Gonna get real personal and weird and sappy under the cut, so here's a short version of my NYE message to everyone who sees this post:

TL;DR: Thank you so much to everyone who's ever interacted with me this year, whether it was through random asks or interacting with my stories. Many of you have been some of the better parts of my 2024, and I am happy to be a part of the LADS community we have built here. Wishing you all good health, happiness, and cheering you all on in your personal endeavors for the future. Hope you all stick around a little longer. I really like a lot of you 🥹💖

Sappy yappy time 🧍‍♀️

It's no secret that the last three years of my life has been my lowest point, especially 2023 through half of 2024 when I've been designated as the go-to person to handle simultaneously four major family crises that had robbed me essentially 1.5 years of my life. My mental health had taken a nosedive, and I was still functioning more like a zombie well into the first few months of 2024.

When I say LADS had probably saved me, it's not an exaggeration. I won't go into too much detail, but I am grateful to the community here. I've found joy in past hobbies again (mainly writing), and I have enjoyed meeting and interacting with so many of you. Many of you probably don't even know that you have contributed to helping me regain my past self again. I'm probably the happiest I've been in years. Thank you 💖💖💖

My go-to tip to new writers has always been to write for yourself. Write the stories that you want to read (and do read afterwards!), and I practice what I preach. After all, who else is gonna write Sylus getting cockblocked by Mephisto if not me 😈 or the questionable number of Sylus breeding kink fics.........

So many of you have shared with me on both tumblr and AO3 that you find my stories comforting and that you reread them often, especially on your bad days. I feel honored that I can help make your days a little brighter through my writings and my stories. These are some of the highest praises I could ever receive. I have so many stories planned for 2025, and I'm so excited to share with you all! Thank you for your continuous support 🥺🫶

And to everyone who has come to view me as a friend, an older sister figure, a comfort person/blog, a safe space, I am more than happy to accept whatever title you have given me! Almost immediately, though I often feel like I am not doing them justice.

what's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

Uh... that's a hard one. I have written SO much Angst. The most likely candidate are probably Guilt and shame (Sirius/Voldemort) though that feels a little cracky to me, and Window of opportunity (Sirius/Severus)

what's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

I don't really do HEA, and all my happy endings have at least a sprinkle of sadness or at least scars from what was going on before. I think the most hopeful is probably Advent Calendar, a Drarry with Christmassy feeling and a soft ending.

do you write crossovers?

There is one WIP on my harddrive. That aside....

have you ever received hate on a fic?

I wouldn't say hate. Some people were upset about how I characterized their blorbos (faulty, how dare I), but real hatred? No. Maybe I am just too weird to get when someone means it hateful.

do you write smut?

OH yes!

have you ever had a fic stolen?

yep, unauthorized translation. My Russian is too bad to get it taken down (and I would have ALLOWED it, if they only asked)

Yes, as mentioned in Russian, but also in Spanish and Czech.

As of yet, no... though I would love to work with some people

what's a wip that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

A Black family project, where the younger generation unites to prevent being used as pawns by their parents and grandparents.

Oh yeah.. and the Arturian legend fic (Modred/Galahad) that i so want to write)

what are your writing strengths?

Emotion, Dialogue, description (when I bother), characterization

what are your writing weaknesses?

Fight scenes. They are my nemesis. I never seem to get them right (and I am doing a good deal of LARP, so I know how fights work in general)

Comedy. I can't be funny on command.

what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

No strong feelings here. I have done it either way, both translated and with only translations in the footnotes, and both are valid.

what's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?

Discworld, my forever unachieved goal. WIth how I struggle to write funny, I just couldn't do it justice.

what's your favourite fic you've written?

Impossible to choose just one. Even Categories don't do it justice. Also: it depends on my current state of mind, which I think is best.

3. Tell me about one of your fics you think is underrated/underappreciated.

Answered this one, but I will say that honestly any of my Lucien fics are underappreciated for virtue of focusing on characters that barely anyone likes. Which is FIIIINE. I've attracted the attention of a dedicated following of Lucien fans... And people willing to appreciate him in the right hands.

8. Who are some of your favourite authors in your fandom?

Aw jeez. Okay, in Hazbin Hotel fandom it's easier because the fandom itself is SO HUGE that I tend to stick to a few authors: magpienear, @birdsaretoddlers @prince-liest @spoondrifts have definitely been my focus, but shoutout to @winekita for writing hilarious fic in BOTH of my fandoms.

In CR fandom, @fruitzbat writes the fics I would write if Kingsley were my blorbo and I was super smart and I'm glad he's here doing the Lord's work in this fandom. @mareastrorum is also out there writing "let's take CR2 and BREAK IT" AU fic and doing fucking amazing at it. @operafloozy writes amazing character work and character studies. @professor-rye is so so great and a fellow friend in the longfic trenches. Um. Honestly, look at my bookmarks and you will probably find a lot of repeat offenders.

