US Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib retweeted a claim that “Israeli settlers” had “kidnapped and executed” a Palestinian boy. In fact the boy was found by Israeli emergency services dead in a cistern on Saturday morning after going missing on Friday. Nevertheless, some Palestinian social media accounts incited against Israel, with small clashes resulting in East Jerusalem.
A Twitter account called “Real Seif Bitar” tweeted that the boy had been kidnapped and executed and showed a video of the boy’s body being found by emergency services. The tweet claimed that the boy was kidnapped by “Israeli settlers, assaulted and thrown in a water well, was found this morning frozen to death in Beit Hanina, Jerusalem after Israeli forces assaulted search teams.” Palestinian politician Hanan Ashrawi re-tweeted the allegation and added “the heart just shatters, the pain is unbearable, no words.” Congresswoman Tlaib then retweeted the Ashrawi tweet that included the allegations.
However Ashrawi apologized for her tweet. “My apologizes for re-tweeting something that’s not fully verified. It seems that the news of his being kidnapped is not certain.” She also tweeted other clarifications and then appeared to delete the tweet. Tlaib’s retweet was also was thereafter deleted but she did not apologize for spreading the false information.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The tweet accusing Israelis of kidnapping and murder and which actually shows the boy’s body being taken from the cistern by medical personnel has now been viewed 125,000 times. It has led to an outpouring of incitement against Israel. George Galloway, the UK politician, wrote “there are no words which can fully convey the evil of this story.” Many noted that Tlaib had erred in re-tweeting the false story. Arsen Ostrovsky wrote "seriously Rashida Tlaib?...this was a tragic case of a child who went missing and fell into a pool of rainwater, have you no shame in reposting these lies?" Many compared it to a modern day blood libel.

Tlaib retweeted blood libels by Miftah’s founder, Hanan Ashwari, wrongly blaming Israel for the death of a young Palestinian boy named Qais Abu Ramila, who, in fact, accidentally drowned. She has also associated with Abbas Hamideh, an ardent supporter of Hezbollah, the US-designated Lebanese Shiite terror group that seeks Israel’s destruction. Hamideh, who has praised the deceased arch-terrorist and child-murderer Samir Kuntar, has called Jews “Schlomos,” advocated the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Israel, and compared Israelis to Nazis. Like Omar, Tlaib is also a supporter of the BDS movement, which singles out Israel for opprobrium and seeks the insidious elimination of the Jewish state.
It is unsurprising then that Tlaib would be an advocate for the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). Tlaib and Lowenthal note that in 2018, “the Trump administration eliminated funding” to UNRWA, which they innocuously describe as merely an “organization charged with addressing the humanitarian needs of Palestinian refugees.” The coronavirus, they write, “does not recognize borders,” and “without aid and assistance, the Palestinian people will be greatly affected by this health crisis.”
But both members of Congress fail to mention UNRWA’s problematic history.
As CAMERA has documented, UNRWA’s politicized definition of a refugee has helped to perpetuate the Israel-Islamist conflict, allowing “refugees” to be used as pawns against the Jewish state. Indeed, at the dawn of the agency’s creation, there were an estimated 700,000 Palestinian Arab refugees; in 2020, there are a projected 6.4 million “refugees,” per UNRWA’s definition of the term.
Further, UNRWA employees have included members of US-designated terror groups, such as Hamas, which call for Israel’s destruction and the genocide of the Jewish people. UNRWA employees have also been caught promoting terrorism, and the organization’s facilities have been used by Hamas to hide weapons and launch rockets at Israeli civilians.
In 2015, a UN investigation found that UNRWA schools were used by Hamas to “hide weapons,” “launch attacks,” and use children as human shields. UNRWA “premises could have been used for an unknown period of time by members of a Palestinian armed group,” concluded the United Nations.

Media Doubles Down on Trump the Bigot
LOS ANGELES (OnlineColumnist.com), Aug. 21, 2019.--Slamming 73-year-old President Donald Trump for being anti-Semitic, the Democrat Party and media friends continued to paint Trump as a bigot for statements he made about American Jews not supporting him for president.  Without question, with the possible exception of former President George W. Bush, Trump has been Israel’s best friend, giving them more backing than any U.S. president. When Trump enforced a Congressional resolution declaring Jerusalem Israel’s capital Dec. 6, 2017, Trump distinguished himself as Israel’s best friend. Trump’s recent criticism of American Jews for backing the Democrat Party stem from the recent bout with 37-year-old Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Min.) and 43-year-old Rep. Rashida Talib (D-Mich.), the only two Muslims in the U.S. Congress.  Known for their anti-Semitic rhetoric, Trump backed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s ban from Israel.
