In the Netflix series 'The Bequeathed', he appears with unkempt hair and beard, anxious eyes, and an unstable gait, much like observing a wild animal.

The moment the name Ryu Kyungsoo comes to mind, viewers develop a trust in the actor. They become immersed in the work, wondering, "How will this actor portray the character?"

'The Bequeathed' is a story that unfolds after Yoon Seoha (Kim Hyunjoo), who inherits a burial ground she had forgotten existed following the death of her distant uncle, experiences a series of ominous events and uncovers related secrets. Directed by Min Hongnam and planned and scripted by Yeon Sangho, it quickly became a hot topic, reaching fourth place in the global TOP10 (non-English) category shortly after its premiere on the 19th of last month.

Ryu Kyungsoo took on the role of Kim Youngho, a half-brother unknown to Yoon Seoha. Kim Youngho appears at the funeral home, claiming a stake in the burial ground and gradually showing his obsession.

Ryu Kyungsoo said, "I had faith in Director Yeon Sangho. His production is harmonious, comfortable, and a happy workplace. Initially, when I saw the script, I didn't dare to portray the character of Youngho. But I thought taking on the challenge would help me grow as an actor and be fun. Among the characters I've played, he was the most challenging."

The character is a spoiler in itself. Why did he think it was "the most challenging"? He explained, "The focus for Youngho was on creating a sense of alienation. I wanted to create a character who could not be found in everyday life, unpredictable. I had many discussions with the director. The conclusion was to give off the vibe of a wild animal that has been ousted from its group."

It took two hours just for the makeup, from crooked teeth to white hair and a beard. Ryu had his reasons for suggesting these ideas. "I thought he would be very wary and very lonely. There was a one-take action scene in a building, which is one of the scenes that showcase Youngho. I wanted it to look like a wild animal struggling for survival just before being hunted," he added.

There were moments when speaking as the character came naturally. "It's the last kiln scene. After Yoon Seoha and my mother, Yun Myunghee, escape from the kiln thanks to her, and my consciousness returns. And I look at my mother and say, 'Let's go, mom, let's go home quickly,' which wasn't in the script. It was a desire to stop enduring such tiring events and to go rest at home, the safest place, with my mother, the most precious person to me," he mentioned, "When my mother jumps into the pit of fire, and Young-ho can't follow her, his distorted face is captured on screen, showing an expression I've never seen before. That scene touched me the most in this work."

'The Bequeathed' garnered attention as a "Korean-style occult" genre, involving phenomena that can not be scientifically explained, mystical, and supernatural. Ryu mentioned, "When I read the script, I felt it was 'very mysterious,' and 'the atmosphere itself was eerie.' This is a point of interest for 'The Bequeathed'."

The mysterious aura of the work and character was enhanced by Ryu Kyungsoo's three hundred eyes, which was also one of his charming points the reporter noticed in person. Hence, the question: Does he use his unique eyes as a weapon as an actor?

Ryu laughed, "I'm not the type to think 'I should make this expression' before shooting. But it seems to have been effectively used for this character."

He continued, "When I was younger, I was often misunderstood as 'glaring.' If I had been advised to get double eyelid surgery while preparing to become an actor, I might have felt it as a complex, but fortunately, people around me said my eyes were charming. I took it as a compliment."

Till the end, Ryu Kyungsoo did not forget to promote his work. "If I were to compare it to food, this work is like saying, 'There's also this flavour.' It's a story about family wrapped in a mystery genre. I think there are many elements that viewers will find interesting. I would be grateful if many people watched it."

a miniature bud grows in the top corner of the MUSEUM OF MAGIC’s fashion exhibit. it has three blooming petals, each with a different pattern. the first is of tiger stripes, the second akin to a red fabric with white spots, and the third is a sparkling aquamarine. / @yeongsukwx

a brilliant crimson bud curls its elongated stem around DALKOMMCHA’s bubble tea display. upon closer inspection, the petals seem to have the appearance of scales. / @sooyunwx

a miniature technicolour bud grows around the handrail of the ACADEMY’S STAIRCASE, its roots completely exposed. the edges of the bud is lined with black, as though sketched. / @wxjeongmin

on the edge of the WEST’S BOUNDARIES, a bud perseveres against the cracked soil. its large petals alternate in colour, with midnight blue and firetruck red overlapping throughout the bud.

