ok I totally forgot how teen romance-y the Demon King books were, I admit it. Must've been my teenage ace/aro brain just glossing over all that. The first time I read it in high school romance was about as real to me as wizards. All I really cared about was Han and his impossibly cool 16 year old street lord charm. I didn't wanna date him—I wanted to be him like I wanted to be every cool hero character. Raisa wasn't bad either for a snotty princess. All of these 16 year olds running around fretting about marriage prospects just hit different on the re-read. There's still a lot I like about the story but did it have to be so.... child-marriage-y? I guess it was a Twilight contemporary. All the romance novel trappings I didn't notice before made it seem like a totally different book than the one I read when I was younger. Didn't hate it but I'd rate it 'didn't age as well as I hoped.'

I’ve blocked out most of Han and Fiona’s conversations in Crimson Crown, but upon further investigation, I’ve finally found out that the reasion why Han ‘lost his temper’ and accidentally told Fiona that he was related to the Queens, which eventually led to him being accused of treason, was because Fiona told him that she wanted to kill Raisa... 

I love him and hate him at the same time.
