Had the audacity to ask Son to please give me until 6am without the noise videos (they are grating, shrill, high-pitched, repetitive, mechanical squealing with him humming one low, droning note at the same time and I wish I could get him to wear his headphones but that kind of shrill squeal would probably come through anyway) and he’s mad at me and went back to bed.

I feel bad because he doesn’t get to enjoy his noise at all when That Guy is home and he relaxes and is himself more around me because he can, but to be fully honest I hate the noise as much as That Guy does and can only tolerate it so much.

The only difference is that That Guy demands he never do it and I don’t, I bear it for a while so Son can enjoy what he enjoys. It’s not like Son is ever home alone.

I need quiet time and it’s been 3 days straight of That Guy baby talking and demanding every second of my attention while he plays games, grabbing me, insulting me, and belittling me. He starts in at 4am when he gets up in the morning, then he finally leaves and Son rushes out of bed to start the noise videos. I go to bed earlier than they do for a little quiet but as soon as I leave the room That Guy starts in on the boy because I’m not paying attention to him anymore.

I just need a few minutes of peaceful quiet now and then. It’s not too much to ask.

I wish I could get that without one or the other of them being angry at me for it.

Anyway, it’s Tuesday which means mowing and chores and no rest day this week due to yesterday being a holiday meaning That Guy was home. Chores don’t get done on the weekends, either. I have to sit on the couch doing nothing because if I stop paying attention to That Guy for a minute he makes life hell for everyone and if I go to another room to breathe for a moment he starts baby-voice calling for me across the house and live-reporting everything he does. If I go down to the basement he stomps back and forth over my head and yells at Son.

I need to work on ponies but can’t do ponies on mowing day. I don’t have the spoons for both. Hopefully Son will be willing to help with mowing despite being mad at me for asking him to give me a minute of quiet.

I think I need to order new spools of line for the trimmer because the ones I have aren’t auto-feeding. I haven’t run the trimmer in weeks and need to do that today. I may try rewinding the new line on the old spool from the older trimmer and see if that auto feeds. If it does, then it’s the spools that are the problem and not the line. As much of a pain in the ass it would be to handwind the spools every time, I might have to in order to get the job done.

Slight delay in recording the winder video - sorry! Tonight using YouTube we repaired our malfunctioning Keurig - it’s fixed. Java our cat is impatiently waiting for us to use the winder! (Java did this without encouragement and I caught it on video) :)

lately i've been using a cut up plastic straw rubber banded to my little handheld dremel that i use for doll modifications - it doesn't wind the bobbins super tight and evenly, but it's way better than handwinding. One day I'd LOVE to have an actual winder, or at least a little drill to stick a winder bit onto, but this'll do for now.
