You, Asahi, and Jaehyuk and know as ‘The Trainee Trio’. Clever, right?

It all started off when you first came in 6 months ago and apparently you didn’t have anyone at the time.

Asahi and Jaehyuk were chatting it up when all the sudden you walk passed them.

They scanned you until they saw your shoes…

“It’s the red J’s!” they said simultaneously.

Asahi is the one that talked to you first. “Hey, newbie!”

You turned around to see two guys motioning you two come here.

Asahi: “You wanna be in our group? It’s the most elite one here.” he elongates.

Jaehyuk: “You can thank your fresh Jordans for letting you make the cut. We don’t usually let random people into our group.”

“Hold on, I got a few questions.” you say and the boys look at each other.

You: “One, Who are you guys? Two, what group? And Three, am I not a random person that just walked in here like two minutes ago?”

Asahi: “Okay, you might be random, but we sensed good vibes from you!”

Jaehyuk: “Yeah, and our group consists of me, I’m Jaehyuk, and Asahi.” he points.

“If it’s just the two of you, wouldn’t that just mean you’re a pair?” you asked.

Asahi: “I told you two is a pair!” he hits Jaehyuk on his arm.

“Well sorry, it’ll be a group if…” he pauses to look at you.

“Y/n?” you reply.

“…if y/n joins us!” Jaehyuk finishes.

Asahi: “Do you want to join us?”

You: “I mean I guess? I have nothing better to do.”

Asahi and Jaehyuk high five each other.

Jaehyuk: “I’ve been waiting for this! Now we can change our name…The Trainee Trio.”

You: “You’ve been waiting to change the name? what was the name before?”

Asahi: “The Dangerous Du-” Jaehyuk covers his mouth.

Jaehyuk: “We don’t speak of it.”

You laugh at the two.

Jaehyuk: “Ew! did you just lick me?” he grabs his now salivated hand.

Asahi: “You didn’t take your hand off me.”

You: “Yeahhh..Y’all are weird.”

they drop their head in slight embarrassment.

“Funny.” you added, “But weird.”

Jaehyuk: Asahi is the ‘odd one’ and i’m the ‘slow one.’ he finger quotes.

You: “Well I suppose you need a smart one in the group. Okay, I’m in.” you give in after a while.

Jaehyuk: “Yes! Does that mean I get to try on your J’s?” he smiles.

You: “No.”

he pouts making you laugh again.

And that’s how the trio came to be, and to solidify it, Jaehyuk bought some black Jordan’s and Asahi bought some blue ones.

Asahi and Jaehyuk share dorms but after you befriended them, you found yourself in there almost 90% of the time.

Karaoke was your thing to do with them and now you all do it every Friday night.

Asahi showed you his favorite places to shop while Jaehyuk showed you his favorite places to eat.

When it was time to practice, Jaehyuk and Asahi always help you. They were the fastest at learning choreography from the trio.

And every time you go all out fully, you collapse on the floor leading to your two friends dragging you around until you get up.

Whenever you are waiting for them, whether it’s in the practice room or your go-to hang out place, Jaehyuk is the one who sneaks up on you and scares you.

He doesn’t do it anymore since the last time he scared you, you smacked him so hard you busted his lip…it was an accident though!

Asahi on the other hand jumps on you, literally. If you didn’t see him in time, you two end up falling to the ground.

When you meet up with them it’s a simple greeting, but Jaehyuk made you learn a handshake in case you were an ‘impersonation’ of y/n.

When it came to movie night, you all take turns in selecting a movie or tv show and munched on pocky and popcorn. Asahi called it ‘The Poc & Pop.’

Jaehyuk would be the first one to doze off and you and Asahi always planned to prank him.

He would either wake up to water getting poured on his face or you two would giggle at him because he doesn’t know about the stupid and immature doodles on his face.

You never thought you would become this close to two people in just a few months. It mind boggles you.

If anything was too stressful for any of you guys, you would cry as they would attempt to cheer you up. Jaehyuk would be like “Asahi and I will help you all week for your monthly evaluation.”

