Name: Halloween Decor Pikmin
Debut: Pikmin Bloom
Halloween may be over, not to come for another year... but you know what rhymes with year? FEAR! Heh heh... mischief lingers on the air!
Pikmin Bloom focuses on walking and collecting Pikmin wearing all sorts of fun and silly and cute costumes (except for the freeloaders with stickers on their heads), so of course this includes Halloween costumes! What better way to pressure you into spending money than with limited-time events? Don't worry, though, you can tell I'm not a shill because I'm posting this the day all of these STOP being available. If you want to collect them, then wait 11 months, I guess? Sorry! But these Halloween costumes include some of my favorites, so I would like to share them all with you here!
JACK-O'-LANTERN PIKMIN
The very first Halloween Pikmin to be added to the game, and suitably iconic! There is a delightful amount of variety here! No two have the same carved face or QUITE the same color of pumpkin. The most conventional face- the one worn by Rock Pikmin- isn't even the expected orange, but a green pumpkin!
My personal favorite, though, is Purple, whose eyes fit so well into the carved holes, and who has a spooky stitch- or skull-like mouth! Immediately, this one in particular stands out, thanks not only to that, but also to the stark white of its pumpkin!
Are you thinking pumpkins are much too large to be worn by Pikmin? Because if you are, you're correct. Don't Worry About It
HALLOWEEN TREAT PIKMIN
Now THIS one may be my favorite decor set in the entire game! The pumpkins were very nice, but wowza! Treats are the reason for the season, and here treats are! All decorated with that delightful Halloween aesthetic of orange and purple with, of course, plenty of cute monster iconography! Bats, pumpkins, spiderwebs, but most of all, oh ho ho. That happy little ghost with the purple hat? Is it possible for something to be TOO delightful? It isn't, but if it was, that ghost would come close!
Once again, Purple is my favorite costume of the bunch, thanks to its showcasing of the ghost, but I also love the purple icing rim, and the spiderweb pattern! Rock is actually a more appealing-looking cupcake to me, though, with bright orange icing and multicolored sprinkles, spooky dripping chocolate, and a very nice purple gradient wrapper. They remind me of the cupcakes my orthodontist used to give out around Halloween, and I love expanding Halloween treats beyond just candy! Both cupcakes are delightful. Even if muffins are better! Autumn Tip: eat a pumpkin muffin. It will make you Smile!
Aside from the cupcakes I do love Red here. A little bag of decorated cookies! For Pikmin, it's safe to be concealed in a plastic bag, as long as your leaf is sticking out so you can breathe. HUMANS THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU! If you plan on going in a bag, please make it a Burlap Sack! *hops in a sack down to the next paragraph*
HALLOWEEN LIGHT PIKMIN
Finally, the most recent Halloween Pikmin! I really hope new ones are a yearly tradition, and there's not yet any reason to think they won't be! These ones are all wearing lights, which is #SafetySmart of them. Maybe not Red, who has an actual exposed flame, but that's ok! Red Pikmin are heat-resistant, and the elemental traits are indeed carried over to Bloom in smaller ways. However, Red should be careful around the others who are all liable to being Burnt To A Crisp!
I may be predictable, but that's ok. Yellow is the Big Winner for me this year thanks to its Goofy Cute Ghost light, which, going by its animations, is actually alive somehow! Maybe it's the Yellow Pikmin's electrical ability moving it around... but I don't think that would make a seemingly inanimate object blink its eyes.
My second favorite here is Blue, who looks kind of terrified in there, but is having fun! I love the spider decoration, especially since it has four eyes, but that fake spider had better be careful. There's fake fire nearby!
And so we have reached the end of our one last little Halloween treat! Which Halloween Pikmin is your favorite? What did YOU dress as, if you had a costume? See you later :]

Sorry if this is a strange question but could you please talk about your Chara headcanons I love them and learning of other people's interpretations
oh this isn't strange at all!! Id love to I just need to remember everything ive ever thought....
here we go: (got kinda long oops)
they like to make poetry but generally keep it private
they also are trying to learn embroidery but they dont have the steadiest hands so its a bit difficult!
while they obviously have a fondness for specifically goats because yknow, they LOOOOOVE frogs and toads!
they let frisk paint their nails even if they aren't that into it
love earthy tones when it comes to clothing
always ready to roughhouse!!!!
this was inspired by a mutual but its also me projecting a bit, they do online school
start taller then frisk as kids/tweens but then becomes the shorter one (rip)
likes to chew on the chain of their locket
likes stuffed animals but doesn't have any themself because they try to keep their belongings practical and stuff
likes instrumental music
likes calm or nature-y games like animal crossing, harvest moon, pikmin, etc.