Omar and Tlaib wanted to go to the West Bank, home to Tlaib’s Palestinian grandmother, to promote the BDS [Boycott, Divest and Sancitions] movement against Israel for “occupying” Palestinian territory.  Omar and Tlaib’s trip was sponsored by a known anti-Semitic Non-governmental Organization [NGO], Miftah Group, headed by anti-Israel Palestinian lawmaker Hanan Ashwari, known for publishing neo-Nazis calling for the destruction of Israel.  Democrat and media outlets don’t want the truth to come out about Omar and Tlaib but instead have chosen to attack Trump as an anti-Semite for questioning American Jews who support Tlaib and Omar.  Trump’s daughter Ivanka, a senior adviser to the president and her Orthodox Jewish husband Jared, also a senior Trump adviser, converted to Judaism.  Calling Trump anti-Semitic is so preposterous it can’t pass unnoticed.
When Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu banned Omar and Tlaib from Israel, he cited a 2017 law, passed by the Knesset [the Israeli parliament], banning foreigners who back the BDS Movement from entering Israel.  Yet members of the House, led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), were outraged by Israel banning members of the U.S. Congress.  Not one Democrat in Congress or member of the press questioned Omar and Tlaib’s affiliation with Ashwari’s anti-Israel Miftah Group, only talk about denying Omar and Tlaib entrance to Israel.  With nearly daily terror attacks from Palestinians on Israeli civilians and military, allowing Omar and Tlaib to incite more violence would have been a mistake.  “If you vote for a Democrat, you’re disloyal to Jewish people and you’re being disloyal to Israel,” Trump told reporters outside the White House, prompting a media backlash.
Trump tried to make the point that he’s been Israel’s best friend since taking office Jan. 20, 2017.  Certainly recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital was a bold move in support of the peace process.  Trump hoped to bring West Bank leader 83-year-old Mahmoud Abbas back to the peace table but instead Abbas broke off diplomatic relations with the U.S. Trump retaliated in kind Aug. 24, 2018 cutting off $200 million in Palestinian aid.  Abbas announced Aug. 19 that he was firing his Cabinet, expecting rank-and-file government workers to take a 50% pay cut and return past bonuses to the government.  Abbas finds his Ramallah-based government out of cash because he broke off diplomatic relations with the U.S.  But Omar and Tlaib wanted to go to Israel to promote the BDS movement, talking about Israel, the Mideast’s only democracy, as an Apartheid state.
Turning Omar and Tlaib’s behavior on its head, the media now promotes Trump as an anti-Semite for questioning Jewish loyalty to the Democrat Party.  “In my opinion, Democrats have gone very far away from Israel,” Trump said, listening to anti-Semitic black preachers like Rev. Louis Farrakhan, known for his anti-Semitic rants.  With over 80% of American Jews voting for Democrats, Trump can’t fathom the backing. “I think any Jewish people that vote for a Democrat, I think it shows either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty,” referring backing anti-Semitic trends in the Democrat Party. No matter how the media cuts it, Trump a bigot, backing white nationalist groups some Jews hold responsible for the Oct. 27, 2018 Pittsburgh, Pa. Tree of Life Synagogue mass shooting, killing 11, injuring 7 by 46-year-old self-avowed white nationalist Gregory Robert Bowers.
Continuing the same fake narrative, the media has now accused Trump of anti-Semitism, when he’s been the most supportive president to Israel in U.S. history.  Democrats and the media can’t stomach the fact that Omar and Tlaib, as Trump has said, are both vehemently anti-Israel and anti-Jewish.  No one in the mainstream press has the journalistic integrity to call out Omar and Tlaib for their involvement with Ashwari’s bitterly anti-Semitic and anti-Israel Miftah Organization.  Calling for a cut-off of Israeli aid for banning Omar and Tlaib, some members of Congress don’t get Israel’s close national security relationship to the U.S.  Omar and Tlaib have a lot of explaining to do backing known anti-Semite Hanan Ashwari’s group, known for publishing vicious neo-Nazi propaganda against Israel.  Branding Trump an anti-Semite shows the extremes to which leftist groups go to cover-up their behavior.

15 Hysterical Reactions to Trump’s Jerusalem Announcement
It’s safe to say that people around the world are very excited by President Donald Trump’s decision to formally recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and begin the process of moving the American embassy there.
Here are some of the most excitable folks and their reactions to the announcement:
Ismail Haniyah, head of the Hamas government in Gaza: “Our position remains as it is, Palestine from the sea to the Jordan river. We will not agree to two states and not to the division of Jerusalem. I hereby call for terrorism and armed struggle … We want the uprising to last and continue to let Trump and the occupation regret this decision.”
Saab Erekat, Palestinian negotiator: “President Trump has delivered a message to the Palestinian people: The two-state solution is over. Now is the time to transform the struggle to one of one state with equal rights for everyone living in historic Palestine, from the river to the sea.” (Note: there is not much room for Israel in a map where “Palestine” stretches “from the river to the sea.” The phrase is generally interpreted as a call for genocide against the Jews.)
