In Akane’s first free time event she doesn’t remember Hajime’s name. In her second she calls him Hank, in her third she calls him Harvey, and in her fourth she calls him Hector. In her fifth event she finally remembers his name.

In Japanese, they are meant to be jokes. Hidaruma (火だるま) means engulfed in flames. Hikage (ひかげ) means shade, a place without sunlight and Hinata means a sunny place. The “shiba��� in Shibata (柴田) means firewood.

Random Fanfic Idea 4 Extended

SPOILERS FOR HELL GIRL AND DANGANRONPA

So, remember a while back when I posted that idea for that Hell Girl and Danganronpa crossover that had come to my mind. I had been thinking about it again recently and since I am bad at writing actual fanfiction, I figured I would provide my current outline that I have been working on for a little while now.

So, I would have it so that the Kamakura project did not need Hajime's answer till the end of first year, mainly because I thought him being involved longer would be interesting. As the story would go, the world of the Danganronpa games and anime would stick as close to canon as possible except with the Hell Link site and Ai Enma existing within the world.

I think a good starting point would be around the Natsumi and Sato's deaths, where in this version I see Sato choosing to send Natsumi to Hell using the site since she thinks killing her outright is too good for someone as terrible as her. She wants to protect Mahiru and make Natsumi suffer, so what better way to do it, especially since it is clear she would go to that length.

Following this, I would have Fuyuhiko and Peko find out about Natsumi's disappearance and then have Fuyuhiko want to kill Sato like in canon. However, Peko would dispose of her so to speak before her young master could taint his hands.

But as anyone could tell, two girls just disappearing would not go unnoticed. I see Hajime (DR Hajime not HG Hajime) taking note and wanting to learn what happened, and after having the confrontation with Juzo like in canon, I see him wanting to at the very least figure out the truth for himself before he has to go. And through this investigation, he would meet up with Mahiru who would be investigating where Sato vanished too as well.

Through their investigation they could find out about the Hell Link sight as well, and slowly realize what happened. Imagine their reactions when they realize the truth, and especially with what would later occur as others did the same. Afterall, Hell Link isn't some secret, you can find out about it easily enough with some research.

It is during this period that I see the final exams and thus the expulsion of Seiko, Ruruka, and Izayoi still occurring, since Nagito would 100% still be Nagito in this world too. And then imagine Seiko finding out about Hell Link and choosing to banish Ruruka as revenge, only for Izayoi to retaliate and be left with having been left alone. Yes, I like to make my favorite characters suffer, what Danganronpa fan doesn't.

Also, since they have memory manipulation powers, it would be funny watching Hone Onna and Ichimokuren pretend to be teachers again, especially with how crazy the people at Hope's Peak are. Them developing a possible friendship with Yukizome would be adorable, but also sad since they would be wiping themselves from everyone's minds the minute that this whole mess ends.

There is then the distinct possibility of several other people being sent down under as well, such as Mikan having enough of Hiyoko's crap and wanting her gone. Or maybe giving some more character to the Student Council people so that they might turn against each other for the pettiness expected of Hell Girl.

Additionally, there is the scenario where people outside of Hope's Peak could also get involved. I like to imagine Hajime and Mahiru meeting the Shibata family during their dive into the background of the situation, and there being a funny scene where both Hajime's get confused when their name is called.

But sadly, there comes a point where the year would be coming to a close and a decision must be made on Hajime's end. And I could see a world where having actually gained a chance to become close to other people more than in canon, but Hope's Peak does not want to let go of their perfect subject. So just like before, an innocent person is taken to their death by the mentality of the world they live in.

And imagine that now that Hajime was becoming happier with the life he had begun to lead, that leads to him beginning to himself desire revenge against the academy as a whole. The academy that chose to cover up the disappearances and possible deaths of so many, the academy that was going to take his life from him for their own selfish gains. So, naturally the Master of Hell (that freaking spider) would see an opportunity within this gilded cage that Hope's Peak had become for many.