speaks pretty quietly/low a lot of the time unless they are feeling jazzed up or rowdy abt smth, then they have trouble controlling their volume
loves decorative knives! their main knife though has cute little charms on it that they like :-) they like to whittle sticks for no reason and eventually tries to get into wood carving as a result
I think this is canon but likes to knit! they join Toriel a lot to do so
has trouble sleeping so they hang out with Toriel a lot at night
likes bug hunting (Toriels influence)
likes to walk in the woods and sends frisk and co. random pictures of mushrooms and things they see
kinda fucked up about the fact that they have no greater purpose, badly wanted to be the angel to save monsters and finally be good/worth something
all about consequences. in a more canon adjacent au where they are alive with flowey instead of asriel, they fairly quickly learn to accept their brother is different now and that this is the consequence of their plan, but know he is still their brother and loves him. greatly regrets that they took so much from him and will do anything to make it up to him, though Flowey more wants to pick up right where they left off and pretend nothin is different
likes bracelets, and tries to typically wear the friendship bracelets Frisk makes
very interested in Alphys’ work! “woah u can make ROBOTS??? just like that????”
habitually smiles when stressed or freaked out, they dont mean anything bad by it tho
(also me projecting) VERY PICKY EATER but loves Toriels baked goods!
favorite season is fall/autumn
likes dogs but prefers cats to some degree because they aren't so high energy
(more projection) very low energy person but tries to keep up with all these high energy friends like undyne and papyrus!
LOVES HALLOWEEN
they are the living embodiment of knife cat image
thats it for now I think ^o^

Number 27: Animal Crossing
My memories of the Gamecube are a haze, obscured by the cool weirdness of that goofy box with the handle on it that felt sturdy enough to fight off an attacker with. My game memories are few: Eternal Darkness, Chibi Robo, Pikmin, and Animal Crossing.* Mostly the latter.
Animal Crossing came around during a transitional period in my life. I’d split with my fiancee, moved back in with my parents for a few months, and was now living with a married friend. The game offered a charming, much-needed escape from reality. It provided it in a way that was unlike other games I’d played.
It's a game about moving to a small town where you don’t know anyone, starting from nothing, and trying to make yourself at home. You get a home loan and a place to live, then spend your time talking to the villagers, foraging for things to sell, and catching bugs and fish to stock the local museum. It’s the first (only?) game I’ve played that is based on real world time, using your system clock. This is kind of a double-edged sword. On one hand, the seasons and time of day change with the real world. Each type of bug and fish would only be available during certain times of day and year. That made the changing of seasons feel like an event.
The downside is that if you could only play during a specific window each day, it was much harder or impossible to find certain things. There are special holiday events too, and I definitely made it a point to spend some time in Animal Crossing on Christmas and Halloween to get special event decorations and clothes. Also, if you start playing in springtime, you’re not going to experience winter for another 6 months at minimum.
A real-time game clock also means that I couldn’t binge the game for hours at a time. Generally I’d fire up the game, search for the 5 daily dig spots in town, see what was for sale in Tom Nook’s shop, talk to some villagers, and do some fishing. And maybe harvest the fruit trees and sell the fruit. After all that’s been done, there’s not a lot else to do. This is probably a good thing, as I tend to marathon games that have me hooked.
You could have up to 4 villagers living in the same town on the same save file, which was both wonderful and terrible. Wonderful because seeing the changes that someone else is making to your town can be downright hilarious. You can change the town song (a jingle that plays every hour) and you can post things on town bulletin board. More importantly, the villagers always have a catchphrase, and they will sometimes ask the player to think of a new one. I’d go talk to Belle the cow, and be greeted with “Good evening, fuck face!” which is pretty uplifting.
The downside to this is that once anyone has found and used the 5 dig sites each day, or harvested the fruit trees, or extracted the money from the money rock, it’s gone for everyone who lives in that village. I remember a stretch where it was a competition between my roommate and I to see who could get up and get onto the Gamecube first thing in the morning.
A big part of the game’s charm is in its music; There is a different track for every hour of the day, and it typically will be quiet and peaceful in the small hours, jaunty and energetic as the morning turns to afternoon, winding back down in the evening. I’ve listened to the soundtrack, and some of the music is like taking a bath in a big vat of nostalgia juice, and other tracks don’t register at all; the music that sticks with you depends on the time of day you’d play the game. Which is neat for reasons I can’t quite put into words.
Animal Crossing was special because it felt like a peaceful, comforting little isolated world that wanted nothing from me. There’s no fail state. You can do tasks for the villagers, stock the museum, decorate your home, and continually renovate your home and take out progressively larger loans. You could do any, all, or none of those things. Wandering around the town and surrounding area at night catching bugs or fishing was a very zen experience, one that hasn’t really been replicated in another series for me.
*Apologies to Wind Waker, I missed it.