Mahmoud Abbas, president of the Palestinian Authority: “These measures are a reward to Israel’s violations of international resolutions and an encouragement for Israel to continue its policy of occupation, settlements, apartheid and ethnic cleansing.”
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of Iran: “Their announcement of Quds as the capital of Occupied Palestine proves their incompetence and failure. In regards to Palestine, they are helpless and unable to achieve their goals. Victory is for the Islamic nation. Palestine will be free, and the Palestinian people will be victorious. The modern-day pharaoh is represented by the U.S., the Zionist regime and their accomplices in the region, who seek to create wars in our region, and this is plotted by the U.S. … The Islamic world will undoubtedly stand against this plot and the Zionists will receive a big blow from this action and dear Palestine will be liberated.” (Note: “Quds” means Jerusalem; “Occupied Palestine” means Israel.)
Hassan Rouhani, President of Iran and certified “moderate” according to the Obama administration: “We call on Muslim peoples to enter into a big uprising against the plot of transferring the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem. The declaration of Jerusalem as the capital of the Zionist entity is a new conspiracy facing the Islamic world these days. We have to be aware and ready in the face of the U.S., the Zionist entity, and their tails.”
Hisham Abdallah, Egyptian TV host: “Mustering all his insolence and vanity Trump, the enemy of the Arabs and the Muslims, declared that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. By Allah, never! He declared it with the utmost scorn to 1.7 billion Muslims. But now, I shall direct a message to Muslims all over the world: The time has come for us to show them our rage. The time has come for you to rise, in all corners of the Earth, and rebel and rage for the sake of our Jerusalem. I do not fear for Jerusalem because I know that the resistance will set it on fire. I do not fear for Jerusalem because the Palestinian people is a proud people who will set it on fire. Hamas has already declared that the Oslo Accords are over. They have declared that they are launching the resistance. But I fear for the Two Holy Mosques because they are held by a Zionist collaborator called Mohammed bin Salman.”
(This is a reference to the cities of Mecca and Medina. Mohammed bin Salman is the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. For the record, the Saudi royal court said it was “disappointed” by Trump’s decision and warned it will “further complicate the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.”)
Ibrahim Karagul, editor-in-chief of Turkish Islamist newspaper Yeni Safak: “If Jerusalem is taken, the new front will be established around Mecca and Medina. The attacks will turn toward those two centers, tanks and missiles will be turned to that direction. This is what they were planning all along since the 1991 Gulf War. This is the war they were waging in all the plans they made under the name of ‘fighting terrorism.’ This is the plan they acted upon when invading Iraq in 2003 and when starting the Syrian war. The terror corridor plan in northern Syria was made for this purpose.” (Evidently, this “Mecca and Medina are next” talking point is becoming very popular.)
Al-Akhbar, a pro-Hezbollah newspaper in Lebanon: “Death to America! Today in Palestine there is a capable, empowered resistance that owns thousands of rockets that can strike Tel Aviv.”
Desmond Tutu, Nobel laureate: “God is weeping over President Donald Trump’s inflammatory and discriminatory recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.”
Hassan Nasrallah, leader of Hezbollah: “We support the call for a new Palestinian intifada and escalating the resistance which is the biggest, most important and gravest response to the American decision.”
Recep Tayyip Erdogan, president of Turkey: “The U.S. president has disregarded the 1980 UN decision. Until now, no country in the world other than the U.S. and Israel has taken a step that is contrary to the 1980 UN resolution. Only these two countries have gone against it. It is not possible to understand what Trump wants to achieve. Jerusalem was viewed as a place of worship for Muslims, Christians, and Jews. It was the first kiblah of Muslims. Masjid al-Aqsa was our first kiblah. To take such a step will throw the region into a ring of fire. Political leaders should make peace, not cause disorder. Trump’s declaration aims to stir up the region, not to bring peace.”
Al-Shabaab, Somalia’s al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group, urged “all Muslims to raise arms and defend the blessed al-Aqsa from the Zionist occupiers supported by America because what was taken by force can only be restored by force.”
Dawoud Shebab, spokesman for Palestinian Islamic Jihad: “We implore Arabs and Muslims to stop taking America as a friend and ally after it chose to stand entirely on Israel’s side. We demand that the Arab Peace Initiative be shelved and that Arab states stop normalizing relations with the Israeli occupation and close all Israeli diplomatic missions inside their countries.”
Hanan Ashwari, Palestine Liberation Organization executive committee member: “In one blow, President Trump has destroyed not only the chances of peace but the stability and security of the region as a whole. He has undermined his closest allies in the Arab world. He has also taken a position that is absolutely illegal and in violation of international law. He has disqualified the U.S., sadly, from playing any role in peacemaking.”
Unidentified Muslim in Amsterdam: His comment consisted of yelling “Allahu akbar,” but his actions spoke more loudly than his words:
