Double Protection
Everyone knows that there is nothing like the feeling of well moisturized ends. Depending on the porosity levels, density of the individual strands, texture and state of your hair (transitioning, coloring, heat styling) some may have to seal their ends more often than others. Still, these simple tricks will allow any hair texture to maintain moist, supple ends, which we know is a vital component of length retention. Thicker oils and butters (castor oil, shea or avocado butter) can often yield more long-lasting moisture for your ends. Remember! Your oils act as a barrier to seal in the moisture from washing and conditioning or applying your favorite water-based moisturizer. However, having excess water hanging onto your ends can reduce the effectiveness of your oils/butters. So make sure you seal your hair when damp rather than soaking wet. Your ends are the oldest part of your hair therefore more thirsty. Sometimes natural scalp oils do not reach your ends at all so it is imperative that your ends receive twice the coverage when it comes to applying oils or butters to your hair. Lastly, tucking, bunning, or twisting your freshly sealed ends and help them retain even more moisture as they dry. #hairfinity #hair #haircare #hairvitamins #hairgrowth #longhair #hairfinityresults #hairfinitypictures #hairfinitybeforeandafter (Taken with Instagram)

5 table spoons of Greek yogurt or regular plain yogurt  2 separated egg whites  1 tablespoon of almond oil In a small bowl mix the yogurt, egg whites, and almond oil together until blended. Massage this mixture well into your hair, let stand for 30 minutes under a plastic cap, and then rinse well with cool water. This conditioner can soften dull hair and add shine. This mask can be used once a month to tame frizz, applying it more than once may leave your hair more receptacle to a protein overload due to the egg content.

Silicone Break Down  Slicones are made up of synthetic oils that can add temporary shine, luster, and reduce frizz. The problem with silicones is that these unnatural oils can coat the hair and seal out moisture which is terrible for ethic
hair. Conditioner sole purpose is to repair and moisturize your hair.  Silicones may be too heavy for fine or limp hair, and produce a greasy look, knowing your hair type helps you focus on the best ingredients to use. The top ingredients to look for in conditioner include emollients, humectants, proteins, and moisturizers. Silicone Hair Product Check Off List  These particular silicone ingredients build up on the hair and will require a surfactant-based shampoo to remove them.  Avoid using products with ingredients whose name end in -cone like:  *Cetyl Dimethicone *Cyclomethicone *Steary Dimethicone * Trimethylsilylamodimethicone *Amodimethicone Water- Soluble Non- Building Silicones- are water-soluble, lightweight silicones that provides very little buildup. It is often used in conditioning shampoos.  *Amodimethicone *Cyclomethicone/Cyclopentasiloxane *Trimethylsilylamodimethicone  ------------------------- SILICONE BREAK DOWN Cyclomethicone- evaporates and won't build up on your hair. It gives a silky, smooth feel and leaves the hair with incredible slip when wet and is found in both leave-on and rinse-off products. Dimethicone Copolyol- is a water-soluble, lightweight silicone that provides very little buildup. It is often used in conditioning shampoos. Amodimethicone- (or silicones that have "amo", "amine" or "amino" in their name) is a different kind of silicone that is chemically modified to stick to your hair better. That means it conditions well but it can also be more challenging to remove. Amodimethicone is commonly used in leave-in conditioners. Dimethicone -dimethicone coats hair, providing great shine and conditioning to the hair. However, because it's so water insoluble, it can be difficult to remove. Additionally, this heavy coating is more likely to attract dirt and pollutants from the air, making the hair feel weighed down. Dimethicone is often found in serums and other leave-on products.

Do this gently from the root while sliding the comb upwards until its out of the hair. How to achieve this style:  On Freshly washed hair or co-washed hair , apply a little of your regular leave-in conditioner. Section your hair in small parts (as if braiding or twisting) and detangle. Apply non-alcoholic styling gel to smooth and hold the coil. Twist that section clockwise using a rat-tail comb. Do this gently from the root while sliding the comb upwards until its out of the hair. To finger coil use your fingers. Twirl your hair around your index finger until it forms a coil. Dry the hair for 30-45min (the coils should be firm to touch when dry. You can wear your coils this way or you can unravel them to make a coil-out style. Coils are a great way to start locks but, it will take some time and patience on your part. Until your locks start to actually lock, you will need to be careful washing them. Some people recommend waiting at least four weeks before washing. If you choose to wait that time you can clean your scalp with an astringents like witch hazel or Sea Breeze
