frankly the most interesting conversation surrounding the possibility of ace jughead isnt like representation discourse but rather what it says about how the show is approaching their 1950s characters. bc like the setup was that they are the exact same people (who are adults) but with their memories distorted/removed/whatever to believe they are 1) still teenagers and 2) living in the 50s. like this is consistent with how tabitha described it. HOWEVER, jughead, as we know him in the modern day, fucks. enjoys fucking, experiences sexual attraction, the whole nine yards. so if they are going the route of like a soft reset where this version of jughead is ace like...... what are the implications there

#i mean the implications is that theyre playing pretty fast and loose with the lore #like tabitha wasnt sent back in time bc shes an angel but 50s tabitha is still there #but there was no 50s tabitha bc tabitha is from modern times and she wasnt in the group that got sent back #so either they're paying attention to that and this is in fact another alternate dimension (this is my hope)#or theyre just like 'eh its not that they got sent to the 50s its just what if riverdale was in the 50s who cares'#hal also shouldnt be there by this logic #so. i really want them to do something with that but who ever knows with this show #r.tx
