Octokuber, day 4 - Sentai

Now while Gaoranger is technically the first sentai I sat down and finished, Abaranger was my first actual exposure to sentai because of. Well. Dino Thunder.

I can't reasonably be unbiased to Abaranger because that's MY show. It's got dinosaurs, Masaaki Endoh, and friggin' (gestures wildly) ABAREKILLER. I think this show sparked my love for pointy guy armor.

Something that i think is very important to me is that at some point early on in their relationship ryouga has to lose his shit on both yukito and mikoto because while ryouyukimiko the fucking world a huge part of like the theme of the show is about how the abarangers are all people who would run wild chasing their own ideals if they didnt have each other to clash with and bicker with and hold each other back from their worst instincts

And so anyway mikoto and yukito being mikoto and yukito they (not entirely unrightfuly, to some degree) assume ryouga really has no idea what hes gotten into with bringing mikoto along with them and you know yukito at first in show basically accepts it because ryouga is going to do it anyway but hes still mostly viewing ryouga as wildly unprepared

Anyway. Anyway. Sorry i just have a perfect picture of ryouga like 3 months in yukito fucking says smthn and mikotos just miserably sulking about and ryouga just blowing his lid like "STOP ACTING LIKE I DIDNT THINK THIS WOULD BE HARD OR THAT IM GOING TO JUST GIVE UP OR THAT I DIDNT UNDERSTAND THAT IT WOULD BE A LONG TIME OF HARD WORK" and mikoto and yukito just fucking >_> <_< at each other and are like. Okay. Okay. Sorry. And then they cuddle because has ryouga hakua ever been mad for more than 60 seconds before (mikotos prior rage mind break attempts notwithstanding) ? Probably not.