But you would cry saying that the evaluation is literally tomorrow and you never know what will come out of YG’s mouth.

Asahi barely cries but he would sit in a corner with his head down and Jaehyuk would weep sometimes if he gets to him too much.

His weeps sound kinda ugly but that’s besides the point.

You three were inseparable and it’s all because they saw your red jordans when you walked be them.

[ . . . the moment he saw you, he was head over heels and wanted to get to know you more. when he found out that you were older than him by two years, it honestly didn't phase him that much. surprised, but not exactly taken aback. genuinely thought you were the same age as him but is overall not too worried about the age gap. one day though, you were talking about one of your guy friends who is the same age as you. the way you spoke highly of him, well it got hyunsuk a little insecure. it made him think that you like people who are the same age or older and once you noticed how quiet he got, he was quick to cover all his emotions up and made a simple joke out of the whole situation. "oh, so you like older people, huh?" "uh... not really, i actually like you, hyunsuk." "uh what? (；´д｀)ゞ" til this day, you make fun of him for that joke. let's just say that hyunsuk was hittin' the dougie straight up LMAO

[ . . . everyone knows that park jihoon likes you, and you like him so why was he feeling down when he saw you with your guy's mutual friend, who he knows is the same age as you? jihoon's usually pretty confident in himself and he honestly took that whole encounter as a sign to just confess already. why best around the bush? his confession was sincere and full of love but there's was just something... off, almost like vulnerable. it wasn't something you seen often from him but that made you accept his confession even quicker. you do take the time to sit him down and ask what's up. at first, he brushes it off but once you tell him that he could tell you anything... boy would not shut his mouth LOL it all worked out in the end because you shut him up with a big ol' kiss (ㅅ´ ˘ `)♡

✶ kanemoto yoshinori.

[ . . . at first, he wasn't phased about your small age gap but he soon because the color green whenever he saw you with that one coworker. he wanted to talk to you about it but then he felt like he didn't have the right because technically, you weren't together. yoshi swallowed his pride because the thought of losing you to someone else especially when you like him back was way bigger than his ego and pride. talked to you in the softest voice, so soft that you almost didn't hear him. once the words "i like you, y/n" tumbled past his lips, you had to do a double take, "come again?" you ask him and his cheeks turn red awwwww after confessing though, he felt more secure in your relationship. safe to say that he was the color pink now (•ө•)♡

✶ kim junkyu.

[ . . . genuinely thought you didn't like him back and made up this whole narrative about how you like those who are older than you rather than younger and that you'd never date someone like him. you'd honestly need to make the first move because he's certain that you only like him platonically. as you can tell, this man is wayyyy insecure. he dug himself this little pouch insecurities and got way to comfortable in it. "kyu, you know i like you right?" "yeah, of course y/n. we're friends :)" "no kyu, i like LIKE you!" man fr is clueless for a second, needs a second to take in what just happened. once he's good, he looks exactly like (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و ﾖｼ!

[ . . . pretty secure with himself tbh. i don't really see mashi getting insecure but if he does, he bottles it up and stashes it away deep in his brain. once you've gotten into a relationship with one another, he totally forgets the small insecurities he felt because his love for you definitely overpowers it! he usually brings it up once he's over the whole ordeal and makes a joke about it. "before we got together, i thought you fr liked older guys hehe" "hUH WHAT?" though he doesn't need or ask you to, you're showering this boy in love, praise, and all the above to shows that you love him for him! :3

✶ yoon jaehyuk.

[ . . . so smiley all the time, you don't even realize that he's practically melting inside because of how sad he is. an absolute kicked puppy if he sees you being buddy-buddy with someone your age. you started to notice that he gets less affectionate after he sees you with that person. it started off as less texts and calls, he stopped linking his arms with yours, he would find any excuse to not hang out. def got sick of it and called him out, "if this is your way of saying you don't like me anymore, that's okay but i'd rather you tell me to my face." you were beyond pissed and upset because of this whole situation and it was so silent that you could even hear hyuk's heart crack :< "y/n, i like you so much it hurts. i just thought you didn't like me because of our age difference ( ᵒ̴̶̷̥́ _ᵒ̴̶̷̣̥̀ )" you literally giggled because you never even worried about your age difference. made sure to make it crystal clear that you like him for him, not because of some age T^T

✶ hamada asahi.

