Look who else got married this year. 👀

Their engagement was a rather spontaneous one, back in June this year, while both were on vacation in Rome (a birthday gift from Lance to Hallie). They hadn't been dating for too long at that point, not even half a year but well... when it feels right, it's right and it's not like they hadn't known each other for much longer than that.

Their story isn't so much about getting together; it will be about staying together. There is trouble in paradise ahead which is kinda tied to the upcoming 2026 class reunion that I've been writing and daydreaming about for a while now, as well as another arc that I'm currently still keeping under the wraps because it's a fairly dark one. For now, though, they can have their bliss! Their love is real after all. I believe in them and I adore them SO much, they are my everything. 🥹

Lance gave Hallie a trip to Rome for her 36th birthday (on April 2nd) - one of her dream destinations, she was over the moon! 💘 (I really just wanted to see them together again🥺 ... and draw Hallie in a pretty dress. 😂)

SO, the two are going to head off this upcoming June, and they will eat tons of pizza and gelato, look at ancient places and buildings, take many snapshots and selfies, enjoy strolls at sunset on Piazza Navona, pet stray cats in beautiful small alleys, go and see an opera and eat at a fancy restaurant, and they will totally take in the romantic atmosphere... and eventually come home with a surprise.

Hallie said grimly and had to remind herself to not accidentally spill the truth about how badly the not-so-bad-Fozzy had treated Lucy last Winter. "He's loud and annoying, that's all. He likes you fine." "Great, I always wanted to be with a spineless, reckless twat void of any deeper emotion than... than this." Hallie made a disgruntled face and waggled Lance's phone in her hand before handing it back to him. "Alright, look, I'm not here to convince you of Fozzy's qualities." Lance said in an obvious attempt to smooth the waters. He put back his phone. "He's an idiot, everyone knows it. I don't know what he did to you, and I don't need to, you can dislike him all you want but... he's a mate." "I know." Hallie sighed. "Can't forbid you to hang out with him, wouldn't want to, either. I just... I dunno, just promise me you won't trust him with anything important and we're good." "Believe me, I know as much." Lance scoffed, before shooting her a friendly little glance. "Besides, that's what I got you for, anyway." (...)

This is just a little excerpt from the piece of writing that goes along with this quick fake screenshot I drew yesterday! We had such nice weather all week, I couldn't help but get in a Summer mood. And since the love for these two is always strong... well. I picked the day of all days - Hallie and Lance too Ali, Nessa and Sausage (the family dog xD) out to town, and later the beach. While Ali and Nessa were playing fetch with Sausage a few yards away, Hallie tried to tell Lance about her feelings for him. Unfortunately they got interrupted before she could do that.

Nevermind. She got the chance later that day, once the two had brought Ali and Nessa to their respective homes and returned to the beach. She finally did, and he responded well. :)

Galahad is an indoor cat but he's leash trained and Lancie nowadays occasionally asks his fiancee (🥹🥰) if she can take his fur son to the park with her when she does her regular walks. Hallie had warmed up to Galahad quickly but I think she was kinda like "Is this my new normal?!" about all that... especially when the fur son wasn't very cooperative. 🤣

Still, these walks happen and Hallie is embracing her new weird normal:

I love them so much and how they're getting really comfy with each other in the timeline right now... until I shake their world once more but well, we aren't there yet. 🤣

In Summer 2023, Hallie Henderson and Lance Abbott hadn't seen each other for seventeen years. They met again, entirely by chance, and that encounter was a sweet one, full of nostalgia. When they parted ways that time and Hallie had to go back to Edinburgh, they promised each other to stay in touch.

Neither of the two expected this to happen, but it did, on December 26th of the same year, when Hallie was back in town once more, to spend Christmas with her parents. Hallie let Lance know that she was back, and they decided to meet up again. Another brush of nostalgia, some old feelings and the way they could still talk to each other so effortlessly... it all made for a special moment. The two of them got carried away a little, and there were no regrets at all.

They decided to just roll with whatever it was between them from there, and as of February 2024, they have been... a thing. It's long-ish distance dating (few hours by car!) but it's good. Hallie can work from anywhere, they are making it work!

Not to spoil anything but... so far, I mostly wrote my OCs getting together. With these two, however, it's gonna be about staying together. 🙃

I feel like putting up (most of) my 2023 Hallie and Lancie/Teenage Saga art here! Even though Hallie's (and Cal's) facial features have changed over the past year, I'm still fond of all these doodles, this entire story means so much to me! ;_;

I also kinda wanna draw the teenage bunch's school portraits. Make a yearbook page or something, I dunno. Could be fun. 😂