22. Do you reply to comments?

Yes, and I will also never shut up if you point out something you found cool. I'm like HERE'S AN ADDITIONAL FIVE HUNDRED WORDS ABOUT WHY I DID THAT.

30. What do you struggle with most when writing?

Description and atmosphere, but mainly because I'm always comparing myself to people who are like... god-tier at it. Like I know my strengths are in character work/voice, but god I ALSO want to be good at invoking peerless imagery. Genuinely all of the writers I linked up there are way better at describing things than I am.

36. What's your fic with the happiest ending?

Honestly... of like the genuinely long fics with an actual conflict that isn't just a simple scene or a fic based on vibes (because I have a lot of happy fics that are just vibes), I'd have to go with shattered stage, because even when Molly, Lucien, and King separate and go back to their own timelines, it ends with them being brought back together to see each other again and that gets my heart so good.

No and I never will. Not for me.

some of my happiest 2023 memories happened because of this hellsite lol

so many fun things happened! i made friends, got adopted, cried because of roleplay, promised to draw things for people and never did, almost got burned alive because someone *coughcough* iceeericeee *cough* decided to blowtorch the cage i was locked in, cried some more because people accepted my for the ever changing person i was, got into new fandoms, got into new art forms, got out of an abusive relationship, got into therapy lmao, got a dog, confessed to a crush, god it was fun times

almost every night for the spring and summer on 2023 ya girl was eating upppppp moot fam roleplay. i would stay up pull alnighters staring at my 2014 ipad mini waiting for someone in my family to reblog my post, or hide in the bathroom at school staring at my apple watch waiting for angelo to start the post for our next little adventure.

What are his general feelings about his family and Oryn?

Kristopher hates his family. And for good reason. They were nothing but abusive asshole to him his entire childhood. Really the only person from his family he has good relationship or memories with is his older sister. And that's actually another thing he resents his family for. His parents married off his sister to a foreign noble, and he hasn't seen her in years. Also, Kristopher resents his family, particularly his father, for ruining Oryn. Because for all the shit the kingdom has put him through, he loves it. And he knows that the people there deserve much, much better than his father as a king. Pierre keeps the majority of the people in poverty, and thousands of people work in the mines and lumber yards, which pour money into his coffers. Kris knows that his father is ruining the kingdom, both via its people and its natural resources, and he hates him for it. And his brothers are no better. None of them would make a good king. But Kris doesn't want to be king, either. He's not knowledgeable enough, doesn't have the temper for it, and is hated by all of the nobility. So he kind of feels stuck.

What’s his happiest childhood memory?

Kristopher's best memory was probably one of two things. There was one time when he was a child, his sister brought him a birthday cake, because everyone else has either forgotten it was his birthday or was ignoring him on purpose. The other option is the first time that he met Phillip. (his horse) Phillip was born at the stables, so when Kris met him for the first time, he was only a few days old. He instantly fell in love with the little foal. He spent a lot of time with Phillip, and as soon as he was old enough, and had been trained, Kris claimed him as his own. (I'm thinking that Phillip is in the range of 12-14 years old, so Kris has known him since he (Kris) was 12-ish.)

What made him realize he was falling for Fallon?

Oh, buckle in for a ride on this one.... Before meeting Fallon, Kris had never actually had a serious relationship. He knew that anyone he was with would face similar ridicule from his parents and most of the kingdom's nobility. So he never went looking for a serious relationship. He didn't want to put that kind of weight on anyone. Not to mention that he had basically convinced himself that no one could ever love him. So it takes Kris a while to realize what he feels for Fallon. And when he finally does, it's under rather... traumatic circumstances. It's the night Lavinia tries to kill Fallon. Kristopher wakes up to people shouting and running in the hallway outside his room. He tries to figure out what's going on, and when he finally finds out, he flips out and tries to find Fallon. But the palace guards restrain him, since they don't know if he knows anything about the attack. (They don't suspect him, but they're keeping everyone under lock down as a precaution.) So after that, Kris has several anxious, miserable hours locked in his room to just think. He imagines all sorts to horrible scenarios where Fallon is hurt or dead or kidnapped. And in that time, something in his brain finally clicks. As to why it is that he reacted so strongly to the possibility of Fallon being in danger. The feeling was so alien to him that he didn't recognize it. To quote Kristopher in one of the last scenes in the book: "I've never been in love before, but I know that I love you, because what else could love possibly feel like?"

What’s his biggest regret?

On his worst days (mostly pre-Anvia), being born. During/after the book, the thing he regrets most is probably the scene I like to call The Incident. All the things he said to Fallon in that scene, he regrets them a lot. Even though they were mostly bad about himself rather than bad about her, they hurt a lot for her to hear, and he regrets everything he did that night.