[ . . . never voices how upset he is but it shows through his body language. he thinks very logically and he knows that you like him back but for some reason he gets too worked up about it and makes up all these scenarios in his head. even if he hangs out with you, "does y/n care about my age?" is always at the back of his head. tends to ignore it but one day he just got so worked up about it after one of your friends saw you at the same café you and asahi were hanging out at. once you friend walks away, he kida just word vomits everything he's been feeling when it comes to your age gap. definitely surprised and confused because you never saw anything wrong with it but you were also surprised at the fact that he felt comfortable enough to even bring it up, even if it was being babbled out. hearing you laugh at him was probably one of the most heartbreaking things he's ever encountered but once you tell him that you're absolutely wrapped around his finger... ayo why tf he gettin' up to do his robot dance rn? 🤨

[ . . . tries to have it not mess with him but he can't help it. you're absolutely perfect and the fact that you like him back is almost heaven. but like i said, you're perfect in his eyes which means that there's the possibility of others seeing you the exact same way. honestly, this deep seated insecurities is what drives him to just suck it up and confess. you both know that you like one another but this is different. he's actually verbally saying it, and not just to anyone, not his hyungs or friends, but to you. once he finally gets you alone to talk about it, you weren't surprised in the least but you were curious as to what made him want to do it between 5th to 6th passing period LOL he brushes it off and says he'll tell you after school and when that time rolls around, you can't help but giggle at how absolutely adorable you find him. [ . . . fake laughs his way through his insecurities. y'know how he has a fake laugh and then his real laugh is super high and squeaky? yeah... you've noticed it and his actual laugh is something you wanna hear all the time. might as well have it as your ring-tone, your alarm, notification tone... shiii you name it! but then, you notice that his laugh starts turning into one that's reserved for pity-laughs, and awkward situation. one time you made a cornball of a joke and all he did was let out two pity chuckles and called it a day. you definitely frowned after that :< senses your mood changed after you started getting more quiet and less responsive so he asks what's up. "i just feel like you're mad at me or something? i don't know, it's okay if you are but i just wanna know why" you can see his face soften up as he explains why he was distant so you punch him once for this whole situation, then twice for not laughing at your absolutely hilarious jokes, and as he waits for his third one, he's met with a soft peck to his cheek instead AHHHH

[ . . . like mashi, i feel like he doesn't care. ruto is so nonchalant and chill about everything, it's almost impossible to get a rise out of him with this kind of thing. you like him and he likes you, right? tell me why he starts to get a little pang of something in his chest while seeing you interact with someone your age though? he's not sure but he writes it off as, gosh knows that LOL brings it up out of the blue while you two hang out, on your phones. "do you like to date older people?" "uhm... no???" "okay good, because i like you a lot... like i wanna date you" you literally faint on the spot LMAO but your quick to say yes to his date and when he finally looks up from his phone, he feels the same pang in his heart but instead of it being painful, it's one of absolute adoration for you T^T

✶ park jeongwoo.

[ . . . tries to make a joke out of it but you quickly catch on. ignores your pleas to tell you what's wrong and when you just quit and distance yourself so he can have space to think, he takes a second to realize that you're not there. gets upset with himself because he should've just communicated with you but he's so down bad and you're so beautiful that he can't even look you in your eyes BRUH finally shows up at your front door and is like asahi, word vomits all his emotions which leaves you like "what? ( ･ᴗ･̥̥̥ )" LMFAOOOOO straight up just blinking at him before giving him a big ol' hug. now woo's the one who's blanking out and just blinking. "i like you too, idiot" AJSOKWD

✶ so junghwan.