The flames of revenge could be brought to ravage this school, as a boy broken by the society that made him burns the world like it burned him. Of course that is all hypothetical, Hajime could ultimately choose against revenge and simply race against time to continue the life he held. Or the school could continue to prey on innocent lives and dispose of Hajime himself, leading to an agent of vengeance taking its course.

Of course, all of this was just my internal ideas. This idea could be taken many different ways as well. You could push the story forward a year and make it focus on the 78th class instead. Or you could imagine how the Hell Link would run in the stage of the Tragedy.

This truly offers up so many opportunities for interesting story telling, it just takes someone willing to take that first step.

Shibatarian : le manga où l’horreur côtoie le sublime et le grotesque

« Êtes-vous Shibata ? » Une question innocente, qui marque pourtant l’entrée dans un univers où réalité et cauchemar s’entrelacent comme dans un vieux film d’horreur revisité par un génie fou. Avec Shibatarian, Katsuya Iwamuro n’offre pas simplement un manga, mais une expérience déroutante, drôle, flippante et imprévisible.

Un cerisier, une tête humaine, et du cinéma

Tout commence de manière presque banale (ou pas) : Hajime Sato, lycéen au quotidien sans éclat, tombe nez à nez avec une tête humaine surgissant du sol, au pied d’un cerisier. Ce crâne bavard n’est autre que Shibata, une entité énigmatique qui défie toutes les lois de la nature. Hajime, dans un élan de nonchalance typiquement adolescent, décide de sympathiser avec cet étrange personnage. Leur point commun ? Une passion débordante pour le cinéma. Le duo improbable rêve de créer des chefs-d’œuvre, mais la réalité est bien plus complexe. Shibata est invisible pour le reste du monde. Et si son humanité reste douteuse, leur amitié, elle, est bien réelle... du moins au début. Les années passent, les retrouvailles s’imposent, et avec elles, l’histoire vire au cauchemar. Ce qui semblait une aventure excentrique devient un plongeon dans une horreur psychologique où chaque scène vous fait vaciller entre le rire et la terreur.

Quand l’horreur rencontre la critique sociale

Shibatarian, c’est une ode au cinéma d’horreur. Les références à des classiques tels que Alien, Gremlins ou L’Exorciste abondent, mais elles servent un propos bien plus profond. Sous ses airs de délire visuel, Iwamuro livre une réflexion sur la différence et le conformisme. Shibata, cette figure d’étrangeté, est-il autre chose qu’un miroir de notre peur de l’inconnu, de ce qui échappe à nos normes sociales étriquées ? L’horreur ici n’est pas que surnaturelle : elle est humaine, tapie dans les jugements, le rejet et l’incompréhension. Ce cocktail de fantastique et de critique sociale donne naissance à une œuvre qui secoue autant qu’elle fascine.

Un récit sans boussole, mais avec une atmosphère

Ne cherchez pas des explications claires ou des révélations magistrales : Shibatarian préfère les non-dits. Iwamuro privilégie les émotions et les images fortes aux discours didactiques. Résultat : chaque page est une immersion sensorielle où l’intrigue se vit plus qu’elle ne se comprend. Les dessins, oscillant entre le grotesque et le sublime, évoquent ces films d’horreur qui jouent avec vos nerfs et vos tripes. Un sourire nerveux ici, un frisson là : l’équilibre est parfait. L’évolution narrative ne fait qu’amplifier ce malaise étrange, chaque rebondissement vous laissant désorienté mais captivé.

