Do you have a vanity? I never bothered with one until 2016. Always did hair and makeup in the bathroom.

But your bathroom is a bad place to keep your makeup. Too humid. And standing up is not all that relaxing.

I love my vanity. It is my mom’s old desk from her High School bedroom upon which she did her homework. It is not in great shape, it deserves a loving refurbishment. All 13 layers of paint are peeling off and none of the knobs match. But I love it with all my heart and it makes getting ready a joy. And if a million dollars rained down on me from heaven I could not find a vanity which with I would replace it.

And I know two other ladies my own age whose moms had this desk as well. So I’m betting it was mass produced. Anybody out there got one?

Happy Hairsetting Saturday🥂🌼I am all upside down and out of my routine because I am out of the country. But I dragged my whole kit (except for curling iron and blowdryer because the plugs are different in the UK and you can’t use them with converters over here) with me as I have become a high maintenance old broad.

I forgot to wish you all a Happy Hairsetting Friday yesterday💙🌸🥂

Just when I think I have figured out the perfect set I learn something new (thank you, Instagram Stories). I am now sectioning my hair in order to carefully apply mousse and heat protectant from roots to ends. Also, holding the curling iron at the root longer. Results: better curls the next day👍😺

I kind of want one of these but I suspect it would get about as hot as the curling iron I used when I was in the UK. Which did not really get hot at all. And I have not looked into it but I suspect that is a Healthy & Safety thing. As they take that very seriously there. Which is good and I am sure I could eventually adjust if I were ever lucky enough to live there. My whole routine would probably just have to take longer.

And no you cannot use a US curling iron over there. You are not supposed to use the adaptors with a curling iron. Not safe.

Bad set yesterday. Had to go back in with my curling iron today and even then it was a bit frustrating. I think I over-moussed my hair.

Took a chance and brushed out my set. I usually carefully finger comb it. And it turned out better than ever! Huzzah🥂🌼🎉🎊