[ . . . isn't sure why tries so hard around you, like he knows you like one another but why is he acting 10x weirder and bolder when there's someone your age around you? you, of course, figure it out quickly when you asked his hyungs if he was okay bc wtf is going awn...??? fs put two and two together and instead of walking on eggshells with him, you make the decision to just hash it out. has a hard time explaining why he feels this way but when you tell him that it's normal and valid, he feels super relieved. "i can't believe you started break dancing because you were jealous" "sHUT UP!!!! >:("

hyunsuk realizes it when you fall asleep on him one night. it isn’t the first time, and it certainly won’t be the last, but you’ve always supported him unconditionally and make time for him when it works with him. part of him feels like it might be a little unfair that you have to work by his schedule most of the time, but he always gets the reassurance that one day it’ll be easier and that keeps him going. sometimes you sleep over when he doesn’t have to worry about a schedule too early the next morning (he and his friends have become experts at sneaking you out, though) just to spend some extra time with him. he’ll be working on his own assignments while you sit on his bed and work on your own. there’s no pressure to make conversation when he needs to focus, and your presence alone is calming.

sometimes the two of you check in with each other, sometimes taking a few minutes for a break, but nothing to stop you completely from working. there always comes a point where he’ll bring his laptop over to his bed, sitting beside you to finish off his work so that you can snuggle closer to his side. he just... looks up and realizes how much he loves you when he finds that you’ve dozed off against his shoulder again. he’ll always gently nudge you away when you do, setting aside his things when his work is done, and telling you that you can go back to sleep after the two of you lie down. he’ll always lean forward to give you a little forehead kiss and apologize for working too much, even if it’s always met with you just being glad you’re there with him.

jihoon is busy--that much both of you are fully aware of. which means, despite the fact he’d like time for you, he rarely gets it (and it frustrates him, to be honest: it feels so unfair to you that he can’t openly spend time with you unless he’s on a break). but sometimes you’ll be let into the dorm without him knowing, and sometimes you’ll just... pretty much hang out in his room while he’s focused on his work. he’s used to people sometimes coming in to check on him when he’s really busy, so he honestly just doesn’t notice while he’s trying to keep up on his coursework. but the third time you came back into his room with a snack and his refilled water bottle (when did you even grab that?), he realizes it and apologizes immediately for not greeting you properly.

but you just give him a kiss on the cheek and ask him how his day has been, how his classes are going, an so forth. it just makes him realize how much you care about him--which isn’t to say he isn’t cared for by anyone else or that he thought you didn’t care about him. it’s different with someone he doesn’t live with and someone who makes room in their own schedule to be with him. yet you check on him every day, either with the rare in person visit or your typical texts, just to make sure he’s taking care of himself. he just loves you. and that feels right to say that he does. he’ll have to bring his studies over to your place one day so he can dote on you for once. its your turn to be cared for.

kanemoto yoshinori

despite being a ball of sunshine and kindness, yoshi sometimes gets into bad moods. everyone’s capable of it, but his friends usually picked up on it whenever he was stressed. maybe from classes, maybe he just woke up and felt off, but it was clear he needed either a person to confide in or a little bit of space until he was ready for that.

unless he got texts from you. maybe it’d be a selfie, or a picture of flowers you saw on a walk, or a dog you saw, and it was like his entire day changed. he liked sending you pictures in turn, too, of things he’d want to show you later. it takes a few times of it happening for the others to pick up on just how fast his mood changed, and hyunsuk jokingly calls him whipped before saying that he really does change--only for the rest of the group to agree. yoshi’s always been sweet, but on a bad day there’s nothing that picks him up faster than you. he really loves you, doesn’t he? and that’s how he realizes it. he loves you because you’re dating, sure, but that’s always been different from capital-L Love in his mind. but he does capital-L Love you, and that’s what makes him realize it.

kim junkyu

junkyu realizes it when you come to visit him one day. he’s waiting at the bus stop for you, watching for your bus to come in when he sees you. you have headphones on, and you look a little bored. he waves excitedly, hoping to get your attention, and yet you don’t. for a minute, he’s hurt by it: you were too focused on putting away your headphones and getting things in order, sure, but he thought you might have been watching for him.

