Felt Cat Caves: Exploring Comfort and Style in Cat Cave Designs
When it comes to providing comfort and a sense of security for our feline friends, nothing beats the allure of a felt cat cave. These unique pet accessories have gained popularity among cat owners for their exceptional features and benefits.
A felt cat cave, as the name suggests, is a cozy, cave-like structure made from felt, designed to offer your cat a private, warm, and comfortable space to relax. The unique design of these cat caves caters to the natural instinct of cats to curl up in small and cozy spaces, making them an instant favorite.
Tumblr media
One of the main advantages of a felt cat cave is its material. Felt, a non-woven fabric, is known for its excellent insulating properties. This means that a felt cat cave can keep your cat warm during the colder months and cool during the summer, providing year-round comfort.
Moreover, felt cat caves are eco-friendly. They are often made from natural wool, which is a renewable resource. This makes them a great choice for environmentally conscious pet owners.
When choosing a felt cat cave, consider the size of your cat and the cave's design. Ensure it is spacious enough for your cat to move around comfortably, but also snug enough to provide that cozy feel cats love.
Felt cat caves come in various designs and colors, allowing you to choose one that matches your home decor or your cat's personality. Whether you prefer a minimalist design or a more elaborate one, there's a felt cat cave to suit your taste.
Tumblr media
In conclusion, a felt cat cave is more than just a pet accessory. It's a cozy retreat that caters to your cat's natural instincts, providing them with a sense of security and comfort. Whether you have a playful kitten or a senior cat who loves their downtime, a felt cat cave is a worthy addition to your pet's comfort zone.
Remember, a happy cat makes for a happy home. So why not invest in a felt cat cave and give your feline friend the comfort they deserve?

Story of Palzom Deckey; A Handicraft shop owner in Tabo, Spiti Valley (the trans-Himalayan region) in Himachal Pradesh
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I first came to visit Tabo in 1989 and saw how remote and otherworldly it was, I was so mesmerized - shortly after that I left."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I came back again in 2007, during the time my father-in-law used to run this shop, and shortly after that, I and my husband used to handle this handicraft shop. When we started, there was no connectivity to the town, and we didn't really have a proper shop.
- From one of the first shop owners in a remote Himalayan region where only offbeat travellers dared to visit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We used to have a tent cloth (tarpaulin) which we used as a roof over our head for the shop, after a long while when we both had a hard time convincing our landlord that we are facing many issues as we have to wrap up everything by 5 pm in the evening, we need a proper structure and dimensions for our shop, and after continuous efforts, we built this shop that you're seeing today. And this was all back in the year 2009!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It took us 3-4 hours every single day to set up our shop, back then it used to be on a woven cot. The types of items we sold were antique pieces and handicrafts from Nepal, Tibet, and regional India. When we started in Tabo, it was extremely remote than it is today. The streets were empty, they were not even built. There was no connectivity and the only shop that existed was mine alone. There was the Tabo Monastery and its guest house. During that time, his Holiness Dalai Lama initiated Kala-Chakra and I met him for his teaching. Majorly foreign tourists visited for 'off-beat travel' in those days. There were no apple orchards, homestays, or any vegetation. Life was different and serene back then, my business boomed and has boomed since then, though after the pandemic hit it has been difficult to sustain the business, as I run a shop here in Tabo in the summers and at Goa in winter.
Tumblr media
A self-made woman in business, a daughter, a mother, and a grandmother, and our very own sweet and loving aunty, Deckey Palzom.

To take the knitting analogy further, if Chomsky were a knittist instead of a linguist, he would be interested only in the abstract rules of Knitting (capitalizing the word, as he does with Language) such as the following: Row 20: P 1, (k 1, p 1) 11(13-15) times, k 5, T R 2, k 4, TR 2, k 1, p 12, k 1, T L 2, k 4, T L 2, k 5, p 1, (k 1, p 1) 11(13-15) times.(7) Chomsky the knittist would posit the existence of a Knitting Acquisition Device (KAD, rather than LAD, a Language Acquisition Device), a specialized module of the brain that allows people to acquire knitting skills. While he would acknowledge that people require exposure to knitting in their social environments in order to learn how to knit, he would be completely uninterested in the following:
• How or why people learn to knit in various cultures and communities.
• How knitting practices have changed over time.
• The gendered nature of knitting and other handicrafts in many societies (although knitting is often associated with girls and women in this society, for example, handicrafts such as weaving were until recently conventionally produced by lower-caste men in Nepal).
• The role of Madame Defarge in A Tale of Two Cities, by Charles Dickens, as she secretly encodes the names of counterrevolution-aries into her knitting.(8)
