Trick or Treat! Maya's looking to make some new friends today! you might not have met her before, but that's okay! she's only been here a few months! let's have fun!

Leon heard a knock at the door of the treehouse. The Yokai had Halloween, with similar traditions like the dressing up and the spookiness and ghosts with ghouls and pumpkin carving. They even had trick-or-treat! And Mikey was reeeally excited about that; he'd been working all day on some special new recipe of homemade candies.

"Would you get the door?" Mikey called from the kitchen. "I'm working on the second batch!"

"Sure," Leon yelled back, as he took the tray of tiny square sugar candies.

He put his back to the wall and peeked through the side window. He could just see the top of what looked like a unicorn horn. It was a kid, not some goon or thug from the slums. Phew. Could never be too careful! Leon opened the door and was met with a very sparkly little girl dressed as a unicorn princess.

"Tricker Tree!" she squealed with delight, holding out her sack.

It took Leon a moment for his brain to reboot. For one thing, she was practically glowing with the amount of glitter she wore. For another, she was absolutely freaking adorable in her unicorn costume. Leon secretly LOVED unicorns. For a third, the red stripes on her face were eerily familiar...

Leon blinked and was back in the present. He smiled sheepishly and knelt down.

"Here ya go," he said, handing her the tray. "Take as many as you want!"

She squealed again and took about a handful of the multicoloured delights. Leon was tempted to just give her the whole tray, it wasn't like they'd get more visitors tonight. They lived out beyond the boondocks of the Hidden City... But whatever she didn't take, they would need.

"Happy Halloween!" she waved, as she ran off once she had her prizes.

"Happy Halloween!" Leon called out after her. "I like your costume!"

hey so apparently ask box trick-or-treating is a thing??? Maya decided she wanted to participate, and ofc bird Leo's house is first on her list!

Bird Leo leaned on the doorway in a sense of boredom as he watched the trick-or-treaters pass. His arms are folded over his plasteron as he lets out a sigh. It was his turn at watching the bowl for this year and it was kinda boring.

It was fun however, to show off his wings as if they were a new phenomenon. They typically get a lot of stares (because it's not often you come across a mutant turtle with giant avian wings). However the fun only lasted so long.

People come and go and it wasn't much more than that. Nothing new, nothing different, nothing interesting.

However, something caught his eye. Leo's eye drifted to one of the trick-or-treaters. A kid it seemed. She wore some princess get up but that wasn't much to see there. He was more interested in the fact they looked to be a mixture of a turtle and a bird, something like him (obviously the kid had an even blend of these features, while Leo did not). Peculiar.

The kid eventually gravitated towards his humble abode. He placed a hand on his hip, a keen smile crooked onto his face. Ain't that just the darnest thing?

Younger Siblings Tournament Bracket Reveal

A few things I want to mention before I reveal the bracket (and make the post really long because all the matchups will be listed in text):

Seeding of fictional characters in tumblr polls is inherently subjective. I did try to make it so that more popular characters/media would (most likely) face off against each other in later rounds, but I may be overestimating or underestimating the popularity of some characters/media, especially ones I'm not familiar with. There are some round 1 matchups that are probably a closer match but none of them are between the strongest candidates... I think.

The more niche characters will probably get obliterated in the first round as per Squimbus' Law. This is a tumblr poll and I do fully expect more popular characters to sweep, but that doesn't mean you can't encourage your friends to give your niche faves a fighting chance.

Also there are some matchups I literally just thought would be funny. Please don't take this too seriously.

Sibling Showdown!!!

This showdown consists of 64 sibling sets facing off against each other, as well as a few one-off polls of sets who didn’t make the actual bracket but who I wanted to include in some capacity.  Polls will last a week.  Round One of section A will go live on April 16, with section B going live the day after, section C the day after that, and section D the day after that.

Propaganda is allowed!  I just ask that it be kept positive.  Argue for your faves instead of against someone else’s.  Every sibling set who made it in the showdown is there because someone wanted them to be, so keep it kind.

Will the winners be the siblings that love each other the most?  That are most capable of killing other sibling groups with their bare hands?  That have the most sibling swag?  It’s up to you to decide!  You get to choose the manner and parameters you judge each sibling set for.

Saw your bird Leo, knew literally nothing about him, went straight to your blog solely to find the reference pics, and then spent over an hour and a half feverishly drawing him meeting my Leo fan kid, Hamato Maya. She's super excited to see a version of her dad that's also part bird like she is!!

thinking leosagi were childhood friends until whoever usagi's parent is dies (idk if we're making our own usagi or we're using yuichi. i'm keeping it open 😂 ) draxum offers to take usagi under his wing and make him into a prosecutor and usagi agrees out of guilt and grief. radio silence about usagi for a couple of years until draxum saw donnie's potential to be a prosecutor and invited him to join in too. donnie leaves the hamatos without telling them his plan to become a prosecutor to have eyes on what happens to their family because someone is clearly plotting to take them down. leo now thinks both his childhood friend and twin brother betrayed him so he's determined to become a defense attorney to see both of them again.

I love that for a lot of ROTTMNT artists who have created kids for the turtles, it’s either one of two scenarios.

1) One turtle has one kid (maybe a partner too) and the rest of the turtles are just the best uncles ever.

Or

2) One turtle has a whole little family and the other turtles don’t.

Meanwhile I’m over here like:

You will all find love and create cute little families with at least two kids for each turtle. The Hamato clan will grow!

And I’m not exaggerating about it. Allow me to elaborate:

Raph is the last to find love. He meets a frightened lioness yokai named Maya in the hidden city. She has a young child, a son, with her. His heart goes out to her and brings her to the lair. Long story short, the son bonds with Raph and Maya falls for Raph. Two years later, he takes in a painted turtle mutant as his own.

Leo is the first to find love and marries his girlfriend Janet after four years of dating. With a mix of science and mystic powers, they have four kids together.

Donnie and his girlfriend Whitney, due to being a same turtle species, manage to have five kids in the more natural way. Two sets of twins and a singleton; they also consider Shelldon as one of their kids as well. They get married shortly after their first set of twins turn one.

Mikey marries his girlfriend, a dog mutant, Juliet, of eight years shortly after their set of ‘twins’ are born. Fours years later, they take in a fennec fox mutant.

So in the end:

Raph has two kids and a girlfriend.

Leo has a wife and four kids.

Donnie has a wife and six kids.

Mikey has a wife and three kids.

I love family dynamics where aunts, uncles and cousins are super close. I myself came from a big family but was never close to my extended family on either side.

So if I can’t have it, my OCs from TMNT and my own series will have it. :D