then you step off that bus and you smile so wide at him that every bit of hurt disappears. he swears his heart swells at just how happy you are to see him, and he realizes it right then and there that he’s in love with you and always wants to see that smile. you run to greet him, and he hugs you so tight and peppers kisses onto your face--judging people be damned. he doesn’t get to see you every day, so he might as well take full advantage of having you right there in front of him. he’ll keep kissing you when you’re back at his place, but he tells you he loves you and holds your hand so tightly.

takata mashiho

mashiho realized he loved you when he realized just how much you cared for him. it was clear in the way that you’d make sure he was eating well, that he was staying hydrated and healthy and taking care of himself when things were getting rockier in his life. but one day he had asked you for a bit of space, just for a few hours, and you immediately told him that you’d be right there if he needed you--all he had to do was text you and you’d be there. he didn’t have to put up a front, to act as though he was okay. he could just be himself with you.

in the end he ended up texting you if he could come over later, and he ended up cuddled into your arms. his rough day seemed so distant when you held him, just letting him be quiet for a bit and enjoy your company. that was the moment he realized it: he didn’t have to just be happy, sweet mashiho who was funny and loving and caring toward the people in his life. he was just your mashiho, flaws and all.

yoon jaehyuk

you put the color back into his day. despite being known among his friends as one of the happiest, sweetest people they knew, jaehyuk had his off days. sometimes it was tiring to wake up and immediately have to be sunshine-y, and he’d feel those days from the moment his alarm went off. he’d drag himself out of bed and start getting ready for his day, and soon enough he’d hear his phone chime with a message from you reminding him to take care of himself.

all it took was seeing your face or whatever picture you sent him from your morning walk to class for things to start feeling right again. even if he’d feel off for a while after, your mere existence brightened his world up when he felt like it was starting to gray. he’d always text you back with a promise to eat a filling breakfast and a wish for you to take care of yourself in turn, and he’d always smile to himself when you sent back a plethora of hearts in response.

hamada asahi

asahi realized he loved you when he realized just how right things were. sometimes that came in the form of idly drawing things that reminded him of you whenever you pushed your way into his thoughts. other times, he’d be out and he’d see something small that he knew you’d love, and he’d either take a picture or buy it for you just to see the way your eyes lit up when he gave it to you.

it didn’t fully click until one day when you took a nap with him. he woke up before you did, and he looked at you with sleep-ridden eyes and it just... hit him how natural all of it seemed to feel. it felt like you had always been right there by his side, even though he hadn’t known you all his life. like things were right when you were around, because you knew him well and loved him for all that he was. it was sweet, and he smiled to himself before taking a picture of your sleeping face just to immortalize the moment.

he didn’t have the words for you anymore.

yedam could be a romantic, and he knew that for a fact. sometimes he wrote love songs for you, endless words at his fingertips to build lyric and melody that painted a picture of how much he loved you. he wrote songs for you before he dated you, too, to cope with the crushing stage until he discovered the feeling was mutual. everywhere he went, there was always you on the back of his mind and an itching urge to dedicate one more song to you (there always always the urge for one more song to say how he felt).

and then one day, the words stopped coming. at first, it was distressing until he realized there were no words to describe what you meant to him. he could try to pen them down, but nothing felt right. like nothing would be enough to illustrate how he felt about you. he could craft metaphor after metaphor in a song for you, but they couldn’t touch the reality of his feelings.

and after a while, he was okay with that. you were beyond words, and he loved that about you--on top of everything else.

a/n: i am off to college in a few weeks and i honestly cant comprehend it to the point where i don’t want to think about anything so i ended up pushing a lot of work aside BUT i am hopefully back. As a sorry gift, this is a very fluffy fic i thought about while watching treasure map (i miss them so much SOBS) so enjoy this fic and hopefully, i could get back to giving yall fics every week!! 

“Hurry up jihoon, or else you’ll be late for your date!” hyunsuk yelled outside his room while jihoon was still struggling to figure out what to wear for your 1st date. You and Jihoon have known each other for quite some time, but never really got the chance to know each other because of the hectic schedules you both have to deal with as college students.