Un manga unique en son genre

Avec seulement quatre tomes, Shibatarian ne s’éternise pas et conserve une intensité qui fait mouche. Ce n’est pas une œuvre pour tout le monde : ceux qui cherchent une narration linéaire et des réponses précises risquent d’être frustrés. Mais si vous aimez les récits qui sortent des sentiers battus, où le bizarre côtoie le brillant, vous serez servi. C’est à la fois un hommage au cinéma, une réflexion sur la marginalité, et une aventure humaine profondément marquante. Au pied de ce cerisier où le rire et l’effroi se croisent, Shibatarian vous invite à un voyage que vous ne serez pas près d’oublier. Une œuvre étrange et mémorable, où chaque page est une énigme qui hurle autant qu’elle chuchote.

A destacar: El día que me aventé a leer Shibatarian (Kazuya Iwamuro), por Mangaplus. Termina la semana entrante, por cierto :) y ansío que por lo menos de este lado del charco (porque dudo que Viz se anime en EUA, hablo de Panini MX) lo pueda traer.

Notas:

Estoy muy enojada con cómo andan las cosas en Nuestra Salvaje Juventud, a como terminó el vol 6, y creo que es más porque son temas fuertes (no por nada, tiene sello de "mayores de 18 años" acá) :))) Cómo demonios eso puede alentar a que termine una amistad.

Estoy todavía preparando un artículo/post completo sobre Umimachi Diary. Es una verdadera joya de serie y me da coraje que nunca me ha tocado ver a alguien comprándolo en la tienda en la que frecuento. No muy convencida con la forma en la que Yoshida la termina (con o sin el extra que conecta a su nueva serie que dudo que la traigan). No estaría mal que Lovers' Kiss POR LO MENOS si la pudieran licenciar (con o sin vínculos "canon" con UD).

Terminé comprando Undelu por Amazon :), ahora sí, hora de empezar el L101 (y JUSTO a tiempo que Andy regresa en la historia en la serialización al día en Mangaplus, ANDY REGRESÓ ;A;).

Soy la mensa que compra el volumen 6 de Dunmeshi... y aún no se pone manos a la obra para comprar el 5 :))) (pero ya me transfirieron otro pago, así que este mes será).

Hellbound y Shibatarian son lecturas que me pusieron "incómoda" pero cada una por su propio mérito.

Shibatarian fue un poco más "ligero" porque encapsula lo similar a una película B de horror, con todo y una "secuela". Es que el autor se la baña con cómo hacer un diseño que particularmente es un chico muy promedio que se podría perder en la multitud (Hajime Shibata) y el rollo del body horror con mutaciones y demás. Es una obra curiosa, y aunque no es "cinematográfica" tal cual, no siento que sea TAN buena, tampoco, es un homenaje a ese tipo de películas... el tipo de películas que los dos Hajime tanto les encantaba y por lo que se formalizó su amistad.

Hellbound... decir que retrata como sería la sociedad si de repente un fenómeno matara indiscriminadamente a la gente por x o y razón y lo tomaran como castigo divino, queda algo corto para mí. Incomoda por muchas cosas, el rollo de que hay gente bastante zafada que lo ve como un mensaje del más allá como castigo, el rollo de que se crea una secta bajo este mantra y luego estos locos te digan "es un castigo divino porque la persona cometió un pecado" cuando ellos bien también se aprovecharon de estos incidentes para propagar su "mensaje" para tener un determinado control... ¿por qué entonces ELLOS no fueron castigados? te deja claro sobre la manipulación de cualquier tipo de poder en la punta de la pirámide para influir en su gente. La verdad, la 2da parte/temporada del webtoon aunque te explica mejor unas cosillas, no sé... la situación y lo que uno vive acá al día con día con la mentada y media del gbno federal es... alucinante (derogatorio).

Es My Little Bookstore la historia que me dejó pensando si no estaría mal abrir una tienda/librería/lo que sea que de repente expliqué en un post pasado. Me deja pensando cosas aparte de la dichosa tienda, lol.

Very much not the bawdy Jeremy Renner comedy vehicle, “Tag” is a movie I’ll cheerfully admit to having tracked down after a bizarre gif piqued my morbid curiosity.