a plain white bud greets passersby at the entrance of a NORTH RESIDENTIAL APARTMENT BUILDING, tinged a sunny yellow as someone whistles cheerily past it, and fades to blue when another hangs their head down as they leave.

wish tree

her first memory is of giving day.

seona— it’d been mama, then— wraps jihyun up in a scarf she plucks from her own neck, and jiyeon, only 5 and a mere 2 years older than jihyun, demands to know if she’s cold, trying to take her own coat off for her younger sister. winters find them all huddled around seona, because seohae winters are vicious, and there’s no need for a big, bulky heater that might set the house on fire when dependable mama is around.

they come to the giving tree every year, and buy a sprout from one of the vendors situated around the base of the tree. that year, the ribbon tied around the pot is a bright red, which jihyun wears around her head the entirety of the drive back. they keep the ribbons every year, and tie them around the little plant that never quite seems to grow quite right.

that year, she wishes, hands clasped together, for everyone to be happy like today.

the last time she comes to the tree is when jiho’s 3, and she’s 16. old enough to not be a complete asshole and ruin the magic for jiho, but still enough of a pissy teenager it dampens the mood. an awful extended family dinner, plus her suspension doesn’t help much, either, and there’s a frosty silence between her and her mother that even an alight science lab can’t thaw. 

it’s a year of change— her siblings have moved out, both having gotten into university, and she’s stressed and sensitive studying for entrance exams. 

still, they buy the sprout like they do every year. jiho pulls the ribbon off before jihyun’s even done making the bow, and she gets so annoyed she leaves first and walks until she can get a cab home. she’s not proud of it now, but anything goes when you’re 16 and feel like the entire world’s against you.

she returns the next day, after she unwraps the 5 presents under the tree with her name on it, and wishes they’ll all be together. 

(maybe it’s because she makes the wish after giving day, but it doesn’t come true.)

the first giving day without her siblings, she visits the giving tree. in the morning, so she doesn’t run into her family. 

as always, it stands tall and proud, and jihyun really wants to take an axe to its trunk and hack to her heart’s content, because what amount of wishes will bring her siblings back? how many mythical sprouts will she have to cultivate to have them all be together again?

she doesn’t, because 1) she doesn’t want to go to jail, and 2) she’s sure the giving tree’s magic is stronger than hers. 

(maybe when she’s an enchantix….)

she buys a sprout for her own room; maybe this time, with the help of some of her handy nature fairy friends, it won’t wilt within a month! 

it proves to be an awful decision, because jihyun forgets her bag is full of gifts she’s yet to hand out, so she’s lumped with a pot spilling soil, all the way from beomseok’s dorm room, where she leaves a pair of gloves, to the other end of the campus. there’s a little jihyun trail, and she wonders if there’ll be enough soil for the plant by the time she’s finished flitting around the entirety of sma. no matter if not— just a small matter of soil theft, to help plantie thrive!

she doesn’t so much as find the sprout as much as kicks it over. after jihyun’s finished a string of curses that’d make maruhan herself roll over in her grave, she moves plantie to find… plantie #2. 

a friend!

a friend she cannot carry, because she’s already struggling enough with plantie #1.

the mythical sprout’s the furthest thing from her mind— excuse her for being occupied! — but she does feel bad a plant’s just out in the cold like that, and resolves to come back for it if no one’s grabbed it before then. she gets 3 meters, before she’s doubling back and hefting it on her other hip. 

after the trials and tribulations of hefting 2 plants and an oversized bag full of presents she’s yet to hand out to the girls’ dorm back to her place, jihyun sets them down on the coffee table. 

hopefully bitna won’t throw a fit over these…

it’s a rather handsome sprout— a deep navy bud with petals dotted a glimmering yellow, blossoming at the heart of the academy’s NORTHWEST COURTYARD, and plantie #1 pales in comparison to it, even if it’d been the cutest sprout available. jihyun resolves to give #1 more fertiliser, but she’ll have to make a trip to central for that. now, though, she can definitely do this for #2.

with a little wave of her hand (and a sigh of relief nothing else got set on fire), she heats some water up and pours it into the soil, humming an old song about the giving tree.

oh, shit.