“Ah hyung, I still have like 20 minutes left. Should I wear a blue jacket over my white shirt? Or should I…” jihoon said as he should hyunsuk his outfit ideas not realizing the way his hyung immediately took his phone from the side table.

“Yah, didn’t you say your date is at 11:00am? It’s 11:30, and you’re still here deciding your outfit?? What would y/n think?” 

Jihoon gaped at him, still processing the words his hyung said. As he rechecked the time to see if hyunsuk was lying, oh god he hoped he was lying, he saw a message you left about 10 minutes ago.

“Are we still on for the lunch date you asked?” 11:20am

“Hello??” 11:22am

Jihoon immediately called you, while putting the phone on speaker and asking hyunsuk to leave his room where the latter grumbled about his poor time judgment.

After the 3rd ring, you answered: “hello? Where are you park jihoon?”

“I am so so sorry, I wasn’t checking the time since I was busy preparing and I just didn’t check the time, and I’ve been trying to get the other members to hurry up in the shower and I just forgot to check the time–” he stopped as he heard you laughing in the other end of the phone.

“Hey hey, it’s fine. Just try to come as fast as you can because we might not be able to get a seat at the restaurant you suggested.” you explained while still giggling at how panicked he was.

“Okay okay, I’ll see you in a few. I’m sorry again.” jihoon said in a frantic state. Not even bothering to hear you reply, he ended the call and immediately put on whatever clothes he saw.

You, on the other hand, just smiled while waiting for him to join you for lunch. You were actually infatuated with the mischievous, yet sweet boy in one of your classes in college. You were always fond of the way he brings himself with confidence and friendliness whenever you see him interacting with practically anyone. But despite the teasings, you hear him receive from his friends before he approaches you, he would always make sure that you were comfortable in whatever way possible. He was a soft person when interacting with you as if seemingly wanting to actually get to know you and not just beating around the bush with confusing actions towards you. It’s probably what lead you to say yes when he asked you for a lunch date. Though Jihoon didn’t explicitly mention that he likes you when he asked you for a date, you were at least hoping to enjoy each other’s company for today. (you have a glimmer of hope, though, that he did like you back.)

Waiting for a few more minutes, you finally spot jihoon jogging up to you. He was wearing a very casual outfit that showed his well-built physique. You hate to admit it but he definitely looked dashing in his outfit, and you couldn’t help but blush at the thought that you were going to spend your day with him. Too preoccupied with seeing jihoon, you didn’t realize how close he was when he immediately engulfed you with a hug which you reciprocated almost eagerly. On his hand were beautiful flowers with a mix of red and pink colors. 

“These are for you, I’m no flower expert but I picked them with the thought of you.” He said looking at you with a soft smile that graced his features. You were a bit taken aback by the thoughtfulness of being given flowers, and you couldn’t help but be awestruck by him. 

Before you could say anything, he continued: “I am so sorry for making you wait for so long. I’ve been trying to get ready in an hour and a half because I know you’re going to look so good and I need to try and match up, but apparently, it took me more than an hour and a half and a lot of scolding from my friends about poor time management.” He said rather sheepishly, smiling awkwardly to mask his embarrassment for making you wait for a long time.

You happily took the flowers and admired the arrangement that made it aesthetically pleasing to look at. You never really got flowers from anyone, apart from flowers from friends and family so receiving flowers with the thought of you was something new. It warmed your heart to know that jihoon, despite being late and all, still thought about giving you flowers.

“Thank you for the flowers jihoon, it means a lot to me,” you said in a bit of a hushed tone, still wrapping your head around the matter that you were going on a date with jihoon.

“No need to thank me, seeing you lit up when you receive the flowers is more than enough for me.” Jihoon said, still smiling down at you with a faint blush on his cheeks. He, then, took your bag out of your arms and immediately held your hand, and pulled you towards the restaurant.

 But as you both were nearing the restaurant, you saw that there was a long waiting time and waiters bustling in and out of the restaurant to cater to their customers. Jihoon visibly slumped down and looked at you with a frown: “Sorry for not getting you to one of the best restaurants in town. If it’s not a problem with you, we could take another restaurant that you like and you could brag to me about how your choice is way better than mine.” 

“Then prepare to admit that I have better choices in restaurants” You taunted him in a teasing manner, and he couldn’t help but laugh at how cute you were challenging him.

“Well, there’s so much to do in this mall and I’m happy that I get to spend it with you.” he said while he allows you to drag him to the restaurant you had in mind.

You were visibly flustered by his remark. You tried to hide your smile (and your blush) with your hands but he took them off you. He pinched your cheeks to admire how cute you were and took your hand again while telling you to show him the restaurant.

You both enjoyed your time with each other. Laughing here and there in the arcade because of both of your competitiveness, strolling through the mall with ice cream on your hands and sharing it with each other, and a bunch of storytelling from both of your lives. It’s safe to say that you both are going on another date next week, and you were more than happy to get to know the boy who was always with you in the library for college.

“haruto, its 5 in the morning?” you grogily say, as you rub your eyes due to your vision being a little blurry. haruto woke up a couple of minutes ago, not able to go back to sleep because of his unbearable excitement.

“yeah, and?” he speaks, his morning voice catching you off guard just a little bit. last night haruto's parents were kind enough to let you and haruto have a sleep over but of course you had to sleep in another room. “its the weekend?! shouldn't we be getting more sleep?” you protest—turning your back towards him trying your best to fall back to sleep and ignore the grumpy boy next to you.

“come on y/n, you promised.” haruto shakes you lightly as you groan—a sign of disagreement. which haruto stubbornly ignores and instead proceeds to brainstorm ideas on how to convince you to get out of bed.

it shouldn't be this hard for him, but he was having a bit of a trouble. meanwhile, you furrow your eyebrows—questioning haruto's sudden silence. in all honesty you kind of liked the attention he was giving you earlier, but of course you wouldn't admit that.

thinking that he might be giving you the silent treatment to make you feel a little guilty, you turn your head back slightly to take a peek of what haruto was doing. and to no avail, he was doing his usual stuff which was: spacing out.

“huh, 'wonder what his thinking 'bout.” you ponder as you sit up letting out a sigh which returns the spaced-out boy back to reality. “you know I can't resist you so, lets go and paint your nails.” haruto didn't know what made you change your mind all of a sudden, but he was thankful it did. and he was also very excited.

“now just don-” “thank you" he says cutting the distance between the both of you short so he can hug you tight. he's been so—intriguingly enthusiastic this whole week and it made you really soft inside.

hours later, you're now sitting on the couch at the living room painting haruto's nails—while exchanging conversations about random topics here and there with different songs played in the background from your shared playlist and overall just enjoying your relaxing time together.

so jaehyuk. yoon jaehyuk. he had been the guy that i had been crushing on forever. he was everything to me. he had given me attention many times, we had a thing on and off, and it always went the same. 

1. he would always text first

2. he would give me attention and act like he would actually date me

3. he would drop me the minute another girl gave him attention

so yeah, it made me question what the hell i was doing still liking him but he was one of those guys that i couldn’t help but like. he was just a guy that made me feel things when i didn’t know how or why. everyone asked me why the hell i still liked him. i didn’t even know why the hell i still liked him. he was an asshole. but it was always going to be him.

so you’re asking me why i started this story. we were having our usual little flirty back and forth talks, and he had left me on open in the middle of a conversation. i texted him asking him what the hell happened and he said something i didn’t want to hear honestly. 

“so why’d you leave me on open?” i bit my lip as i typed it into my phone because i was nervous already from the conversation my best friend had told me about. two hours earlier, she had texted me telling me that she had overheard a girl that was going to shoot her shot with jaehyuk. 

“shit sorry, i’m talking to another girl. you might know her.” when i read the text that popped up on my phone, my mouth dropped open. the two of us were doing this for the whole month that we were talking. making each other jealous all the time with other people but nothing. this was the only time something happened.

i didn’t even care so i just left him on open. i didn’t even care at this point. this man was hurting me so much to the point that it didn’t even bother me anymore. who knew this was going to be the end of my life long crush. 

i left it alone and it’s been two months since we last talked. i didn’t want to talk to him and i was finally getting over him until for some reason, the entire world seemed to want to talk about him and the girl that was now obsessed with jaehyuk. 

“i have some important information i got from an inside source. someone told me that someone is in love with eun-byeol even though byeol has a crush on jaehyuk.” my mouth dropped open when i heard this inside information. i laughed shaking my head not believing what i was hearing. this girl had two guys on her? come on. 

“who is this someone?” i was intrigued. if this guy was in love with byeol, there’s no way that she didn’t like him even a little bit. 

“choi hyunsuk.” jihoon smirked while i sat there scoffing when i got a reply because hyunsuk had been my best friend in grade 4 to 12 but we distanced apart after a while. the reason we distanced was because he got a girlfriend and from then on, we just stopped talking. 

“hyunsuk? that’s your inside source? he’s your best friend dipshit.” i shook my head laughing in disbelief that hyunsuk was the one that fell in love with this byeol girl i knew nothing about. 

“apparently, they were really good friends and he fell in so deep with her and now he’s so in love with her that there’s nothing he can do.” jeongwoo said from behind me then laughed jumping over the couch to put his arm around my shoulder. i leaned into his shoulder putting my head on his shoulder before i laughed. just as we were going to start talking shit about byeol, jaehyuk and hyunsuk walked in with a girl. 

“i’m guessing that’s byeol.” i said under my breath and got hit on the back of my head from haruto who then told me to be nice when the three of them came over to talk to us. jeongwoo cooed at me since i was now groaning in pain. 

“this is eun-byeol.” hyunsuk smirked winking in our direction while we all laughed rolling my eyes before making very awkward eye contact with jaehyuk. we held this eye contact and jeongwoo tapped my hip where his other hand was placed. i looked up at jeongwoo breaking eye contact with jaehyuk. 

“act like you stopped talking to him for a reason.” he leaned down to whisper into my ear. i nodded pulling out my phone not caring that the three of them walked into the room. 

“what’s this cold shoulder y/n, you’re not gonna greet your best friend?” hyunsuk shot a glare at me and i rolled my eyes standing up to give him a lazy hug and he scoffed. 

“that was some bullshit hug princess.” he shook his head and i threw my arms around his shoulders while he put his arms around my waist swinging me around in circles. 

“happy?” i stuck my tongue out at him before turning to see that jaehyuk was glaring at the two of us. i tilted my head in confusion at why he was giving me this look. hyunsuk’s arms were still around my waist pulling me for another hug but turning me around to back hug me before resting his head on my shoulder. 

“i’m trying to get byeol to react. is it working?” hyunsuk whispered into my ear and i turned to glance at her and surprisingly, it was. she was scoffing at me and glared at me when she thought i wasn’t watching her. 

“hyunsuk can i talk to you for a second?” she walked in front of me grabbing hyunsuk’s arm and i laughed in disbelief and walked away from hyunsuk over to jeongwoo and jihoon who left no space for me so i just got ready to sit on jeongwoo’s lap but a grip on my wrist and i was heading back out the door where they first came out of. 

“what is your problem?” 

“my problem? what’s yours?” i laughed shaking my head crossing my arms in front of me then looking away very uninterested in this conversation. i honestly could not care less about what happens in this moment because i was over jaehyuk for good. right? 

“two months of ghosting me and this is how you’re gonna repay me?” i honestly have never seen him like this. he was always happy jaehyuk but this time? he wasn’t even close to happy jaehyuk. 

“repay you? you’re the one that dropped me for eun-byeol.” i laughed rolling my eyes pursing my lips trying to hold back how mad i was. i mean after all, i’ve been holding this anger for two months and now that i get to finally tell jaehyuk how i feel, i don’t know how i’m going to hold all this anger.

“dropped you? y/n when have i ever dropped you for a-” 

“i’m going to stop you right there. do not. do not even give me that shitty excuse.”
